666 Mockingbird Lane
Welcome to the home of Vladmir Dracula, Count Dracula.
He has come to this small hamlet, in search of something he’d thought lost many centuries before.
Along with his generals, Emilia and Rheksas, he has plans…many plans…
And this small town will never be the same again.

Vlad’s Mansion – Sitting Room

Vlad remained in his seat as Emilia paced and ranted at him. He wasn’t really listening, but thinking of how much he was disappointed in the young woman. He trusted her above all others, had been honest with her from the very beginning and she still did not heed his warnings. He could not recall one single instance in their centuries together where he encouraged her in her current behavior.

image

“I did everything you ever asked, including tonight, my….Lord. But again, you only care for that….woman. How many years..no how many centuries has it been? Hmm? And you still pine for her…I may be a General…but I am after all, a woman. A woman who has lived all these years loving but one man. My only crime is that I wasn’t enough for you.” And there it was, in the open for all to hear. He continued to stare at her, expressionless as he thought of what he should do. And still she issued ultimatums. “So, you have a choice, my Lord. End this life or banish me. It’s obvious I am no longer of use to you.” And she dared to stand before him, hands on hips, like a nagging fishwife? It was time to teach her who exactly was the Master and who was the Childe in this relationship.

image

His body was a blur as he launched himself from his seated position. The chair he had been in, slammed backward into the wall, smashing into pieces with the force of his ire. This went unnoticed as he pressed Emilia across the room into the wall, a single hand around her throat, his talons pressed tightly against her skin. His face was inches from her own and she would be able to see the rage in the blackness of his eyes.

“You dare!” he hissed. “I took you in when you had nowhere else to go! Your own pack tossed you aside and left you to die and out of the KINDNESS of my non-existent heart, I claimed you as My Childe! And you would dare challenge me in such a way!?” It had been many years since Vlad’s temper had been let loose in such a way, the last time had been just before he was turned. This was the first time ever that anyone had felt the full force of his rage. Emilia would be his target. “Not once have I EVER lead you to believe there would be more between us! Not ONCE did I give you ideas that I would take you as a lover! Yes, you are valuable to me! Your skills as an assassin are beyond reproach! But you are my CHILDE! And that is all you will EVER be to me!” he snarled.

Vlad had learned a lot about their race over the years and he had decided at one time that he was never going to do to one of his children that he was about to do to Emilia…but she had brought this upon herself.

“Rheksas! I know you are nearby! Present yourself before me!” he commanded, his aura flaring so heavily in the room that the candles that were lit flickered and died, leaving the room cloaked in shadows. He felt, more than saw Rheksas come up from behind him. Vlad kept his eyes on Emilia and spoke the ritual words to bind her lifeforce to that of Rheksas’s, in a sense, giving Emilia to the man as his blood-wife:

I, Vladmir Dracul, Lord of the Undead
Give of my servant, Emilia
Bound by Blood
To serve for all time
This man of Rheksas.

He shall take of her flesh
To forge this bond
Of Master to Wife
Blood to Blood

Let him forge this bond
With my curse
Forever more bound
Soul to soul.

We are Immortal.
We are Undying.
And nothing can sever
the bond they have sealed.

So I say it…so shall it be.

As Vlad spoke, his power could be felt exponentially and a thin thread of light, as red as blood began to form between Rheksas and Emilia. It was a power neither of them had felt before and had the effect of like being struck by lightning. It was controlled by Vlad alone, the power commanding Rheksas to take Emilia’s blood, to bind her to him forevermore as his Wife.

Vlad’s Mansion Sitting Room.

CharlotteCarrendar.

Vlad’s Mansion Sitting Room.

Was this to be the end of her existance  Years, thousands of years and it had all come down to this moment.  The Child deifies the Master.  Eyes burning as they stared each other down.  But they were not alone.  No, for the other in the triangle was watching, waiting in the shadows.  Rheksas.  The General of Vlad had also watched this game for many centuries, and while his own dead heart did smolder for Emilia he knew that he would never get a look in.  That was…until now.

Vlad was fast like lightning off his seat and rocketed across the room with Emilia caught in the grasp of his taloned claw.  Defiance would never ever be tolerated, but the girl was of worth, there was no mistaking this.  As much as he was angered to the point of just ending her, he also realized that he needed her for her skills and loyalty up till now had been flawless.  Struggling beneath the cold clasp of Vlad’s hand, electric blue eyes turned to that of Rheksas who was a looming shadow not far in behind.  What was he waiting for?  The words of his Master of course.  He did not want to see Emilia ended this way, but if it was the will of the Master than so be it.

Emilia’s face was riddled in the foul spittle of the Count’s rage as he berated her as a Master would of it’s child.  She had disobeyed him one last time and no more shall she ever think of herself as being anything more to him than a child….a servant.  Emilia shivered beneath the Count’s grip as the words rained down and hit her with a torrent to make her see just how she was in her longing for something that could never be.  She had remembered when the Count had taken her, when she was abandoned by her own – cast into the wilderness only to be accepted to the Count’s coven with an open hand.  Emilia would never bite that hand again.

“Rheksas! I know you are nearby! Present yourself before me!”  The Count ordered, still with his taloned hand buried deep around Emilia’s neck.

“My lord, I present myself unto you.”  This was said with a bow, as he slowly rose and continued to observe what well could be the General’s end.  His eyes locked on Emilia’s, waiting for the end.

It was then, much to the shock of both Generals, that the Count made his will known, and effectively gave the unlife of Emilia to the complete control of Rheksas.  Both were struck by the same shock of power that came from the Count’s decree.  A fine red line joined each to the other, as their bodies both shook and quaked as though struck by a lightning like force.  This blood binding was an ancient ritual, designed to ensure that the bond could never be broken, and each would continue to serve Vlad faithfully for eternity.  It also meant that Rheksas would gain the prize he had wanted for so long.  It was no secret to the Count of the General’s feelings for Emilia and now she could never say no.

image

The moment the Count released his grip from Emilia and stepped away, the General Rheksas moved to take his place.  Emilia was still pinned hard to the wall as though by the force of the ritual’s words.  Rheksas stared back at the Count, almost incredulously, before he moved his right hand up and swept back a portion of Emilia’s hair.  How he had longed for this moment.  He had touched her before, but only in care of her wellbeing.  This was to be the first touch of a husband to blood wife.  Eternal servants of Vladmir.  Emilia had no say.  She could not move even if she dared to try.  Her steel blue eyes met with the deep chocolate ones of Rheksas.  With speed he came down on her, sinking his fangs into the soft skin of her neck, and started to feed as her arms were seen reaching out around his body, fingers curling ever slightly.  Rheksas growled and took her with all the enjoyment of a man that loved the woman that was given unto him.  She tasted like no other, and he became almost intoxicated by her, her writhing only exciting him all the more.  This would surely be a show to watch and enjoy no doubt.

When Rheksas had taken his fill, he withdrew his fangs and then licked at the wound to make it close over.  But still his hands continued to wander over her.  She was now inside him, and Rheksas wanted to complete this union of blood in the most intimate way.  His lips moved from her neck up to her chin, then closed over her mouth and hungrily feasted on her tongue.  Emilia put up little resistance to his intentions.  She could no longer fight what was her new Master – her husband.  Slowing, the General moved back slightly, and then pressed his lips to Emilia’s forehead, before turning back to his Lord, the Count.

“My blood wife will no longer be a problem to you, my Lord.”  Rheksas’s lips were still wet from his new bride’s blood and he licked his lips with a half smile.  This had worked out better than he imagined.  Rheksas would keep Emila well under his watch, and between them, they would continue to serve the Count as they had done…now without issue.  Emila remained quiet, the anger had been released out of her when Rheksas fed.  She knew best not to disobey and kept close to Rheksas.

Hocus Pocus Book and Magic store – Downtown Haven.

CharlotteCarrendar.

Hocus Pocus Book and Magic store.
image

Out on the street, Charmaine parked her red coloured VW beetle just outside the Magic shop that she had owned for the last ten years.  A darling store, that had everything that the modern day witch or warlock could possibly need.  From potions, to books, crystals and charms that made wonderful gifts, or something a bit more sinister if you asked the right questions.  Dressed in a colourful tie died skirt and matching shirt, Charmaine got out of the car and greeted some of the early bird customers that were waiting just outside the doors.  Word of the new shipment of books from Europe had reached many ears via her monthly online newsletter, and so there was at least five ladies all lined up waiting patiently.  Amelia smiled to see that they had a good amount of customers well before the doors were to even open.  This would help the young witch keep her mind off the thoughts of what was going on back at Shane’s mansion.  Amelia was dressed as you would expect, in her black school girl style dress with white blouse, knee high black socks and snappy heeled black leather shoes.  Her hair was tied into two pony tails, with white ribbons, and this exposed the spider web tattoo that was on her neck.  Charmaine fumbled with her massive key chain, and then got the door open, much to the joy of the waiting ladies.  All wandered in, as Amelia raced out back to turn on all the lights, and then start up the cash register.  This sure beat working at the crime lab for the local police station.  She was always on a deadline, and the pressure to be constantly productive took its toll on her.  Here, in the shop she was dealing only with happy clients, or some that had been hitting the bowl.

image

The ladies all filed through and Charmaine advised the clients that she would have the newest shipment unpacked within the next half hour.  There was no real rush, but you could sense that a few were eager to get their hands on the latest spell and enchantment books.

