IceTe3a: – Earlier in the night he had run into a lone Terrarat, it tried to get away but fell victim to his blade quite quickly, that of course sorted out his midnight snack. Terrarat was a delicacy in these realms their meat was tender and full of flavor if cooked right, it basically melted in your mouth. As the fire was roaring he set the Terrarat meat up to cook slowly over the fire, it would turn out just perfect; the slabs of meat on the Terrarat were about as big as he was, he had no need for all of it but would keep some for later days, he knew cooking food in this forest would draw something’s attention. His wolf head pendant was warming up against his skin, it signaled beasts were near but he already knew that. He was camped in the dark forest after all, this place was notorious for beasts but the one that was setting off his pendant was just in the dark line where the light of the fire and the darkness met, it was smart enough to keep out of the light whilst it circled around him, studying him.. Weighing up its chances to take down this large prey it had found. He sighed as he sat up, his eyes looking around into the darkness. He could smell it before he laid eyes on it, a large Warg had found his camp. Wargs were pack animals, they resembled giant wolves, not to be mistaken with Dire wolves; these creatures looked more hellish and muscular they were certainly more vicious. But this Warg was different, it sort him out.. it was alone and much larger than your average Warg, a Alpha female Warg none the less. She knew she was found as her head came out of the darkness and into the light; slowly she padded in closer into the light as he came to stand. They were a few meters’ away as she snarled at him; she was beautiful to look at for a hellish creature no doubt she smelt the meat from the Terrarat and wanted some for herself, she was incline to dealing with him first though as her hues glared straight into him. This was going to be a ground fight, he could tell; with a mighty roar she jumped into the air and pounced ontop of him, her large clawed paws on top of him as they roll and tussle around on the ground, her head coming in for bites every so often as he fights her bites off with his hand, his eyes glare into hers as suddenly he allowed her to bite down on his forearm. Her teeth sinking in she growled as he came to a kneel and glared into her eyes showing no pain or fear, She saw this and bit down harder as she growled against his skin. With a mighty roar of his own he reached forward and bit down on her large right ear with ease, she whined as she let his arm go; backing off slightly she slowly curled up on the ground in a submitting manor. He had just shown her he was boss.. master, the alpha of the pack; coming to a full stand he glanced down at his arm and looked at his fresh wounds, they would require medical assistance no doubt. Walking over to the fire he looked back at the Female alpha Warg and pointed to the ground next to him “ Come “ she was watching him and slowly she pawed over with caution after being defeated she had accepted him as leader, more or less he had just tamed her. There was a nack to taming Wargs and not everyone knew how to do it, he learned from the Orcs, they ride Wargs as a mount and keep them as a fellow friend and battle-brother or sister. Sitting down the female Warg came in and laid behind him her body supported his back and weight as he leaned against her, she was that big her head reached around and rested slightly on his knee as she moaned and groaned with a slight snort, she was still hungry. Patting her head with force allowing her to feel his touch as she groaned against his touch she softly nuzzled his hand. Reaching for one of the slabs of meat he placed the steaming cooked meat on the ground next to her as she took it slowly whilst looking at him making sure she was not going to get in trouble, she then proceeded to eat it. So he had found himself a new friend, he had just shown her that they were equals by offering her to eat before he did, she was cautious about this the whole time but ate anyway; once she was done she poked at his wounded arm with her nose attempting to lift it up, he raised his hand out of curiosity and she started to lick the blood off and the wounds clean. He closed his eyes and laid back into her as the night went on, she was busy cleaning his wound it would suffice for now but he would need to still seek medical aid, they were now bonded with each other the White wolf and large Alpha Warg. He had not killed her simply because she was different from the other Wargs, she was twice the size of a normal Warg and larger.. Smarter, something he looked for in people he worked with and he chose to make the bond with her. They would now protect each other for life, as they roamed these lands.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The forest came alive with the thunder of the Centaurs hooves as they fanned out and started to hunt down the lone Blood Elf. The leader, kept his position and with a steely gaze scanned the foliage closest to him for signs of her. Already having to deal with the patrons in the Inn she was now again faced with her second battle since arriving in this world. Vastly outnumbered she knew that it would be folly to do anything drastic. However, now that the leader was left on his own, she seized a chance to face him. One on one. Stepping out of the clearing – her fire headed crystal on her Ranseur glowing fiercely, Cali made herself seen. She twirled her pole arm while her blazing green hues took in the great Centaur before her. The dark skinned Centaur cast his gaze down on the wily Elf and then burst out laughing. So bold or stupid to show herself in front of the might of one so great. ”You have a death wish, Elf” He reared up on his two back legs showing off his muscular form before landing down again with an earth shattering thud. ”I am a traveller who seeks not to harm, but so help me if you try; I will steal from you more than your last breath.” She meant his very life force. Both her hands started to glow fiercely as she spun her polearm. The Centaur went to reach for his bow, but she was faster. Aiming her Ranseur at his chest and blasting him with a powerful fire ball attack that would have him scream in horror and pain. This brought about all the other Centuars, who saw their leader under attack. Cali showed her left hand – the green ball of light building. ”BACK OFF, OR HE DIES!” She threatened as the sizzling smell of burning flesh was now scenting the very air. The leader roared at his kin to back up as she was ready to make a second attack. It was a tense standoff. <3>
IceTe3a: -Time was wasting as he opened his eyes, the forest was uneasy as it gave off a weird sensation to the Witcher. The new elf must be causing problems somewhere or the forest just didn’t like her presence, as he came to stand the Warg gave a defying yawn before coming to stand near him. He smiled down at the Warg and gave her a firm pat on the back “ Mersa, you shall be called Mersa The lone Warg” he nodded slightly in agreement with himself. Kicking dirt and forest litter onto the roaring fire it eventually died down into a smokey haze, the night was still young as he climbed on mersa’s back, Mersa was more than happy to give him a ride “Find that scent girl” Wargs were smart, some say they could understand mundane language. It was a proven point, but if they would listen to the plea’s of their dying prey was another thing entirely. It wasn’t hard for Mersa to pick up the strange scent, with a bone chilling howl that would echo throughout the forest she took off with lightning speed. He wondered just what the elf was up to and just what trouble she was making this time. As a Witcher it was his duty to make sure any magical being was not causing issue this included her, to her he may seem almost demonic and this would almost be correct as a Witcher did resemble a demon, with his unusual Witcher eyes and albino hair, his immense raw magical energy that flowed throughout him, he could easily be mistaken for a demon and that was part of the reason why Witchers were shunned by Mundane. It didn’t take Mersa long to shorten the distance from the Witcher and the elf as she came to a casual stroll. She would be up a head, as he could hear talking and hooves stamping; Coming off Mersa his feet hit the ground silently as he cautioned her to stay put, walking up slowly he kept his distance as a herd of Centaurs had the elf surrounded, she had one well within her grasps as he had seen her green energy orb in her hand, he knew just what that did as he smirked. A Witcher to the magical was more or less the grim reaper, the judge, jury and executioner of any beast and or magical creature. So when it came to dealing with more intelligent magical creatures or beasts there was a difference with the way things were done as with a mindless beast would be slayed on the spot with no questions asked, however it seemed the Elf had wandered well within the Centaurs self proclaimed territory, and that was against their laws. They were more bullies then actually having any real claims to these lands or laws to judge on, leaning against a nearby tree he watched as the event unfolded with no intention to interfere or be known of his presence.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The blood curdling howl of the Warg was enough to seize the attention of the Centaurs that had the Elf and their leader surrounded. It was one thing to gang up on the lone Blood Elf, but she was showing that she was more than capable of defending herself. She may well have stumbled onto their lands, but it was unknowingly. Someone was to pay the price for this folly, but who? The leader’s chest was seared and bleeding, with a nasty gash that was caused from the fire ball strike. All watched as the green orb like light that glowed in her left hand was growing larger by the second, as the Blood elf showed just how threatened she was. ”BACK OFF!” she ordered again, the very life of their leader in the palms of her hand. ”I shall take his very life force if you do not fall back!” She had already feasted that night, but when you are a blood elf, your addiction for such power is often unsated. Out of the clearing the soft sounds of the footfalls of the Witcher are heard. Had he come to be referee in this latest melee with the Blood elf? She was surely causing problems everywhere she went. This may well have not been her fault, had she bothered to listen to the right directions. The tense standoff lasted another few moments, before the Centaurs all started to move back and allow the Blood elf to pass. Unsure if this was some sort of trick, she yelled at the Witcher. ”Tell them I mean it!” For certain he knew what she could do when pressed. <3>
IceTe3a: He watched as it unfolded, the Centaurs had her surrounded they didn’t know if she was bluffing or not but they were not about to risk the lives of their leader, she on the other hand wasn’t bluffing he knew she would kill the leader without a second thought it was a stalemate if the Centaurs tried to call the bluff she’d take the leader and perhaps die from being overrun, or the Centaurs could die from her sheer power. He was hoping he didn’t have to step in but the elf gave him no choice, asking him to tell them she wasn’t bluffing. A sigh came from his lips as he pushed from his shoulder and came to a stand, walking into view the Centaurs started whispering as he came closer his arms folded against his chest as he walked through the group they gave him path without question, they were watching him cautiously as a Witcher by itself is a great threat to any magical being but the legendary White wolf Witcher was another entire story. Walking in between the leader and the elf he glanced down at the elf’s open palm that was now pointing the green orb directly at himself, he was facing her as his hues glanced back up to hers. “Put it away before I make you.. it wasn’t a threat he just made more of a promise he went silent for a moment as the Centaurs started to ease back a little, he could see Mersa circling around slowly in the distance she was making sure her new partner was to come to no harm. “ Derek, We both know you have no real claims, the only reason I haven’t forced my hand yet is because you haven’t caused me any trouble… Do not force my hand Derek” it was a direct threat to the leader, basically stating the obvious that the Centaurs claims to these lands were not valid and were not recognized by the Witchers, advising him to back off before his patience ran dry, he was standing between them both and had just threatened them both he came off either really cocky and sure of himself or simply experienced in his tradecraft either way this was about to get interesting, the Centaurs wouldn’t start a war with the Witchers they wouldn’t win but this elf, he continued to examine her with his demon looking eyes. He would need to have words with this elf once all this was over.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The Blood Elf was showing her true nature, and she was nothing like elves that the Centaurs may have encountered before. Cali’s power only increased when angered and at this point she was very close to taking the leader’s life force just to spite all that stood around them. The green orb of light swirled and built in size – a testimony to her strength and power. It matched the dangerous hues of her eyes and the combination had a harrowing aura building up around the girl. Only now, with the Witcher entering the fray was the battle about to go one way or another. At first he turned his attentions on Cali, and ordered that she put the orb away before he made her. Naturally Cali was reluctant too. Her head whipping around, her breath in short sharp pants as she surveyed the other Centaurs for signs that they were going to break rank and attack her. Needless to say, when the Witcher then turned on the leader of the Centaur it became apparent that the Witcher was treating the Centaur leader with the same disdain. Snorting angrily, the leader then turned away from the Elf and beckoned with his hand that his herd follow him out. All did so with angered looks at both the Blood Elf and the Witcher. Thankfully, no one had to die. Slowly, Cali started to lower her left hand, with the ball of green light turning into a fine mist before withdrawing back into the Blood Elf’s body. She was still breathing hard from the exertion of building up her powers, and would be silent for a moment till she found her voice. ”Are you King of these lands?” <3>
IceTe3a: He watched as Derek snorted up a fuss but in short time he ordered his herd to follow him, with reluctant attitude they left to go deeper into their forest leaving the elf and him behind. He could have just as easily killed the leader but that would mean killing the elf too, blood seeks blood and it would have been the only other way, his hues fell back to the elf as she asked if he was king of these lands “ No “ he said simply as he watched her hand lower and the orb disappear. With a slight whistle Mersa came running past the Elf from behind and rounded up behind him, she softly lowered her head and nuzzled his arm as he continued to watch the Elf. “I know why you’re here, but if you continue to cause issue I will send you back one way or another “ he glanced up to Mersa for a moment and then back at her, “ The Centaur have no real claims on this forest, but they despise Mundane so they choose to live in these forest self claiming territory. There are many unspoken laws in these lands, if you’re not careful you will die before the days out, elf” By now the Centaur were well out of sight, it would not take them long to go back to their encampments for the rest of the night, no doubt complaining about him stepping in, the only reason he held weight in his words was because of his title – The white wolf. It was well known throughout the entire world as he travelled, many knowing him for his skills in warfare and all things magical, stories and legends forged around his many battles and feats, his pure strength. Those who wished to not meet a Witcher counted every day a blessing they did not meet the legendary White wolf for he was the strongest out of the pack, or at least the strongest Male witcher, there was another.. A female just like him, an albino just like him she was in all intent and purposes his other half, she was away on a job last he saw her they went different ways for once. He knew their paths would cross again soon enough and she would no doubt be attempting to handle and control him as she always did. Coming back to reality he glanced around “You’re still heading in the wrong direction, after I warned you and gave you the right directions. Are you Ignorant or deaf?” he stood there with an emotionless face, what he said was blunt and to the point he never once thought about what he was going to or had said ever.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The blood elf’s idea that this Witcher may have been King of these lands by the way he treated those that passed through it was totally off base. He answered her simply that he was not. No sooner had he spoke the Witcher whistled. The Warg – his new companion appeared out from the scrub and nuzzled the Witcher as he continued to speak to the Blood elf with disdain. He was adamant that if she continued to cause trouble in these parts, that he would send her back to her world himself. Cali scoffed at the idea he could do such a thing, but in the back of her mind she hated the very thought of it. Her eyes went from the Warg, and then back to settle on the Witcher’s face when he asked if she was ignorant or deaf for getting the directions so wrong that she was well off the right path to the nearest city. Driving her polearm into the dirt she said simply. ”I thought it was this way. A simple mistake.” She was indignant about being corrected. Noticing the puncture wounds on the Witcher’s arm that was not there when she encountered him at the Inn, she asked. ”Looks like I am not the only one to get into a fight.” She was keenly observant for the wound only gave off a wonderful smell. She had to fight back her cravings and not get herself into more trouble with the Witcher. <3>
IceTe3a: – He watched as she looked from him to the Warg and back, a Warg to someone not from these lands could be a startling thing, this one in particular was a lot larger and muscular than the average Warg. He wasn’t about to explain to the elf exactly what Mersa was as it would be a waste of time, he watched her body movements as she basically pointed out his fresh arm wound which was still oozing out his blood slightly, he looked down at it and back up she obviously could smell his raw magical power “Still hungry? Be sure, I have more Raw power in me than you can feed on “ that was both an observation and a threat as to his strength a simple smirk was on his face as he looked around “ Can’t tell the direction? I said east, you’re heading west; further into the forest. he shook his head as Mersa came to lay down behind him, her back was still reaching his shoulders she was quite large, as he gave her a solid pat. He had to figure out what he was going to do with the elf, should he kill her, let her go? He had no clue but honestly she hardly worried him at all. “ Your husband is dead, if he’s anything like you he tried to feed on the wrong thing and ended up dying because of it, if you insist on venturing to find his lifeless body. I suggest going to the nearest city and hiring a guide or a tracker… the city is east.. east is in that direction.. he raised his right arm and pointed slightly to the left behind her, to make sure this time she knew which way she needed to go. “ The mundane don’t like elves they’ll hate you, expect to be shunned at most places. They hate Me more than elves though so you should be fine as long as you don’t feed “
CharlotteCarrendar: – It was becoming clear that the Blood Elf had set out on her quest with very little knowledge of what she was getting herself into. This world was nothing like her own, and she was travelling blind – almost. Her natural responses to defend herself were justified in each case, and it was not like she set out to cause the fights that had sprung up – twice now in quick succession. She seemed to be making a habit of it. Every so often the Blood Elf would stare at the Warg, before looking back at the Witcher as he tried to talk some sense to her. Creatures who are constantly on guard, tend to be a bit over cautious and she needed to start to think first before she acted. The Witcher picked up on her sudden interest in his wound which was radiating his energy like water from a stream. He reminded her that he had more raw energy in him then she could ever dare take. The threat was heeded, and the Blood Elf backed off a little. She wasn’t stupid. “ Can’t tell the direction? I said east, you’re heading west; further into the forest.” The Witcher was right. She was heading deeper into the darker forest. Now with the right path shown, she was about to make tracks, when the Witcher explained that though she might reach the city, that she would be seen as trouble, being that Mundane did not like elves. He also reminded her that he believed her husband dead. This was something she simply could not accept. ”Only when his corpse is presented to me, will I believe him dead. You do not understand the bond I have with my mate. If he had died…I would have felt it, and never made this journey.” One thing was for sure, she was loyal to her mate. <3>
A soft digital tone sounded in the tight elevator, signaling that he had arrived on the bridge. There was numerous governmental air force officers and naval personnel working holograms, scribbling on papers, talking over comms, and arguing amongst themselves. Razuken had a mission, and that was to get to Silver, the one who summoned him. He stepped out of the elevator onto the grated platform. Because of his heavy ExoSuit, it made a small vibration, and a loud *clank*. This caught the attention of almost everyone in the room. He made careful not to look direcly at anyone in particular, but kept his step light. He simply spoke one word in a digitized bass tone, “Silver”. A nearby officer stepped forward and handed him a note, with crested designs of the governemental seal. Razuken flipped it open to find a short and sweet description, “Izu is in control, but your smarts are needed upstairs. Find Azamar.” The officer spoke low in tone as the SkyCastle Commander and Izu walked by, “Silver was a good friend to us all. You can find Azamar up in the battery banks and weapon’s division of the engineering quarter. Surely he is still messing with his solar cannon designs.” Razuken looked up to find Commander Viet being chewed out massively by a lady on the holo-screen. Surely the Commander was not aware of his arrival, and it seemed that Izu was now the Captain. Looking up, he began to download the internal structure of the SkyCastle into his HUD. Blueprints, x-ray designs, and engineering documents labeled with ‘Confidential’ flooded his eyes. He stood for a second, taking it all in. “This is surely beyond any mechanic work I have ever done…” Every little detail of the SkyCastle was before him. The entire structure was designed by a long-dead group of engineers and scientists. Such a floating structure had numerous fail-safe protocols to insure its safety and the safety of the crew. In the event of a thruster failure.
There were layers of hydraulic shock absorbers littered throughout the structure, and reinforced with springs and bumpers. Of course, if the structure were to fail, there would be intense damage throughout. Razuken simply was in awe of the massive ingenuity that was brought right into his headset. His attention was caught by Commander Viet storming through a door, and clusmily catching his jacket on the door. Razuken walked foward steadily, approaching Izu at the command holo-screen. (Raz) “Captain Izu. Its been a while…” Izu turned in his chair, holding another cup of coffee. When he saw Raz, he nearly spit it out. After swallowing, he looked up and laughed. (Izu) “Ho-ly shit… Raz? S’been a long time, man, for sure. Still driving the Ghost 4?” (Raz) “Naturally.. I modded it here and there at my days at the airway. Still doing stunt shows, ya’know…” Izu and Raz were both of the Ghost Command Air Squadron, and were both in the Alpha class. Izu retained a Division 1 subclass, whereas Raz continued in combat. Since that day in the graduation, Izu and Raz have not spoken much. (Izu) “Well hot stuff, man.. I see you perfected your ExoSuit design.” Just as Raz was going to reply, the holo-screen turned red and an alarm blared. A digital voice rang out clear. “Approaching enemy vessel in orbit”. Izu took another swig of the coffee and then tapped a few buttons on the holo-screen to bring up the report. (Izu) “Looks like one of the probes found something out of the ordinary.. Probe 7 scanned an unidentified spacecraft well out of range, but approaching.. looks like reinforcements. We need to prepare for an air battle. No doubt the Scourge Eagle is going to take air superiority. Computer: Initiate Defense protocol. Battlestations.” The whole room lit up blue, and the holo-screens brought up numerous amounts of data. Izu pointed at Yok. “Get me sector scans in a 2-mile radius. I want realtime updates on our position.”
(Raz) “I’ll be heading up to the engineering department. I heard that there is some interesting weaponry up there. Toodles.” Izu waved off Raz, and returned to his screen. Raz slipped a small wireless broadcaster onto the control panel. This would allow him to communicate with the computer network if he needed to. Turning smoothly, he walked past the door that Viet stumbled through and back to the elevator. *ding* “Engineering” *ding* He was whisked away to the engineering deck. Hundreds of battery banks all meticulously interconnected was the first thing that Raz saw when he stepped out of the elevator. There was nobody there. Not a peep. Raz walked into the office near the elevator, a nearby wall sconce flickering weakly. When he opened up the unlocked door, the hall flooded with stacks of paper. Aparrently there was no janitors on this floor at all. He sifted his way through some papers on top of the desk until he came across an interesting looking blueprint. This one was not on his list of blueprints that he downloaded. “Interesting looking gun…” Of course, this was Azamar’s Plasma Ejecting Solar Cannon. It was written in a short section of the paper, a description of what the Cannon would operate like.
“The Plasma-Ejecting Solar Cannon, in theory, and when operated correctly will be the equivalent to a mini solar flare, complete with magnetic disturbance, UV radiation, and heat source. Essentially, the weapon fires with the thrust from an isolated magnetic force, initiated by capacitors. Once this magnetic force reaches the diodes at the end of the weapon, a particulate effect is created in the space between the diodes. This is the ‘pre-arc’ phase. Once the magnetic disturbance flows between the diodes, the arc will catch on the ‘magnetic wind’, and essentially travel in a straight beam with a thickness of about 800mm. The beam, with the help of mechanical means, can be manipulated by the direction of the gun. We have incorporated a means to move the gun vertically up and down, but not left and right. This beam was designed to have a magnetic influx equivalent to a large EMP. Of course, this is where we designed our magnetic diffusers, so we would not incur a power loss. It was intended as a planetary defense weapon, reaching from the sea level, to orbit level in less than a second. Due to the level of heat coming off of the diodes, we built large coolers into the diode machinery, and coupled it with an energy-absorbing re-allocation device to absorb residual power for maximum efficiency. Our source of energy would be from solar amplification panels that are scattered across the Castle itself, and along the hex-shield defense system. The charge time for a single shot is a full 8 hours. We were able to boost this from 3 days by coupling the solar chargers with a form of fission that is classified at this time. We con…” The rest was smeared in coffee and pizza sauce. Suddenly from above, near a set of ladders, Raz heard some commotion, and a banging sound. He went to investigate.
The Solar Cannon (In a visual idea)
Way up in the top of the old tower ruins of the castle, since modified with reinforced steel and alloy, was the lone engineer, tinkering with his prototype, the Solar Cannon, or as some have called it.. the ‘Sun Gun’. Azamar Flint had designed a specialized weapon that absorbs the sun’s energy in a magnified way, coupled with a form of fission. Hundreds of battery banks were on a single level of this developed gun, to help supply the power neccessary to fire the beast. Most of the power was charged into concentrated capacitors, with layers upon layers of fine dielectric material. Everything was meticulous. He had been working on it for a long time, designing, building, refining.. but he had a problem. He couldnt get the magnetic diffuser to work correctly. If the weapon were to fire, it would tear the ship apart magnetically and disable everything in the wave of the electro-magnetic pulse. Azamar knew what this gun was capable of. It was roughly half the length of the Castle’s height, and extended at an angle, just within the radius of the hex-shield defense system. It was designed with cooling in mind. Hundreds of mini magneto-pulsar cannons were at the base of the gun, supplying the thrust of the particles that would extrude from the diodes at the end of the gun. Amplifiers and diffusers were along the barrel, to ensure direct and accurate fire. “Curse this confounded thing…” Azamar tinkered with a handheld prototype of the solar cannon. It would fire when hooked up to the nearby battery bank, but make the nearby holograms flicker from its magnetic influence. Small welds and cuts were carved to and fro across the ceilng and walls of the hall. Hours had passed by, and he still could not get it right. He had no idea what was going on in the background. He had accidentally disabled the comms, and was unaware of the whole SkyCastle going into battle mode. He tweaked the magnetic diffuser, with a screwdriver, and then soldered a resistor to it, hoping that the change in frequency would allow him to get the correct voltage in the magnetic diffuser. He fired it again, this time with complete success. The beam put a hole right through the hull of the SkyCastle, the size of a pen. Azamar leapt up and hooted with joy. He had finally done it. Raz walked in at just the right moment. The hex shield was activated with its red panels, but the minature beam cut right through the red energy field. A warning icon appeared on Razuken’s HUD, signalling some sort of disruption in the energy field. A holo-screen appeared and showed the panel that was struck. A bar showed the power returning to the sheild. Izu came over the comms. “What the actual fuck was that? It took out one of our panels. It came from the inside.” Azamar whipped around and had a very concerned look on his face, but then complete shock as he saw Razuken standing there in his ExoSuit, looking foreign and fearsome. “I… I… was j-just working on my gun…” Looking up at the pen-hole in the ceiling, Razuken commed back to Izu. “Its alright Izu.. just one of our engineers making something pretty interesting.” (Izu) “Well stow that. We have incoming in a few hours.” Razuken kneeled down and looked at the weapon that Azamar was holding in his hand. “What is it?”[b/] Azamar’s eyes lit up as he loved to talk about his beloved weapon.
”It’s a miniature version of the solar cannon…” Azamar pointed up at the large base that was the solar cannon, wires running every which way, and hydraulic shock absorbers lining the outside. “It is almost ready, but I have to alter some changes to the magnetic diffusers. I do not have enough time to do it. And… what is that.. is this an ExoSuit?” Azamar tapped on the metal, feeling its weight and vibrative whirring. “Interesting…” Razuken remarked rather frankly, “We do not have the luxury of sharing our affinity for technology. We need to get this gun up and working.. what do you need, Azamar?” Azamar looked around and started to gather his thoughts. Milly busted into the room, rear first, with a tray of coffee and biscuits. (Milly) “Hey Azamar, I do not think Viet will be bothering you anymo..” As she turned around, expecting to see Azamar, she was surprised to see Razuken standing there in his ExoSuit, so different from short Azamar.“Who is the tall guy?” Razuken stepped forward and spoke as level as he could, “My name is Razuken, Ghost Command, Alpha Class. And you are?” Milly was just about to open her mouth when Azamar screamed happily, saying ”I have it! The drones.. the JACKv2 drones.. W-we can retrofit them for repairs, at l-least 6 of them. That way we can r-remotely program them to do the construction for us. That is how we built this s-s-sucker, but we do not have the luxury of the special construction drones s-since we had to drop dead weight before t-t-t-takeoff.” (Raz) “Then lets get started…”[\b] There was a lot to be done to ready the gun. It was charged and ready to fire, but would they be able to make the upgrade in time?