There were three boxes that needed opening, one was even a special crate that had come from the middle east.  While the customers spread out around the store, Amelia helped Charmaine open each one, using the supplied inventory list to help check off and do the pricing tickets for.  As Amelia opened the first box, one book caught her eye.  It was about ancient Egypt, and the supernatural of that era.  She reached into the box and pulled the golden tome out, and after checking it off the list, she actually set this book aside.  There was something about the inscription on the cover that seemed oddly familiar, but she couldn’t place what it was.

More and more books were brought out, and Amelia worked quickly to ensure they were accounted for, marked and put out on the new display table.  The ladies were quick to go through the books, and you could hear the delighted squeals from them, as many of the new books were highly sort after.

The register was going off as Charmaine was ringing through each of the sales to the early bird customers.  Handing each customer one of the special store bags made from hemp that contained their purchases.  It was a dizzying first hour of trade, as more customers filed through the doors, keen to see the latest shipment.  New haven’s magical society was very popular and the ladies all pretty much knew each other.  It was a tight knit community and great respect was held for Charmaine, who…was considered to be a bit eccentric compared to most Haven residents.

When the rush hour had peeked, Charmaine asked if Amelia would like a cup of tea and a moment to enjoy the book she had put aside.

“You are a lifesaver, Char.”  Amelia said, taking up the book and finding a chair near the back so she could investigate the book further.  While Charmaine was out the back putting on the jug, Amelia opened the front cover of the book only to then scream at what she saw.

It was a lithograph of Carmen and…a King by the looks of it.  The same couple that had been in her vision when she had embraced Carmen at the house.  This was the last thing she expected to see.  Charmaine came running out of the back room, wondering what had made Amelia scream.  “What is it?” Charmaine asked, her eyes wide as she saw the pale look on Amelia’s face.  Amelia turned the book around so Charmaine herself could see.

“Who does that look like?”  Amelia asked, knowing full well what Charmaine was going to say.  Charmaine placed on her small spectacles and peered at the picture of the royal Egyptian couple on the thrones.  Charmaine was almost taken aback by what she saw.  “That looks like….Carmen.  Gosh, the similarities are incredible.  But what would she be doing in an Egyptian book on the supernatural?”

Amelia had not had the time to explain everything to Charmaine, but there was no time like the present.

“When…they came home last night, I went to hug Carmen.  I had this…flash…a vision of this same couple in the book, and they sacrificed a vampire to the Sun.  Charmaine…is it a coincidence that I saw this after holding Carmen, and now I am seeing this same image in this book?  Is it me?”  There was definitely more to this, than a simple vision.  Charmaine took the book and started to go through it.  The more she read, the more startling the information was.

“According to this, the woman in that picture was a Queen….a Vampire Queen.”

Amelia knew…that she needed to show Shane the book, as soon as he woke that evening.

Haven Place

The city was slowly coming awake as its citizens prepared for their day. Storefronts were hotbeds of activity as displays were set up, doors were propped open in the unseasonable warm weather. Smells from the local bakery permeated the air as customers and clerks went hither and yon.

The sleek red Corvette pulled into a parking slot outside of a clothing store and Neema peeled her svelte form from within. She slipped on a pair of sunglasses to hide her eyes as she closed the door. She looked around, taking in the people and the buildings with an air of disdain, snorting contemptuously at their humdrum existence. She took the time to stroll along the street, taking in nothing and everything at once.

She went inside a breakfast diner that had caught her eye and claimed a table in the back corner. A sleepy waitress walked up to her table with a yawn.

“Morning. What can I get ya?”

“Coffee, black. And a daily periodical if you have one.” The waitress frowned slightly and gave Neema an odd look.

“You mean…a newspaper?”

“Is that what you call them here? Interesting.” Neema mused. The waitress gave her another odd look before walking away.

She returned a few moments later with the requested items.

“That’s $2.00 for the coffee.” the waitress stated. Neema recognized that she was required to pay for the service and dug into the pocket of the pants she was wearing and fishing out three $1 bills.

“Keep the change.”

The waitress rolled her eyes, muttering something about “cheap bitches” as she walked away. Neema ignored her as she began to read the paper. She needed to get her bearings before she continued her search.

As she was reading the society section, a particular article caught her eye. The more she read, the more evil her smirk became.

“I found you, you evil, conniving little bitch.” she grinned. She slapped the paper down on the table and quickly left. The waitress went over to clean the table and noticed where the newspaper had been left open. She had to wonder why her cheap customer was interested in the auction from the night before.

image

After some judicial use of her returning powers, Neema finally located Isabella’s home. It wasn’t as locked down as Shane’s place, but it still took her some time to find a way in, doing so by breaking a basement window and crawling in. She wanted to be there when Isabella woke for the night. And then…they were going to have a woman-to-woman talk.

Neema stretched out on the couch in the living room and closed her eyes. She wanted to be well rested for the ensuing conversation. She fell asleep with a smirk on her face.

——

When Isabella woke for the night, Neema was waiting in the darkened living room. The woman had to have sensed that someone else was in her home and Neema did not wait any longer to make her presence felt. Her dark aura flared drastically, the air heavy with the weight of it.

“Hello…Isabella.” Neema smirked in the darkness just before she flipped on the lamp on the table.

Isabella’s Mansion.

CharlotteCarrendar.

Awakening from her daylight slumber, the shutters on the mansion started to open to allow the moon’s rays to filter through into the expansive bedroom suite of Isabella.  It was easy to say that Isabella had not rested at all well, what with the murder of her foot soldier Luther, and the horrible threats from Vlad’s dog – Emilia.  Clutching the key necklet that she still wore around her neck, Isabella slid out of bed and then yawned as she padded across her room and picked up a sheer black robe to cover what was a simple teddy beneath.  Jason was of course still sleeping, and for the time being she felt it best he stayed there.  For some curious reason Isabella had a weird feeling about this night.  She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she felt that maybe if she went down to where she had hung her latest purchase of the $10 million dollar painting, that it might ease her mind.

Going down the stairs, each of the lights started to come on as if by the magic of her very presense.  The rest of her coven were all sleeping in the basement, which was what she preffered.  Isabella for the most part was a solitary person even though she had kept Luther very close to her.  Without him to aid her on the outside, she was going to have to raise one of her other followers up from the ranks.  But she didn’t trust easily, so that was going to take time.  Time she could ill afford.

Heading into the main drawing room, there was a click of a lamp light that the Vampire had not activated with her mind.  It was done by another.

“Hello …Isabella.”  That voice….that…unmistakable voice.  With the edge to the accent like one from the middle east.  Isabella spun in the direction from where the voice had come from and saw to her shock and dismay, that there was a woman lazing on one of her love couches.  And not just any woman.

“Neema?”  Isabella asked, almost as a gasp was trapped in her throat.  The hell was she doing in her house…..or in the country for that matter.  Isabella had left that mad woman’s clutches so long ago that Neema should be nothing but a mummy in some far off museum.  Even though Neema was using Carmen’s body as her host, the two women were identical.

image

Growling under her breath, the Vampire mistress shook with fear and anger.  “What are you doing in my house?”  Little did she know…what Neema had come for.  Her eyes darted about the room to see if Neema had brought her own followers, but saw none.  Did Neema know about Vlad?  That was one of many questions.

Live Skype Session on August 14, 2014, 12:40 AM EDT
Players: CharlotteCarrendar as Isabella and LadyBelz as Neema
Roleplay: Aeternam Venustas

Isabella’s Mansion – Living Room

LadyBelz: “Hmm…quite a nice place you have here, Izzie.” Neema smirked, crossing her legs. “I especially like the artwork of yourself and Vladmir. Spent a bit of money on it, did you?” she arched an eyebrow, glancing at the painting in question. There was silence between the two women before Neema’s expression became downright nasty. “Did you really think you could get away with betraying me, betraying my coven? I spent thousands of years, entombed, hearing my own screams as I slowly died from the thirst, my spirit, my very essence awaiting the day I could return to body and take my revenge on those who betrayed me.” Faster then a human could blink, Neema was directly in Isabella’s face, looking her over with her dark gaze. She reached up to brush a loose strand of hair back behind Isabella’s ear, a caress that was sensual as well as a warning. “I won’t kill you…yet…for your betrayal. You have information I want and your answers will determine if you live…or die.” Neema stepped back away from Isabella and returned to the couch. “Where is my key?”

image

CharlotteCarrendar: Isabella was wearing the very key that Neema sought. She was rooted to the ground when the woman came at her with such speed and power. Isabella could hardly believe that the woman was there in the flesh. Neema was meant to be nothing more than food for the scarabs. But as she listened to what Isabella’s betrayal had done to the woman, she knew that now her own unlife was at serious risk. The painting – oh that would have angered Neema all the more as Isabella enjoyed her coupling with the great Vladimir. Isabella was one of many that the Count enjoyed over the thousand or so years that he continued to walk the earth, while the whereabouts of his beloved Neema became nothing more than a terrible mystery. Isabella shivered coolly at Neema’s touch. The woman had a way about her that could barely be described as anything more than sinister. “Everything I have…I gained myself, without help from the likes of Vlad…or you. You….are just some spirit in an unwilling host. I’m sure that is not going to last much longer. So…taunt me all you want. I am never telling you of the key.” Isabella said with an air of defiance.

image

LadyBelz: Neema watched her with dark eyes, malice glittering in their very depths. She was impressed, slightly that Isabella would argue back with her. She had wanted to judge the woman’s intent and now she had her measure.