RazukenCarrendar:
In the Country outside of Lorewall
(Playing as Fortuno Todd)
Fortuno was lost… again. He was good at getting lost. He grew up in Lorewall and had not been too far away from Lorewall ever before. The night skyline was afire with a sea of red embers dancing among thick black smoke. Trees burned in the distance, and the Northern portion of Lorewall was unrecognizable. Fortuno, with a sullen expression, dropped his tote upon the dusty ash ground near the edge of a small cliff, overlooking the city. He was miles away. Things had gone from bad to worse in a matter of a few hours. Planetary invasion was something he soon came to hate. He flopped himself down on the edge, his feet dangling over sharp rocks at the bottom. He sighed sorrowfully, twiddling his fingers and thinking profoundly to himself. “Oh Charlotte… I lost you again… I had hoped that we would stay together in our adventure, but I failed you. I am nothing but a bumbling fool.” He felt sorry for himself. He took out his razor and looked at himself in the reflection, just enough light from the flames far in the distance to show his features. His hair was mussed, and blood was dried and spattered across his face and clothes. He stopped for a moment to think again. This was, in fact, the first time in a very long time that he had feelings of true sorrow. “I did not even get to sing you the song I made for you…” With that, tears streaming down his face, he began to sing the song in the tongue that only few would understand, but Charlotte would especially understand. The bard raised his head slightly to allow for the passage of the words in a clear and sweet voice. The words fell from his lips like petals picked from a fresh red rose. His eyes glowed as the power of another world overtook him. His words were intermingled with a spirit that was beyond this world, to ring out in a paranormal way across the expanse of the planet. Anyone who would be feeling this same sorrow deep in their hearts would hear these words singing in their head.

“Uncertainty, evil, blood, pain.
Even unto you, your soul will drain.
But the sun still comes up at daylights break
While the balance of the world is at stake.
Look to the ones that call you mother.
Will you watch them all start falling under?
No, for your strength is in your blood,
You would rise, even when thrown to the mud
Life passes away like the great wind’s sigh
Your soul you forsake, just like mother had died.
It is a sad story, the end that may come
But for now you stand firm, in the face of the sun
Stand and stay firm, cry out in the fight,
Like a ray of the sun that pierces the night.
If you have victory, go back where you belong,
To you, your people will readily throng.
There is no comfort like that of your home,
Memories of better times, these visions have shown.
Look into the eyes of the ones that you love,
And remember the innocence of them, like a dove.”
It came naturally… a magical kind of feeling came over him, amplified by the sheer anxiety and sorrow that he felt. It was heart-wrenching. He doubled over in pain, his head throbbing from the ache of his heart. All he wanted was to be an adventurer.. to help, to make pleasant. That song trailed on the air and hung heavy across the entirety of the planet, reverberating off of every cavern, alley, and tunnel. His eyes turned to their normal, dim color. The tears on his face shimmered off of the distant flames and provoked him to wipe his face clean. He looked around, feeling useless, picking up a handful of dust in his hand. He let it go into the wind, and saw it fly off into the direction of Lorewall. Another feeling welled up within him. Hope. Something was telling him that though the path before everyone in Lisega was one full of death and uncertainty… there was a ray of hope. His eyes glowed again, and this time he stood and shouted whole-heartedly. His voice thundered across the expanse with the power of the unknown spirit.

“In Neumaeus we trust, and to her we hail,
Our battle worn hearts cannot ever fail.
In the face of death, we stare back with great consequence,
For we shatter the very foundations of the Scourge Eagle’s confidence.
Look to the time when the battle is over,
Honor the valiant dead, bury them ‘neath the clover.
In the comfort of Lorewall, we shall return,
After the enemy, our forces will spurn.
Through sorrow and tragedy, we will live on,
Like the memory of the heroes, however long gone.
Let us gather to celebrate, once our enemy has left,
In the company of these heroes, our sorrow bereft.”
Fortuno returned to his normal self, finding a newfound sense of joy and hope. It was different. He was different. He cried out aloud, closing his eyes and embracing the moment, “WE SHALL SURVIVE!” With that he picked up his tote and made for the end of the countryside that would bring him into the courtyard outside of Lorewall, back where he originally came from. “We have not won yet, but I will be damned if we do not have a full-fledged party if we do. Time to cook up a celebratory feast.”
His figure melted into the darkness, the dense forest shading the flickering lights of fire.
RazukenCarrendar: (Playing as Razuken Nekuzar, Izu Carrendar, Navigator Yok Private Milly, and Azamar Flint)
Skycastle- A couple hours after retrofitting the JACKv2’s
Azamar was back to tinkering with the miniature Solar Cannon. “How does it work?” Razuken said, sitting on a cargo box next to Azamar. “The battery bank supplies the capacitor, and then the capacitor boosts the magneto pulsar cannon, making it fire. The resistor just helps harmonize the diffuser so that it works properly.” Razuken leaned back and thought for a moment, then got up and spoke a command, “Initiate ExoSuit exit sequence.” The suit came alive, little pneumatic hisses and warbles were heard here and there. Mechanical disks rotated amongst rods and hydraulics. The suit unsealed itself after depressurizing, and the panels lifted to allow Razuken to step out. Azamar looked on in interest of this new technology that was presented before him. (Azamar) “What does your ExoSuit do?” (Raz) “It is a Multi-role, All Environment Powered Exoskeleton. It is about two meteres high, and comes equipped with a multi-purpose pneumatic claw, a 20 barrel revolving cannon, a power gauntlet and manipulator, mini pulse doppler radar, a passive radar, battleLINK software with realtime battlefield updates, Infrared and thermal sensor arrays, a limited jamming capability, a fire tracking software to track incoming projectiles, onboard AI with learning software, minimum 4 cm NEOsteel plating, which is a special alloy that is meant for ballistic and explosive resistance, reinforced joints, augmented strength, and a fully loaded 48 hour life support system compatible with Nuclear, Bio-chemical, and vaccuum environments. Not to mention that it can fly… kinda like a fighter. Jet propulsion is integrated into the legs and back. That took years to modify…” Azamar was astounded at this expensive-looking piece of equipment. “So… what happens if you break it? What will you do then?” Razuken turned to the side, sporting his Sig Sauer attached to the black belt along his power suit. “I use this baby. Its all I trust nowadays.”
Razuken walked toward Azamar, his headset lifted out of his way so that he could see him well. “Let me see that little thing right quick…” Azamar handed over the cannon almost reluctantly. When Razuken took it into his hands, the sheer weight of it was almost soothing. It felt powerful. He disconnected the mini cannon from the battery bank and picked up a few tools and stuffed them into his pockets. He then dragged a welding machine over to his ExoSuit and started to work. As Raz began the process, Azamar shuffled up while poking his fingers together. “Uhm.. what are you doing?” Raz lifted his visor up from welding the cannon onto the arm of his ExoSuit, “Im fitting it onto the suit… I think I may be able to power this thing with the power pack on my suit. It may take a bit to use though. We will see what happens.” Razuken continued welding the cannon onto the arm of the Suit as Milly walked up with more coffee. “Here, this is my special brew. It is going to be a long night with all the fighting outside. Izu says that they are preparing to land small ships on the surface right now, and that the enemy is mobilizing air superiority.” Azamar took a cup gratefully and shook his head, sighing. “It seems that things have gotten worse, Milly. I.. I never wanted to see this thing used. But in the same token… I felt that it was needed.” “Get yer gut in gear, Azamar. We are at war. Face it. They are coming to kill us.” The truth was that Milly herself was in fear of the unknown, but she could not just watch Azamar sulk like that. “There! It’s done..” Razuken lifted the visor and wiped off his palms proudly. The cannon was wired up directly to the power pack, switchlegged through a part of the onboard computer module. It looked almost as if it were meant to be there.
“Report in, Razuken” Izu’s voice came over the comms. “I want a status report on that prototype.” Razuken flipped down his headset and checked the status of the JACKv2’s. “Looks like units 1, and 3-6 are complete, but unit 2 is still finishing up. The prototype should be fully functional in about an hour or so.” (Izu) “Good. Because we are running out of time. The enemy is moving forward and we are in their sights. Captain is about to be activated. We have the advantage at the moment, at least as long as I do not let Viet on the comms. -laughs- But we will see what happens. Keep your battleLINK on you for updates.” Razuken saluted smartly and chuckled. “You got it, Izu.”
(Moments before the downfall of SkyCastle)
The sky was red. The ground, like ash. A thunder of bombshells, and gunfire hung upon the air and reverberated across sand, snow, and grass. The Imperium of Man had landed. Dozens upon dozens of siege weapons in lines, protected by numerous means. Krieg moving and advancing on the capital of Lorewall. The SkyCastle moved into position by the order of the Command.
(Izu) “I need all available hands to get on the ballistics deck, we need to keep the SAM’s and AA batteries fed. Give me a report on the hex-shield defense network. Yok, what is the status of our thrusters?” (Yok) “Thrusters are at 60% and holding steady, Captain.” Izu tapped on the holo-screen watching the incoming waves of aircraft that threatened the SkyCastle. (Izu) “Keep at it, mates! We are holding up!” One of the enemy aircraft, shot down by a SAM missile veered hard into the SkyCastle, landing into one of the airdocks, causing an explosion and fire. (Izu) “Rescue team, deploy to section 12, Dock 4A. Fire and explosion.” Izu was trying to keep everyone connected and organized. His attention was fully upon the screen before him, showing realtime status of the SkyCastle, and the multiple enemy machines that lined the field. It was on the Western side of Lorwall when they made the advance. (Izu) “Razuken, we need that cannon up and working. We have no way to provide support to our forces on the ground!” Razuken was in his ExoSuit, programming the executable for the cannon fire. Patching it in right to the command screen, Izu saw the option to use the cannon. (Raz) “Just patched her in, Izu. Should be ready to fire. The computer uses the trajectory map and overthrows pilot control for steady fire.” An alarm wailed and a zoomed-in projection came onto the screen. Deathstrike missiles.(Izu) “Scramble all fighters! We have incoming! SAM turrets aquisition Deathstrike missiles priority one!” Razuken lept into action, screaming down the hallway, leaving Azamar and Milly dumbfounded at his speed. Azamar turned to Milly with a chuckle. “Well… lets hang out here and make sure this equipment stays stable.” Razuken was on his way to the dock where his ship was located when he got an update on his HUD, complete with the urgency of Izu’s voice. (Izu) They are preparing for launch! The rails are too low to be attacking us directly. *Gasps* The thrusters!”
(SAM operator) “Captain! We cannot lock onto the missiles! They are too low in range! We CFZZZZZZ~~~” The SkyCastle shook as a nearby aircraft tore apart a row of SAM’s. (Izu) “Raz, the trajectory predictions are indicating that they aim to take out our thrusters.. You have to do something. The fighters may not be able to get to them. They are going down like flies!” (Raz) “I have an idea, Izu… but if I do not make it out alive.. -pauses- Its been a good run, chap..” (Izu) “Raz, you never change do you…? Always doing something crazy.” (Raz) “Some things do change… but some things will never change.. Raz out.” Everyone on the bridge was holding their breath. For those few moments in the elevator, leading to the courtyard, it seemed like peace and quiet. Was this his end? The elevator sounded its soft electronic *ding*, and out stepped Raz into the open courtyard. Some hex shields partially destroyed, flames amidst green grass and majestic ruins proved to be a sobering sight. The HUD lit up as the passive and pulse doppler radar became active. There were 5 aircraft in the vicinity, picking off what defenses were lefts were left. Razuken started to break into a run, his legs whirring and hissing with a hydraulic noise. It was time to get into the zone. (Raz) “Play my battle track, if this be the end, I will make it such an end to suit my death. Juno Reactor, Navras.”
The song began playing in his headset, making his pulse run deep, and course hard through his veins. The bloodwrath was growing within, the arcane powers starting to spark around his ExoSuit. The beast within was growing. (HUD) “Target acquired.” Razuken was at the edge of the SkyCastle, passing through an open shield. He lept into the air, toward a passerby enemy aircraft. *pop! WHIIIIIRRRRRR* So launched his multi-purpose pneumatic claw, a strong cord reaching out and attaching itself to the hull of the enemy aircraft.
Reeling in, and with much to surprise of the pilot, Razuken firmly planted his feet on the hull of the aircraft, like a cowboy riding a mustang, yet needing to be broken. And broke he did, for Razuken aimed his 20 revolver cannon at the cockpit and open fired, point blank killing the pilot, spattering blood all over the glass. It was time to take this pony for a ride. Using his weight, he steered it toward the direction of the incoming Deathstrike missiles, letting it freefall and glide until it grew too slow. He retracted his claw and brought his hands up, closing his eyes and falling backwards off of the aircraft, saying to himself amidst the song. “I live for this.” At that key moment between too long and not long enough, the jet propulsion engaged and he was off at the speed of 320 kph. (HUD) “Target aquired, multiple targets. Predicting trajectory.” The battleLINK forwarded the footage directly to Izu and the bridge. It was nerve-racking. (Raz) “Izu, now would be a good time to release the JACKv2 drones. Get me some cover out here.” Izu tapped the screen before him. (Izu) “All bays cleared for launch. Give the man some help!” Dozens of trained officers ran into a virtual reality bay and buckled in, ready to program the functions into the drones. (Izu) “Priority one. Take out those Deathstrike missiles, and cover Razuken.”The JACKv2 drones launched within moments from the right wing of the SkyCastle, maneuvering up, below, and around to meet Razuken at the end of the thrusters, but it was nearly too late. (Raz) “Take the missiles in the rear, ive got this one. We only have seconds!” He locked on, the song growing into its peaceful state, feeling the calmness flow over him. It was getting too close.
The JACKv2’s were already taking down others in mid-air, but this one was just too close, too fast. Razuken came to land on the side of a platform, several hundred meters away. “Time to use this baby, Charge the solar arm cannon.” All the power that was in the suit was diverted to the cannon on his arm. He immediately fired at the incoming missile… but nothing. “Shit! Not enough power!” With his urgent feelings, he rushed a powerful energy from within his soul into the suit and to the cannon. It finally fired, but too little to late. The missile was already at the main thrusters. The beam hit the missile, causing it to make an immense explosion, just before impacting the thrusters. The shockwave reverberated throughout the SkyCastle, and the thrusters… stopped. It was like the feeling you get when you travel up stairs at night, and your foot falls through the air, expecting that last step at the top of the stairs… The suprise in the darkness. That same gut-wrenching feeling was in everyone’s stomach. Razuken flew up into the air, hitting debris along the way, trying to regain control of his suit.
(Yok) “We lost the thrusters! They arent responding!” Izu, amidst the screaming of officers and crewmen starting to float into the air picked up the comms, hoping that anyone was hearing. His voice was grave, and it was deep. (Izu) “This is Izu Carrendar of the SkyCastle.. we are going down. Boys… if you hear this message, I love you very much. Charlotte, take care of them, please. I’ll say hello to mum for you..” Izu placed the comm on the holo-platform before him and simply sat back in the chair, crossing his legs and popping up another coffee, and sipping away, though it was splashing into the air from the increasing velocity of the fall.
Azamar and Milly were screaming as they floated a few feet into the air, with terror across their faces. The SkyCastle, a mass of floating land, was falling straight into the city. The impact was like a bandaid being ripped off, sudden, and painful. Razuken was clinging onto the courtyard grass with his claw when the land mass connected with the ground below, crushing buildings, and killing thousands upon millions of souls below. Razuken’s heart broke. He could hear their souls screaming out in injustice. The blood was like a nightmare in his eyes, the gallons upon gallons of blood that were simply spilled like a careless child spilling a pitcher of water. The universe was becoming imbalanced, and he felt it deep within his heart. He cried out loud as the impact finally reached him, his tears streaming with the pain of those lost below. Dozens of airdocks imploded, completely destroyed. Hex sheilds started to come apart, and the old ruins crumbled atop the land mass. The hydraulic impact-absorbtion system activated, and supressed the damage to most of the major portions of the SkyCastle. Hundreds of the lower thrusters were lost, but the main thrusters remained, but were damaged because of the missile strike. The railguns were solid in place, but there was no hope for many lost in the docks. Only a few remained. Thousands inside the SkyCastle were either instantly killed, or severely injured.
On the bridge, Izu was waking up covered in a pile of rubble and wires. *coughs violently* (Izu) “Shit…” Izu was pinned in the rubble. Cries rang out through the halls and rooms. Wails of men in their death throes. His left leg was in an immense amount of pain, pinned down by a large chunk of concrete that fell from above. Crewmen ran up to Izu and began to remove the rubble from him, careful to see to his leg. (Crewmen) “Are you alright sir? Let’s take him to the infirmiry, he has a broken leg. What about the others? Leave them.. there is nothing we can do.”
Izu drifted into darkness, passing into deep unconsciousness from the immense pain.
Next segment is played by CharlotteCarrendar as Lore and Izu:
~Dream sequence~
In the light fog that rolled across the wind swept mountain crest, stood a woman. Her robes were like that of gossamer, the very breeze from the sea lifted and filled the fabric to fullness, like the very sails of a majestic ship. Hair the colour of blood, flowed about her face and framed it in a haunting manner. Almost fluid like that of water that swirled and rose like a mist over the rocks below. In this setting, the grown man that was Izu Carrendar would find himself. As his own time was racked by wars brought by Chaos, so to did his Mother once stand to defend against a similar foe. Was she aware of his presence? Did he know that what he was witnessing was but a moment in time, that mirrored his own? A voice spoke from the silouhette that stood upon the cliff edge. In the distance, the fires of war did rage, and with darkened jade coloured eyes, Lorelei would give her son words, that he knew were meant just for him.
“No matter how great or prideful we are, there comes a time when we must make a choice in this life, Son. Grasp onto it tightly with both hands. Stare into death and then laugh, for the folley to even consider that we would surrender under distress is a grave miscalculation on their part.”
Turning slowly, Izu would come to see the burning light that blazed within the eyes and heart of his mother, while the background was a scene of devastation and war.
“As in my time, and in yours, we face a common enemy. Those that seek to destroy all, not in the name of Chaos, but rather they simply want to watch the world burn.”
Slowly she walked towards him, closing the distance between them. She reached out, her hand like that of a ghost – transparent. The way she gestured with her hand, the expression on her face, was one he would remember. Love – absolute.
“I have always been at your side, my Son. Through the years after my death, I walked the planes, and though while I could not speak to you as a physical presence, I did so project my undying love to you and your children.”
Lorelei paused, and then continued. “You have not yet fufilled your purpose, and until that day, your father and I await you with open arms.”
As the scene started to dissolve into that of a swirling mist, her voice would say the words, he would have wished for all his life.
“I’m proud of you.”
~End Dream Sequence~
(Meanwhile upstairs on the engineering deck)
Azamar and Milly, to be surprised, were just fine. The paper and junk that littered the floor broke the fall from both. (Milly) “Azamar…” (Azamar) “Milly? You are ok?” (M) “No… I… *gasp* I am NOT ok.” (A) “What is it Milly? Where are you? Its so dark..” (M) *gasps* “Gerroff-a-me you big oaf!” (A) “Sorry! I didn’t know I was on top of you!” Azamar removed himself from on top of Milly, and took her hand to drag her to her feet. After they both dusted off, the lights started to flicker back on. Azamar looked around, and saw the cannon and battery banks. “Wow, Milly, Look! The Cannon is still undamaged! The battery banks are ok too!” (M) “Report that to the Captain!” (A) “I cant.. the comms are down. Hmm…” Azamar went to a nearby panel and accessed the mainframe for the JACKv2 drones that were used to construct part of the cannon. He programmed a detail to repair the comnet and get a status on sheild repair and thrusters. Azamar turned to Milly. “We will find out what the damage is when we get the report here in a few minutes.”
Outside, the JACKv2 attack drones were still in defense mode, constantly roaming around the SkyCastle and covering the repair drones. To anyone on the outside, it would have seemed like this was the end of the SkyCastle. Yet, this was not the case. The SkyCastle was down, but certainly not out. Razuken stood up, his feelings still reverberating around him in the form of an arcane spark. The demon inside was growing, and he had to control it. His angelic side had to balance out. Everything that had happened up to this point was leading him to a path of destruction. It was time to shift gears. “So many lives.. simply snuffed out… so many potential lives.. all the happy memories… all of the future potential… gone. Children, Women, Men, animals, plants, insects, all destroyed in a mere few seconds. All that life… all this death…”Razuken felt that his power reserve was diminished from the single use of the cannon. “I need to recharge.. Computer. Do a scan of the hull and give me status of living crewmembers, starting with Izu.” The HUD brought up a hull update. It was worse than he had thought. Then Izu Carrendar’s file came up. (HUD) “Izu Carrendar currently in the infirmary with a broken bone, and hemorrhaging in his abdomen, currently comatose and in critical condition. Admitted 4 minutes ago.”(Raz) “Oh no.. Izu..” Razuken ran to the elevator that he used to get onto the deck, which was now covered in debris and rubble from the surrounding ruins. The elevator was partially crushed and inoperable. He scanned it for a second and then placed his hands on the doorway. Using his augmented strength, he quickly ripped them apart and jumped down the elevator shaft. He harpooned his claw to the side of the wall and reeled himself down to the infirmary level.
(On the infirmary level)
Nurses and a single doctor surrounded Izu, unaware of his comatose state being influenced by a visit from the other side of the planes of existance. There was no method they could use to fix his condition. Most of the medical equipment had been destroyed. Screams of surprise rang out in the hallway as the elevator doors ripped off, and made way to the figure of Razuken. A strong presence was felt here. Razuken felt that Izu was nearby, and went to him, stopping just before his room and un-suiting. He moved quickly to his side, pushing away the doctors and nurses. Razuken looked at them with sharp, red eyes, his face showing veins of black. In a two-tone bass voice he spoke urgently, “Leave him to me. Go.”Without a word, the Doctors and nurses made scarce. Razuken needed to empty his arcane magic upon Izu, in effect to heal him. It was a mutual balance. But the presence grew stronger. Izu’s head moved from side to side, as if he were having a nightmare. Razuken hovered his hands over Izu’s body, feeling the blood flooding in his abdomen, and the broken bones in his leg. Chanting in the demonic tongue, Razuken let the magic flow from his fingertips, small tendrils of red and black, mixed with a touch of white moved to and fro across Izu, and seemed to absorb into him. The bones and flesh cracked and moved as they formed back together. The blood in his abdomen scattering into other parts to be recycled made way for a healing of the wound. Yet he was still comatose. Razuken felt the presence very strongly now, the room beginning to warp around him, his vision becoming strained. His power was now balancing, but there was something else there. He closed his eyes, and there, for a flash, the face of a woman, hair of blood, and eyes of jade, dressed in the linen of pure white. At this point, the presence disappeared from him and Izu came to.
Izu awoke, slowly coming out of a dense fog and blurry vision. He looked up and saw a figure. Without thinking he spoke,“Mom?” When his vision cleared up, he only saw his friend Razuken, standing aside. “What did I just say? Wait.. my leg.. its better…” Izu looked at Razuken, who was still panting. “You are not too far from our kind, are you?” Razuken smiled and scoffed. “Now who would want to be a bloody spider? I am demon-kind and angel-kind… But enough of this… You need to take a look at this..” Razuken handed over the headset to Izu. What he would see is the SkyCastle from an outside view, crushing part of the city of Lorewall. Izu’s face grew to that of anger, and disgust. “I won’t let them defile this land… I will show them what fear is…” Izu looked up with a clenched fist. “I will bring honor to our name… Mom..”
(Hours later)
(Yok) “Captain… the thrusters are back online, but we can only utilize 40%. We will be flying low. The JACKv2 drones were undetectable during the repair. The Solar Cannon is at 100% charge.” (Izu)”Good. Azamar, is the status of the Solar Cannon 100%?” (Az) “100% and fully calibrated, sir.” Izu was sitting in the Commanding chair once again, the SkyCastle at his fingertips. Razuken had charged his suit, and the bodies of the fallen were honorably placed in the morgue. It was time to make a comeback. (Izu) “Yok, ready the comms after our next attack. Wide broadcast. Amplify it through our filters and have our largest dish focused on the ships in space. I want everyone to hear this.. Alright everyone.. battlestations.. For Neumaeus… For Lorewall…” The ship lit up blue where there was not broken pieces, and the hex shield came to life again. The thrusters fired up slowly and were giving the SkyCastle a massive heave to regain being level. (Yok) “Captain, we are floating. Turning the ship toward the front lines of the enemy.” Izu entered in the trajectory of the cannon fire, swiping his hand left and right, marking targets. Tanks, Cannons, seige weapons, infantry. Everything was there, and Izu wanted it all. A growl emanated from deep within his gut as he shouted in a lusty battlecry,“FIRE!” The angle was correct, the gun positioned low. The computers adjusted the trajectory, and the thrusters responded. Razuken stood behind the command monitor, his arms crossed, waiting to see the sheer beautiful precision of death itself. A sound of a train passing by is what it sounded like, coupled with an approaching storm. The thrusters began turning as the diodes reached arc capacity. The magneto-cannons launched. In this very moment, every living thing outside would hear the charge, sounding like a buzzing electical sweep, echoing in a hallway, eerie and fear-inducing. It was followed with exactly two seconds of complete silence. Not a single sound could be heard.