She chuckled darkly. “That wasn’t really a request, my darling Servant.” Neema hissed the last word as an insult, reminding Isabella that she had once belonged to Neema and she wasn’t going to let her forget it. “You will tell me what I wish to know…or I will destroy your entire coven…including your little playmate I can smell that is laying in your bed right at this moment.”

Neema was a smart woman. She knew Isabella was a vain and insecure person, keeping secrets was an art form for her. But Neema had sensed her own blood, kept in the tip of the very key she sought and had seen the fine silver chain around Isabella’s neck. She was testing Isabella, judging her truthfulness and finding her severely lacking. It was only a matter of time.

“Second question while I let you think over the first some more. Vladmir is here in this town. Where is he?”

CharlotteCarrendar: Isabella hissed violently as she bared her fangs at Neema. “You shall bring no harm to what is mine. They are of my blood and serve me. I am the Mistress in this house!” she screeched as she flew into a terrible rage at the thought of her darling Jason, or her other blood dolls and vampires falling prey to the woman. Her chest rose and fell sharply, and this was when the glint of silver of the chain would be seen, as though winking out from beneath her black sheer robe. Rounding on the woman, Isabella seethed. “You think you will have Vladmir fall for you again. You might want to rethink that. Oh..he is here alright. In this very town. All you have to do is follow the stench of his blood hounds – his Generals if you want to know where he is holed up at.” Isabella was still smarting over the fact that Emilia, his right hand had murdered Luther in such a horrific fashion. Also…wanting the damned key. To Isabella, no one was truly safe from Vladmir. She may have the portrait of her intimate times with the Count, but she like many knew of how much he changed after losing Neema. And to add salt to the venomous bite of Isabella’s words, she added. “I stopped being your servant the day I sealed your tomb.” <3>

LadyBelz: Neema sat upon the couch, calm and cool and let Isabella have her little rant. So…Vladmir had his hounds with him. She vaguely remembered Emelia. The little tart thought herself to be in love with her Vladmir. But there was only one woman for him and Neema was going back to him. “Hmm. I should have known. You always did strive to be better then others, rising above your station. Do they know you were once my slave? My little…plaything to trot out to the soldiers under my command?” Neema smirked, getting to her feet once more. She stalked toward Isabella, like a panther stalking her prey, walking around her in a small circle. She stopped behind the woman, smirking at the top of her head as Neema was about a foot taller. She placed her chin on Isabella’s shoulder. “I should take you as my slave again…make you perform like a monkey before me.” she whispered darkly. “But I will not dirty myself with such filth.” Neema walked around until she stood before Isabella. She reached out and grabbed the chain, exposing the key to her eyes. With a quick hard yank, she broke the chain, and dropped the key into the palm of her hand. She gave Isabella a sideways glance. “I will be returning for you. You cannot hide from me, so don’t even try.” Neema leaned in and planted a kiss upon a stunned Isabella’s lips. “Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

With a dark laugh, Neema turned and sauntered casually from the house. She had a Master Vampire to find.

image

CharlotteCarrendar: The tug of the silver chain around her neck caused to make the chain break and it fell freely into Neema’s hand. The one piece of history that would keep Isabella safe was now in the hands of her greatest enemy. Isabella scowled and grit her teeth as Neema moved to touch her, and then planted a sickening kiss on her lips. Warning that she would return for her once she had fulfilled her mission. Obviously she wanted to seek out Vladmir. That would either go one of two ways. Vlad may not even realize it is the same Neema, perhaps think it is bait to a trap, or…he would embrace his former flame. Either way, Isabella did not plan on simply waiting on Neema’s return. As soon as Neema had walked past and out of the house, with the key now in her possession, Isabella let out a blood curdling scream of rage, that broke many a window in that room. She had to get away…and fast.

Warehouse District

-she had been so wrong, so wrong to come that close to a man she knew wasn’t human, but it had been years, and she meant years, sense she had encountered another being as such. It was like the rest of the packs, that knew about her dear daddy, didn’t want his bastard in there packs…like she was gonna be some disease that would slowly poison the pack dynamics.

She might have been full of herself if only a little bit, thinking like this was gonna be like any street punk, where she’s to fast, her blows coming at them one after another and they can’t seem to get away from them. She felt the impact on her elbow she jumped forward slightly straightening out her arm, she had half expected the blow to have continued and the man snap her arm, it wouldn’t have been uncommon in the area. His large hands circled her wrist in a tight vice, she could easily strike him with her other fist, but he had already proven he was fast enough to avoid the blow. However she could go with it still, and allow him to grab her other wrist…but that would leave his neither open for a well aimed kick to the crotch.

But she was trying to make a point that she wasn’t that stupid wasn’t she…maybe this should be a moment where she picks her battles, and this one, she wasn’t picking. Noticing how close he was she tilted her head downward just a little bit and peaked up at him through the locks of hair that fell in her face, going for the doe eyed look.

“You steal these too?  Don’t look like you could afford such pretty things.  Unless you got a sugar daddy. “ he asked her, she cracked a smile, “not every pick do you find a wallet, they some pretty engagement rings huh,” she responded softly.

Why hadn’t she pawned them, well, cause with how things are now-a-days she was suspicious enough to believe they can trace the stolen good right back to her, so why part with the pretty things…especially when they do as good a job as brass knuckles.

He quietly had the gull to sniff her again, much to her irritation but she tried to keep her cool,  “Now, I am going to let you go…but you gotta cool your jets, or we are going to get down and dirty.  I may not like to smack a girl, but I will lay you on your ass.“ he said.

That was fine by her because once he did, she was gonna turn tail and bolt, dog in toe, and hope she can out run him…if not out fight him.-

“Not every pick do you find a wallet, they some pretty engagement rings huh,”

Her voice was a lot softer which surprised Skull somewhat.  Maybe she could see that she had met her match in this young turk.  He didn’t really want to hurt the girl, just put a stop to the punch, but he used the intervention as a way to taunt her just the same.  There was something in her actions that showed she was no ordinary street rat.  Her speed, was not human, then again neither was his.  He mouthed the numbers…3…2…1, and then released his hold on her wrist to see what she would do next.  A good kick in the balls maybe?  He was ready for that as it was a good trick that girls liked to do to unsuspecting males.  But, she didn’t.  Instead, she turned fast on the ball of her heel and went for the bolt.  To run back down the alley with her rope teethered dog in tow.  Poor mutt.  Skull would never want to be lead around like that.  Skull shook his hand with a light flick of the wrist, then stuffed his hands in his pockets and slowly walked along the same path that she had ran down.

Was he stalking the girl?  To be honest, he’d gotten a good whiff of her scent, and would be able to find her no matter where she ran too.  The girl amused him in more ways than one.  He also had to wonder….was she what he thought she was?

Could it be possible, that they were both weres on the loose in the warehouse district of Haven?  Skull was a loner, always had been.  Maybe it was time to get with a pack.  Maybe, she was the way into one.

-Shade ran and her terrier though a small dog as he was, was a little champion that kept pace with his mistress at her human run, but seeing as human speed was proving useless she swooped down scooping up Hercules into her arms and pushed her body just a little further.

Faster then normal humans she zoomed past many street bums leaving them dazed looks and some even taking second glances at there drinks before pouring out the contents all over the side walk. Shade quickly came upon her ‘den’ which was a condemned building that was starting to fall a part. It was a old hotel that really any normal person shouldn’t be staying in, but she wasn’t normal wasn’t she.

She darted around the back, dashing into the shadows before anyone noticed her and found the boarded up window, her own form of locking the door. She ripped out the board nails and all and slide inside, replacing the board on the other side and picking up her handy little hammer and putting the blank back into place. She finally set Hercules down and untied the rope from around his neck. The dog sniffed the ground and ran off somewhere to do what what ever a dog does when it’s let to it’s own devices.

As for shade she stripped off the jacket and made her way to the decrypted staircase and ascended to the second floor, dropping articles of clothing along the way till she was left only in her underwear and panties. Seeing as everyone in the area knew this was her space, she had nothing to fear. Even anyone was stupid enough to come in here, they don’t ever leave again. A werewolf has to eat sometime right.

She found the one room where a bed had managed to not be carried off, this was wear she kept most of her things. She through back the thin blankets and threw herself onto the bare mattress and curled into a ball closing her eyes she tucked her arms under her head and curled her legs into her chest. She let her mind wander, thinking about the times when she had a warm meal waiting for her on the table, before the wolves showed up, before her father bet his pack rights on gambling with the big bad vamps.

Long ago, there wasn’t warehouses and decrepid buildings in Saint’s row.  There was a time that the streets were full of colour and life.  Buildings that were filled with people from all walks of life.  A bustling part of the city, and there was one hotel that many people frequented.  A grand building built by an Italian craftsman who had used this as a way to bring a little bit of Italy into the Downtown part of Haven.  The Regal Hotel, which truly lived up to its name, had the most grand foyer, with a winding staircase and at the centre of the foyer a beautiful marble fountain.  With a full restuarant, piano bar and of course spa for the more discerning guests, it was THE place to stay.  But that was so long ago, and now the building was but a shell – a shadow of its glorious past.  The paint work had long since faded and the stone work was chipped and dented.  Windows all boarded up to stop further vandalisation and squatters, though it was not uncommon for the roof to house up to a hundred pigeons at a time.  Graffetti and crude slogans were painted on what was once gleaming white walls of the outer entrance.  Car bodies now lined the street before it, when in years past, a procession of the most expensive cars you could imagine would drive on up to the valet to be parked, as the elite had come to stay at the Regal.

It was where Shade had made a home, and this was where Skull followed the girl too.  He kept well back of course, since it was a hell of a lot easier to keep track of her movements, also incase any others were following her.  He had a bit of a shine for the girl.  Why?  Cause she was not afraid to stand up for herself.  She was a street kid….like him.  Whereas Shade had been unlucky in her pick pocketing, Skull had more luck, and had about fifty dollars on him.  More than enough to buy a good meal.  Checking over the road, there was an old chinese restaurant that still did business, surprisingly.  Skull ran across the street, and went inside, placing an order of beef and noodles, fried rice, wantons and some chicken with cashew nuts.   A hearty meal for a starving girl and her dog.  Gathering up the boxes, he paid the owner, and then headed out to the back of the hotel, where he had watched the girl enter.  Setting down the meal, which was in boxes, he prized upon the boards that had been haphazardly hammered back up.  Slipping in and taking the meals, he replaced the boards.  The sounds of pigeons flapping about was the only sound, aside from the sound of the little dog barking.

Going up the old stair case, Skull chuckled to himself.  He remembered the early days when he used this same place as a squat.  No doubt this girl was fairly new to the area.

Soon he came across the girl’s room, which was fairly easy since she left a trail of clothing to mark the way.  Skull started to wonder if she was nude by what he was finding.  Entering her room, the smell of the chinese was bound to rouse her, if she was truly asleep.

“I brought a peace offering, since we got off on the wrong foot.”  Skull said, setting down the boxes of chinese on a rickety table near where she slept.

Abandoned Hotel: Warehouse District

-she could hear Hercules barking somewhere in the abandoned hotel, probably at some flock of birds roosting. She didn’t mind, the dog had the run of the place for the most part, and he had to do something fun to pass the time instead of stay tied up to her wrist all the time when ever they would go out. Lucky for her the city couldn’t care less if she was actually feeding Hercules, so long as he wasn’t running wild around the city.

She heard the stairs creek from her chosen room, for a moment she assumed it was Hercules come to find her and cuddle with his mistress. But the sound suggested something with a heavier step then the terrier mutt. Rousing slightly Shade scooted to the other side of the bed and dropped her hand to the ground and felt around till she felt the cool handle of a blade. To think she kept a machete was silly, but in this run down slum, you keep with you what you got.

She had stripped all the way up the stairs, the intruder had a perfect trail to her bedroom. She was ok with that, she rather they track her down instantly, then be hiding somewhere in the building ready to jump her around the corner. Granted she would sniff them out before they got to jumping, but she still hated the very thought of a surprise waiting for her, bullets still hurt.

The first thing she noticed was the distinct smell of the very man she had encountered earlier but it was followed by another smell that had her turning over instantly with surprise.

“I brought a peace offering, since we got off on the wrong foot.“ he said as he was setting down Chinese food on a old table. He might as well have been offering her the holy grail to her in offering.

“Oh my fucking god, your a Saint!” she practically shrieked and leaped across the room abandoning the machete on the bed and making a starved dive for the table of food.

However she stopped inches from the table and backed away…a strange look crossed her face and hard eyes flicked towards his direction as she gave his person a mistrusting look over, “what’s the catch,” she bite out.

The girl was out of the bed like a rocket.  A sudden clunk sound followed, and Skull realized that the girl dropped her weapon.  Yes, she was going to use a weapon on this….her stomach’s savior.  Course, before she dived right in head first like a pig at slop time, she hesitated.  The girl wasn’t stupid, far from it.  Nothing in this world is free they say, but when you are down on your luck, it is surprising what someone with nothing has to give.  Skull knew the girl was hungry.  Why else would she be pick pocketing and then going straight to bed without getting a feed.  It was nothing to be ashamed of.  Skull had been there.  He lived the mean streets, but there was a saying.  Honor amongest theives.  Seeing her hold up and quiz him with a raised brow, Skull simply shrugged and took a box with some chop sticks for himself.  This left her the bulk of the meal for her and her dog.

“Not every gift comes with a string attatched.  But, if you wait, its going to get cold fast.”

Skull sat down on the floor, as there was little to no furniture aside from the bed and the rickety table.  He opened up the box and then raised it to his nose, breathing in the delicious scent.  “No one does Chinese food like Tan.  I swear it.”  It was then he skillfully started to use the chopsticks, slurping in the saucy noodles, as he checked out Shade with one eye.

“I feel a tad overdressed here.  Fancy putting on some clothes?”  With a chuckle, he continued to eat.  He wasn’t going to force the girl to eat, but he wasn’t going to wait around either.  Good food was best enjoyed hot.  He looked around for the dog that had been on the rope lead and whistled.  “Rin tin tin…you’re missing out, buddy.”

If it was one thing about Skull, he had a good heart.  Only thing was it was buried deep.

Welcome to Manoir de Sang (roughly translates to “Mansion of Blood”), home of Vampire District Attorney Shane Williamson and his mate, Carmen, who runs the local branch of Internal Affairs for the state. The estate is massive, with an attached multi-car garage that houses Shane’s extensive and expensive car collection, large in-ground pool and a poolhouse that was converted into a set of apartments for Shane’s best friend and local witch, Amelia Reed. One would think that there was nothing odd about the house and grounds. But if one were to investigate, they would discover that beneath the home are massive caverns housing Shane’s vampire coven. Shane and Carmen protect all who seek sanctuary within their walls, Shane having done this for over a millenia before Carmen came into his life and shared his burden. Woe be the one who tries to harm this unusual family.

Last time…

Shane and Carmen’s estate – Kitchen/ family room

Little did the Egyptian Queen holding control of Carmen’s body understand just how close Carmen was to all the people that inhabited the Williamson Estate. It was like a real family, and acted like one in the modern era. Shane of course was the head, but Carmen was the Queen so she usually had the final word when it came to how the house was run, as well as those that served under them.

Bianca was dishing up a meal in the dog bowl for Tala, when the back sliding door opened from the pool and Amelia wandered in. Now the Witch was just as much a part of the family, as the vampires were and given special privileges since she was residing in the pool house. She had missed a lot of the excitement of late, but she had spotted Carmen return home with Shane and thought she would come over to welcome her back.

image

Amelia approached Carmen for one of her usual hugs, which she did a lot. Amelia was just the kind of girl who shared affection easily. What happened next would leave Amelia reeling. As Amelia went to put her arms around Carmen, she suddenly got a flash of another woman, a top a throne all dressed in Egyptian finery. She was seated beside a man, who for the life of Amelia seemed so familiar it was scary. But it wasn’t Shane. The woman was laughing as a woman was being tied to a stake in the middle of a chamber. The chamber had a special dome like roof, and when the Queen raised the blood chalice, the dome roof top started to inch back, causing a small ray of sunlight to beat down on the woman tied to the post. It was cooking the girl alive. Was she another vampire? The man on the throne next to her was laughing and then taking up the Queen/Carmen’s hand and kissing it. They were both enjoying watching the woman turn to ash. Amelia instantly drew back and stared at Carmen with a horrified face. She looked at Jarvis, who had just come down the stairs and saw Amelia standing there, stunned.

image

“Amelia…what is it?”

Amelia cringed and then fled the house, running across to the pool house and slamming the door. No vampires could enter the pool house, except Shane…or Bianca.

Shane re entered the room only to see Amelia running out. He glanced at Mary, who was looking at Carmen oddly too, then he looked at Carmen.

“Is everything alright?” Clearly…it was far from that.

Shane and Carmen’s Bedroom
Neema took a deep breath before she turned to open the door. Shane’s facial expression was one of worry and concern. Seeing this, Carmen’s subconcious was suffused with love.

-Take that, bitch!- she thought savagely.

Neema growled at her before she prepared to put on the performance of a lifetime.

“I’m fine. Drinking that blood must have affected me a bit. I’m feeling a bit off. I’ll be right as rain by tomorrow.” She gave him a smile full of love while inside, she wanted to throw up.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body tight to his.

“We still have some time before daybreak.” she purred, scraping her nails along the sensitive skin of his neck. She slipped her mouth over his, lips caressing in a seductive dance.

It was enough to make her physically ill…but it had to be done.