Then, just as quickly, a constant flash, like looking directly into the sun, followed by the warped sound of a behemoth thunderclap, constantly rolling. For 45 seconds, the beam streaked across the lines, from a distance of several kilometers. It moved from one side to the other. It was in hopes of destroying most of the ground forces that threatened. To buy time. To demoralize. The EMP resulting from the beam would effectively fry any electronic equipment within a waning diameter from the center of the beam.
Izu let it sink in. No doubt the enemy was watching all this unfold. He tapped a button on the side of his headset and linked him to the comms, then activated the camera with a gentle touch. He had the look of anger and madness in his eyes and face, smiling hellishly. (Izu over the comnet) “In this time of war and death, you look into my eyes and see, not a man who is afraid, but a man who is prepared. I am prepared to release our people from the clutches of this menace who treads on our land, who treads on our lives, and who is responsible for the deaths of millions of souls. It is in this selfish endeavour that your fight is futile. What do you fight for? Money? God? Power? None of these is as powerful as the reason why I still stand before you. I fight because of Love, because of Hope, because of responsibility. I stand here before you now, truly, unafraid. Why? I stand here without fear because, I remember. I remeber that I am here, not because of the path that lies before me, but because of the path that lays behind me. I remember that for thousands of years, we have fought to preserve alive our people in the face of certain destruction. I remember that for thousands of years, armies have been sent to anihillate us. But after over these thousands of years, I remember that which matters most. WE ARE STILL HERE! We will shake the foundations of your core, from snowy mountain, to desolate valley. This is our message to you…” Izu’s voice lept down an octave to a deep roar, “WE ARE NOT AFRIAD!”Cheering sounded in the background, millions of forces felt revived and motivated, to keep fighting until the end without fail.
“On no..” Raven replied back quickly. “Your lovely brother Klaus had given me this amazing dress.” She added with a smile. Of course being a witch Raven loved the classics too. Just because it reminded her so much of her mother. The beautiful women her mother was she always did dress with the classic fancy clothing, and tonight that mirrored from the inside and out of Raven. “By the way, where is your brother Klaus?” Raven said as she furrowed her brows before arching her left one. “Being that it is his party I would expe-..” The voice of Elijah had interrupted her sentence as she couldn’t continue further. Bringing her attention towards Elijah away from Rebekah Raven could sense that he was in some sort of deep thinking, and the tone of his voice ringed with flinty. Before she could even ask if everything was okay Elijah had already departed away from herself and Rebekah. “Is Elijah okay?..”Raven spoke softly as she waited patiently for a response from Rebekah.
Enjoy the party? Those words rang out but to Rebekah it didn’t bring the solace that were intended, even as he stroked her cheek to give reassurance. Naturally her forehead creased slightly as she realized she was about to be left behind with Raven, who seemed intent on finding Klaus. Why was everyone so mad keen to spend time with her brother? Half the time people couldn’t get far enough away from him.
In between watching her brother Elijah depart, she had Raven go on about how Klaus had provided her with the dress for the evening. Rebekah stopped for a moment and gave this some thought. Just how many women was her brother pleasing? She knew about Caroline, but Raven too? She wanted to dismiss that thought right off the bat.
Having her brother leave her side, she had no choice but to address Raven.
“As my brother Elijah said, he had some business to attend too.” Rebekah maintained a stiff upper lip, though inside she felt dissapointed that he left her behind. Then, she suddenly got a very wicked idea. A reason to smile. Brightening she said.
“If you seek my brother Klaus, why not try the den? The place where he keeps his art and….other things of interest.”
In a way this was her own act to start the drama for the evening. If he had some other girl caught up in his web, why not send in another and make it a threesome. She pointed towards the den door. “That way, I believe.” Rebekah took another sip of her champagne and waited for Raven to go find her brother.
Elijah wrapped his hand around the handle of the door to where Klaus may have been. He couldn’t hear a single word inside of the room; not even with his superior senses. The door rattled as he tried to open it. It was jammed? No, it was sealed. He removed his hand from the door as an aura forced him not to enter. It was as if he was denied access into someone’s home. Elijah took a step back; looking at the door with impassive eyes. “What is this,” He began to say as he glared at the door. He was tempted to shatter the very door creatively if he must. He took time to think about the scenario. Had Klaus gotten a witch to spell this room off or either he was entrapped by a powerful witch. “A boundary spell.” H finished as his eyes squinted. He would turn around to the direction where he last left his sister. He would appear behind Raven; as he looked into Rebekah’s eyes. He hadn’t listened in on the two; thus he didn’t know what was happening really. Too focused on trying to figure out the dilemma at hand. “Excuse me,” He would plant a hand on Raven’s shoulder as he stepped out from behind her shadow. “If I could steal Rebekah from you for the moment.” He stated; more of a ‘this is happening’ other than a request.
Tatia was entertained by his attitude. Seeing as he was finally relaxing his posture, she couldn’t help but laugh at his ‘knowledge’ of her. Oh love, come now, your mother made me for a special reason. You can’t hide your thoughtsPausing for a moment to look him up and down. Or…your desires. Seeing as he was already losing is control, she placed a small dainty hand on his chest and running up to his neck and cheeks. Her thumb of her hand caressed the dark veins of his under eyes. I could never forget what a sexual animal you are, darling. As still, their bodies were so close together, she pulled her hand back and smirked. Curious love, last time someone tried to pull my heart out, I walked away with his heart instead. A low breathe escaped her lushes lips. Backing away from him and looked at his old literature books and spell books. Old and wise, his mind had become. She wanted to knock him out of his crazed state of mind and make him see how real she was. Walking around his desk, she found a pencil and thought about the oldest trick in the book, would be to slap or pinch someone out of their daze. Tatia had another method in mind. Taking the thin wood writing utensil, Tatia walk back to Klaus, his eyes still in his wolf glowing haze. Pulling the pencil up to his neck, and cutting it. Then, bringing the pencil back to her finger, she pressed the pencil to her skin and pierced it. As the blood escaped her wound and his, she placed her finger to his lips and coated his lower lip with a line of blood. With the same finger, she dabbed it with his blood from his neck and brought it to her lips, sucking on her finger, when it finally healed. I didn’t really need your blood to heal, love. I heal perfectly fine, but I missed your taste. Now, I have to get going, don’t want to miss your spectacular party, darling. I hope that was proof enough that I as as real as your heart has missed me. With a last smile, she kissed his cheek and walked to the door. She had felt the boundary shake a tad with someone trying to get in. She knew very well who that someone was. Elijah, her warm hearted Original. As the boundary spell opened and unlocked the room, she walked out and disappeared into the hall ways before anyone could detect her. She had a flash of memories from a the type before she was killed for sacrifice.
Seeing her brother Elijah suddenly appear behind Raven caught Rebekah off guard. Wasn’t he just in a hurry to attend to some business? Her curiosity mounted as Elijah placed a hand on Raven’s shoulder and came out from behind her.
“If I could steal Rebekah from you for the moment.” The tone of his voice was more of the issuing of a command, than simply asking. Naturally, Rebekah obliged and stepped towards her brother, then going off in the opposite direction of Klaus’s den to speak to Elijah.
Something weird was definitely going on. Although Rebekah had no abilities with magic as a vampire, she had enough of an instinct to pick up on the ill feeling radiated off her own kin. With the chatter from the other party guests creating something of a din in the background, Rebekah spoke in a hushed tone, so as not to be heard by the other guests.
“Care to enlighten me, dear brother as to what the devil is going on?”
Rebekah’s eyes flickered and for a moment she glanced back at Raven, before turning her attentions back to her brother.
“What is it with that girl? Apparently, our darling brother bought her the gown she wears. Is this his new hobby in keeping a harem of leggy lovelies; including that blonde Caroline?” It was no secret for Rebekah’s distaste for the cheerful blonde. What on earth her brother saw in her remained a mystery. So far this party had not been as dynamic as she had hoped. Course, the real drama had yet to be played out.
As Caroline drove a bit in a rush to the Mikaelson home, she felt, a strong presence. Shaking it off, she got out of the car as soon as Caroline pulled in for the Valet to ask for the key to part the car. Gabbing her bags and everything she needed and headed for the back entrance of the house, where all the waiters and caterer entered. Coming in, she could hear the music and see a few people that were dressed so elegantly. Even the mayor was here. Caroline’s mom must be somewhere patrolling the area. Elena went to take the back stairs of the house and went up to her room. Knowing Caroline would be right behind her or maybe found her mom. Walking up the stairs with caution, she finally reached her room, but had a sudden feeling of being followed. Maybe it was Jenna? Her mind thought to herself, but a scared side of her thought it might be Tatia. Opening the door to her room slow and looking around. No one was in the room.
A sigh a relief escaped and she left the door with a slight crack, so Caroline could come in and know which was her room. Placing everything on the bed, she saw 2 boxes on the bed. Curious, she opened one that was for her. It was a dress from Klaus. It was nice and looked really expensive. She felt bad if she didn’t were his dress, he was being nice for some reason and let her go out dress shopping. Then again, why would she let them go out dress shopping? It was all so weird. She sighed and just decided to go with the dress she bought. She already felt comfortable wearing and had gotten everything for it. Feeling frustrated, she decided to just get ready.
His eyes locked on Rebekah before he followed her; seeming as if he had a lot on his mind. He had given Raven a smile of reassurance, “Thank you.” He stated as he had left her there. Not really gentlemen like, but his family seemed to be in the midst of something. He had to find out what it was; or he feared the worse for them all. “It occurs to me that there has been a spell, placed on Niklaus’s den.” He stated as he stood before Rebekah. He was cut off by the sudden case of jealousy from Rebekah. He could hear it in her voice. He knew that someone was going to get a bite of her temper tonight. “Let’s not be petty, Rebekah. This shouldn’t be a surprise to you.” He said as if saying Klaus had always done something such as this. “Now, back to the urgent discomfort that may of transpired here tonight.” He took a step forward. “I had returned to Mystic Falls, after my investigations had grown cold. It appears to me, during that time period. Someone must’ve had caught on to what I was doing. Therefore, instead of me finding what I was looking for. It had already found me and followed me here.” He squints his eyes as he thought about the treachery that could take place amongst his family if they allowed it. Leave it up to him to be the bonding glue; if need be. “There are-“ He was cut off by the sound of the den opening. He could finally hear in that particular area. He turned his head slightly to his right to take sight of the room. It was open.
Caroline had pulled up and was surprised when her door was opened by a young man. Okay, now that was posh, a valet for a party? Klaus was really not holding back on this party. What she kept on wondering was, why? What was the man who was always a step ahead of them really up too? Shaking her head, she climbed out, grabbed her bags and handed the key. “Don’t even think about getting a scratch on my car otherwise I’ll kill you,” she said looking all serious until she gave him a wink with a playful smile which made the guy laugh as he climbed in and drove her car. She had seen Elena go round the back and so, she was quick to follow her lead.
Caroline smiled as she could hear the music and walking further in, she could see how busy it was and how elegantly everyone was dressed. She went into the kitchen and tried some canapés. She nodded and grabbed two glasses of champagne. She overheard a few commenting on how amazing the place was decorated and what a good job Klaus had done. She rolled her eyes before heading up the backstairs. She walked along the corridor, passing the empty rooms until she found the one that was slightly ajar. She knocked before entering and smiled as she closed the door.
Caroline saw Elena was in her dress and smiled. “You look amazing, Elena!” she said happily. Though, her best friend didn’t seem too happy. More frustrated. “I’ve come to the rescue and brought some champagne,” she added as she walked over and handed her a glass. “Now, sit down and I shall do your hair,” she said. “Then after you can knock the Salvatores down with how breathtaking you’re going to be,” she added with a wink. However, her eyes then fell upon the two boxes. One was already opened. “Hmm, have I missed something?” She asked.
Jenna was watching everything unfold. She didn’t mean to scare her, but things were crazy on the other side. She had a talk with Bonnie’s grandmother and things were about to change. She watched Elena come into the room and Caroline. Jenna waved at Elena as she sat down on the bed. You look amazing honey. She raised her wine glass at her as a ‘cheers’. Looking at Caroline, she hoped that she could see her. It would make things to much better. Maybe things would change after this whole bad hold on her body would let go.Your mom would be so proud of you.
As Elena had slid her gowned on and zipped it, changed her shoes, added cream, and sprayed her perfume; she turned to look at Caroline as she came in. She smiled and blushed a little. Taking a glass she had for water, she poured some in her cup, taking a drink feeling a little better. A sigh escaped her lips and remembering when she had to get ready for the founders ball and Jenna had did her hair. As soon as she turned to look back at Caroline, Jenna was waving and standing by the wall and then sat on the bed. A smile spread on her lips and she turned Caroline to see. Of course, she couldn’t, could she.“Caroline, Jenna is here. She walked up to her and held her hand out, hoping that she could just hug her once. Just once, and maybe cry and hold her, but now wasn’t the time do do all that. She dropped her hand, before the tears that were threatening to fall actually feel. Sitting down in the chair so Caroline could do her hair. “I’m so happy your here Jenna, you and Caroline are what I need right now. I am just so…I am going insane. She sighed and watch as Caroline worked her magic. She couldn’t help but think about how things had gotten so screwed up. She hoped this ball was just a little normal, just for a few minutes, so she could dace with Stefan or Damon.
Bonnie had been dressed and gotten ready as she had many thoughts trailing through her mind yet seemed to still place a small smile on her face as she made her way through the crowds of people. She was glad Elena had seen Jenna for she needed some family at the time. Things were strange and she needed to get to the bottom of it. Why had Klaus been acting so strange lately.
Caroline smiled and clinked their glasses before Elena had a sip and she had a sip herself. “Elena, what are you doing?” She asked as she looked back to the boxes. “I’ve already seen the boxes hence why I’ve asked you if I’ve missed something,” she said feeling confused. Was Elena going to explain? However, what she got was unexpected. It was what she had mentioned earlier… Seeing her aunt Jenna. She looked up from the boxes but couldn’t see anything. “Hi, Jenna,” she said, even though she couldn’t see her. She then watched what Elena did and it seemed so weird. Was her friend going insane or had Jenna somehow found a way to show herself to Elena? Caroline was hoping it was the latter. It had to be! Though, given the circumstances of being held prisoner by Klaus and not being able to go out… Well, that would drive anyone insane. She thought about opening the box but seeing Elena take her seat, she didn’t and went over to her. She heard what Elena said and sighed, “You’re not going insane, Elena,” she said. “There must be a logical explanation as to why you are able to see Jenna,” she added. Caroline then cracked on with working her magic and as she did, hearing Elena mention Jenna again made her think about her mother. Would she be there? She had to be if everyone else was. Question was: would her mom become trigger happy again, if they were to meet? She shook her head, no, not at the party. Caroline was still trying to believe it hadn’t been her mom and just a trick of her imagination because her life had become boring without her best friends. “It’s Klaus’ fault that we’re all going insane” she said without thinking. “And, yes, I did mean me as well,” she added as she finished. “Anyways, what do you think, Elena?” She asked. Her magic was done. She just hoped Elena liked it. “Does it get your approval too, Jenna?” She added.
“It occurs to me that there has been a spell, placed on Niklaus’s den.”
Elijah’s words cut her off as she was about to go on a rant about how she felt about the gaggle of school girls that were making her life unbearable. Rebekah let out an exasperated sigh as she could hear the chatter of girls in the background. Her attention was of course brought back around to her brother, when he moved in closer. Rebekah snapped her jaw shut as her eyes narrowed. ~Magic?~
“I had returned to Mystic Falls, after my investigations had grown cold. It appears to me, during that time period. Someone must’ve had caught on to what I was doing. Therefore, instead of me finding what I was looking for. It had already found me and followed me here.”
This brought out the suspicious look from his younger sister, as her eyes darted around the room, wondering just who he meant. Did this have anything to do with the fact there had been a spell placed on Niklaus’s den? Just who had turned up unannounced, to upstage her brother? So many questions ran through her mind and she wondered why she couldn’t pick up on it.
“Followed you here? From New Orleans?” Was it a woman perhaps? There was enough of them here, and it could be anyone. She was about to ask another question, when her brother again silenced her as his next remark was cut off.
“There are-“
“There are what?”
Elijah turned his head towards the den door, and Rebekah naturally turned her attentions to it as well. So it was open. The youngest Mikaleson couldn’t help herself.
[I]Seeing Elena reach for her, broke her heart. She wanted to hug her, to touch her in any way to comfort her. Getting up from the bed she wiped a tear of her cheek and moved closer to the girls. Smiling at Caroline greetings her it was fun how that made her feel a little more human. Drinking the rest of her wine she put the glass down and let out a breath. Tell Caroline her mom is her and looking for her. And the attack on her at her home wasn’t her mom. It was that unknown for that everyone can feel. looking at Elena she could tell that she felt it to. Vampires and witches alike could feel the change in the atmosphere. Things weret going to be easy in next few days that lay ahead. Caroline aren’t you going to get dressed? Come on she needs to be down there. Jeremy is out there looking for you Elena. Bonnie just got down stairs to and is scouting for Jeremy. Make her an up do.will look great with get facial features. Ill see you later ok. Jenna looked at Elena and gave her a smile that would let her know that she wasn’t leaving far.
Elijah could hear the flames licking the firewood within the fireplace; inside of Klaus’s den. He could even hear feet shuffling within the den. It was clear to him now that a spell had been used to deprive him and anyone else of listening in. He looked toward Rebekah once more, before deciding to head toward the den. “This may be problematic…” He murmured in a low tone as he proceeded toward the den.Upon entering the den; Elijah set eyes on Klaus. He would stare at his brother for a small amount of time. He hadn’t seen him in awhile. He didn’t expect any changes from him, but it was always good to see family. He waited for Klaus to acknowledge his presence, before actually surprising him with his sudden appearance.
Klaus was still barely convinced that he was truly seeing Tatia, when she cut him and tasted his blood. Before he could speak again she was gone. Although he was ready to believe he’d imagined that, she had walked out, rather than vanishing. He was about to follow after her when he stepped into Elijah in the door way. He was speechless for a long moment.
……Did you see….. He wasn’t sure how he would sound, and if he had even seen what he saw in the first place. He placed a hand on Elijah’s shoulder. Nevermind. It’s good to have you back Brother….let’s go and share a drink to you safe return. Leading Elijah out, he had decided to not say anything yet, until he was sure what had happened. He looked behind Elijah and saw Rebekah looking half too good to be bothered, and half concerned. It caused him a moment of warmth and he smiled despite himself. You are an absolute vision dear Sistah. Come and share a drink with your Brothers. A shame that Kol found other matters of more importance than his Family, but that does not mean we cannot enjoy tonight. He instinctively looked back into the empty den to be sure she wasn’t there anymore. He spoke absently. Let’s make it a stiff one, eh?……
When he turned back to face them, he had forced another warm smile but the shock was still in his eyes. He continued to search the party crowd for Tatia. Shaking it off, he gestured towards the open Bar that was setup in the yard. Shall we?……
Rebekah was already bored. Bored with the music, the terrible dresses worn by the town’s elite and the fact that there was no real eye candy for her to amuse herself with. Just another night in a fancy frock and no one to enjoy it with. As a waiter passed she snatched up another glass of champagne, setting down her empty. Thinking that the fun dramas she anticipated were not going to happen, she tipped back her glass and took a long sip of her drink before realizing that her brother Klaus had now sought her out.
You are an absolute vision dear Sistah. Come and share a drink with your Brothers.
She tilted her half drunk glass back and forth, then set it on yet another passing tray as she turned to face Klaus and Elijah head on. Rebekah had to admit, she found it odd he wanted to spend quality time with family and not chasing after Caroline’s skirt. What could have possibly brought this on?
A shame that Kol found other matters of more importance than his Family, but that does not mean we cannot enjoy tonight.
With a half smile, Rebekah added. “I am sure Kol would have made the effort to be here, had things not been holding him up in New Orleans.” Course, she knew what she was speaking about, since they kept in constant communication with each other. It was not lost on Rebekah that Klaus found something of interest enough to make his head turn back towards the den, and she happened to glance over his shoulder at the empty room. Needless to say something happened in there, for his next remark made that a sure thing. He wanted a stiff drink. Now, just who had ruffled his feathers, one might ask. Rebekah simply shrugged her shoulders and fell into line to go out to the bar in the yard. No doubt whoever it was, was going to make themselves known real soon.
Shall we?
“After you, dear Brother.”
She gave Elijah a solemn look before following Klaus outside.
The Double K Ranch is the home of The Kirk Family. They breed and raise Palomino and Painted Horses and their breeding stock is the best in the country.
Current Residents:
Tanya Kirk – Owner
Randy Kirk Jr – Ranch Foreman and Tanya’s step-son
Caroline Kirk – Tanya’s eldest daughter
Nina Kirk – Tanya’s youngest daughter
Other Staff:
Sadie Jenkins – housekeeper
Kyle Matthews – Ranch Hand/Horse Trainer/Rodeo Star
Daniel Garrison – Ranch Hand/Horse Trainer/Maintenance
It was early morning. A light dew covered the grounds of the Double K Ranch. One would think there was no one awake as most of the lights were still out, except in the kitchen.
But as it was for farm life, there was no rest for those who truly desired to work.
Sadie was in the kitchen, beginning the makings for breakfast. She had been the Kirk’s cook and housekeeper for a long time and knew the ins and outs of the family. Tanya, who’d been up long before dawn, was currently out in the fields, monitoring the horses as they were released from their stalls to do their running for the day. She also took the time to examine the fences to make sure none were in need of repair.
Riding back to the ranch, she pulled up outside the barn, where a couple of the ranch hands were loading hay bales into a trailer to take out to the horses.
“Morning Missus Kirk.”
“Morning, Drew.”
“Mornin Missus Kirk.”
“Morning, Daniel. Need you to check the South Paddock. Fence is kind of shaky out that way.”
“Want me to take care of Argo for ya?” Drew asked.
“I appreciate it. Make sure he gets a brushdown and a bag of oats.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Tipping her hat, she strode up to the house and inside. The smell of eggs, bacon and coffee struck her immediately and she grinned. She knew her children would be awake soon if Sadie was cooking. Despite the fact it was summer vacation, Sadie’s cooking always brought them down early.
She waltzed into the kitchen to see Sadie bent over at the oven, pulling out a pan of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Tanya pulled out her cup and poured herself a cup of coffee.
“You were up early this morning.” Sadie stated as she knifed icing onto the buns.
“Wanted to check the fences when I sent the horses out for their run. The south paddock needs a looksie. I told Daniel to go and give it a look.”
“Rodeo coming up this weekend. Think you’re ready?”
“Kyle’s been working his ass off. Double K will place again this year. I’m sure of that.”
“And Nina?”
“The girl is a natural. I see another trophy on the shelf this weekend.”
“Takes after her daddy.”
“I’m proud of her. I know Randy would be too.” Tanya smiled, her tone wistful as she thought of her husband.
“Caroline’s got another one of them acting plays Friday evenin.”
Tanya thought of her eldest daughter with a smile. Caroline certainly turned out to be as headstrong as her mother, knowing what she wanted and going after it. Tanya had tried to get Caroline interested in horses, but the girl just was having none of that. The girl tolerated the animals on the ranch but she didn’t have longterm goals to work with them like her younger sister did. “Which one did she try out for?”
“The lead, what else? Didn’t get it though from what I heard.”
“Was she disappointed?” Tanya cringed. Caroline’s anger was just as legendary as her acting skills.
“For all of 5 minutes. Then I smacked her in the back of the head and told her to get a grip and make the role she did get her own.”
“What was the part?”
“Oh they’re doin that musical, ‘Grease’. She got the role of Frenchie.”
“Oh she’ll be fantastic!” Tanya grinned as she sipped her coffee. She had her doubts when Caroline had told her that she wanted to be an actress. Hollywood was an unforgiving place. But she always encouraged her children to follow their dreams, no matter what they were.
“That’s what I told her.” Sadie chuckled. “Well, sit and eat. Kids should be awake soon and you know they always steal your food off your plate when you ain’t lookin.”
“True.” Tanya chuckled, moving to sit at the table.
The sounds of whinnying horses filled the air while Daniel walked through the barn silently as the suns rays began to kiss the earth once again. Already the well built teenager was at work feeding the horses their grain and hay within the barn. Without a sound he turned and looked to the left then the right before starting to hum to himself while walking from stall to stall dumping the required grain into the horses feed buckets. Daniel Garrison was a dedicated and hard worker as his parents had brought him up with strong work ethics. Though when they passed on into the after life Daniel was devastated and sought the guidance of the tribe elder. Though he knew the rodeo was coming up Daniel took most of his free time breaking the stallions that refused to be broken over the years though at the cost of several broken ribs among other injuries but to him it was a price well paid. After he had finished the feeding Daniel would walk from the barn and pull out a harmonica before starting to play one of the song’s from his childhood upon the hand crafted instrument that came from his breast pocket. ( [www.youtube.com] ) As he played the horses would fall silent and prick their ears in daniels direction in an effort to hear it better. As he played the harmonica Daniel would gaze out into the morning sky as he finished the song before sighing gently as he put the harmonica away only to get back to work as was his norm. Even when he was sick he would come in and work himself to the very bone if he needed to. Silently he would walk over to the trailer before starting to chuck the bales of hay to drew who was busy stacking them on the trailer to go feed. After having finished that he would smile wanely to the ranch owner and widow Miss Kirk. “Mornin’ Missus Kirk”
It’s the night of the Oscars, with a cavalcade of starlets and actors in their finest suits all applauding as Whoopi Goldberg is up making the announcement for best dramatic actress in a motion picture. Sitting in the audience is Caroline, who has her hair done up in a fancy bun and wearing a dress straight off the catwalks in Milan.
“And the Oscar goes to…Caroline Kirk, for A Reason to Believe!”