It was not normal for Shane to actually pull back from his love, especially when she was giving him a sizzling hot kiss.  Shane was often very much intune with his beloved, but there was something off in the way she was acting.  Blood did not normally affect her moods, and when she had fed on the archeologist, she seemed perfectly fine afterwards.  It was only the reactions that everyone else was having that had him concerned.  Shane let out something of a concerned growling noise, and then instead he raised his hand to her left cheek cupping it.  His sea coloured blue eyes locked on hers as though he was trying to speak to her mind.  The problem was he was not getting a response.  ~Can you hear me?~ He said to her mind.  Still nothing.  Taking her at her word, saying how she would be fine in the next eve, he did something out of character.

“Since the blood has made you ill, I suggest you get some rest.  Feel free to call up the twins if you wish….for that sort of affection.”

The blonde Vampire then drew his hand back, and headed to the door.  He gave her one last look, before leaving her to her own devices.  Shane was not stupid.  He had a suspicion that something wasn’t right, and would go back down stairs to talk to Mary, possibly Amelia since she had fled after touching Carmen.  With the door closed behind him, Carmen or Neema could rest.  But would she?

Inside Neema’s mind, Carmen was laughing her head off at Shane’s rebuff.

=What’s so damn funny?= Neema snarled at the woman.

-Shane knows on some level that you’re not me and I think that’s the funniest, fucking thing in the world!-

=I should kill you now and be done with you.=

-You can try, Little Bitch. You can certainly try, but if you do that, well…Shane will know…and there would be nowhere you can hide from his wrath.-

Neema raged because she knew Carmen was right. She could easily detected the bond between Carmen and her mate and that there was no way to break it without Shane knowing about it. She paced back and forth in the room, wondering what to do next. She couldn’t search the house with everyone still awake. Sunlight was less then 2 hours away. She would have to do her searching then.

There was a knock on the closed door and wondering who it could be, Neema moved closer.

“Who is it?” she demanded.

“It’s Ethan and Evan, Mistress. We are but your humble servants. We sensed your disquiet and were concerned.” came a male voice through the door. Neema yanked open the door and saw the twins standing there.

image

She frowned. “Why are you here?”

“We sensed your upset.” the one on the right said.

=Who are these fools?= she demanded, staring at the two of them.

-That’s for me to know and you to never find out.- Carmen snickered.

It took everything in her to not start going on a tear. Neema took a deep breath as she stared at the two men before her.

“I am fine. Just tired. Thank you for your concern.”

“Is there anything we can help you with?” the one on the left asked.

“No. I just need sleep. Thank you.” And with that, she closed the door in their faces. Evan looked at his brother, a frown marring his features. Ethan shook his head and directed his brother away from the closed door.

“Who was that?” Ethan wondered.

“I do not know, but that is not our Mistress. Something happened when they went to the museum.” Evan replied.

“We need to tell the Master.”

“Let’s go.” The two men went in search of their coven Master, worried about the state of affairs in the house.

Mary was in the lounge when the twins appeared.

“Have you seen the Master?” Ethan asked.

“Yes, he just went out to the poolhouse to speak to Amelia. Why?”

“There is something wrong with our Mistress. She is not her.” Evan stated. Mary jumped to her feet, startling them both.

“I KNEW IT!” she crowed. She grabbed them both by the arms and yanked them onto the couch. “Tell me everything.” She demanded…

Amelia’s Pool House.

image

Lighting a few candles in her lounge area, Amelia was getting ready to do some meditation to ease her troubled mind after the horrors she saw when she touched Carmen.  Something was not right in that house.  She even glanced over her shoulder to stare at the large manor, only to see a shadow that lurked outside her door.  The pool house was off limits but to only a handful of those that resided within Shane and Carmen’s house.  And that was pretty much Shane and Carmen.  Jarvis was simply not allowed, after he had shown time and again he could not seem to restrain himself around Amelia.  The poor fool could only love her from afar, until such times he could control his urges – his desire to make her like him.

Shane stood outside Amelia’s door, clearly troubled by what he had just experienced.  A coldness to his love that was never there before.  His inner voice trying to find hers and getting nothing but silence.  Something had happened at the Museum.  He was sure of it now.  In a way, he felt the only person that could possibly understand was Amelia.  Her reaction to flee the house now put weight to his concerns.  Shane tapped lightly on the door, only for it to open all by itself.  Charmed by the witch that dwelled within.

“You sensed it too?”  That was Amelia’s question as she turned away from her arrangement of candles and blew out the large striker match.

Shane entered, his hands behind his back and the door closed in behind him.  With a grim expression he nodded.  “I know my wife.  That…creature in our bedroom right now, is not her.”

Amelia set down the dead match, and crossed the floor to where Shane was standing.  She stared up at him with inquisitive eyes.  “What exactly did you do tonight, before you both came home?”  Amelia was sure that whatever they did, had something to do with this change in Carmen.  Shane took a seat on Amelia’s black leather couch and she followed over to sit beside him.  He leaned back, as he started to recant the night’s events.

“We went to the museum.  More or less for answers to the riddle of the box that we found at Vincent’s burnt out manor.  It was covered in Egyptian hieroglyphics….”    Amelia sat bolt upright on hearing what he said.  “Shane!  When I went to hug Carmen, I had a vision.  It was not of this time, it was not even in this country.  It was…in Egypt.”  Now, Shane’s brows furrowed.  “What did you see?”  He turned his body to face Amelia’s.  Her hindsight and visions were proving to be astonishing, to say the least.  Amelia took Shane’s hands in hers and then she opened up her mind, so that Shane himself could see exactly what Amelia had.   An Eygptian Goddess.  A woman of great beauty upon a throne of Gold and jewels.  She looked exactly like Carmen.  Amelia’s body trembled and her pupils moved rapidly under her closed lids.  The further that Shane pressed on to see the vision, the more it hurt the girl.  A sacrifice of….a vampire to the Sun.

Shane suddenly let go of Amelia’s hands as the vision disappeared.  The woman in the vision….could that be who had taken over Carmen’s mind….her body?

Suddenly Shane jumped to his feet.

“The box!”  He yelled out.  The creature in Carmen must be after the box.  The one that he found in Vincent’s safe.  “I need to wake up that blood doll we brought back from the museum.  That box….there is something inside that box….that everyone wants.”  Amelia had no idea about the box, but its mystery was to become the centre point to why Carmen changed.  Amelia reached for Shane’s hand.  “What about Carmen?”  She was sure that Carmen was possessed by whoever previously owned the box.  Shane rushed for the door.  He called out over his shoulder.  “I want you to figure out a way, to free her from that bitch in her head!”

As Shane left the pool house, Amelia went to call Charmaine.  She was going to need the help of her sister witches for this.

BIANCHI INVESTIGATIONS.

image

Previous history of Doctor Johnathon Bianchi :

Johnathon Bianci is a descendent of the Casterly line of Angels, from so long ago, and he holds a small place in his heart for the one that captured a demon’s heart, Selene. Even though he has only read about his ancestor in books, and scrolls, the tale fascinates him to this day. As the Victorian era is a wonderful time for literature and the rise of the industrial age, he marvels as the changes that are taking place in his world, So much to learn and as they say, knowledge is power.

Having relocated his family to the United States during the 1920’s, the famous Doctor carried out his forensics and supernatural investigations but sadly without the help of his most trusted associate Reginald Blaine, who had died of old age in the 1960’s.  Reginald had married Vivenne Westlake, the nosy reporter and had three children to their credit.  Over the years, Johnathon lost contact with the descendants of the Blaines as he continued to move his offices around the country.  Now having settled in New Haven, he has managed to slip into obscurity as many of those that knew him form the old days had long since passed…or so he thought.  Little did he know that the Marulos and the Roxburgs were right around the corner.

Stonewall Cottage and Gardens – Bianchi Investigations.
Stonewall Cottage and Gardens.

In the setting of beautiful Victorian styled gardens sat Stonewall Cottage.  A crackle gravel drive went around large oaks and willows to a double story garage, that was fashioned from hand cut stone blocks.  It is in this setting that we find the newly relocated office of one Doctor Johnathon Bianchi.  Having lived in various modern apartments in New York, he had moved his family and staff out to the more quaint area of New Hampshire which truly suited the Doctor’s tastes.  It had been a few weeks since the Doctor had relocated.  His son and daughter – Levi and Genie were yet to join him and his staff as they were tying up loose ends in the city with their jobs and apartments.  This was a new beginning for the entire Bianchi clan.  Having moved so much since the 1920s, the Doctor felt this was a good move for them all, and there was no doubt in his mind that there was always new investigations waiting for him, no matter what part of the country he lived in.

It was now ten o’clock, and the old grandfather clock in the hall was chiming merrily, as Miss Nellie was working on still unpacking some of the family heirlooms from old tea chests that had come from the mother country.  Some of the boxes had not been unpacked since arriving in the US all those years ago, mainly because the artefacts simply didn’t suit the decor of the houses that the Doctor lived in.  This cottage suited the Doctor and his collection to a T.  Unwrapping a gilded picture frame of the Bianchi family back in the heyday of the late 1800’s, she wistfully stared at the image of the family dressed in smart clothing, with the late Mrs Bianchi looking so happy.  Such a shame what had become of her.  The Doctor never remarried after she left, and then was found dead in suspicious circumstances.  Just another mystery; that the Doctor spent many years trying to solve.

In the kitchen, Cookie was tapping her foot to the latest tune by Katy Perry as she set about preparing a lovely morning tea for the good Doctor.  His favourite was buttermilk scones with homemade strawberry jam.  The kitchen had all the modern day appliances one would expect from such a house, and Cookie had taken to them with relish.  They made cooking all the better and a lot less work for the family Cook, who had been in the service of the Doctor since he was in his twenties.  Placing the silver tea pot on the tray, she arranged the scones on a fine porcelain plate, ready to take into the Doctor’s office.

Out on the road that ran past the Cottage, a lone figure stood.  Wearing jeans and a plaid shirt with leather jacket, he had a backpack on his back and was checking the address from his cell phone.  Glancing up at the plaque that said “Bianchi Investigations”, the young man thought to himself.  “Well, this is it.”  He walked on through the gates and headed down the gravel drive to the Cottage where he was hoping that all his questions could be answered.

image

avatarLethalSin

The sounds of a car rolling down the gravel drive slowly became more present and pressing as a 1970 Dodge charger black in color began to pull down the drive way. The driver would slow before pulling up along side the male walking down the gravel drive as the tinted window rolled down to reveal a women’s face. “Hop in…” That was all that she said before she put the charger in park to wait for the male to either get in or continue walking. The women driving the car seemed to be about twenty five years in age if not a little bit younger. She wore a simple black blouse and tight form fitting yoga pants making it seem as if she had just come from a gym or something of that sort. Her name was Genie Bianchi the daughter of Johnathon Bianchi. She had just come from New York and was eager to see her father. Genie was a martial artist at heart and had been partaking in many competitions for such a thing. The thing was she seemed sweet and kind but she had a fighter’s heart and was wiling to fight for those she cared for. As she waited she would turn the radio on and allow her music to play which happened to be her favorite song. What was her favorite song might you ask? It happened to be a song by Linkin Park that was named One Step closer. As the music played she would bob her head along to the beat while drumming her fingers over the leather steering wheel.

Reginald turned his head slightly as he heard the unmistakable roar of the dodge as it entered the grounds.  A girl with a shock of black hair offered him a ride inside, but Reginald pointed to the main house, and said politely; “I can see the main house just there.  Thanks anyways.”  As the girl drove off to park her car, Reginald continued to walk, stuffing his cellphone into his jacket pocket.  Inside his mind, he could hardly believe he was doing this.  Having travelled all the way from Chicago based on the writings in a journal he discovered in his great grandfather’s possessions in an old attic, Reginald was following a dream.  Would the people within this house know of his ancestor?  The great Detective of Scotland yard.  The writings in the journal were like reading a novel, a personal account of his life, and that of his wife, Vivienne Westlake.  What struck him most however, was the Detective’s friendship with the Doctor.  Doctor Johnathon Bianchi.  So much of what was written was almost hard to believe and he was sure that most of the writings never were published, as they were fanciful at best.  Supernatural creatures haunting the streets of London town?  He had the tattered journal safe within his backpack.  Reginald had brought it this far, and he hoped that the ancestors of Doctor Bianchi could shed some light on the mysteries within its pages.

On reaching the front door, he turned his head slightly to see the young girl park her car.  Dressed casually, she was a pretty thing, he had to admit.  Reginald had an eye for beautiful women, and this girl was intriguing.  Standing on the front porch, Reginald raised his fist and knocked twice, before stepping back and waiting for the door to be answered.

When the door opened however, Reginald was taken aback by the sight of the maid.  She looked like she had stepped out of the show; Upstairs Downstairs, and was holding an old feather duster in her hand.  When she saw him however, the feather duster slipped from her fingers and she clutched her chest.  “Saints be alive….”  To Miss Nellie it was like seeing a ghost, only…he was very real.  Her jaw moved almost of its own accord, as she struggled to find composure.  The man looked exactly like the late Reginald Blaine.  It had been years since his passing, and yet, here stood his likeness.  Reginald was stunned by the young woman’s reaction and took a step forward.  “Are you alright, Miss?”  Spoken with a distinct american accent, unlike that of his ancestor.  Fanning herself, the maid, then nodded rapidly, and asked.  “Can…can I help you?”  It was an obvious question of course.  Reginald then replied.  “I’m actually looking for…well, a relation of the famous Doctor Bianchi?  I have this journal…”  But before he could finish, a deep voice called out from his office.

“Send him in, Nellie.”

Johnathon knew this day would come.  He had waited many years.

Genie would shrug before driving off to park her 1970 dodge charger off to the side and out of the way. Slowly she would step out of the car before walking to the door and stopping beside the male. As she waited for the door to be answered she would cast a wary glance at him as if he seemed familiar but she shrugged it off. It was then the door opened to Nellie the maid before Genie slipped passed her and called out. “Father….I’m home..” It was clear Genie had much to tell her father from the way her voice rang out joyous and bubbly. Then with a frown she would stand in the hall before hearing her father call out from his office. Silently she trotted down the halls following his voice before stopping outside the door and knocking politely. “Father? May I come in?”

It seemed that there was not just one at the door, but two.  Genie could be heard singing out for her father, after walking past Reginald – who was still waiting to be shown through.  Miss Nellie bobbed a small curtsey as she was still very much set in her ways of time past.  Reginald had already sort of met the girl in the driveway, and it was clear she was related to the Doctor.  Holding onto his back pack strap, Reginald heard the deep toned voice call for him to be shown in.  Miss Nellie stepped back and gestured with her hand for Reginald to enter.

“Thank you so much.”  Reginald offered as he went to walk past the maid.  Miss Nellie asked of him; “Shall I take your bag, Sir?”  As it was normal for her to take a guest’s hat, bag and coat.  Reginald was not used to this kind of attention and said that he would rather hang on to it.  Giving a light nod of her head, Miss Nellie showed Reginald through to the office door, which had the Doctor’s name written on a small plaque on the door.  She reached for the door handle and then opened it, for both Genie and Reginald.

Sitting inside at an old wooden desk, that was covered in papers, photographs and odd old cups of tea, was none other than the Doctor.  Johnathon Bianchi.  The same Doctor who had treated women for hysteria back in the late 1800’s, the same Doctor who had mounted and solved many investigations in the dark back alleys and haunted houses of London and the surrounding shires and towns.  The office walls were laden with Doctrates, framed photographs that dated back to the early 1800’s and newspaper clippings of some of the more shocking cases that were ever to be printed.  Cookie came in through the side door that was attatched to the Office from the southern end of the house.  She spotted Reginald and immediately her jaw fell open.  This was going to be awkward.  Johnathon could see Cookie’s distress, and cleared a space on his desk for her to put down the tray.

“More cups for tea, Cookie.  We have guests.”  The Doctor offered, as he then shot a look at Genie and winked.  “How was the city, Genie?”  He could see by how she was dressed that she had only just come back.  Cookie fussed and placed down the tray, before taking up all the dirty cups that the Doctor had scattered all over his office.  Every time she looked at Reginald, it was like…she was seeing a Ghost.  Reginald was too busy taking in everything.  From the decor of the room, to that of the Doctor, who was wearing clothes that were well over a century or more old.  Johnathon gestured for Genie and Reginald to take a seat each, while Miss Nellie closed the door to the office.  No doubt she would be eavesdropping.  This was simply something to incredulous to miss.

Reginald sat himself down in one of the antique velvet covered chairs, but not before removing the back pack from his back and setting it down on the floor near his leg.  The journal from his great grandfather was inside.  At first Reginald appeared lost for words.  It was like he had stepped back in time almost, until his eyes looked up to the top of the display case for skulls and other forensic samples only to see a photograph.  His eyes widened as he stared at the photograph for a while.  Johnathon could see where the young man was looking, and knew this was when the penny was about to drop.

“Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Doctor Johnathon Bianchi.  And yes….that man in the photograph…..is your great grandfather.  Detective Reginald Blaine.  Scotland Yard.”

image

Reginald was shocked, to say the least.  This was too incredulous to be true.  “My great grandfather has been dead for over fifty years.  You can’t be the same man he knew.  How is it even possible?”  Reginald asked.  He looked at Genie as if she might know the answers.  Cookie coughed and then left the room.  She too knew the original Detective and always enjoyed the times he visited the Doctor.  They were the best of friends.

The Doctor placed his palms together and drummed his fingers, as he stared the young man, who was a dead ringer for Reg.

“A mystery….to be certain, Reginald.  I take it, you have many other questions for me.  Don’t worry, we have all morning.”

Downtown Haven
Downtown Haven is the main part of the city where people go about their day to day lives.
Whether it’s work or play, you can find just about anything in this area.
At the west end, you can find the warehouse district. To the east, you have the low income housing district.
To the north and south are the clubs, businesses and shopping areas.
Please state the location of your character at the beginning of your post.