The crowd goes wild as Caroline gasps in shock at winning her first academy award. Rising up, she hugs her mother and Brad Pitt….Brad Pitt? That made no sense, but, she starts to make her way to the stage, picking up her skirts as she ascends the stairs, and where Whoopi is holding out the Oscar to the young Caroline. Caroline hugs her and gushes as she goes to make her acceptance speech.
“Oh my god…I can’t believe I won. Who to thank first….Who to thank?’

Dream sequence ends
That shrill sound of the alarm clock buzzes so loudly that a hand comes out from under a white doona and slams down on it a few times. If only she could sleep just a bit longer. The dream was the same one she had had night after night. Rising up like she had just woken from death, Caroline looks about her room which is filled with acting trophies and big posters of her favorite stars and musicals. It was clear she was unlike the other members of her family, whose world revolved around horses and the ranch. Caroline marched to the tune of a different drum. She sometimes wondered if she was adopted.
Caroline washed and dressed herself for the day, in trademark blue jeans and a simple checkered shirt, as she went down to have breakfast with her Momma, Nina and probably Randy. Smelling the scent of cinnamon rolls, she chirped.
“I need a new alarm clock, Momma. Think I broke mine.” She then went to hug her Mother and Sadie, kissing each on the cheek.. “Morning Momma, Morning Miss Sadie.”
Gabriel raised a brow when this Faust figure spoke with a thick and strong German accent and she did not enjoy the idea of cleansing all tainted souls for some are pure and innocent. She inhaled at the sight of the skeleton being reveal from the inside of his lab coat. She thought, “He must be crazy to carry such thing around with him.” With him mentioning the Knights of Salvation, she gripped the hilts of the kusarigama and shifted the weapon’s chain to be balled up beside her, to make sure that she had enough range to protect her and Sarah. Gabriel cringed at the site of him making out with the skeleton, knowing that he was most likely getting off the skeleton’s taste. She thought he was weird for trying to make out with the corpse of bones he apparently name Eliza.
-They say the warrior choose the weapon. However the tale is false the word choose the wielder if the swords soul does not will the user it will not bond well. Charlotte proved this theory as she took the sword in hand immune to its own poison it seemed. She drew the sword from its scabbard and danced with it in blissful beautiful harmony. It was if her and the blade were meant to be as Arren watched closely. She was a student of the sword and an expert in it too boot. Too him she had the marks of what could be a true sword wielder. As she continued to dance with the blades calling this was although to perfect in most beings. He could only wonder if the blade was meant for her perhaps her ancestors perceived this to be. After the dance she sheathed it as if she respected the blade for what it was and respected its body and soul. She had placed it in the box covering it.-
“Well, Arren…that blade knows me. I could feel it in my veins.”
-He smirked as he placed his tea on the stone table pushing the box closer to her as he said.- “it is yours then to keep. Perhaps this was something that was placed in my care to give to you. I can see that the sword has chosen you as its wielder.” -he took his hand from the box as he looked at Charlotte smiling as he was happy that she had found something that could help her in learning of her family.- “If you would like Charlotte. Communing the swords spirit is possible you might be able to meet your Ancestor. Though meditation of course, The best place would be the temple of spirit, Sadly with only one person who knows how to commune with the spirits of the temple you will have to track him down to help you.” -he picked up his cup placing it towards his lips as he took a good sip of it as he looked straight back at her again placing the cup down only to point to her food.- “i suggest you eat and rest before making that journey Charlotte. You have had a long day, I am sure your strength is not where it is at after the trip to the afterlife.” -he look over at one of the Chichagwa’s walking around the broken door trying to put it back up on the slider.-
Rika’s Quarter’s Garden area
-The twins and Anya did jump into the portal only to hear the loud sounds of winds barely able to hear Jalal Anya looked over to see Jalal as he yelled out she couldn’t hear him yet she felt nauseous as they kept moving through the portal. They would end up falling through the portal into a room that had someone inside Anya was getting too sick to notice her surrounding as of yet.-
-Rika had seen the portal she was slowly sipping her as She watched the kids fall through her eyes shot up open seeing Charlotte’s children yet she had no idea who they were. She was more surprised that some kids appeared in her quarter since she was supposed to be relaxing. Rika started shaking looking at all three of them dropping her tea cup to the floor jaw wide open as she watched them. The room they were in was simple it had four walls and sliding Japanese styled doors with one small table and a small bed. You could see the Gardens from the open door.-
-Faust frowned as she didn’t answer him as he wasn’t one to be ignored he looked at her with cold eyes saying in a very stern voice.- “Very well I guess I will have to dispose of you as well.” -He brought his beloved skeleton closer as he placed his hand on it only to speak to it as his hand started to glow in a very dark purplish green aura.- “Black is the colour of womb and tomb”-the skeleton started to chatter a bit from the jaw only to see the aura from his hands started to engulf the bones as he continued his chant.- “We meet at night on the dark of the moon” -the bones of the skeletons started to rattle as jointed seemed to start to pop and crackle as they moved around his chant was going on the aura started to become very intense as he grinned in a psychotic personality.-“White is the colour of bone and ash” -His words almost seemed to be bringing the skeleton to life as he took his hands away letting the chain on his arm lose from its bindings the skeleton seemed to be standing all on its own as he was still chanting.- “To speak to the dead we bathe and fast” -the skeleton that was now standing was looking around still chattering from the jaw. It’s own body seemed to move as a living thing and was growing into something dark and vile the smell of rioting flesh started to come from Faust as he chanted in more feeling seeing the muscle and natural tissue of the skeleton start to form. His voice got louder only to widen his eyes the skies were turning black and green as he continued on.- “Red is the colour of blood and death” -Faust threw up his hands into the air as the skeleton was starting to look more like something that was out of a horror book. The body started to grow skin quickly only to appear as a young woman with long blonde that curled down to her back, she grew clothes from the skin that had formed as wearing a pink German nurses outfit her aura now green. The woman corpse grabbed the scythe from the ground only to wait for the rest of the chant.- “We rub the bones and give them breath!” -as soon as he said that he turned to the corpse only to force her head towards him. His tongue stretched out from his mouth as he kiss completely full on made out with the corpse. The corpse woman’s eyes glowed out into a deep green as Faust kissed his beloved pulling away from her as he yelled out in a war cry.- “SHE LIVES MY BELOVED ELIZA LIVES!” -he grinned only to look over to her placing his arm around her as he seemed to be in sweet lustful bliss looking at his Eliza. – “I am Counting on you Eliza” -Eliza smiled only to looked at Faust as she said.- “of course my Master I Shall feast on your enemies bones and flesh as I enjoy your presents. I live by your will Master.” -Yes it was true Faust just raised the dead he brought back living life from beyond the grave. It seemed this Faust was something more than anyone could possibly imagine.-
Through out the ages, there have been those that have had swords, that have brought them fame and glory, power and respect, others have sadly fallen on their swords, and died with them by their sides. Legends like Excalibur, and of course the legendary singing blades of Lore, which to this day remain lost somewhere in the dead nation of Lacardis. But now it seemed a sword has emerged, that’s power is such that Charlotte could not have possibly understood its significance.
A sword, that was fused with the blood of an ancestor, a sword that can only be wielded by a descendant. In all her years, leading up till now, the journey traveled was one that is a path to completion of a prophecy. This was not just fate, this was destiny, that brought the bebilith to be now holding the prized sword of Randall; The White spider.
Charlotte felt the sing in the sword, the very blood moving throughout it, and marrying with her own. She held it with a natural affinity, and wielded it as though it was one with her, part of her own body. How to get a better understanding, to communicate with the sword on a higher level would require her to seek solace in the Temple. This was not to be trivialized, and after Charlotte had been to the afterlife, she was still weak, and needed nourishment, of the body, and to cleanse herself from the seeping decay of death, that had left a residual mark upon her vessel.
Rising to her feet, she bowed before Arren, before taking the box, and heading inside, first to bathe, and redress then eat something provided by the servants of this realm. She would not disobey the instructions, for this would led her to a time, of quiet reflection and peace, where she could be better attuned to speaking with her dead elder, and harmonize with the sword’s untapped power.
Rika’s Quarter’s Garden area
Charlotte’s children all arrived with a loud thump, hitting the floor and then being entangled with the other. Seven rubbed his head, then his ass, and smirked at Luna for breaking his fall. “You’re fun to land on.” he joked, as Luna sat up dazed.“Ooooo what a pretty place. Eek…dog person, two o’clock. Have we entered the world of the fluffies?’ she whispered to Anya, who may well hold all the answers.
– Slowly the shadows below the raised dogs started to boil soundlessly, while Faust had resurrected what was clearly his favorite corpse. “Now now little death caller, is this little girl so important?” A calm almost joking female voice echoed from the shadows. Soon a woman of dark skin and crimson eyes stepped out of a shadow just behind Sarah and Gabriel. She wore a simple black dress as dark as the shadow she emerged from, and the scent of a demon hung in the air for those that had dealt with such beings before. “I mean really de you expect salvation from taking a small girl watched by demons, or do you not know of the great beasts that watch over her?” the woman asked playfully as she kept an eye on Faust and the female corpse. While Kuria had shown herself to the Faust, and the girls, Imay was closing in on her spot. Just as she finished her couple of question Imay had landed behind Faust in the open street. Instead of the old man Imay was normally seen as he looked like he was stained in blood and covered with scales that had small patches that looked black instead, as massive wings easily as wide as he was tall were fanned out. “ Beasts of the underworld, and Beasts of Nature’s most primal essence” Imay said in the exact moment Kuria had stopped speaking.
Gabriel snarled at the mysterious dark purplish green aura that seeped from his body, causing her to only tense though she did not know what was going to happen. Once she heard Faust spoke a strange chant, her gaze moved to the corpse of bones he had dangling off of a chain that was wrapped around his wrist. She only cocked her head to the side as she heard the sound of chittering jaw shaking but then inhaled once she saw the whole skeleton start to re-animate with just the chant Faust spoke through his lips. Gabriel winced and cringed at the sight and the sound of bones and joints popping out of place and break to only snap back into place. She growled deeply at the sight of him releasing the skeleton from his grasp as she narrowed her eyes at the fact that it was standing on its own with no aid to help it stand up. It was standing on its own and it startled her at most but she pushed her shock to the side of her mind and kept her eye on the re-animating corpse before her. The smell of rotting flesh crawled up her nose and made her gag in reaction as she covered her mouth with the back of her hand. It smelled retched now. How much longer will she deal with this digusting, vomitting inducing stench that pollutes the air? Gabriel looked away since she could not take the sight into her mind any longer, hiding her face with the sleeve of her dirtied kimono. Then with the loud booming voice she heard from Faust, she lowered er arm down as she witnesse a woman wearing a pink nurse’s outfit and saw the same aura around her. She grabbed her weapons’ hilt, prepared to defend herself if need be as she coughed in disgust at the sight of him making out with this Eliza corpse as if he was giving her life to move around. She snarled once more, watching him pulled away from his dead girlfriend and pulled her close to his petite frame.
Gabriel looked down at Sarah, whispering in a gentle tone, “Please wake up soon, my dear,” she looked back up to be only taken by surprise bu the dark skinned woman that appeared behind her as she snapped her head back to only look up at her with her bright blue eyes yet another snarl escaped from her lips as she felt an odd presence about this woman but she had a feeling that she was there to aid her and Sarah in attempt of escaping this horrid area. Gabriel heard the sound of flapping wings within the wind as she looked around to see what was approaching them then looked straight like she was looking at Faust and Eliza but in reality, she was looking at the creature who landed behind Faust and Eliza. Her snarling and growling seized as she waited for something to happen to allow her to escape the scene that is threatening to unfold before her
-Arren watched as Charlotte understood his words entirely. She needed to rest before she embarked on such a journey to find her path. She stood up and bowed to him right before his eyes as he bowed his to her in acknowledgment as he sipped his tea watching her heading to her room to get settled in. She had a lot to think about since her time to the after life. Arren stood up placing his tea on the stone table as he pulled his bo staff close to him as he looked towards the hall way towards the garden’s walking down the hall stepping up off the sand garden so much has happened yet he was burdened by a lot of it as he thought to himself trying to ponder all he knows. A small little chichagwa came forth to Arren as the girl bowed to him as she asked.- “what shall I get the lady?” -Arren smiled at the willing actions of the young Chichagwa as he said.- “Run her a bath, then bring her what she pleases for food. I shall go get something to make her happier in her time here.” -The chichagwa smiled as she ran off towards the bath house part of the complex disappearing from Arren’s sight. He walked towards the garden hearing in reaction as he made it into the gardens as he saw the flowers were beginning to bloom . He could hear the chatter in the house in the back it was Rika’s quarters he stood outside in the garden’s waiting for Rika to come screaming if that’s what was going to happen.-
-Anya was still staggering as she looked up seeing Rika only to hear.- “Ooooo what a pretty place. Eek…dog person, two o’clock. Have we entered the world of the fluffies?” -she rubbed her eyes trying to see Rika clearly as she noticed that Rika was a Chichagwa this puzzled her since she had only been told about them by her father/creator. She sat up looking at Luna only to say still rubbing her eyes.- “It’s a Chichagawa. A created race that predates Conan’s race. Yea they are small wolf like race that’s a permanent child form due to a flaw in them. All I know they are literately harmless.” -She yawned looking over at Rika again it seemed the portal made her extra tired. Perhaps it was due to how she was created.-
-Rika looked at Luna, Seven and Anya standing up backing up a little bit as she said the only thing her voice box would let her.- “ni-pon…” -she started backing up only to notice that she touched the back of the room. Still wondering what these kids were going to do to her.-
-The small Chichagwa that had approached Arren came into Charlotte’s room opening the door quietly walking in with a set of towels as she said in a small voice.- “Hello? Miss? I brought towels for you and ran your bath for you.” -she looked at Charlotte still a bowed stance as she asked her in a graceful tone.- “is there something special from the kitchen you want to eat? Arren sent me to help you with anything you need.” -the small Chichagwa was a bit nervous shaking from her own body standing there a bit unsure what Charlotte would say to her.-
Lorewall
-Faust was enjoying calling on his dear Eliza as he was interupted in mid excitement by a woman in the shadows.- “Now now little death caller, is this little girl so important?” -he smriked only to hear out everything that was said as this was only setting more of an example of why he must take the girl as he grinned.- “I mean really do you expect salvation from taking a small girl watched by demons, or do you not know of the great beasts that watch over her?” -Faust laughed at both of the beings as they appeared only to yell in such a sadistic tone.- “WELL THEN LETS HAVE A PARTY!”- he let go of Eliza as he clapped his hands together as he said a chant.- “The time has come to fight for darkness! Raise fallen heroes and warriors and serve your lord Johann George Faust VIII!” -the ground quickly started to shake he had not channeled any aura around him. This was not normal magic just simply a low level call of his minons. The ground was really shaking as the concrete started to crack and break apart as in this moment you could smell the stench of the underworld. As was creeped and crawled from the ground for countless city blocks as far as the eyes could see. Was in fact an army of undead as Faust laughed psychotically as the ground shook bringing forther an army that seemed never end. He looked at the woman and the demon as he said.- “you wont stop me from my mission. I have my orders I shall not fail.” -Eliza giggled as she twirled around seeing the undead as she said.- “Master you are the greatest. You brought my friends to have fun along with me” -Faust grinned pulling Eliza close to his body again as his tongue slide across her neck only to whisper in her ear.- “only for you my dear Eliza.” -they looked at the rest of the group as they wonder what they would do in this sitution.-
Charlotte could hear the pattering of the little chichagwa pawed feet darting over to the bathhouse end of the complex to prepare a bath for her after her ordeal in the afterlife. It was not like the Bebilith was going to knock something like this back. Yes, she smelt like death, and that kind of stench does not easily come off one’s person. Setting down the boxed katana of the White spider in her room, she gathered up a red satin robe, and a few towels, before slipping off her boots, and making her way down to the bathhouse, where she presumed paradise awaits.
Her bare feet padded along the timber board walkway that led from her room, down a walkway and to the larger bath house complex, that had a high ceiling roof, and many shutter windows, to let out the steam of the waters. Fuelled by under ground furnaces that were kept alive with coal and billows, the waters had a natural property to help heal the skin as well as revitalize those that sink beneath the tepid waters.
Pulling open the rice paper door, she saw the small little chichagwa already busying herself with Arren’s orders, and bowed politely as Charlotte entered. Charlotte was of course much taller than the chichagwa, and might have seemed intimidating to the minute creature. “Master said to bring you what ever kind of food you wish, Miss Charlotte.” Her voice had a musical like quality as she turned off the large faucet and then tossed a bag full of special scented oil bombs into the waters.
Charlotte thought for a moment. “Can I get…crab cakes? I haven’t had them in forever.” Charlotte asked, with her mouth watering at the prospect. The little chichagwa nodded profusely, and skipped out of the bath house room, closing the rice paper door behind her. The Spider demon let out a sigh of relief, and untied her hair, then started to disrobe out of her safari kit that she had been wearing for oh so long. Folding everything neatly, she then dipped a toe into the waters, before entering fully, resting her head against the side, with a small towel pillow behind her. “I think…I found heaven.” Charlotte mused, her hand gliding across the waters, before sinking below. She closed her eyes, and simply soaked her cares away.
Rika’s Quarter’s Garden area
“ni-pon…” Rika squeaked, as she backed up, with the taller Carrendar children rounding on her. “Soooo fluffy. Can we keep her?” Luna said, making grabby hands for her, and Seven tilted his head and said. “Are they house trained? Don’t want something that big inside making that big a mess. Mum would freak.” Luna didn’t seem to care, she just wanted to hug the stuffing out of her. “Ni….PON! Gosh you are fluffy….do they make your kind in pink?”
– Imay felt the subtle power in the man’s call, and new trouble was on it’s way causing Imay to smirk. “Well now an army for a dragon, a demon, and a phoenix, either you plan for overkill or scared that you will be devoured.” Imay called out in a half mocking tone as he grab the pendent Arren had given him. He quickly tossed behind him at Gabriel knowing it would pass through the barrier he felt around her and Sarah, as he called knowingly, “If things get to hot recite the words on the back little wolf and you shall see your god.” As the sound of the un-dead Faust summoned grew louder Imay took up Sound Strike and spun it above his head in a circular motion while pouring energy into it. “Reasounece of Flame”, at Imay’s words the energy started to burn forth from the blade in an interesting mix of hellfire and soulfire, Imay’s most trusted magic. Meanwhile as Imay had started to build of power into Sound Strike, Kuria was drew up the shadows from beneath the hounds that would swallow them up in a empty void shadows, while for the first time to Gabriel and Faust Flain dived through the ally leaving a small trail of flames that hung safely over all except Imay as it quickly started to blend in with the soul and hell fires. “May heaven show mercy, Hell be swift, and life be reborn.” Imay said almost reverently casting the Sound Strike downwards and unleashed a wall of the three flames, eight feet high and as wide as the ally towards Faust and Eliza
Gabriel only clung to Sarah even more as she felt the ground quake beneath her and witnessed the ground crack and split to only let an army of undead rise up and come server their “Master.” The stench of the Underworld crept up into her nose and caused her to gag once again while she covered her mouth with her bare hand. She found these creatures really vulgar. Gabriel only snarled as she decided to take of her top of her kimono, making it into a pillow to only lay Sarah’s head upon the fabric. She was now wearing white bandages and the material covered her breasts and part of her stomach. Though with her back turned to Kuria, she could see the clan mark of Silverfang, silver cross swords behind a wolf head. Gabriel glare at Faust then shifted her glare at Eliza, figuring out that she was his weakness though he used his dead girlfriend to his advantage. Gabriel saw something fly into the barrier and caught it, its chain wrapping around her fingers and she looked down at it object that she was given. It was clearly a pendant of some sort of magical ability that she was not aware of.
She looked towards the one who gave it to her, speaking in a gentle but firm tone, “You would need to get back to where-ever you came from, kind one. I just don’t want to leave you hear all by yourself to fight of this army of undead,” she was worried that he would get hurt and not survive this fight. Gabriel did not want to leave anyone behind with this evil monster who was named Faust. She stood there in awe of the power that Imay had displayed for she did not see such power before her.
She thought to herself, “What did I do earlier? Was using sound part of my abilities? I want to know more for I am even more curious about myself.”
A small 3 foot tall fuzzy calico female Kilargwa comes walking threw a door into the gardens headed for Arren dragging a black cloaked form with criss crossed ropes wrapping it. It is oviously a body of some sort, a 4 foot peice of rope goes from the shoulders to the Kilargwa’s hands. She walks sideways tugging it along, she is completely disheveled. Her kimono is torn and dirty. Her staff; which is as tall as her and has a dark red orb on top swirling and once in awhile you see a ghostly face, is broke at the top one of the four fingers clearly broke off. The red swirling orb has a small crack in it and in much need of repair. She holds it in the crook of her right arm as she tugs the body along. She has a small satchel on her side with alot of stuff poking out; paint brushes, paper, beads, and ink bottles. She then speaks in a horse small voice that sounds like a purr but still very child like. “Emushere back Arren, took a year but Emushere back… Emushere lost pendant, had to search for Arren’s presence to find home. Good news got him, bad new all others are gone… They all gone…” Emushere would begin to cry a year alone after all others disapeered. She kept tugging the body along towards Arren, but then she caught her foot on her torn kimono. Tripping and falling her staff smacks the ground the orb pops out and rolls fast across the ground. The orb rolls onto the sand and right for a rock. “OH NO! NO! NO! NO!” When the orb hits the rock it vibrates and a red mist escapes from the crack. This mist has a ghostly face that begins to form a skull. The mist starts forming bones and wings. Then muscles, tendons, and ligaments form over it. Finally skin form and a dark black, naked and pissed off winged demon roars shaking the room. Emushere covers her tiny ears and whispers “No no not agian, Emushere lost another one… Must have Arren fix my staff and orb.”
IceTe3a: Rolling to lay on his back his arms resting behind his head as he gives a slight growl of defiance to what had just happened, she was able to summon a sword and shield and with that break his charm on her. Just what exactly was she, obviously an elf but she was more than that, had she practiced magic beforehand? Or was this just pure dumb luck, these questions and more would run through his mind all night long as he watches the night sky. Licking his lips he sat up, his hues settled down to a piercing green color as they scan the darkness around them then flicker over to nip. “What a bore” he said as he sighed, he didn’t like being trapped, someone’s prisoner; he much preferred to be free and do what he pleased. Glancing down to the chain he knew it was useless to even attempt to break it, as he had tried thousands of times before hand and even more so when he was free, the collar and chain were stuck to him for life. By now his body was fully recovered as all previous wounds he had gained that day were now gone, coming to a stand he walked as far as the chain would allow him which wasn’t far away from nip a meter at best. The cool breeze of the night air whipped around his face and into his hair as his snow white hair dances into the wind. “This place is too peaceful for someone like me” he let slip past his lips as he turned to face nip and shook his head “Way to peaceful, bloody children. I’d be surprised if there was another bad soul in this entire land let alone someone who was actually able to tame me” he chuckled with a smile. Talking to himself to pass the time was one of Ice’s quirks as he sat down with his arms resting on his knees and his back resting on his rather large broadsword, which appeared and disappeared as he pleased his back facing her as his hues watch the surroundings. Night finally turns to morning as he watched the sun slowly rise, the planets animals were already up and about doing their daily business as the fire had gone down to a low smouldering coal his breathing was deep and controlled he had to admit it had been quite awhile since he had been out on a killing spree, before he was summoned to this planet he was busy destroying a entire city but before that it had been at least a good 12 years since he had let himself go wild and go out on a rampage, He was pure evil itself but only when he needed to be. Back in his realm where he chose to live the human realm he fought other daemons for fun and money. He wasn’t well known there nor did he want to be it was where he stayed to get away from it all there was obviously more to him than the eyes showed. Born into the humans realm he was under their hand, moulded by hatred as they trained him to be a weapon, a killing machine for their use nothing more nothing less. He never had any true friends nor did he want them as the company of elder slayers that he was born to removed all emotions from his body and soul as to not interfere with Ice’s judgments whilst killing. He knew he was nothing more than an object for others, a weapon at best and that is why he hated to be chained up, to have any orders given to him; defiant by nature or defiant by subconscious no one could tell and no one ever would be able to. He was fine with what he was and the way he was, he was a daemon son of the late Sparda, now dead by his own hand and with it taken the crown and rule of hell itself. Another day awaits him but what would happen with him today, and how much will Nip learn today he was unsure as his path was no longer his own to see.
CharlotteCarrendar:- The smouldering embers released a dark grey smoke into the air that filtered around the small camp where Nip lay curled up next to her sword and shield. The tiny head of the dragon peeked out of her coat and spotted the Daemon standing just a metre away. Bravely it hissed angrily at the daemon before retreating into the warmth of the Elf’s coat. The hiss was loud enough for the elf to hear, and this started to slowly rouse her from her slumber. With bits of leaf matter and twigs in her hair, she sat up awkwardly; scratching at her cheek as she viewed her surrounds, only to see the daemon standing there. Course, he had been talking on and off all night, which drifted into her subconscious. Hard to believe that he would keep that going with no one to listen but the wind. He must truly love the sound of his own voice above all others. The Elf didn’t bother with a greeting or any friendly kind of banter since the daemon would only spin it on her and twist his reply into some kind of nasty retort. The Elf pushed herself up off the ground, and started to pick the leaves and bits out of her hair, whilst staring at the daemon. “We will need to find food at some point this day. There is a village a good hours walk from here.” She wasn’t asking that they go there, but rather putting it plainly. How she thought of what to pay for food with, was the part she hadn’t quite worked out. “It’s a trading post near the great river.” Her plan was that once they had gotten food, she might be able to steal a vessel and travel far from the land of mortals. The last thing they needed the King of Hell setting up residence. Nip picked up the shield first and strapped it to her back while the sword she tied to a loop on her belt. Once it was secure, she kicked dirt onto the embers to put the fire out properly. Without announcing her intent, she started off, so the daemon would have no choice but to follow or risk being dragged along behind. <3>
IceTe3a: His hues flicker over to the chirp of the baby dragon who just hissed at him, brave little thing “I’ll show you a hiss” he growled as he watched the dragons head pop back into the coat of the elf. She rose quite slowly for a thief and slept quite sound as well, as he watched her pick the leaves and twigs out of her hair ‘We need food, there’s a town not too far away’ she stated to him which made him growl lightly, she was already ordering him around subconsciously this he did not like. “I am not something you can just drag around where ever you please” he sighed as he watched her kick dirt from the ground into last night’s fireplace covering what’s left of it. Stretching slightly he didn’t get much of a chance to as his chain pulled forward she was already on the move as he quick stepped to catch up and start walking behind her, he looked down and arched a brow “What do you think I’ll do once we’re in the town” he said simply then went silent for a change as his hues flicker around the terrain a town only a hours walk for her, but she was slow. Ice on the other hand would be able to get there in no time at all with his running speed it take him 20 minutes flat to arrive at the edge of the town. Hues glance up to the morning sky as a bird of prey screeches up high, a hunter out to find its prey it seemed everything was wanting its morning meal from the smallest of creatures to humankind. Pulling a cigarette from in his jeans pocket he places it in between his lips, clicking his fingers together a flame appears on top of his index finger, bringing it closer he draws in as the tip of the cigarette catches a light. Shaking his hand the flame disappears as he takes in a long drag, moments later he sighs with relief as a cloud of smoke floats up into the sky. It had been at least 10 minutes since they started walking, he hadn’t been really paying attention to what was going on or where they were as he kept to himself for now, his concentration was obviously elsewhere than this reality.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Oh but he was something she could drag around. Every move, every step she took he had to fall into line, or risk being dragged along the ground. It wasn’t what a great and powerful daemon like Ice see as being much fun. The Elf’s stomach rumbled slightly as she padded her way through the forest with the daemon keeping pace with her; stride for stride. An hour might not seem like a long time, but when you haven’t eaten for a few days, every minute seemed to drag on. The day was simply beautiful, with the way littered with abundant wildflowers and all manner of fauna frolicking in the warmth of the summer sun. Almost like a type of utopia, all of which would be totally alien to a killing machine like Ice. Birds twittered and butterflies fluttered all around. The Elf seemed to blend naturally into this environment, even with the glint of the silver sword and shield on her back. The sun illuminated the tiny beads of perspiration that dotted her skin like dew on a flower’s petals. The hush of the forest was broken by the daemon asking a fairly obvious question. “What do you think I’ll do once we’re in the town” This was pretty easy to answer. “Be a nuisance. Kill a few, maim a lot. I can see the village tavern being torched to the ground before you have even had a chance to grab a glass of ale.” Least she was now clued in on how the daemon held no life or town as sacred. Her voice was fairly flat. There was no musical edge like you would expect from such a dainty elf. But after the last two days with the Daemon, he had killed a certain element of her spirit. But was she having an effect on him? You could see the tops of houses through the trees, and they were almost there. A town of about five hundred souls, who had no idea that hell…was fast approaching.<3>
IceTe3a: She had surprised him with her answer as she said exactly what he expected he was going to do, than if she cherished life so much why would she bring a uncontrollable monster like him into a populated area? Simple, she was selfish, gluttony and greed being her sins for this time being as he shook his head, the wonders of the mortal races never ceased to surprise him how thoughtless they were but how righteous they thought they really where if only their eyes were open to the truth perhaps than they’d see who the bigger monster actually was. The sunshine.. Everything so peaceful, it was weird to Ice he did not belong in here and as he passed through the forest you could feel the woodland creatures going dead quiet until he had passed through and was at a safe distance from them. Sooner than expected his hues glanced upon the roof tops through the tree line, they were close to the town mere minutes away. A devilish smirk chiselled across his face as his hues burn a bright red glow, his tongue licking the edge of his lips for a mere moment before disappearing back into its place. He wondered how the towns people would react to a person such as himself, even more how they’d react to seeing Nip having him collared and chained to her by force. Oh the joys that will soon follow, he will reap the rich and sweet rewards that are laid before his feet and leave nothing behind this was going to be fun as an Idea popped into his head, a sinister one. His hues change to a dull green as his cloak and broadsword disappear into thin air, leaving his blood-soaked and torn jeans the only thing he was wearing along with his boots. His upper torso covered with scars of different shapes and sizes, a few punch bruises appear on his face and body from his magical flow, he was going to play the part of a force collared poor soul, brutally beaten and starved by this wicked and evil elf that held him prisoner, oh how the people would react to a sight such like this, he made no sound gave away no hints to his plans as he followed her at a close distance, when the time came and they would get closer to the town he’d start limping and walking as if he was in pain and beaten, forced to walk against his will. ‘And.. here we go’ he thought to himself with a devilish grin as his eyes flash from dull green to bright red and back again.
CharlotteCarrendar:- Yes, it was a trading station for many things. From food and produce, to livestock and fowl. But the part she didn’t tell him was it was a slave market as well. Yes, due to the location, there were those that bought and sold slaves from far off lands. So…when the daemon thought he would be a cheeky devil and alter his appearance to make it look like this wicked Elf had beaten and collared the poor wretched soul, she was just…another trader. The township was made from stone structures and many wooden dwellings. It was heavily populated for such a small village and the calls of the market place filled the air, as many a trader was shouting the wonders of his wares. Nip glanced back over her shoulder at the limping daemon who had discarded his jacket and sword and now was just wearing jeans, and little else. “Really?” she mused as the elf shook her head. One portly woman was leaving a tavern wearing many jewels and finery. A classy dame was this one and she clapped eyes on the tall..dark…and beaten daemon. “Oh…myyy.” she gasped, clasping her chubby fingers over her luminous breasts. “How…much?” The woman chimed as she licked her crimson stained lips. Nip stopped just before her and cocked her head to the right. “What?” The woman went to paw at the daemon’s forearm, her eyes ravishing him then and there. “I want to buy him from you. One hundred gold pieces.” Now that was a lot of money in those times, and Nip’s eyes widened. “For him?” Almost incredulous at the woman’s offer. Even if Nip could release him, she had to wonder just what the woman intended. Nip glanced back at the Daemon, positive he had something to say about this. <3>
IceTe3a: He arches a brow as they walked into the village all along he was playing the poor trapped soul, limping away until he realized this world dealt in slave trading “Fuck..” he said softly to himself as he came to a tall stand and started walking normally, he glanced around at the town market as he could see traders trying to pitch off livestock to other humans, perhaps this place wasn’t as sweet as he first thought it was as he smirked. Suddenly his attention was ripped from him and pointed towards Nip and the older… chubbier lady who was discussing a price to buy him, ‘good luck with that one’ he thought to himself. His hues glanced over the fat lard as it’s hand extended out with intention to touch him, this he really didn’t like… he hated to be touched, with his right hand he gripped her fingers and twisted her wrist in a lock position within an instant she fell to her knees in pain, if one were to look over him again they’d see him standing there cloak back on with his broadsword reattached to his back, all the visible wounds and bruises had all but disappeared, his eyes were a flaming red color as he growled baring his sharp teeth “If you’re fat sausages ever attempt to touch me again you oversized land whale, I will tear your spinal cord out of your ass.” He kneeled down so his lips were near the older woman’s ear “Now get the fuck out of my sight you fat lard” he pushed her hand downwards as he came to a stand and turned around to notice Nip was staring at him “What?” he simply stated with a growl, he was obviously pissed off that someone almost touched him, this obviously was one of his boundaries people should not cross.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The older woman let out a wail of protest and pain so loud that many a villager stopped what they were doing to watch. Falling to her large knees while the daemon (who was now wearing his cloak and sword) was giving her the riot act for daring to touch his person. Now, Nip had learnt this truth first hand and wouldn’t touch him if she could avoid it, however the terrified older woman had no clue. No clue just who she was dealing with. Her eyes were rimmed with tears and she was certain he had broken her wrist in the act to send her to the ground in a heap. “You beast!…You heathen!” she crowed as many were now coming out to see the spectacle. Attention that Nip didn’t really want at this stage. Her stomach was growling louder than ever and she was so close to the food market, she could have been carried away by the smells and exotic scents. “What?” the Daemon growled at the Elf when he had threatened to rip the woman’s spinal cord out her ass. “I can see why you have never had a love of your own.” That was a fair call. Moving on past the gawking spectators, they approached the food market stalls. Each was from a different part of the provinces. The smell of cooking meat may well have enticed the daemon. <3>
IceTe3a: His hues flicker from Nip to the surrounding people and then back at her as she started to walk towards the food markets, his chain pulling him along into line as he was still worked up about being touched, his hues still burning a bright fire red as he glared at people passing by. They enter the food markets where the smells were rich from the cooking foods of many nations Ice could pick a few of the smells almost being like other foods he has smelled in the past coming up right behind her he glanced down as he towered over her, she was obviously hungry but he doubted she had any source of income to support her needs for food. “Will you die of hunger?” he smirked as he chuckled glancing by he noticed another person walking dangerously close to him, his arm extends outwards as he picks up the small hand by his shirt lifting him to see into his daemonic eyes, his other hand rips the coin purse from the persons belt “Problem?” he growled as the person was about to protest but instead shook his head repeatedly, tossing him to the ground he watched as the male ran off into the distance. His hues flicker down to Nip as he giggles the coin purse “Shall we make a deal, Since I don’t require food or substance to survive. Just how dearly do you.. hold your own life?” he chuckled as he held the Coin purse high in his hand, it disappeared only to be re-summoned by him at any given time he pleases. “You could buy yourself a feast with that kind of coinage.. A room for the night with a comfortable bed.. a warm bath” his silver tongue was doing its work as his fiery daemonic eyes almost seemed inviting “Doesn’t that sound like a welcomed pleasure? All you have to do is make a deal with me..” he smirks as he leans down to look into her eyes “So what will it be? Freshly cooked meat a warm bed and a hot bath? Or..” his hues glance over to a pile of rotting vegetables and meats obviously food for the live stock “Whatever that is” his hues glance back to her as they turn from his Daemonic red to piercing green.
CharlotteCarrendar:- Nip was so very hungry. Her mouth was practically salivating from all the exotic and tasty aromas that were teasing her senses. So many things to choose from, but of course she didn’t have a coin to her name. That was when the daemon seized the moment and the opportunity to do some dastardly deed. He stole a coin purse and a rather large one from a local who had ran off in fright from the daemon. It was at this weak moment, that the wicked daemon started to make her a deal. He didn’t require food or drink to sustain him, unlike the elf who was half starved. Plus she had a baby dragon to feed. The silver tongued daemon tempted her with all the food she could eat, a room at one of the inns in a soft bed, a warm bath…luxuries to a weary traveller and her pet dragon. His face was one that masked his true intent. Practically leering at her, as he continued unashamedly with his offer of the deal. Question was, what exactly did he want in return for a night of splendour at the market village. The trick part of the deal was the line “how dearly did she hold her own life?” Now this was an easy one to answer. Of course she valued her life, who wouldn’t; unless you were already dead. Folding her arms, she stared back at the daemon and asked. “And..what exactly do you want in exchange?” <3>
IceTe3a: He smiled his white perfect teeth showing as he leaned back ‘What exactly do you want’ she had said as he arched a brow, Obviously she couldn’t release him that was beyond both their powers at this point of time, her soul? Nah not worth it, he could rip it from her with in a second if he had half the chance then it clicked.. he could secure his safety from her with ease, she was oblivious to all the powers she possessed over him as he came back to reality. “Simple request.. Nothing much on your behalf” he glances over to her “You are never to say I Order you to, ever and lastly you are never to touch me in any way, shape or form.. if you break either of these after the deal is struck… you forfeit your soul” he smiled as he extended his hand his daemonic symbol glowing on his palm as he arched a brow the next part was waiting for her to fall into the trap, will she take the deal, only time will tell.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Now this was tempting. The Elf thought for a moment, but it was when he stretched out his hand and the demonic symbol was etched into his skin, she knew that this was no ordinary handshake. If she broke the agreement by a simple thing like touching him…WHICH could happen quite easily if he so much as fell over at her feet on one wrong pull of the chain – it meant her handing over her soul. Her silvery eyes narrowed as the temptation was building. The growling of her stomach growing. She had to eat…she needed coins. Was it worth her soul for a single night? Unfolding her arms, she looked about set to shake on the deal, when instead she reached around behind her and took off her shield, placing it on the ground in the middle of the food court with the hollow side facing up. The small dragon popped it’s head out from her jacket as the Elf cleared her throat. What she did next, was to shock the daemon and probably a few passersby. Nip burst into song. The song of the High elves. Her hands gestured as many stopped to hear the magic that was her voice. Mesmerized by her song, the sound of clinking coins was heard falling into her shield. <3>
IceTe3a: He watches her as she starts to unfold her hands, she was seriously thinking about it. He almost had her, she wouldn’t be able to order him around.. He licked his lips “Go on, what could go wrong” he smirked as he arched a brow, her hand extended behind her back as she pulled out her shield leaving the hollow point showing on the floor almost like a bowl of some sort, he arched a brow what was she doing.. as he glanced up at her he saw her lips part he knew the deal was not going through at this point, the symbol on his hand disappearing as he sighed slightly he sat down near her whilst she stood there in front of the bowl than his ears perk. Singing.. In elvish the tone was beautiful and calming.. it went right through him as he glanced up at Nip, it was her? She was the one singing? This had him surprised as her voice sounded more.. mature.. more advanced an old soul was singing, not the child he knew as nip as he glanced around people came to listen as the song filled their hearts, their coins filled her shield. Then he noticed he was getting drowsy his eyelids slowly getting heavier, his head slowly falling down as he forced it back up attempting to stay awake what was this..what was happening to him.. Ice had never felt being tired before as he never got tired, let alone fall asleep, he’s never fallen asleep. He tries to fight it as her words dig deep into him for some reason they had a affect on him as he laid down on the ground his body given up to the sweet sound but his eyelids stayed defiant as they opened and closed every so often “what’s going.. on..” he said softly as he fell into a sleep for the first time of his life. An odd effect on the daemonic king indeed, than again he never gave anyone the chance to sing near him otherwise he would have known exactly what was happening, he was in a deep slumber soon to wake up once the song was over confused about what happened that would be for sure.
CharlotteCarrendar:- They say that the right song can soothe the savage beast. But what Nip didn’t know was that it could also…put him to sleep. As she sang her heart out, putting such emotion into her words, the daemon’s head drooped. He fought it as best he could but the melody, the voice had reached deep inside of him and somehow relaxed him to the point that he went off into a very deep slumber. He was even snoring. Nip brought the song to a close and many clapped and cheered for her wonderful musical talent. More coins fell in her shield. Enough to not only buy her a meal but a place to spend the night – maybe even enough to feed her dragon. Kneeling down, she scooped up the many coins and started to fill her empty pocket as the daemon beside her started to rouse from his slumber looking confused by what had happened. Nip glanced at him and asked. “Have a nice nap?” <3>
IceTe3a: His eyes drowsy as he heard people talking and clapping he was waking up as he rubbed his face with one hand “Ugh..” he grumbled as he opened his eyes he looked up to see nip staring down at him asking if he had a nice nap “A what..? Nap? “ he had to think for a moment as it registered “I don’t sleep, never have” he came to a stand slowly as he stood there still waking up from what had happened “What did you do to me..” he said in a sleepy tone he shakes his head trying to shake it off as he stretches. Hearing the jingle of coin in her pockets he knew she had done well for herself as he arched a brow “Seems like you do have some use to you after all” he said as he glanced around “What’s next” he grumbled softly as he was still unsure what had just happened to him and how she was able to do this to him. Glancing around everyone had moved on as they went back to their daily lives, did she knock him out with a blow to the head? He rubbed the back of his head trying to feel for a bump or a wound of some kind as he grumbled still confused; she wouldn’t be able to put a hit on him like that without him knowing at least. Turning to face her she was busy with her own things as he glanced down to her and grumbled again “What happened?!” he demanded to know at this point “How?!” was his next question as he waited there, you could see he was starting to get angry, his white hair had a black color slowly taking over the white from the roots he was about to snap and it wasn’t going to be pretty.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Seeing the great daemon act so weary and groggy from his sleep was in a way amusing. He clearly didn’t understand what had happened because he never sleeps. Well, that was until the Elf sang. Somehow this was one form of controlling the daemon that had no possible idea of. Probably because he had never encountered a singing Elf before. Checking her pocket flap was secure Nip reached down to take up her shield, and lace it back onto her back. All the while the Daemon was getting more and more annoyed. The town’s people had gone back to their usual daily tasks and this left him even more confused. Had the Elf struck him? If she had, he would have felt a bump for sure, but there was none. It was when he roared “How?!” that Nip finally twigged that he was not going to move on until he knew what she had done to him. Rounding on him, she said quite simply. “I sang a song for my supper rather than make a deal with you.” It was the honest truth. “You…then nodded off to the land of dreams.” So she was more than just a simple elf. She had the power of her song to relax him into slumber. Nip was more dangerous than he could possibly have imagined. <3>
IceTe3a: He watches her with both eyes keeping a close gaze upon her, she came around close to him and said in a quiet tone that she merely sung a song in her native tongue and he had fallen asleep to it. This can’t be possible.. That’s never happened before, but how could he be sure? He’s never had an elf sing to him before as it clicked, he remembered hearing singing and finding out it was indeed nip that the song was coming from; this all came back to him as he remembered feeling tired all of a sudden. She had this kind of power over him? How? Obviously it wasn’t the collars doing, was it something the elves were able to do? He was curious more than ever as he had never had this happen to him before “What are you..” he said in low tone as he glanced down to her so many questions now racing through her head, just exactly what has he found himself in? She was growing stronger with each day that passes.. slowly she was figuring a lot out and soon enough she’d start finding out things about him and her powers over him this couldn’t happen.. he can’t let that happen. It’s bad enough that she can now simply sing and put him into a deep sleep, she had merely sung for a moment and put him to sleep what would happen if she sung for an extended period of time? He didn’t want to find out right at this point that’s for sure.
CharlotteCarrendar:- The daemon looked horrified that the girl had the power to put him to sleep just by merely singing. He begged the question. “What are you?” Now he was on the back foot for the first time since they had met. He had experienced many feats in his years, and so many had fallen to his schemes and trickery – others met with death. But this one elf, the small thief from the witches’ tunnels had more power than he realized and….it was growing. Every time they touched she grew stronger; whether she knew it or not. Her answer to his question was simply one word. “Hungry.” Which she was of course. She started for the first stall that sold roasted meats, and here she bought a bag full for her baby dragon, who was already chirping within her coat. The next stall sold flagons of wine, and here she bought two. Nip went to six stalls in all, buying enough food and drink to keep her going through the day and night. But what she needed most of all was to wash and a place to sleep for the night. With many a coin still in her pocket, she pointed out a lavish looking Inn. “I think we should get a room there.” There was no asking Ice, since he would probably have another go at her, so instead she led him to the Inn. The sun was at the top of the sky and many enjoyed a meal while listening to a small pipe band in the village square. It was relatively peaceful still, since the Daemon had not started to tear the place apart. But would he chance it, if all she had to do was sing a simple song to knock him out. <3>
IceTe3a: He grumbled as he followed her through the stores watching what she bought and what they were selling he shook his head, useless items “Seriously wine? As if I want to see you drunk” he said grumbling as he followed her around to each stall, this place was to peaceful he noticed a storeman staring at him his eyes flashed red “What are you looking at?!” he growled towards the man who stepped back shaking his head, his chain pulls him away before he could finish what he started, another food stall, seriously who ate this much. He glanced over to a Inn that she was pointing at ‘We’ll stay here’ he arched a brow as they walked to the inn “We?” he grumbled as she had included her “I’m not going to get stuck in a small room with you, No way” he refused as he was dragged along by the chain attached to her wrist, he grumbled as he glanced down to it. If only he could harm her, he’d chop her hand off and just slip the chain off her arm it was so simple… yet so hard as he grumbled once more at this point he shrugged it off as he remained silent once more. Pulling out a simple dagger that was well hidden in his jeans he starts flicking it around his palm and hand with ease, flicking it through fingers and throwing it up and down it weapons came naturally to him, as he looked around the market place walking to fast he walks straight behind Nip and bumps straight into her subconsciously his left hand wraps around her and supports her stomach so she doesn’t fall forward, it took him a moment to realize what was going on, he quickly removed his hand and grumbled “Hurry up will you” he said before going back to playing with his knife.
CharlotteCarrendar: – With enough food and drink held in small bags Nip was ready to go and find a room at the town inn where she had hoped to bathe and get clean from her journey. The wine she bought was something she enjoyed with a meal but was also good to trade with, which is why she bought two. The daemon seemed to think she would drink it all, but she simply shook her head. Leading the daemon through the remainder of the market, she got a shock when he bumped into her after not looking where he was going. The way he placed his arm around her to stop her from falling almost made her lose her breath. He touched her…in a protective way. Surely he would give anything to kill her to be free from the collar and chain. The action haunted her for the next few minutes, as she tried to focus on getting to the Inn. The Daemon urged her to hurry, and she did which only meant he had to keep up. At the inn, the Innkeeper was a portly man. Well fed and well to do. He watched with growing concern at the pair. The daemon giving off a very bad vibe. “How may I help you both?” He asked with a raised brow. Nip took out a handful of coins and handed them over. “A room with a hot bath and two beds.” She said, watching for his reaction. The Innkeeper took the coin but advised he had a room with a bath…but one large bed. Ugh…that would mean they would be sleeping in it. Especially, if she sang him to sleep. “Fine…we’ll take it.” Without waiting to hear the daemon’s argument, she let the Innkeeper show them to their room. It was a large suite, with a copper bathtub and a fire beneath to heat the water. A king sized bed with fresh linen and of course a large book case that held many tomes to keep one busy whilst they stayed. The room smelt strongly of lavender and cinnamon. When the Inn keeper left them to their devices, the Elf started to take off her weapons, and then the baby dragon which she sat on the bed in her jacket. Seeing the steam rise off the bath water, she asked the daemon. “Shall I scrub your back?” <3>
IceTe3a: He walked into the inn his thick blackened boots stamping heavily on the ground as his hues glance around the place, people were staring.. at him, he gave a snarl as a low growl came out. His eyes glaring across the room at the people now pretending they never had even dared to look at him, as he felt his chain be pulled he walks with Nip as they reach the counter, but he was still watching other people making sure no one was staring at him, until his ears perked ‘One bed’ he turned to dispute this as it was already too late he was being dragged up behind her, this chain was way to short… and brought him way to close to her, he would have to talk to her about it later. As they were shown the room he waited until the inn keeper was gone as he turned on the ball of his feet “I am not sleeping in a bed with you, I’ll stand the entire night” he growled as he glared at her “And another thing, Would it kill you to give out some more of the chain? You realize it’s a magical chain!? You can lengthen it to as long as you want, or shorten it to as short as you want?! Just think about it and it’s done!” he unwittingly just taught her something new, a new power for her to use against him then he heard it ‘Shall I scrub your back’ he growled “I am not getting in that tub with you” he growled once more as he shook his head and turned his back to her, he was getting stressed out that much was obvious.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Extend the chain? All she had to do was think it and it happened? Now this was a new bit of information that could save them both from being so close together all the time. For the first time since they met, she agreed and thought about the chain. Sure enough it gave him an extra metre and then stopped lengthening. Now she was going to prepare for the bath, but she wanted him to bathe first. “I’m not getting in with you; I am simply going to wash your back.” She turned around to give him some privacy. “Let me know when you are in, and then I can start.” If he did this, she would get some soap and a sponge ready to wash him. <3>
IceTe3a: A sigh of relief came from his lips as the chain extended, ‘about fucken time’ he thought to himself as he walked back a bit further away from her. He was able to move without having her so close, he stretched and started moving about a bit more freely. She had explained that she wasn’t going to get into the bath with him that she was going to wash him that was all. “What do I look like to you” he growled as she had her back turned from he walked over to the window, opening it up he had enough chain to spare as he leaned against the open window lighting a cigarette he sighed as he took a deep breath of smoke into his body only to blow it out moments later. He went silent refusing to strip or go into the bath and wash “I’ll pass on that bath” he said simply as he waved it off and continued to have a smoke just near the window. He wasn’t going to let her treat him like one of her trinkets or objects, so he stayed defiant and much more simple he just didn’t want a bath with her or without her and she wouldn’t be able to force him to have one.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Hearing the window open, was not what Nip expected when she thought he would be getting into the bath. Looking over her shoulder she saw him, leaning out the window smoking his cigarette. Maybe it was a good thing she extended the chain. Least she didn’t have to put up with his smell. “Fine.” She said, starting to disrobe so she herself may bathe. After not having a wash for some time, she had wanted to freshen up badly. Stepping into the hot bath waters she let out a pleasurable sigh, before sinking right under. Her hair flowed beneath the soapy water surface and on coming up her hair was flat to her head, gleaming a magnificent shade of silver. With the soap and sponge she started to clean her body, and as she did so, she hummed a musical tune. A sweet song…one that the Daemon may not have heard before. <3>
IceTe3a: His hues flickered over the town as he watched the people busy at work in the late afternoon, darkness was almost upon them as he heard her disapprove of his defiance at least she didn’t force it onto him as he continued to smoke out to the window. Hearing the water move he knew she had taken to the bath as he rolled his eyes “I don’t think I’ve ever had a bath, Does rain count?” he said generally as he continued to watch the last of the people start to pack up shop, others were heading to the local inn and tavern for a feed and mead as he shook his head. His ears perk as he hears her start to hum a tune his muscles flex slightly as he growls “Don’t start singing” he said in a low tone as his hand rested on the wooden windowsill he was squeezing the wood as it started to crackle and buckle under the pressure of his hand. His eyes wide awake as the humming didn’t seem to affect him it must have been her voice, he was unsure as he turned around his hues fall upon her as he continues to smoke.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Nip was washing her arm when the daemon asked. “I don’t think I have had a bath. Does rain count?” It actually made her giggle. “I’ve washed in the rain. Danced in it too. Wonderful feeling in the summer time.” This was probably the first time they had had a light hearted exchange. Course he had to go and growl at her humming a tune – which didn’t have the same affect on him as her singing voice did. When he turned around, he would be able to see only the top part of her shoulders and head out of the water, the rest of her naked form was beneath the soapy waters. Then a long slender leg was raised up to the surface and out as she started to wash it with the soapy sponge, her foot twirling at the ankle as she continued to hum quietly. “You don’t know what you are missing.” She said in a sing song voice. <3>
IceTe3a: His hues were looking at her but he did not care that she was naked, this never affected him at all as he had no interest in that side of life. Leaving the cigarette to hang in between his lips he took a drag every so often as she giggled about his question on the rain. Nodding slightly he shrugs “The rain washes the blood off me while I’m walking around” he said in his cold voice as usual. He arches a brow as she kicks her leg out and starts scrubbing it, “I’ll never understand your need to be so clean when you’re going to get dirty the next day” he shrugs as she started to hum again, ignoring his demand for her to stop then she went and sung out on purpose her response ‘you don’t know what you are missing’ he growls as he knows she was teasing him since she sung it out “Do you want to piss me off” his hues were changing from green to red once more, as his daemonic eyes came out to play, even still he kept his distance from the tub and her in it as he watched her waiting for her response.