Warehouse District

-she was alone, had been for awhile. Shade sat curled on the ground beside a dumpster. Watching the street bums, gang of delinquents, and foolish passer byers that thought it be ok to walk through the warehouse district of Haven at night. Not many glanced in her direction, they were wise not to. For those who knew Sadie “Shade” McBride, knew that you didn’t mess with her, you didn’t go near her, and at all costs don’t make eye contact with her. Short curly brown hair and amber colored eyes, she was a girl that was just to thin, just to frail looking. Some assumed she was on some massive kinds of drugs, but never had she touched the stuff in her life. She was just that way you know, her lot in life to be the scrawny bastard of a lousy Alpha who couldn’t keep his pack together much less alive for very long. A lone wolf pushed into the solitary life and not by choice but by stupid decisions and fate.

Beside her, a black and white terrier mutt laid on the ground quiet at the moment and tethered to his masters wrist by means of a ragged rope to a thoughtfully stolen dog collar. Her sweet dog and only ‘pack mate’ and she would tear out the throat of anyone that tried to take the beast from her, the leash was only recently a knew addition, because humans had an issue with roaming loyal pets.

Glancing up her eye narrowed in on one man who was walking with some determination glancing down at his watch, his very nice watch, he seemed like he was in a hurry. She wasn’t the only one watching him, she easily spotted some of the wanna-be-gansters eying the man. No one made a move and they were smart to.

Shade stood up rolling her neck she crossed the road her dog at her heels she checked the road once, twice, then crossed making a beeline for the man. Timing it perfectly the man walked right into her, her hands slipped through his coat like lightning just as she was falling backwards slipping the wallet she had just stolen into the sleeve of her coat. She had even cried out in shock for added effect.

“What they hell man!” she cried and leaned forward rubbing her ass where she had landed. Her dog began a repartition of rapid barking at the man.

The man grumbled apologies and offered to help her up, weary of the dog as he was. she swatted his hand to the side and stood on her own, “fuck off, watch where your walking next time!” she snapped at him and slide her hands into her pocket, letting the wallet slide into her coat pocket.

Once down the darkened ally and she was sure she was far enough to where his human eyes couldn’t see her, she smiled, “come on.” she said to her dog and together they jogged down the maze of alleyways…making sure they wouldn’t be so easily caught if the man ever found out.

Old cars that no longer were even registered lined the roads, along with trash cans that were overflowing.  Kids ran out and played on the streets and the singing of some Momma who was hanging out her laundry created a feeling that though this was the rough end of town, that life went on.  A daily struggle for many, but to others this was all they knew.  Pimps, pick pockets and prostitutes.  The three P’s.  Gangs were rife and murders..well, they were so regular now that no one seemed to care.  The wail of a siren, the blaring of a fire truck….the echo of another ambulance.  The air was rich with smog and exhaust fumes, mixed in with some home cooking.  It was the Down Town.  Way…down town.

Walking along and kicking a can, we have Skull, a regular kid of these parts.  Skin tight jeans, sneakers, ripped t and hoody.  He didn’t wear colours, cause he was part of no gang.  He was a loner.  Liked his own company, but was ready with a knife if he had to fight for his life.  Knives against guns are often a death in the making, but Skull had speed, and agility.  Not to mention, he was a cool dude.  Never phased and death didn’t scare him.

Minding his own, he happened to see a well to do get into a jam with a slight of a girl and her rope tied mutt.  Watching with a raised brow, he saw the trick.  Watched her hand move slyly into the guy’s coat.  Oldest trick in the book.  Bemused at her antics, and her language to the hapless guy who just got ripped of his wallet, Skull decided to follow the young miss.  He was bored, and she could prove to be the day’s entertainment.

Jogging across the street he followed her down the dark maze of alleys which he knew like the back of his hand.   He whistled as he walked along.  Then leapt up onto an old car body and did a MJ move, complete with crotch grab.  If that didn’t get her attention….nothing would

“Hey!”

-Shade had sensed someone following her, but she didn’t pay much attention to the tail. If they were smart they would eventually get the hint, or someone good Samaritan would tell them, they were in for a world of hurt if they didn’t stop right now. Seems like that wasn’t going to happen.

Whatever she didn’t care, she stopped walking and turned to lean on a brick wall, wearing torn up and dirty jeans, the tares ran all the way up to her hip line to show the pretty pink panties peaking beneath. Her shirt was what was left of a Billy Idol T she scooped off someone’s cloths line…it looked nice, so she took it. Course now all you could see was the name scribbled across the top and some hair, she at some point got into a knife fight with a idiot and lost most of the shirt to blood and tares. As for her coat, it was fairly new, she took it from a gang bitch, tore off the gang members lettering afterward, though she thought that sort of gang marking died off years ago, whatever it worked for her needs.

She pulled out the wallet and flipped it open, strumming through the wallet she discovered that the man didn’t have any cash on him, all he had was cards.

“Fuck!” she snapped and kicked the nearest trash pile, disturbing a few rats that scurried across the ground, her dog had to make his displeasure known to, as he started a serious of barking at them.

Just at that moment though, she heard a loud thump of something hitting metal and the loud shout of “Hey!”

Turning her amber gaze on the youth that so foolishly called on her, she had a feeling it had been him that had been tailing her. Well he had her attention now, and she wasn’t to happy to see him grabbing his crotch at her either.

“Can I help you,” she shouted back, the dog really started barking then.

Glancing down she snapped her finger at her dog, “Hercules…shut it,” she snapped, the dog whined and laid down, going quiet.

“You must not be to bright if you decided to follow me,” she said, a feral grin spreading across her face.-

Skull found the girl’s demeanor to be amusing.  Telling him that he wasn’t too bright to be following her.  That was a laugh.  Skull leapt down off the car and landed with a grace that was unmistakable.  He reached up and rubbed under his chin thoughtfully, before saying;

“Well expecting there to be cash in a wallet from a guy like that, down in the hood?  Err…heh, I ain’t the one that is stupid.”

He sauntered over, getting closer to her and asked with a bemused expression;  “It was full of cards, right?”  Skull knew that it would be, and winked at the sassy street girl just to add insult to injury.  “Who in their right mind carries wads of cash, unless they just got a big win at the races?  And we are far far from that.”

Skull looked down at the dog on the rope lead and bared his fangs at him.  Showing he was much more of an animal than the mutt.  “Grrrr…ruff ruff!”  He barked, before flicking back his hoodie and revealing a shock of black hair.  To get a better look at him, you could see that he had the most unusual eyes and the angle of his face.  It wasn’t round, or curved.  More pointed and angular.  He checked out the girl again, and even leaned in to sniff her.

“Ever heard of having a bath?”

Oh what a shocker.

–“Well expecting there to be cash in a wallet from a guy like that, down in the hood?  Err…heh, I ain’t the one that is stupid.” he said back to her after he jumped down from the top of the car.

Shade pushed off the wall and stood up with a legs braced slightly a part, narrowing her gaze as he continued talking to her.  “It was full of cards, right?“ he said to her, and had the balls to wink at her like it was some kind of inside joke. “Who in their right mind carries wads of cash, unless they just got a big win at the races?  And we are far far from that.”

“So what if it was just cards, some people are stupid, I’d have been more stupid if I hadn’t taken the chance…and he just happen to be loaded,” she snorted. He growled at her dog and her amber gaze zeroed in on the fangs in his mouth, her nose twitched, instinct telling her not all was as it appeared.

He threw back the hood of his hoodie revealing black hair a face that was clearly not as young as she had assumed he would be, as most in the area were wanna-be punks. No he was older though she couldn’t pinpoint the exact age. He also had unnsual eyes and as he drew closer to her he started sniffing.

She made a face, one between shock and a sneer, “Ever heard of having a bath?“ he said.

Shade reared back her fist and swung at his face, her intention was to leave a permanent print on his face with her pretty rings, stolen, but pretty, “fuck off!!“-

Skull was street wise, savvy and great to have in a fight.  Sure, he was giving this girl a hard time, and why not?  She looked like she could take it.  Course, he had to go and make the disrespectful comment about whether she knew what a bath was or using one.  The girl reacted angrily and swiftly, but Skull was quick.  He could see that she was going for a punch, the way she drew her arm back.  Oh this was going to hurt…..one of them.  With lightning reflexes that came from his own race, his left hand shot out and gripped her right wrist, while his right hand came up from underneath and aimed to smack hard against her elbow.  While being in the grip of his left hand, this would incapacitate her well and truly.  Also bring them real close.  Snickering as he had her right where he wanted her, he turned his left hand to check her pretty rings, which would have made quite the marking on his face.

“You steal these too?  Don’t look like you could afford such pretty things.  Unless you got a sugar daddy.”

Skull sniffed her again now they were in close proximity.  His head cocked to the right slightly and he whispered with a dark tone;  “Now, I am going to let you go…but you gotta cool your jets, or we are going to get down and dirty.  I may not like to smack a girl, but I will lay you on your ass.”

Pool area, Marulo Estate.

CharlotteCarrendar.

The day was a truly warm one, as the summer sun beat down on the pool area that was at the back of the newly built Marulo estate.  Doing laps for the past hour, Virgo was freestyling back and forth, much like an Olympic swimmer, with precision as he went through the tumble turns and back again.  The water glistened as it lapped the sides of the pool where Gerald stood faithfully – towel at the ready.  Finally Virgo made the last sweeping turn and came back to touch the other end, pleased to having had a good work out.  He flipped back his hair, as he swam to the side of the pool and clamboured out.  Dripping onto the granite tiled flooring, Gerald was at the ready and handed Virgo his towel.  Wearing only small speedos, he was typical of his race – packing those speedos like no one’s business.