CharlotteCarrendar: Slowly Nip lowered her leg back into the bath water and finished her bathing, only to rise up and collect the towel that was on the side table. She stepped out and started to dry herself as the fire beneath the bath helped to keep her warm. The Daemon was growling again, and this time he started to threaten her with his eyes changing from the shade of green to a more violent red. “Do you want to piss me off?” Such a hot head. And they were getting along well, she had thought. So much for that. She took out a robe from the closet and then placed it on, before rubbing her wet hair with the towel. “Do you want me to sing you a lullaby?” Oh now she was the one doing the threatening, but in a gentile way. She smiled at the Daemon as she crossed the floor to the bed and sat near her baby dragon, who was waiting hungrily to be fed. She took out the bag of cooked meat and started to feed the hungry dragon, who chirped after every mouthful. <3>
IceTe3a: His hues follow her as she goes to slip on a bath robe only to turn around and threaten him with singing a lullaby, she dared threaten him? This wasn’t going to sit well with him as he let go of the windowsill “By the time you’ve opened your mouth I’d have burned half this town down” he growls as he extends his arm out of the window his palm opened and extended fully ready to start blasting out random fireballs at a moment’s notice, the power swirls in his arm as it collects out just in front of his palm. He was preparing to let out an onslaught of fireballs at once all across the town, A single fireball doesn’t take this long to muster up, he was building his energy for a lot more. His eyes meet hers as she falls onto the bed and starts to feed the baby dragon “Tell me young elf, could you live with yourself? Knowing your arrogance was the cause of the death of the towns people and their homes?” he smirked wickedly as he had just stepped up the playing field a result of her threat, being empty or not still didn’t hold enough weight to it to put fear into him. He was as defiant as ever and rather than say he usually does first and says later a lesson most learn fast.
CharlotteCarrendar: The Elf’s eyes locked onto the wicked Daemon, who was about to launch a fire ball upon the unsuspecting town below. Oh he was going to use that trick against her now. Not on her watch. How dare he say that she could not live with herself for being arrogant towards him. But he forgot that he had given her a new skill. As she sat on the bed she raised her arm that on the wrist had the chain attached. “Shorten.” She said and thought it at the same time. What this would do would make him fly across the room to her to land at the foot of the bed due to her ability to shorten or lengthen the chain at will. She then went back to feeding her baby dragon, if the attempt worked. <3>
IceTe3a: Her eyes were locked with his as he snarled at her, what was she thinking? He thought to himself as he watched her with a deadly glare his palm at the ready to blast fireballs out to the townspeople who knew nothing about what was going on. Suddenly he heard it “Shorten” he knew what she was doing as his right hand latched around the chain near his collar his muscles flexed and hardened as he stood in place able to keep the chain at the same length it was, his muscles shaking at the raw force he was using to keep it there, the chain itself still attempting to shorten after a few moment of being able to rebel the chain it finally took over as his legs gave way and he came flying towards her head first and slid across the bed. Now laying down just before the foot of the bed he took up the entire width of the bed with his feet hanging off the end he grumbled as he rolled onto his back and glared up at her only to notice she had gone back to feeding her baby dragon. She had successfully pulled him over to be ontop of the bed as he laid there but she wouldn’t be able to keep him there, she hadn’t learned how to order him nor had she learned why he didn’t want her touching him both had valid reasons behind them. He watched her as his eyes continued to study her, she would have to fall asleep soon and when she did he’d be able to do as he pleased and she would be none the wiser.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Sure enough the power of the mind to shorten the chain had been in her favour and as hard as the daemon struggled he was ripped off his feet and flew across the room to land on the bed. He took up the entire width of the bed and angrily stared at her for what she just did. His grumbling went unnoticed in light of feeding her baby dragon, who by now had a fat little tummy and was yawning, ready for a sleep. Nip made a bed for the dragon as far from the daemon as possible, so he couldn’t try anything funny under her watch. When she felt her point was made, she said “Lengthen” and the chain did just that. Nip laid down beside the daemon and looked at him thoughtfully. “Are you that bored that you want to blow up the villagers, or simply to make a point with me of your power?” she asked. <3>
)
IceTe3a: He watches as she continued to feed the dragon until it was full, and then make it a bed which it happily rested in. Once the dragon was comfortable and started to fall asleep she laid down next to him and lengthened the chain, she was closer to him by choice as he shifted his weight. She asked him if he was simply bored or was trying to make a point with attempting to blow up the villagers and their town. He didn’t bother answering he simply disappeared from her sight or so it seemed, in reality he had just moved fast off the bed and out the window as he sat on top of the roof in the darkness of the night looking out at the night sky as he lit another cigarette he had completely ignored her on purpose. The chain would show her exactly where he was as it laid across the floor and out the windowsill, he didn’t feel comfortable having her that close and he didn’t want her to touch him that was for sure as he laid down on top of the room with a sigh and closed his eyes for a moment whilst smoking.
CharlotteCarrendar: That moment that the daemon seemed to vanish was so fast, that it had Nip blink. Where did he go? And why? The trail of the chain showed he went out the window and he couldn’t have been too far. But his reason to flee. Was it bad to lay next to him? Was he fearful of intimacy? It was not like she would ever try anything with him, but maybe he felt vulnerable about being touched. That seemed to be the issue before when they first arrived in the village. Nip sat up for a moment and remembered that she hadn’t eaten. A small box of food was in one of the bags and she took it out and opened it. Quietly, she sat on the bed and started to eat. The small dragon started to snore softly and she had to admit he was very cute. How long he would stay that size was a mystery. Once finished, the elf set down the food box and then crawled across the bed to curl up with the small dragon. He was the only thing she truly didn’t want the daemon to attack. In the quiet of the night, the elf finally fell asleep. <3>
IceTe3a: Standing there in the middle of the forest near a giant shack which was the home of Olav the giant, obviously he did not take kind to strangers and seemed like he disliked the young elf which was confirmed. Ice watches his daemon hues a fiery red were flicking between the two as they start abusing each other with words ‘ Words.. how useless, Now violence that’s how you get your point across’ he thought to himself this making him shake his head. A brow arched slightly as Olav stated the elf was indeed his enemy and not his friend. ‘How interesting..’ he thought to himself as he glanced Olav up and down looking at Olav he would have some serious brute strength but nothing Ice wouldn’t be able to handle that’s for sure. Then his ears burn ‘I want to see him kill something I DON’T care about’ this made Ice turn his head to Nip as it slightly tilted to the side with a arched brow She expected him to follow orders and kill this giant just because she said so? ‘Good fucken luck’ he thought to himself. Olav picked up his club and started swinging it around his head screaming a typical giant saying as he shook his head. ‘After you..’ Nip stated as Ice’s lip’s parted “You think I’m going to do as you say, you have another thing coming” as he took a side step making the path between Olav and Nip clear “Hope you’re quick child” he smirked. His hues glance over to Olav as he arches a brow ‘The enemy of my enemy is my weapon’ he thought with a devious smile “By chance the stupid child was able to bind me to her, I am no more friend to her than you are to fuzzy critters. Dispose of her for me, Help free me and I shall burn her kind to the ashes” explaining his situation to Olav as his daemonic red eyes burning with a fiery rage for all to see. Raising out his right hand with the intention of making a daemon’s deal with the giant known as Olav the inside of his palm started to glow a dark red aura as a glowing symbol appeared on his palm. A Daemon’s deal is sacred and cannot be broken or cheated by either party, but one must state exactly what they want out of the deal specifically for if it is not there in writing it is not a part of the deal. “So Olav, do we have a deal? You smash this child into jam, freeing me and I’ll destroy her entire race into nothing but lifeless bodies and ash.. a front row seat to hear their painful cries fill the skies” he smiled as he was using his silver tongue that most daemons had, a passive skill to make their deals and talking’s more acceptable from the other party, Oh he was smart and he knew the giant could not refuse such a easy deal. Ice got what he wanted and the giant got to see the world burn simplicity in its finest form, his open right palm glowing with his daemon symbol, this showed that it was actually a real daemon deal and not some bullshit story, the young elf known as Nip was going to cop it, once Ice was free and she was dead oh was he going to have some fun.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Pocketing the baby dragon, it seemed that Nip was not as wily when it came to her plans to use Ice to do his destructor gig on the likes of the giant Olav. Clearly, he wasn’t keen on being a tool. This made her scratch her cheek a moment as she knew she was going to have to think fast on her feet. The bald crow finally reached the clearing and whistled as he saw the massive giant swinging his club. “Now this is more like it.” The crow chortled, getting ready for some action. With careful footing, Ice took a side step to create a clear path between Olav and the Elf. The elf stared hard at the daemon, who declared quite loudly that if he was going to fight for her, she had another thing coming. “Hope you’re quick.” Again with the put downs. She puffed out her chest and raised the challenge. “I’m quicker than you think.” But all too soon, the daemon’s attentions were turned on the Giant, who was ready to play whack a mole with his oversized club. He started to declare that he was no friend of the elf either and that if they struck a deal after the Giant despatched the elf, he would have front row seats to watching her kind burn. Now, this was a familiar speel from what the Elf understood, and then she looked at Olaf, who was licking his lips and about to smash his club onto Nip’s head. “Wait….you can’t trust him. He is only upset cause he is bound to me and can’t hurt me. But I can do this.” And what she did was going to be a shock, as Ice held out his hand to shake a deal with the Giant, the small elf filled with the power of the daemon, kicked the Giant in the shin. This caused him to double over in pain, and then the elf snatched up the large club which for some reason seemed weightless, and donged the bent over Giant on the head. If this landed, she would spin on her right foot and make a run as fast as she could from the Giant’s home, and drag the hapless daemon with her. <3>
IceTe3a: Ice heard the crow as he looked up sure enough there was the stupid crow “Don’t you have anything better to do” he growled at the crow as his attention was brought back to the giant known as Olav who seemed keen to accept the deal Ice was offering, unfortunately Nip had other plans as he watched her kick Olav in the knee he doubled over in pain “Oh fuck me.. It wasn’t even a hard kick you slow fucker, Get up and kill her!” he yelled out to Olav as he watched Nip pick up the club with ease he knew by now she was tapping into his power forcefully or subconsciously he did not know as of yet as he felt his power being drained from him and transferred over to her, she only borrowed a small amount but Ice still did not like it. “No not the club” he sighed as he watched Nip swing the club towards the giants head, which hit true the giant let out a groan and collapsed onto the ground “Useless…” he said suddenly his chain yanked hard as he falls to the ground and starts to get dragged right behind Nips feet glancing up as he’s being dragged along the floor he notices she’s running away “Stop fucken running!!! Firstly you’re dragging me secondly you should have finished him” he growled as his head gets hit from rocks and leaves amongst other foliage his body was covered in the dirty stuff as he tried to get up but she was going too fast.
CharlotteCarrendar: A safe distance from the Giant’s home, Nip did stop. She was clutching her chest and panting. She couldn’t believe that she took on the Giant and won. Well, technical knockout. Course, the daemon hated being dragged along behind the elf girl, but at this point she was mad as hell at him. “You really are something, you know that. You would sell your own mother if you could.” Oh she was on to him now. His goal was to get released from the bind between them and kill her. He…really wanted to kill her more than anything, so using her enemies for target practise was now out of the question. She sank to her knees cradling the baby dragon. The crow was barely able to keep up, but he wasn’t about to leave this trio in a hurry. Nip looked fierce as she held up her left wrist with the chain attached. “I wonder if I can take it off without dying?” She rattled the chain and then shook it up and down rapidly.<3>
IceTe3a: Ice comes to a sliding stop his head hits the back of her leg as he growls “Glad that’s over” he said as he rolled onto his back and dusted himself off. Yawning slightly he closed his eyes just as he heard her go off at him about his mother and father he chuckled slightly “I Killed my Real parents when I was 16, although I made my first kill at the age of 5 I believe” he chuckled slightly as he shrugs “So many dead, I can’t remember” he yawned once more as she had gone quiet, the crow finally catching up “Kinda slow there, than again you are a old crow” he smirked as nip sounded like she had given up about telling him off she started wiggling the chain up and down trying to get it off as she said ‘I wonder if I can take it off without dying’ he chuckled slightly as the collar moved only slightly at this stage “It’s for good, stupid. The bond cannot be broken by you, Not even I have that power anymore” He wondered if the crow knew the truth that there were ways to ‘break’ the bond one of the easiest being trade the ownership of the bond to someone else. He opens his eyes as he glances over to the crow “What’s your side in this crow, what exactly do you want?” he asked trying to figure an edge out to perhaps keep the crow quiet about the rest of Ice’s secrets. “Besides, even if you could get it off and release us, I’d kill you with in that moment and then I’d burn this world to the ground along with the rest of your kind” he opened his eyes and glanced over to her with a simple smile across his face.
CharlotteCarrendar: – “Burn everything..and everyone? Nope, sorry but I can’t let you do that. You want to see the world burn, well not this planet bucko!” She was starting to find her strength, through his. She leaned over to give his forehead a good poke. “You’re stuck with me. There is no one in their right mind that would ever want to being chained to you.” Nip was really not liking this daemon at all. There was evil people sure, but he wanted to kill everything cause…he said so? It was then she had a resolve, to teach him right from wrong. The crow was still interested in the exchanges taking place between the daemon and the elf girl. The Daemon continued to threaten in the most vile way imaginable, but the truth of the situation was, he could not break the bond, and she certainly couldn’t. Noting the girl giving the daemon a poke in the forehead, he had to chuckle. “Wait till she finds out…” Course then the bird clapped its beak shut and just cocked it’s head from side to side, starting to squawk rather than speak English. If the girl found out about how to be free of the daemon, then there goes the entertainment. No, the crow wanted this show to continue. Even the Devil himself would be laughing. Nip straightened her dress and then made up her mind. “We are going to make camp here, and build a fire. I am sure there are enough berries and foods of the forest to sustain us. And a creek as well; for fresh water.” <3>
IceTe3a: He was glancing over at her as she rambled on how she would not let him burn down her entire world, he rolled his eyes “And, you’re going to stop me… how exactly?” he chuckled at the thought of her trying to stop him from doing what he did best. Then he feels her poke him in the head as he raises a brow slightly “refrain from touching me” he growls as he glanced back to the crow who started squawking instead of talking which was a good thing in Ice’s mind. “No one has the strength to control me child, let alone stay connected to me for too long.” He smirks as he comes to a stand and looks around “I may not be able to kill you, but I can kill everyone and everything else around, that’s a fact, and there is nothing you can do to stop this from happening” he laughs. Yawning slightly he still can’t believe how unlucky he was to get smacked by that dragon than wake up finding himself bonded to this.. this child elf why wasn’t she with her own kind? This made him think as he looked down at her, “So why aren’t you with your own kind? Been banished haven’t you” a devilish grin happens across his face as he arches a curious brow. Food, water? Pathetic things mortals need; A daemon needing to eat to live is a funny thought as he laughed slightly “I don’t need food and water to survive but fire… Oh I can do fire” he smirks as he takes in a deep breath he fills his lungs and breaths out with force as fire comes shooting out of his mouth much like a dragon it sets a good sized patch of grass in front of them a light if it wasn’t put out or maintained it would certainly light the rest of the field and start a forest fire. Happy with his simple task he falls down onto his back with a thud laying there he closes his eyes and shrugs “What do you most desire Nip?” he questioned her out of curiosity, as a slight glow shines from under his closed eyelids.
CharlotteCarrendar:- So, the daemon didn’t like being touched, eh? That was a tit bit worth remembering. Nip closed her hand into a fist and lowered it to her side, while in the background the crow was being really noisy…again. What was with the crow? Like the devil’s own representative to watch over the wicked daemon and his bound Elf. Either way she was finding him as annoying as the daemon did. Again, the daemon started with the taunting. Oh he would kill everyone and everything she ever cared for. There would be nothing she could do to stop it. Yadda yadda. Nip’s face fell slightly, but it was not for reasons that you would think. As he let out a burst of flame and light the ground, Nip gathered some logs and stacked them up like a fire pile, before gathering rocks to form a barrier. This would take some time to do, and all the while, Ice was mouthing off. He even asked why she wasn’t with her own kind. Ah yes. Why wasn’t she? Not bothering to look at him, she gave the reason and it was sure to stun. “I was cast out after I was caught stealing the Chief’s prized pig.” Now that was a funny answer. Sent out for stealing a pig? Once the fire was under control, she plonked down on the ground and raised her hands to warm herself by it. The tiny dragon poking it’s head out of her jacket. “You can burn what you like…but I have nothing I care for aside from a baby dragon in my pocket, and you already blew up her Mum.” <3>
IceTe3a: He watches her work to keep the fire at bay and bring it down to a useful size as he glances at the screeching crow he growls as he death stares at him “Either say something useful or shut the fuck up” as he glances back Nip was sitting in front of the fireplace warming herself as he rolled his eyes she started to tell him that she was indeed cast out for stealing the chiefs prized pig ‘Oh god.. what a bunch of uncivilized elves, they must be the stone age elf or some shit’ he thought to himself “Really a prized pig, Kind of uncivilized your kind is isn’t it? Here I thought that elves were the most advanced race of their time” as his hues flicker over to the baby dragon who had pokes its head out he smirks as he spat a small spark of fire directly past the baby dragons head, not able to hit it since it’s too close to her but he could fire near her just to scare the baby “Of course I did, she attacked me it’s the concept of battle child” he yawned slightly as he closed his eyes and shrugs “still haven’t told me what you most desire in this world” he had come to terms that he was now bound to her, what’s one less person he could not kill at this very second anyway he will just have to wait and kill her when the time comes “So what’s your plans” he smiles as his lips part a wolf howl coming out from deep within his body as it echoed throughout the plains wondering if there were wolves on this planet.
CharlotteCarrendar:- The baby dragon squeaked and drew it’s head back inside the Elf’s coat as the nasty daemon spat a blast of fire at it. The poor thing was going to have a terrible night if the daemon was going to keep doing such things to torment it. The yellows and oranges of the fire created an aura about the silver hair elf’s frame as she listened with pursed lips as the daemon continued to mock her and her kind. Calling them uncivilized of all things. “The Chief had a passion for pigs….lord knows why. I was dared to steal his favourite by a bunch of boys that said I would be no good as a hunter. I got caught, since the whole thing was a set up. I have a habit of taking things, so..this gave them the reason and right to toss me out.” It was all true of course, and she was in part ashamed of that fact. She shook her head as she felt the baby dragon quiver within her coat. “Must you do that?” Referring to his fiery spit. “Bad enough you killed its Mum. The daemon though wanted to know what the Elf’s desires were, as well as plans. He was grinning of course, then making the sound of a wolf through his own stomach. Great…wolves, that was all they needed. “Well, it would have been to be accepted again, but that is not likely what with you chained to me. I can see it now, I walk back into my village…with you.” She cast a long look at him then making a sour face. “And you would set about destroying everything and everyone…and that ruins that dream, now doesn’t it?’ She folded her arms and rested them on her knees. “My plans…are to stay alive long enough to figure out how to end you.” That last part was said as it was meant. One of them had to die….but which would it be? <3>
IceTe3a: He watched as the baby dragon squealed and ran back into the elf’s coat this made Ice chuckle and shake his head in joy “Oh the pleasures” he said softly as he glanced over with a arched brow “So you were lead into a trap, I can’t figure out if you’re really just a child or just really stupid. Either way don’t you want to get back at those who caused you this pain?” he said as he licked his lips slightly “And yes.. I must” he chuckled as he heard the cry of great wolves in the distance this made him smile, they were as evil as nature came born killers. “So you can’t go back because of me eh” If only she knew what she really could do that would make this situation even worse for Ice as he let out a sigh of relief arching a brow as he raised his head glancing towards her at her comment about figuring out how to end him his smile turned wider “Oh thousand’s have tried..” he smiled as he waved his hand the fire danced as a distorted image of him in countless battles fighting other people and creatures.. blood, destruction and chaos was shown through the images of the fire “None have succeeded and these were great warriors and beasts of legends.. a mere child elf destroy the king of hell? That will be the day” he let out a evil laugh as a slight growl came from behind, a rather large male black wolf came slowly walking out of the darkness as it paced straight up to Ice it rubbed its cheek against his palm as its eyes glared right at Nip, baring its white rather long fangs at her with a light growl it laid down right into Ice as he rested his head against it. “It’s simple there is good in the world, and then there is evil nothing can stop this, It is my job; what I was born for and I do what I do and I enjoy doing it” the fire explodes upwards and then settles down back to its normal self.
CharlotteCarrendar:- Nip’s eyes narrowed at the daemon’s continued taunts. He was like a rotten fingernail, picking at a scab over and over. He took pleasure in upsetting the baby dragon as he did in upsetting her. One thing she was going to have to do was learn how to toughen up against his cruel jibes. She turned her head away sharply, when he asked if she wanted revenge against those that tossed her out. “If I was to seek revenge then I would be no better than the ones that set me up. So..no, I don’t.” At least she was showing a bit of backbone, and speaking the truth of her situation. The baying of the wolves, the great wolves had Nip look to the surrounding mountains and feel the shiver of fear. Was he calling to them? Oh this was just adding to her woes. Course the daemon was still talking….he never seemed to stop. But the delight he took when she said she would end him made her feel physically sick. His face twisted with a gleeful expression of how he had thousands try to kill him and they were all champion fighters and warriors of note. Not some simple elf girl with a pocketed dragon. In his mind, she had no chance, not a one. He conjured the very flames to show the battles he had won and then as a large black male wolf padded out of the wood and laid its giant head on Ice’s lap did he finally let the fire subside. At first, Nip was fearful of his new shaggy pet. But then he reacted to it differently to any other living creature, like he had an affinity with the wolf. It growled at her, showing its disapproval before quietening. Nip swallowed as the daemon explained he was the epitome of evil and there was nothing on this earth that could stop him. Nip wiped her hand under her nose and then let it rest on her lap. It was clear he would make a mockery of anything she said, either brazen or not. Instead she kept her thoughts to herself. Plotting his demise would take time. Then suddenly she said. “Without good there is no balance in nature, as you said so yourself. Destroy all that is good, and what are you left with? You would die of boredom. That’s what. Maybe that is the reason for the bonding. The collar. To keep you….” suddenly it dawned on her. THAT’S IT. The collar. She then lowered her head and dragged her finger through the dirt humming quietly. <3>
IceTe3a: He gave the wolf a heavy pat on the back as it panted in joy at his touch he smiled as he watched Nip feel sick about what he was saying this made him chuckle slightly as he closed his eyes “What you say is true but what you actually have after I have destroyed everything is a clean slate for nature to restart and correct its mistakes, Besides I’m never bored. I can plane shift to other world’s as I please” he smirked and arched a brow “Nothing escapes my judgment” the wolf nuzzles his hand and starts to chew on it with his sharp teeth, Ice lays there and watches the wolf as its fangs slightly pierce his skin leaving a graze mark that slowly starts to heal itself over time. “All things die, those who are unlucky enough to fall under my gaze die, It is the way of life. If it was not, where is your higher power to stop me dead in my tracks?” he chuckles as he shakes his head about collar “No I earned this when I was young a very powerful group of dark mages sacrificed their lives to create this collar around my neck for their own wicked ways, seeking to control me and my power they wanted to rule the world whilst using me as their weapon it is not through any fault of my own” he laughs as he closes his eyes.
CharlotteCarrendar: Nip had learnt early on that the daemon could not easily be used as a tool to destroy others. That was a very powerful lesson. The happy panting of the wolf just made Nip turn her head away. Again…Ice was on a roll. It was like he could talk underwater, and then some. She was unaware that his destruction would bring about a clean slate and that life would just start over. That in her mind was not how the world worked, but then he went on to say that he could just jump from world to world and never be bored, never run out of targets for his attacks. It was a loop, a cycle that had been unbroken for time eternal, that was until he was shackled to a young silver elf. All things die. He said. All that fall under his gaze…die. “I’m not dead yet.” The elf said, continuing to draw in the sand. But what the daemon could not see, was that the elf was drawing a special mark in the sand, one that formed into a silver like diagram. Was she magic after all? Was his magic blending with hers? Was that even possible? <3>
IceTe3a: Lying on the back of the wolf his head resting in its thick fur as it kept biting at his palm playfully. He had been summoned to this world by a evil witch who wanted to see it burn none the less, she had the right idea in mind Ice had not been here as of yet so no one knew of him oh the joys of finding new things to play with. Smirking slightly as the wolf shifts its weight bringing its big paw down on top of ice’s hand it tried to push it to the ground with a playful growl, it didn’t take much effort for Ice to keep his hand up teasing his new found pet . “No no you’re not, Irony is a cruel bitch at the best of times isn’t she, trust me If I was free we would not be talking” he smirked as he yawned slightly the night was still young with the crisp cool air and the fire crackling this was not Ice’s idea of fun but it was resting his body allowing him to gain his energy back for the time being, he had no idea what was really going on around him at this point.
CharlotteCarrendar: – The silver haired elf glanced back at the daemon, who was now using the large wolf as something of a pillow to lay on. As usual he was smirking, like he had all the aces in the deck. No one could defeat him for he was simply too powerful a being. Would his own self belief be his undoing? The elf snapped her head back, and let her eyes fall on the mystical symbol she was drawing in the dirt. Small sparks were giving off from the diagram as she tried not to make it so noticeable to the daemon of what she was doing. ~Let him talk~ she thought to herself. Nip knew his favourite subject was of course, himself. “Have you ever loved anything….or had anything fall in love with you?” Now there was a question that could keep him going for a while, as her fingers continued to work the dirt. <3>
IceTe3a: His ears perk, love… love.. he loved something? This made him bellow out laughing “Oh right, Love that pathetic emotion you guys hang onto so dearly” he shook his head and smirked “Never had I felt any emotion least of all love for something” he settled back down with a smirk and sighed slightly “From time to time there are females who, enjoy my ways. Although this does not stop me from.. Doing what I do best” he licked his lips and shrugged off “ Why are you so like a child? Really, Are you ‘special’ or what?” he was actually curious to know this as most elves he met were more mature if not snobby than this child was, and some elves were just right down assholes and bitches, she did not fit “Oh, you’re a mutt!! You must be, that would explain why you’re so… Not elfy speaking of interbreeding species where are your parents? “ he said with a chuckle “Oh I bet they think the world of their little thief.”
CharlotteCarrendar: – It was at that moment, the glinting of the magical emblem on the ground started to shimmer as the clouds above parted and the moon’s rays struck down on the Elf and the symbol. She had heard enough of his taunts, heard enough of his calling her a bastard. She was more important than he realized…more important to the scheme of nature than he could possibly have known. Charging her spell, she closed her eyes only to open them again, with the glistening of the sheerest blue that matched the emblem. All around was bathed in a bright light that was not holy…no this was something so powerful that it would startle the wolf even. The dragon within her coat chirped in fear as the emblem on ground spread and then sunk into the earth. The ground started to rumble, as the girl elf went to stand and turn around. Through his own power blending with her own she was able to craft weapons, with the help of the moon and the earth. First she stuck her hand into the earth and withdrew a large shield that was marked with the image of a silver dragon, the second time, she pulled out a sword, that shone with a special marking emblazoned as though by fire. Holding both she glowered at the daemon, her own power melding with his. “Oh but I am special.” The shield was for her own protection and that of her dragon. With a look of rage she screamed at Ice. “EYE FOR AN EYE!” and slashed her sword down so it would cut the head off the large black wolf.
Snorting angrily, her hair aflame with the moon’s rays she kicked the wolf’s head away and then drove the blood soaked blade into the earth. <3>
IceTe3a: Arching a brow as the wolf gets startled “Ahh… So that’s what you were doing, he chuckled slightly as his hues flicker over to her. Her hand delve deep into the ground as it pulls out a mighty shield adorned with the crescent of a silver dragon true irony right there, her other hand reaching for the moon as a blade appears in her hand of beautiful workmanship these were no mere weaponry much like his own weaponry they were forged with magic for the reason to carve the fates of lives. He watches as she screams out ‘Eye for an eye’ her blade with force slicing through the air with such precision it cleared the giant wolfs head off clean as it dropped to the floor and rolled over to her foot she kicked it into the darkness the body of the wolf falls limp onto the ground as it starts trailing out blood. She thought this would affect him as he appears quickly in a standing form as if he was never laying, the wolfs body above his head the blood drizzles down covering his face as it looks like he was almost bathing in it, kinking his head backwards he draws his mouth open as the flow of the wolfs blood pours out of the lifeless body into his mouth *Gulp gulp gulp* blood pouring down the corners of his lips as it trailed down to his neck his eyes ever watching the young elf as he finishes off the rest of the blood and throws the dry husk of the dead wolf behind him into the darkness. “Oh but Nip.. you think I care for that creature? A mere servant of mine, one of many” he chuckles as he watches her sword tip fly straight down into the dirt he appears just in front of her as he kicks the tip of the blade up into the air so her arm and the blade was extended out towards him the tip almost pressing against his bare chest “You should know.. The reason why I cannot be killed.. Is because I have no life to be killed” little did she know that Ice’s life force was transferred into a large gem that lays bedded into a demonic necklace, if one were to destroy the necklace it would surely kill ice for good, but many seek this necklace to control him not to kill him. His devilish hues glancing straight into hers as he tilts his head and walks forward the tip of the blade pierces his skin and dives deep inside of him cracking bone and flesh as it does blood drizzles down the edge of the blade as he continues walking until the blade appears a good 4 inches out of his back he raises his hands extending them outwards to his sides “What now dear nip? What is your plan now” he smirks, a twig snaps from behind as a head of a wolf appears walking out from the shadows towards Ice and then another… and another.. an entire pack of 12 Dire wolves just lingering in the darkness right before the light meets the dark the Main wolf bares it’s teeth as it lets out a hellish howl “I think you upset them” he smirks as his blood starts to drizzle down onto her hand that was holding the blade. “ You show a little teeth to bluff with the king of hell himself? You’re going to have to try a lot harder to attempt to keep me in line child” an evil laugh cackled from his lips as the wolves slowly start to pace forward into the light. Ice grips the hilt of the blade just in front of the sword as to make sure she could not move it at all. “Do tell me there is more to your plan than just a small light show?”
CharlotteCarrendar: The wolf was nothing to Ice than a mere servant. Nothing in the world meant anything to him. They were either in his way or could be used to his advantage. The drinking from the beheaded body only reinforced his disregard for the ending of the Wolf’s life. He wasn’t even shocked by the power that the Elf did have, though you would have thought he might have been a tiny bit impressed. The Master of deception. Nip breathes in through her nostrils, as the Daemon makes his move, kicking her blade from where the tip rested in the earth so that her arm would be brought up and the tip of the blade would now be facing his chest. Nip prepared herself for the oncoming of an attack, but what he did and said….shocked her to the core. He wasn’t even alive. And he wasn’t dead. He was the unholy as he proved this by impaling himself on her blade, letting it drive right through him. The sickening squelch of bone, muscle and flesh was horrifying. Nip’s eyes showed the reflection of Ice’s eyes as he bright himself right into her with the blood now running down over her hand. The pair were now facing off, far closer than they had ever been before. The vile daemon and the moon elf. She grit her teeth and turned the blade just to hear his insides crack further. Not that it would hurt him, but in a way to show she was no longer afraid. But then the sound of many other wolves approaching could be heard. Her eyes flickered towards the sight as they crept out and snarled angrily at her for the act of beheading the lead. Nip’s head turns slowly back to stare at Ice as he gripped the hilt of the blade to make sure she couldn’t move. The wolves were his servants….but there was one thing. If they were his, then in part they were hers. Gripping her fingers around the shield handle, the moment a wolf came anywhere close she would use it to lash out to strike a wolf and knock it flying. “I’m not afraid of you!” she screamed at Ice as she tried to push the blade in deeper. <3>
IceTe3a: He chuckles as he watches her petrified face, up close and personal she finally realized just what and who he was, as the blade stuck out of his back the blood continued to drizzle. The wolves start a circling motion as around the pair slowly snapping at the air and growling, ever slowly coming closer as he arches a brow her face goes firm she obviously found some courage left over. ‘I’m not afraid of you!’ she screamed out trying to re assure herself. The pack of wolves vanish into thin air as he smirks he feels her press forward with her hand trying to drive the blade in deeper, in which he lets go of the blade in turn causing her to ram the blade in as deep as it will go, the edge of the hilt pressing up against his chest as her body presses against his she would be able to see the entirety of the blade sticking out from his back as he stood there “Are you sure about that?” he chuckled slightly as he stood there allowing her to examine the blade that was now penetrating his entire chest and back. His eyes flash a dark black color he was up to something, but what? He starts to whisper ever so lightly into her mind but his lips weren’t moving, she wasn’t afraid than he was going to show her what he has done, everyone he’s killed, all the castles, cities and entire planets he has laid waste to each blood dripping detail and the best part, she would see it through his eyes as if she was actually him, the chant prepping itself. The collar did not react as it was not a harmful spell as the collar only stopped Ice from harming her physical body. “What is true fear? Fear of the unknown perhaps?” whispers into her mind “ Thief.. Child..” this all repeated though out the stages “Think how proud your clan would be, having bound the very king of hell, having him under your controlling hand. But who controls who really? Is this all real? Or are we just back in the cave and I’ve been playing with your mind the entire time?” he was now playing mind games with her, his whispers into her mind ever so hinting her to guess what was real and what was fake, his eyes still glowing as the chant was almost complete and ready to allow her to see everything he has done in his eyes.
CharlotteCarrendar: – Hurting one’s physical body was one thing, but to attack the mind was something else entirely. He wanted to hurt her but in a way that the collar could not possibly stop. Whispering his words with unseen movement of his lips, the pairs eyes were locked and that is when the real struggle began. The images and voices heard as though she was the Daemon herself. She could see every death, every city that fell at his hand. He was ruthless and without care for life in any sense. Nip’s body trembled and quaked as within her jacket pocket the small baby dragon was clutching on tight to her Mistress. ~What is fear…what is true fear?~ The horrors were unimaginable and she was unable to close her eyes. She could not get him out of her head. She clutched the weapons forcefully as the blade was still deep within the daemon’s chest. Reality was fast slipping from her, like everything around was becoming warped and fuzzy, but then she heard it. The cry of the baby dragon, and then her heart beat accelerated. The symbol on the shield of the silver dragon illuminated brightly. In order to fight hell, she was going to have to dig deep inside herself to send it from her own mind. She snapped her eyes shut as her mind raced and flickered and then when she placed her own fingers over Ice’s after he told her not touch him her eyes burst open and she sent back her own images. A great silver dragon, on which she rode….it breathed a white fire flame and with all the majesty the pair released a powerful blast that would have Ice fall back from the sword that he had been holding onto. What he witnessed…was the future. <3>
IceTe3a: He was showing her his past, everything he had done her body was trembling onto his as he knew she was watching without the ability to do anything about it. He was sharing memories, blood all over her hands this was something she would not likely forget for awhile. He felt her trying to get out of it as he continued with more power try to show her more but she was putting up a good fight in resisting. Suddenly the baby dragon chirps as the next thing he knows he feels her hand covering his eyes as a white flash comes from her palm he finds himself standing somewhere remote what was this? She obviously had magic of her own this much was obvious. “Impressive..” he slipped passed his lips as he looked on the Roar of a mighty dragon echoed as he looked up a giant white dragon flying over head the beast was larger than an ordinary dragon as its heavy wings flapped. Standing on top of the dragon was a white haired female on closer expectation he realized it was none other than Nip, the dragons mouth opens as pure white fire flows freely from its mouth with a mighty roar it filled the sky lighting up the darkness. So.. she was his counterpart, how interesting to find her in this world, but her of all people? Obviously she had not been awakened yet, oblivious to who and what she was she held immense power within her. Suddenly he gets sent flying back into the air the blade rips from his chest leaving a decent amount of blood sent flying into the air as well. His body starts to heal the wounds and broken bones slowly as he comes back to reality his body mid flight as the chain pulls at his collar it sends him flying fast over towards Nip and straight under her as he started flying in the air and falling down onto the ground landing hard on his back “Ugh.. fuck me” he said softly
CharlotteCarrendar:- When Ice landed with a sickening sound on the ground at her feet, Nip slowly lowered the blood covered sword as though what she had just seen both from her perspective and his could never be unseen. She was panting and staggered back. She didn’t understand what had happened between them, as the death and killings she saw were so powerful and twisted, it marred her mind. He was the King of Hell….and she was just an elf. Right? The truth however was far more dangerous. Nip placed the sword in the fire and the flames licked off the blood of the daemon, before she retracted it and then rammed it into the earth with the shield leaned up against it. Nip was mentally and physically drained. She sank to her knees and then lay down on the grass, while the dragon curled up inside her pocket. For now….both elf child and her dragon would sleep. No more could the torturous words of the daemon harm her. She had seen Hell….and survived. Tommorow was another day….but for this night, the battle was over. But who won? <3>
The sun had long set and yet the two of them had remained on the beach, sitting in the sand and staring out at the water. The ruined remains of their untouched dinner lay somewhere behind them, as each contemplated their roles in their relationship.
For Pandora, it was an eye-opening experience. How had a daughter she had never expected to have, come before her and give her the strength and hope she needed to forgive her man? And who exactly was Charlotte to Brock?
So many questions she had that she needed the answers to.
She looked up from where she had been resting her head on his shoulder, and saw the damage she’d caused him…the hurt and pain she had caused him. She reached up and shyly touched the scars along his face and jaw.
“I am so sorry about these. I wish there was something I could do to heal them.” she murmured, pressing a kiss to his bare shoulder. “But I understand so much now, why you wanted me to be that way with you.”
He remained quiet, didn’t look at her. Sighing, she got to her feet, dusting off her clothes. Her back was to him as she spoke once more.
“If that is what you want…all I can tell you is that I can try. I don’t like causing pain, I don’t like feeling dominate over someone else, stealing their free will. But I’ll try…for you.”
He still said nothing and she bowed her head.
“I’m staying at the Kahala Hotel, Suite 104…if you wish to talk more.” she added. “Good night, Brock.”
She strode back up the beach toward the hotel, leaving Brock with his thoughts. They still had some things to work through and she sincerely hoped he didn’t shut her out again. She was sure she would not survive a second time.
The waves continued to roll in with the white foam riding up the sand till almost touching Brock’s feet then ebbing away just as quickly. The night hadn’t gone according to play, not in the real sense. In a way he had a chance again, but in a way things would be different between them. Pandora saw what he truly was. Masked well beneath the glamorous facade that she had come to know, the hideous truth was exposed. The Beast. It was what he was. It was what his family were. It…was what his daughter would be. Though more a hybrid – one that held Brock and Pandora’s powers.
Brock’s punishment for his betrayal would forever more be seen. His face now disfigured and under certain light, his eyes had a sickly yellow hue. He was no longer…what women would consider attractive, not that he was ever vain about such things. The wounds were still raw, still fresh. Emblazoned upon his skin. His kind can heal such scars….but he chose not too. He felt the same way inside as he did outside. There would be no more lies…no more half truths. This was who he was. The path now taken would mean….he would have Hope. One way or another.
The young spider demon didn’t watch Pandora leave, for he knew which way she went. He needed a bit more time to gather himself before he would venture back to the hotel.
Pandora’s words washed over him, that she would try to be what he wanted…needed. It was what got them into the mess in the first place. Trying to achieve what came naturally for his kind. The women of his species were dominant. Charlotte was a perfect example of this. It was how it was. Brock had a lot to explain….and a lot of changes to make. He continued to watch the waves, till he pushed himself to standing and then headed back to the hotel. First, he would go to his room and change…then…face her.
Pandora’s apartment – Suite 104
There would be a knock at the door, as Brock stood outside dressed in a simple smart shirt and jeans. His hair still unkempt and that roguish look about him. One couple walked past him in the corridor, then whispered about his appearance. Brock didn’t comment but waited for Pandora to answer the door.
Once she did, he would walk in slowly till standing in the centre of the room. There was no mad embrace, no lover’s kiss. It was time to confess…to tell her everything.
Slowly he raised his gaze to hers.
“You probably have..a million questions. And I guess it would be only fair to let you ask them, but before you do, I need to explain…my behavior.” – he looked down a moment, and stared at the floor.- “The race my family is is known as Bebilith…demon spiders. I’m a demon.” He paused then looked up slowly. “We only change…to what you saw when threatened or…about to attack another.”
Taking a breath he then continued. “Our kind has a matriarch system. The…female is the dominant sex. Charlotte, my aunt is…the current Matriarch. She is the keeper and carer of the entire family. As I mentioned long ago, my mother died after childbirth from a virus. Ever since then Charlotte has played a key role in caring for our well being. It’s…why she came when she did….and it’s why she…had our daughter.”
Now was the tricky part. How did their daughter cross time?
“One of our abilities is to move from one plane of existence to another. Our…daughter can do it, like I can.”
“I should have explained…why…I asked you to…dominate me. It wasn’t cause I am some guy who is into kinks…I…experienced a need…that came from being what I am.” He sighed, for he knew her feelings on it. “I can fight..my own instinct if it means that you will have me again.”
The walk back to her room was slow and steady as she became lost in her own thoughts. Would he come see her, as she hoped? Or would he need more time?
So many revelations made this night…and in space of a few hours. Life was certainly full of surprises.
Reaching her door, she was about to press the key into the lock when she heard something strange…a rhythmic thumping noise coming from the direction of Jason’s room. Frowning, she stepped away from her own door and moved down the hall. The noises were louder and they were definitely coming from his room. She reached a hand up to knock when she was startled from doing so by a sharp feminine cry coming from behind the door.
“Yes! Oh God, Jason!”
“Jane…oh fuck!”
Stunned and wondering what the hell went on between those two while she was away, she quietly crept away from the door and went to her own room, a wry smile on her face.
She stripped out of her dress and ducked into the shower to wash the grime and sand off of her body.
Once cleaned and dried again, she slipped into her nightie and then a short robe before she ran a comb through her damp hair. She had just finished doing that when there was a tentative knock on her door. Nervous, she set down the comb and got to her feet, approaching the door slowly.
She grasped the knob and took a deep breath before she opened it to see Brock standing on the threshhold. In the light of the room, the scars stood out in stark relief against his skin and yet he never looked more handsome. She stepped aside to allow him entry before closing the door.
He stood in the center of the room, not moving to embrace her, which she was slightly thankful for, given the chaotic nature of her thoughts. He seemed to be gathering himself before he finally brought his gaze to hers. She felt her heart sink as she took in the yellowish hue of one of his eyes. Was that her doing, or the result of his spider demon? She swallowed past the lump in her throat and waited for him to speak.
And speak he did, explaining to her who and what he was, his family geneology and how their daughter was able to come to this plane of existence. He even explained why he had wanted her to dominate him, it was how their society worked.
It went a long way to explaining why he had wanted her to be that way with him.
“I can fight..my own instinct if it means that you will have me again.”
She was silent for a few moments as she gathered her thoughts. But there was simply only one thing she could say.
“Why didn’t you tell me all this sooner, Brock? Did you think I wouldn’t understand? Leave you? Call you a liar? What?” There was no anguish or anger in her tone. It was genuine curiosity and concern. She really wanted to understand him more. If they had that, they would be able to move on. He would be able to hear the concern in her tone.
“Why didn’t you tell me all this sooner, Brock? Did you think I wouldn’t understand? Leave you? Call you a liar? What?”
Brock sighed and then he explained the truth from his perspective.
“I don’t know if you remember…but, you are the first real relationship I have had. I learnt from my brothers how women reacted to the …truth. Orson…he just is able to control himself I guess, either that or he is a total man whore.”
This might have brought some laughter from Pandora, maybe not.
“I tried to be how human men are….taking their ladies to dinner, lunches..cooking food…women like that, I think.”He was trying not to dig a hole too deep, but either way at least it was the truth. “I was afraid you wouldn’t understand if I acted like…I’m supposed too. It’s hard living as something you’re not..”
He rang his hands as he spoke, and then winced as one of the scars seemed to be weeping. Then came the horrible part of his confession. “Then when I went into Simone’s room…bathroom was littered with images of dominating…she..uhm…and, I don’t know what came over me.” it was probably dangerous ground on which to be treading, but he felt he needed to be heard.
“I don’t know if you remember…but, you are the first real relationship I have had. I learnt from my brothers how women reacted to the …truth. Orson…he just is able to control himself I guess, either that or he is a total man whore.” he grinned, somewhat shyly at her.
Pandora couldn’t help herself. She chuckled at that. Having met Orson the one time, she got the sense he didn’t care what woman warmed his sheets so long as he had one to do so.
Brock took a deep breath and continued speaking; how he tried to be like a normal, mortal man – trying to do the things those men do, such as dates and cooking.
“I was afraid you wouldn’t understand if I acted like…I’m supposed too. It’s hard living as something you’re not..”
She watched his hands twist together and stared at him critically when one of the wounds along his cheek seemed to break open and begin weeping. If he didn’t take care of it, infection was sure to set in. She frowned and got to her feet as he continued speaking, going into the bathroom and getting the first aid kit the hotel left for their guests to use if needed. She returned to the room and took Brock’s hand, pushing him to sit upon her bed.
She let him continue talking as she poured some anticeptic upon a sterilized cloth.
“Then when I went into Simone’s room…bathroom was littered with images of dominating…she..uhm…and, I don’t know what came over me….You probably didn’t want to hear that….”
She dabbed at the wound on his face as she thought about what she would say.
“No…I didn’t want to hear about it…but I’m glad you told me.” she stated in a soft voice. “And I understand now…your instincts were calling to you. And she’s pretty domineering. Doesn’t excuse what you did, mind you. But I understand it. And Brock…” she turned his face so that she could see his eyes, “I do know what it’s like to try to be something you’re not. My mother tried to sell me out to her child-raping, drug-addicted husband. And I kept that secret deep within me for a long time. I tried to be the tough bitch everyone was used to seeing…but you…tore down the walls that I built like they were tissue paper. You made it seem so easy.” She ran her fingers through his hair, marvelling at its soft texture. “I think that’s when I realized that I was starting to love you. And I tried to hide that too.”
She taped a dry bandage over his face, after applying some first aid gel to keep the wound clean. It was the least she could do for causing his injuries. She didn’t know that he could have healed them with a thought. He did not move from her side and feeling empowered, she pressed a light kiss to his forehead.
Brock sat perfectly still as Pandora cleaned the wound. it stung each time she pressed the cloth against her skin. He didn’t speak as she accepted what he had told her. He had been hiding his true self for so long that he had forgotten what he was. The truth in a way was liberating. Brock’s eyes darted to hers and held them.
“The time apart from you taught me a lot. About myself, and all I had done wrong. Not just with you but with others. I let my anger lash out and…instead of being true, I made it worse.” As she pressed her lips to his forehead he closed his eyes, and a single tear fell. It rolled down over the cleaned wounds and through it.
“I could say I am sorry every day for the rest of my life….or I could be a better man, and step up like I should have.”He opened his sickly yellow eyes and whispered. “I just want to find my way back to you.”
A single light was on in the room, lending an almost intimate setting between the two of them. She drew back from her kiss to see a tear roll down his cheek, soaking into the bandage on his face.
“Brock…” she whispered, but he continued to speak as if he hadn’t heard her.
“I could say I am sorry every day for the rest of my life….or I could be a better man, and step up like I should have…I just want to find my way back to you.”
And just like that, his words freed her heart from the pain she had suffered for the past week. She got to her feet, returning the first aid supplies to the bathroom and disposing of what she had used. She didn’t return to his side right way. She moved to turn off the light, allowing the moon to provide all the light they needed.
She moved to stand between his spread legs, close enough that he could smell the lavendar lotion she used from her shower. She reached for the tie of her robe, slowly drawing it away from her body and allowing the material to slide down her arms. She caught it with one hand and tossed it away from her. She stood before him in a simple nightie. It wasn’t her usual black, but a nice floral pattern that had never been seen on her body, ever.
She spoke not a word and when it looked as if he wanted to say something, she gently pressed a finger to his lips and shushed him.
She reached for his hands and rested his palms on her shoulders, before dropping her own hands. She had just given him permission to touch her in any way he wanted.
A moon beam illuminated the beauty that was Pandora. In a light slip of fabric that was so soft and pretty. Flowers of spring woven into silk. No words left his lips for she had already silenced him with just a simple finger. Taking his hands and placing them upon her shoulders and then letting her hands fall free. His large calloused digits ran over the silky smoothness of her skin. So warm beneath his fingers. Her supple shoulders so rounded and he let his hands smooth over her gentle curves before bringing a hand back up to place behind her neck – fingers feeling their way through her hair. She smelt so wonderful; of lavender and this relaxed him further. Gently he pulled her towards him as he enjoyed what would be the first kiss that night of many. Lips pressed to hers as he savored her taste.
Brock could feel her surrender as she would return his kisses with her own. His other hand ran down her spine till resting upon her rounded globes, which he caressed lovingly. There was no rush..no burning need to be sated. Brock wanted to enjoy her…this single moment. For it was the beginning of their new found love. Brock would show her this night what true love was. He pledged his heart and soul to her at that moment. Never again to venture from her side.
Titanpad Roleplay Session: April 28, 2014
Roleplay Group: Ladies Night RP (Hawaii Timeline)
Players: CharlotteCarrendar as Brock and LadyBelz as Pandora
LadyBelz: Pandora froze when she heard that voice…his voice…again. He was the last person she was expecting to see, and in Hawaii of all places.
She turned around…and there he was. Her heart was pounding fiercely in her chest as she stared at him. He looked even more gorgeous then the last time she’d seen him…and considering where the last time she’d seen him was…she didn’t want to go there.
“Hi.” she mumbled, unsure and very confused about what she was feeling at seeing him again. “What are you doing here?”
—–
CharlotteCarrendar: It was like the two of them were both frozen in place. Each acknowledging the other with a simple one word greeting. Brock was swallowing nervously as she just stood there. The breezed gently teasing her hair about her face. He wanted to break into a run and scoop her up in his arms, but he knew that she wasn’t ready for such things.
“I…came to apologize.”
It was the first thing he could think of to say. Raking back his unkept locks he glanced out at the waves as though trying to reign in his thoughts. His chin seemed to quiver before he returned his gaze to her.
“Pan…I know what I did, and I know you probably will never forgive me.” He glanced down as his brow knitted. “Just….tell me that it’s over, and I promise never to see you again.”
—–
LadyBelz: Hearing him say that he came to apologize gave her anger due cause to ignite like the fires of hell. Her frown went dark and she actually laughed at him, a horrible sound, so unlike her usual, joyous laughter of joy and happiness. It was an anguished kind of laugh.
“You? Apologize? For what? Breaking my heart? Ripping it out of my chest and stomping it into the dirt like it was dog shit on your shoe? For fucking my best friend? Is that what you’re apologizing for? Don’t make me puke.” she snarled.
Oh she was angry…way beyond pissed…and now she had an outlet to vent her anger.
“How am I supposed to forgive you for what you did? I’m supposed to say, what? ‘Oh it’s okay Brock! You just fucked my best friend! No big deal!’ Well guess what, buddy boy? It was a BIG fucking deal! And for what?? Because I wouldn’t be your dom?” She laughed again, tears threating to burn her eyes. “Tell me something…did you enjoy fucking her? Did she spank you like the bitch you are?”
Yep…she was very pissed.
—–
CharlotteCarrendar:- There was no escaping it. The fury and fiery rebuttal to Brock’s apology was a scorcher, In fact, it was now getting so hot that the sand that Brock stood on was starting to heat up. Every word, every phrase cut like a knife, as though tearing through his very flesh to make him bleed. Every time he tried to interject, she hit back, again and again. But then it got below the belt. Soon Brock’s fingers were curling into fists. The veins in his neck were starting to bulge as his heart ferioucously started to beat pure venom into his system.
“Wait…wait just a mintue! You…you were the one that practically ignored me when you were in hosptial. Told the Doctors that you would go be with Kali for your recovery….YOU JUST MOVED IN WITH ME! How was I to feel, Pandora? To be rejected when I was sitting ….RIGH THERE!”
The fury was building and he was fast losing control of it.
“I SAW HIM!…I SAW YOU LEAVE THE HOSPITAL WITH ANOTHER MAN!”
There it was out. He was no snorting violently as he pointed at her.
“What was I to think? You reject me and then get some fuck to come pick you up? Yes…I went to Simone’s cause I needed someone to talk to….and apologize to her. I THOUGHT YOU DUMPED ME!”
His voice was getting raised as his skin started to shift and alter…
“Yes, I fucked her. Did I enjoy it? NO! Why? Cause she’s not you!”
Brock’s breathing became eratic as he stood there, the wind around him was starting to whip up. From across the vast reaches of time and space, a single female’s voice cried
“Brock….don’t”
(Charlotte)
She could not be seen, but her presence felt. Brock roared at the sky.
(translation : “You told me to try….you told me to try and she hates me!”)
—-
LadyBelz: By the time Brock finished his speech, Pandora was clutching her stomach, laughing so hard she nearly fell to her knees.
“Ignored you? I wasn’t ignoring you. You walked out on me, remember? You’re the godamn reason I was in the hospital in the first fucking place! You had me all messed up in the head. I didn’t know what to think, what to feel. You left me sitting in your million dollar apartment, alone, ‘to go think’ you said to me. I left right after you did to clear my head and think about what I wanted out of this relationship. I tried calling you. You never answered. I was coming back to you so we could talk. And then…in the hospital…when I said that I should probably recover at a friend’s…I only said that because I didn’t know what you wanted from me. You just stared at me like I was a bug on a windshield…and you walked out on me again! You say you love me…why didn’t you fucking fight for me, Brock? Why didn’t you step up and say, “No…she’s coming home with me and I don’t care what she says about it.” I waited…and you left. What the hell was I supposed to think?
She stood up straight, her gaze dark and full of hurt. “Yes…I left the hospital with another man. I admit that. I called Mark, who works with me at the bar…Mark, who’s practically my boss…for a lift home because no one was there to take me. YOU WEREN’T THERE!”
She swiped at her eyes, no longer stunned that tears were rolling down her cheeks. Seemed she’d been doing that a lot lately where Brock was concerned.
“And then…Simone…how can you justify that to me? Saying it wasn’t me when it should have been. What the hell was going through your mind at that time, I would sure as hell like to know.”
She stared at him as he seemed to shout to the heavens in some language she couldn’t understand. Shaking her head, she turned her back to him.
“What the hell do you want from me, Brock?”
——
CharlotteCarrendar: Her words seemed to be coming to him as though in a vaccum, like she was speaking but it had a strange echo to it. She was laughing at him, telling him how it was all his fault. How he should have been more of a man, taken charge of the relationship. Ordered her to come home with him from the hospital. His eyes now a sickly green stared at her as she continued on, of how she had someone from work – Mark; take her home, cause he wasn’t there.
Another hard hit. Simone. The one woman in both their lives that had since caused grief, be it in her trying to help, or then succumbing to primal urges with Brock at the word that he and Pan were no longer together.
“I was there….” Brock said as the human side of him wrestled with the inner demon that was urging to come forward. “I was always there…” His head started to rise as a terrible look came over his face. His skin now rippled with the poisons that had come to the surface.
“I…haven’t been….myself with you….really.”
The horrible truth was now starting to emerge. He held his hand up before his face, as the fingers were starting to alter in shape. The morph was always one of the most dreadful things that can happen to a spider demon….and on that beach, it was about to show itself.
“I’m…..not…..h…”
The last word was cut off as he tipped his head back, and then the horribe spine snapping – bone breaking could be heard as a large black swelling came from his back. Six long legs, like that of a massive spider were emerging as the human facade was being almost eaten alive by the spider within….
A gurgling sound rippled from his throat as his head grew to that of the most disgusting a vile looking creature ever to be spat out of the belly of Satan. A dull roar was building as massive spear like legs slammed into the sand, and if Pandora was to turn around, she would be confronted by a four tonne beast. Green poisonous saliva dripping down from it’s mandibles.
It could not speak english….it was no longer Brock.
—–
LadyBelz: “No…you were never there.” she whispered, keeping her back to him. There was silence for a long moment before he spoke again…but there was something…off…about his voice.
There was a horrible squelching sound behind her, causing her to frown. A sense of foreboding overrode her senses and she slowly turned around – almost like she was some damsel in distress in a horror flick.
What she saw…made her eyes go wide.
Where Brock once stood…was now a massively large spider. It was as if one had stepped out of the television screen of those cheesey horror monster movies she was always watching on cable on the weekends.
“Oh…my…god…” she breathed, her heart beating a rapid beat against her ribcage. “Fucking hell!” She began to back away slowly, wondering how she ended up alone on a beach in one of the most popular places on the planet, with something out a child’s worse nightmare.
“Fuck me sideways!” she whispered, continuing to back away. She wondered if she could make a run for it…
Each step she took back…it would seem, the beast would take one forward.
“Shit!” she whispered, clenching her fists at her sides, feeling her powers singing through her veins. She didn’t want to, but it was her life now on the line. And despite the fact, deep down, she knew it was Brock…there was anything but Brock that she could see in the demon’s eyes.
She would have to hurt him if it came down to it.
And as much as he had hurt her with his actions with Simone…she still loved him.
“Damn me to hell anyway.”
——
CahrlotteCarrendar:- Through all the eyes now focused on the retreating Pandora, the beast was now incensed. It knew nothing of love, and only hate and rage. As Pandora crept backwards, the collosal arachnid was marching forward, much like you would see a tarantula stalking it’s prey. The Bebilith knew nothing of the danger that Pandora possessed, and that was her use of fire. The one thing that could end him, once and for all.
Large pincer like claws came whistling through the air and snapped wildly at Pandora and it chittered violently, almost like it was plotting whether or not to wrap her up in a cocoon or simply snap her in half.
It would take a bit of fancy foot work to evade the powered lunges with the pincer like claws. You have to remember this spider is over 20 feet tall, and over 18 feet across. The bebilith roared loudly again at Pandora, spraying the ground with a foul substance that actually made the sand sizzle and change a horrid colour of putrid green.
~SNAP SNAP SNAP~ Went the pincer claws, while each leg created a tremor as it thundered into the earth.
—–
LadyBelz: The large pinchers whistled through the air, aiming for her head and she had to duck quickly to avoid them. This was going to take everything she had to not harm Brock…but also not end up as spider food in the process.
The spider demon’s roar shook the ground beneath her feet as she continued to back away. Why was no one coming to investigate? Was there something about this creature that made people instinctively stay away?
The ground was sprayed with an acidic substance, eating away at the sand and decimating any creatures that used it as their home.
“Nasty” she muttered, feeling her hands heating up at her sides. “Back away, spider. This is one meal that won’t be easy to catch.” she muttered. The pinchers came at her again and at the last possible moment, she dived, ducked and rolled, coming up beneath the underbelly of the creature. Her hands shot out, a blast of fire hitting the creature point blank range – just enough to let it know that she wasn’t backing down from the fight. She rolled away from the beast as it screamed out its pain and anger and took off at run down the opposite side of the beach. She had to lead it away from civilization before someone discovered them.
——
CharlotteCarrendar: – The moment the beast was struck by fire, it started a chain reaction as the fluids from it’s mandibles caught fire as well. The greatest weakness of a bebilith….was fire. It was the danger he risked…it was the danger he knew. The roar that came up from his insides had a shock wave like affect that even blew the trees back and knocked out all the fire torches. The table on which they were to dine was blown over. That was one meal that they were never going to have.
The sound….reached a long long way. In the Cathedral of fiends, four hundred children all stopped and looked to the Matriarch, as the sound echoed through the tunnels. In the dead nation, a small red headed child with a mask looked up to the ceilings of the caves. She heard it as well. In Lacardis, both Charlotte and Taru stopped what they were doing in their seperate locations. In Seattle…four brothers all stopped and stared at each other.
Izu was at his desk, writing a letter, when he heard it.
But who would come?
In the midst of the fire and angered leg strikes of the bebilth, a small child emerged, who had crossed the very expanses of space…truth be told…she hadn’t been born yet in this time.
The child raised up her hands to the massive bebilith and spoke in fluent Rhefugi.
(translation : “If you do this…I will never be born.”)
The child looked back over her shoulder at Pandora, and smiled.
“He has a really bad temper, you know…..Mommy.”
The little girl then walked right up to the Bebilith and started to rub it’s front leg, as it slowly lowered it’s head at the child, turning it side on and back. The grumbling continued, but the pincers lowered.
“See? You don’t have to do this.”
The child’s hair was the colour of her fathers, her eyes…like her Mother’s.
A second being appeared and it was Charlotte. Charlotte had known all along. She came over and shook her head at the giant Arachnid.
“Not exactly the way we hoped you would find out Brock.” She placed a hand on the girl’s shoulders, who wrapped a small arm around her great Aunt. Glancing back at what would probably be a stunned Pandora, Charlotte said.
“We’re sorry. You should have been told earlier. But we had to let…nature take it’s course till he put himself in such danger it risked…..her.” She looked down at the little girl, who then whispered something in Rhefugi to her Great aunt.
“Yes…I will allow it.”
The child then released her aunt and slowly walked over to Pandora and offered her hand to her.
“They told me you were beautiful.”
In the background, Brock had already started to morph back, as painful as it was he kept his cries quiet in light of who was there. Charlotte kept guard over him until it was over and a burnt man lay on the ground.
—-
Pandora had paused when she heard a little girl’s voice and she whirled around in shock, feeling her heart freeze in her chest. There was a small child, no more then 5 or 6, standing right in front of the giant spider, talking to it as if it were a disobedient child itself.
And she called him “Daddy”.
What shocked her more…was when the little girl turned to look at Pandora and called her “Mommy”. The girl’s eyes were as familiar as her own. She should know…she saw them every time she looked in the mirror.
Pandora’s hand went to her mouth in shock, even more so when another person appeared, an older woman this time. The woman spoke to Brock, talking about taking risks and doing dangerous things.
The child whispered something to the woman, who then nodded and released the girl. Pandora could only stare, speechless, as the child…HER child…walked up to her and took her hand, telling her she was beautiful. Pandora laughed, a light sound, as tears leaked from her eyes. She knelt until she was eye-level with the girl.
“And you’re just as gorgeous as your daddy.” she chuckled, tears clogging her voice. Behind them, Brock was morphing back to himself as Pandora spoke to their daughter, for there was no denying that is who this child was.
And it gave her hope…hope that just maybe she and Brock could get past this.
Getting to her feet, she took the girl by the hand and made her way to the woman’s side as she stood over Brock.
“Is…” she gulped, “…did I hurt him, badly?” she whispered.
——
CharlotteCarrendar: “He has….what you call…third degree burns. He will be disfigured from this.” It was true. The damage done to him as a large arachnid was captured forever more on his face and chest. Blood red scar like welts that ran like lightning bolts across his face, chest and back.
Charlotte didn’t mince with words, as Brock slowly rose to his feet. His body charcoal coloured and he still had the yellow stains in his eyes. The child found a towel that was on the beach and offered it to her father.
“I think you need this, Daddy.” Well, he was naked.
Quietly, he took it and wrapped it around himself. His secret was now out, as well as that of the child that they would one day have. He was so close to losing it all. Even her.
“Thank you.” He didn’t want to call her daughter, but he knew well who she was. The little girl took Charlotte’s hand and asked. “Can we stay?” Sadly Charlotte shook her head.
“Our time here….is limited.”
This was the second time she had said it, and Brock knew why. The child was saddened by this, and then went to hug her smouldering father before she had to go. As she did this, Charlotte approached Pandora.
“He was right about one thing. You are the love of his life.” She showed a soft smile, before she turned back to take the child’s hand.
“Time to take you home.”
The little girl waved to Pandora and her father.
“Aunt Charlotte calls me Hope….though I am not sure why.”
Just as this is said, the two vanish from sight leaving Brock standing near Pandora. He bowed his head ashamed….and couldn’t find the words to say.
—-
LadyBelz: Pandora watched as the woman known as Charlotte…and the child who called herself “Hope” vanished from their plane of existence, leaving two bruised hearts to once again face one another.
Pandora spoke first, knowing what exactly she was going to say.
“I’m sorry I…burned you…” she murmured, looking down at her hands, “I didn’t want to become spider food.”
She took a deep breath and brought her head up to stare at him. “You…hurt me. In the worst possible way…but I hurt you too. By not talking to you first…and things got all muddled and confusing and then it was too late. I keep asking myself if I should have fought harder for us. And my answer is yes. I should have talked to you first, instead of going to my friends. I should have told the doctor that I was staying with you. But my heart was bleeding…”
She was babbling, not thinking she was making any sort of sense. But the whole time…there was one thought runnning through her head…it had popped up there the moment she saw him standing on the beach.
“How can I forgive you…if I can’t forgive myself?” she whispered. Again, tears welled up in her eyes and she turned away from him so he wouldn’t see them.
——
CharlotteCarrendar: If it was one thing that Brock knew about Pandora, it was when she started to babble, and when that started, her mind wasn’t really in a set pattern. She just let the words pour out of her, her body language showing fatigue of everything. She found in herself that there was errors on both side, that they both had reason to find blame with the other. The first steps…was to forgive.
Brock appeared before her, and cupped her face in his hands, staring her down.
“You forget one thing….”
At this he then kissed her….he kissed her the same way he did the first time they met…the second…the third…all the times that they had shared intimacy, rolling in a wave, again and again. Breaking the kiss, he said to her…
“…we have Hope.”
—-
LadyBelz: They had Hope. It was a strange concept…and even stranger still was her feelings when he kissed her. She should have been disgusted and disturbed that she was allowing him to do so. But she wasn’t.
When he pulled away, she couldn’t help herself. Her hand hauled back and slapped him across the face. Oh she knew that had to hurt, with his skin burnt as it was, but she had been dying to do that for a long time.
“That was for hurting me!” she growled. A second later, she yanked his head down to hers by the back of his neck. “And this is because I still love you.” And she kissed him passionately.
And it was as if nothing had changed between them. The fires of passion that had ignited their very souls from Day 1 were burning hotter and brighter then any star in the sky.
She could forgive him for everything, because she loved him. Would she forget? Most likely not. But it went a long way to repairing their damaged relationship.
There were a lot of things in Pandora’s life that were strange or unusual. She didn’t let it effect her. Being who she was, she was immune to the strangeness.
And yet with Jason’s announcement, followed by his entire body shimmering into that of ice…she thought maybe she had yet to see all that life had to offer.
Her mouth dropped open in stunned surprise, her eyebrows disappearing into her hairline as she stared at the glimmering blue man before her. The temperature in the room dropped considerably, but she adjusted her own body’s temperature to compensate. And we all know what happens when warm and cool air meet. Steam began to rise up in small whisps from the carpet beneath her feet.
“How long have you known your powers, Miss LaRue? Because you are pretty bad at controlling it.”
At that she frowned.
“I’ve had them all my life. And for your information, I have no problem controlling what I do. It’s just when I get upset or angry does it get out of my control.” Demonstating, she quickly lit her hand on fire before closing her fingers to douse the flames.
“Well, Doc…you are certainly full of surprises.” she chuckled.
“Not half as much as you Miss LaRue. But what with your fiery temper tantrums since you arrived here, I really shouldn’t be all that surprised.”
The Doctor started to thaw back to his usual mortal state as he watched the timely display of Pandora showing she had control over her fire abilities. Course, that didn’t explain the outburst that destroyed half the car park. The Doctor had a much more calm and reserved way of acting, and thus this often made him seem ice cold. His bedside manner continued right up to this moment in time, but he did have questions for Miss LaRue.
“So you just destroyed about five cars….from what? Bad company, or perhaps I am missing something here.”
He sat down in the chair beside her and rested his chin on his upturned palm, his elbow on the arm rest. He observed her as though he was a therapist of sorts….which he was in all reality.
“I try not to destroy other people’s property as it is a punishable offence in most countries.” His breathe could be visibly seen since Pandora was still quite hot.
“Miss LaRue, wouldn’t it be better to perhaps confide in someone, rather than explode like you just did?”
Hearing that she exploded 5 cars and left a crater-sized hole in the parking lot brought her back to reality.
“Shit.” she muttered, sitting forward and clenching her fingers in her hair in agitation.
Sometimes in life, one needs to be strong, but the strong also need someone to lean on.
She looked up at the Doc as he waited for her reply.
“I got a text from a friend. She was apologizing for something she had done. And I got upset. End of story.” she shrugged, not really wishing to go into the whole sordid story with him.
Pandora wanted to just brush over the details and give a sketchy account of what went wrong at the Luau. To the Doctor, it felt like a massive cop out. He actually was dissapointed in her, if that could be believed. Her body language showing a “fuck you” attitude, and if he was less of a man he would have slapped her.
“So…someone apologizes which I might add takes some guts to do, and you…blow up a few cars.”
The Doctor rose to standing and walked towards the large balcony doors, and placed his hand up to the glass, where lines of frost etched out in a delicate pattern. Beautiful, that is what some would call it. He lowered his head slightly as the painful memories still haunted him.
” Do you have…any idea what it is like..watching someone you love with everything in your being, and having the knowledge on how to cure the sick…To know you have such great power in your hands. Then not be able to save the one person….she…” His voice broke off, and he turned to look at Pandora.
“I got the call while on a shift as my wife lay dying…..that she passed away.”
You could see ice like tears falling from his eyes.
“YOU…have no idea how that felt. You …have no idea how hard it is to control such emotions and not want to destroy everything around you…all because for all you were, you were unable to stop her death.”
“Whatever it was…that message. Whatever it was that brought you here. You have a second chance. You still can have that dream. Unlike me.”
“So…someone apologizes which I might add takes some guts to do, and you…blow up a few cars.”
He made it sound like she had started a nuclear war. She snorted. He got to his feet and moved toward the balcony, pressing his fingers to the glass and leaving behind a beautiful ice sketching. His head dropped and it seemed as if a great weight was resting on his shoulders.
And then…in a halting voice, he told her of the night his wife died while he was on duty. He looked at her, tears in his eyes and freezing upon his cheeks.
“YOU…have no idea how that felt. You …have no idea how to control such emotions and not want to destroy everything around you…all because for all you were, you were unable to stop her death.” He breathed deeply, struggling for control.“Whatever it was…that message. Whatever it was that brought you here. You have a second chance. You still can have that dream. Unlike me.”
Again, she snorted. But her anger was a sight to behold. She moved to her feet, her body glowing red, flames licking at her skin. He had brought up memories she wanted to forget.
“Second chance? I shouldn’t have to put myself out there for a second chance. It was NOT MY FAULT!” she roared. “Do you think I asked for my boyfriend, someone I thought I could love for the rest of my fucking life to go behind my back and fuck my best friend on her bathroom floor? I didn’t think my heart could shatter into a thousand pieces like it did that day! Part of me DIED when I saw them together! Why in the HELL do they deserve a second chance, when they were the ones who fucked up!? EXPLAIN THAT TO ME!!”
To her credit, nothing exploded or caught on fire by the end of her rant, but she was breathing rather hard, as if she had been running a marathon. Tears gathered in her eyes as the pain consumed her and she broke into tearful sobs that seemed to well up from her soul. She swiped at them angrily, embarassed to be caught out like that, but the tears continued to fall.
“They killed me.” she whispered, her voice full of pain and desolation…and all-consuming heartache.
She had loved Brock with everything she was…and he broke her.
How was she supposed to get past that?
How could she offer forgiveness…when she couldn’t even forget what her eyes had seen?
“I used to think I knew what I wanted out of my life. A career, friends…and maybe later on, someone to spend my life with.” She laughed, an ugly sound. “Some life this turned out to be.”
She turned away from him, her shoulders visibly shaking as she finally let go of the pain and anger that had consumed her the moment she was betrayed. She mourned for lost loves and lost friendships, never once thinking that maybe Simone and Brock were hurting as much as she was. She just didn’t think it was possible.
“Nothing good ever happens to me. I don’t know what I thought this would be different.” she sniffed. “Story of my fucking life.”
She turned to look at him, her eyes red-rimmed, a few stray tears sliding down her cheeks. “So you see, Doc. I’m one of those people who don’t deserve a happy ever after because everything I touch turns to shit. Don’t know what the hell I was thinking.”
Ever heard the expression “to fight fire with fire”? The Doctor’s admission of what had happened to him and his reasons for being on the Island only brought the fury of Pandora’s anger to the surface. Like a volcano that had been laying in wait for the right moment to explode, that was the catalyst. The very idea of showing forgiveness to the two people that she loved the most betraying her in such a way she could not begin to fathom.
The room felt as though it was charging hot again, and though Pandora’s rage did not bring about a fiery explosion like that of the car park, it was the words she said. The venom tainted hate and anger that bubbled to the surface like molten lava – rippling and flowing out of her in a river that was her tormented soul on display.
This was exactly what the Doctor had hoped for. For when you finally admit to yourself and others why you are in such pain – then and only then can the healing process begin. Pandora said they killed her, smashed her heart into millions of pieces. Broken beyond repair. She thought she knew what happiness was. Having the things in life that make you feel complete and whole. For a time, it was what she had. Did she miss the feeling more than the people?
They had betrayed her. Made mistakes as you would expect humans to do. Anger and bitterness make for terrible bedfellows, and lead us into temptation all so easily. For all she was hurting, they were too. Simone reached out and got the wrong kind of reaction, which thankfully she never saw. Brock…one could only imagine what he was feeling at this point in time.
The Doctor approached Pandora, and then very carefully enveloped her in an embrace. There was nothing sexual in this act, more so to let her know, she was not alone. He was touching her, with his cold body pressed close.
“Not everything you touch turns to shit.”
He looked down at her, his eyes like glass pools. Another lost soul like her.
“I wished I had died with her, you know. But I know, my purpose in this life is to help others. People like you.”
She stared at the Doc, her soul laid bare, all the pain, anguish, anger, rage and sadness out there for him to see as clear as day.
He did something so unexpected, it jolted her for a moment: he walked toward her and pulled her into his arms in a comforting hug. There was nothing sexual in the act, just that of a person who knew what pain was and was offering to take away some of the burden.
“Not everything you touch turns to shit.” he stated, drawing back and staring down at her with eyes as blue as the ice in his veins. “I wished I had died with her, you know. But I know, my purpose in this life is to help others. People like you.”
She had to admit, even if it was to herself, that she did feel slightly better for voicing her sorrows out loud. Her shoulders didn’t feel so heavy with her emotions.
She pressed her fevered cheek to his chest, taking that coolness into herself. Her body’s temperature began to come down as her anger slowly left. “How am I supposed to get passed this? I know I should talk to the two of them…but I don’t know if I can face them without wanting to smash them IN the face.”
And then she voiced something she never would have ever admitted to anyone…that despite everything…
The heat of Pandora’s body was ebbing away, just like that of her foul temper. Both so fiery and yet through speaking out loud and giving voice to her tortured soul she was able to feel a certain amount of weight coming off of her. In order to be understood, the other party listening had to know pain, and the good Doctor knew it better than anyone. Surprisingly, he was her opposite, in every sense of the word, and it was this difference that created a balance like harmony between them. A new friendship dawned on the crumbled remains of their former lives.
Pandora’s words were now soft. Barely above a whisper as though she was now sharing with Jason her most guarded secrets. The rough and tough Pandora was truly unique, in that she presented such strength to the world, and yet there was this inner child, that needed to be held – to be told everything would be okay. The Doctor was one that upheld an oath as part of his profession, and this was that she was still his patient, and all said between them would remain that way.
“How am I supposed to get passed this? I know I should talk to the two of them…but I don’t know if I can face them without wanting to smash them IN the face.”
“Rome was not built in a day, and fractured friendships cannot simply be mended overnight. It’s going to take time to learn and trust again. They need to earn that from you. Patience, is what you need. If I am right, they are hurting too.”
Then…the truth finally came out about Pandora’s feelings for Brock.
“I still love him…does that make me a fool?”
“No, it makes you a woman who loves so deeply, that even after this sort of circumstance, that you give hope that maybe there will be a new chance. Your anger was justified in every way, but when our anger is gone, we are left with the realization of what is left, and what can be salvaged. If you open your heart to him….and he to you, there is no reason why you can’t give love a second chance. And I am sure, he loves you more than you possibly could ever imagine.”