“Thanks Gerald.  Elvira up yet?”  He quizzed, wondering if his wife was enjoying her lie in.  With the kids now grown they had more time for each other, but Virgo still had his morning rituals and in summer, the day started with a swim.

“No Sir, I believe Sally is checking in on her now.”  Gerald had been with the family as long as could be remembered.  A proud and valued member of the Pack, he served his Master and Lord faithfully and flawlessly all this time.  Virgo gave Gerald a wolfish grin, as he contemplated going up to their master suite and shaking down the excess water on her while she slept.  Gerald knew that wicked glimmer and chuckled.  “I know that look Sir.  Sally would have your hide tanned, regardless of her place.”

image

Virgo let out a roar of laughter and slapped Gerald’s back.  “A man can dream…can’t he?”

Together the two walked towards the patio entrance, where another staffer was ready with yet another towel.  Virgo took it with a wink and wrapped it around himself.  He had a tight schedule that day and already was famished for breakfast.  No doubt Cookie would need to have her wits about her.

image

“I could eat a horse.”  Virgo stated, rubbing the towel on his head.

“Which one, Sir?” Gerald asked with a bemused expression.

“Yours if you’re not careful.”

Again the two men laughed, but Virgo then looked serious.  He really was hungry.

Family Dining Room
image

As Virgo was going for his morning swim, his long-time wife and mate, Elvira was in fact sitting at the dining room table, enjoying a cup of coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. Some would be shocked by this as Elvira was a born and bred English woman who lived and died by a great cup of tea. But after a business trip to the Americas with her husband, she had discovered the joy that is Starbucks and had become a convert.

She was also a woman who had become enamored of the current styles of American dress. Her old Victorian-style dresses made way for more modern lines, such as knee-length figure-hugging skirts and tight tops that exposed a nice amount of cleavage. Even her husband loved those types of clothes on her and he did everything possible to try and get her out of them, much to her everlasting amusement.

image

Sally wandered in from the kitchen, a coffee pot cradled carefully in her hands. She leaned in to refill Elvira’s cup as the latter was reading the newspaper. Elvira glanced up briefly with a smile.

“Thank you, Sally.”

“Mhm.” Sally stated, sounding distracted. Elvira looked at her long-time servant over the top of the paper, one eyebrow arched in question.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Sally muttered.

“Sally, how long have you been my servant?”

“Hmm…a couple of centuries now.”

“I can tell when something is bothering you. Spill.” Elvira pointed to a chair, indicating Sally should sit.

“I miss the girls.” Sally stated after a lengthy silence.

“Athena and Dominique?”

“Yes.”

“I miss them, too.” Elvira sighed.

“Have you heard from them?”

“Athena is with her troupe in Russia and Dominique is in Japan. From what she told me when she called the other night, her latest single has gone Platinum.”

“Did you ever imagine she would be so popular with her music?”

“She was a singer in a burlesque club, for Hell’s sake!” Elvira chuckled. “I never thought her voice would get her this far.”

“Neither did I. And Athena…she’s amazing.” Sally sighed.

“All my girls are amazing. It’s hard to play favorites with them.”

“And you shouldn’t have to.” Sally smiled, getting to her feet. There was the sound of male voices coming nearer and both women turned toward the open doors to see Gerald and Virgo talking animatedly between them. Elvira felt her mouth go dry as she looked over her husband’s well-toned physique. The centuries had been VERY kind to her mate. There wasn’t an anounce of fat on him and he looked very enticing in his choice of swimwear. Even her succubus sat up and took notice. The man never failed to make her melt like butter, no matter what he did or wore.

Sally must have noticed the look on Elvira’s face for she swiftly jabbed her mistress in the shoulder with her elbow. Elvira whipped her head around to glare at her, wondering why she did that.

“You’ve got a bit of drool on your chin.” Sally chuckled before she headed back into the kitchen. Embarassed, Elvira grabbed a napkin to wipe her face before she dived behind the newspaper. It would only server her right if her husband had heard Sally’s remarks.

Dining Room – Marulo Estate

CharlotteCarrendar.

The sound of voices coming from the dining room, along with the subtle smells of a good morning breakfast had Virgo turn sharply towards the Dining room.  He could see Sally and his adored wife Elvira deep in conversation.  Course, he was still fresh out of the pool, with just a towel around his waist and one in his hand that he used to dry his hair.  Virgo was actually surprised that his beautiful wife was out of bed.  Tossing the wet towel over his shoulder to one of the staffers, he sauntered in, bare chested and still glistening in places.

“Good morning, Ladies.”

Virgo made a bee line for the delicious spread, while Cookie came in with a tray covered plate of bacon.  She gasped as she saw the near naked Count hovering over the danishes.  “Sir!”  Cookie said abrubtly, the tray in her hand shaking.  Virgo looked up, slightly amused and then took the tray from her trembling hands.  Had the woman not seen a man fresh out of the pool before.  “I’ll take that off your hands, Cookie.” Gerald couldn’t hide his smile if he tried as the poor woman huffed and then didn’t know where to look.  “Oh my!”  Cookie blustered, while Gerald coughed loud enough with his curled fist near covering his mouth.  Virgo glanced over at him and raised a brow.  “Shouldn’t you get dressed, Sir?’  Gerald asked, as a flushed faced Cookie went back to the kitchen empty handed.  Virgo looked down at his wet towel around his waist, and then tore it off, leaving only the speedos on.  He tossed the second towel to the nearest staffer and then looked back at Gerald and asked;  “Better?”

Gerald rolled his eyes, as Virgo took a piece of bacon, and took a bite.  He then wandered over to his wife, who was sitting so daintly in her chair at the table.  Grinning at Sally, he then rubbed his bulge against the back of the chair that Elvira was sitting in, and chortled.  “Elvira loves it.”  He bent down and nipped at her neck, his breath ripe with the scent of cooked bacon.  Knowing that this was likely to cause a scandal he then grabbed the nearest paper, and went upstairs to get dressed for the day, leaving the rest of those in the room to discuss the morning’s news.  From the stairs Virgo sung out;

“Love you, hunny!”

All these years, and Virgo was still as cheeky as when they first met.

image

Coming back down a good ten minutes later, Virgo was dressed in a day suit in black, with matching shoes and a white shirt, with black tie.  He had a business meeting that morning, and having showered and looking presentable, he was ready to join Elvira for breakfast.  Taking a seat beside her, he reached for the coffee pot and poured himself a cup.  Blowing on the steaming brew, he asked his beloved;

“Heard from the kids?”

Dining Room

Cookie came in with the tray of bacon she’d been dishing up when she stopped dead in her tracks upon seeing Virgo. The woman, after centuries of being their cook had never gotten used to Virgo’s overt displays of sexuality and today was no exception. The woman was simply scandalized and didn’t know where to turn her gaze.

Virgo, as was his usual, took no notice, even going so far as to take off the towel around his waist and tossing it to Gerald. Elvira nearly swallowed her tongue.

“That is definitely NOT better!” she sent to him through their thoughts.

With a grin, he sauntered up behind her, rubbing his lower body against her back and she had to clamp down tight on the urge to turn in her seat and take him into her mouth then and there. Succubus by nature, it was a struggle not to try and shock the watching staff, although they had done that on more then one occasion over the years.

“Tease!” She snarled as he turned and headed to their room to dress for the day.

He laughed as he left the room, calling out to her as he did. “Love you, hunny!”

“Love you, too.” she giggled.

“He will never change.” Gerald chuckled, shaking his head as bent to kiss Sally on the cheek.

“Do you really expect him to?” Elvira wondered.

“Our lives would be boring if he did.”

“Exactly.”

Virgo came back down ten minutes later, dressed immaculately in a three-piece business suit. He had taken to the current men’s fashions like a child in a candy store and had a whole closet in their room with just these types of suits.

He sat beside her, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He made it to his own specifications before looking at his wife beside him.

“Heard from the kids?”

“Mhm. Dominique called me last night. She’s in Japan at the moment. She tells me the tour is doing really well but she’s feeling a bit homesick. According to her schedule, she has one more date in Italy then she’ll be coming home for the US leg of her tour. After I ended the call with her, I got a text message from Athena. She’s really enjoying Russia.” She sighed, thinking about her two girls. She missed them when they weren’t home with her. Elvira was definitely feeling Empty Nest Syndrome. With Damion and Sam living in their own home (even if it was on the estate) and Artemis working daily at the factory…She sighed again. She needed to find something to do before she went stir-crazy.

As always, Virgo was delighted to get news about the children. Long time grown, they had made names for themselves, in entertainment and business which made Virgo a very proud man.  The only down side to this, was that they were so far from home.  The Alpha knew that his wife pined for the children, as they were the true light in her life.  While having two of them close, such as Damion and Artemis; they had some social interaction.  Virgo nodded and showed a wide smile on hearing how well the girls were doing.  The years had made the world smaller, what with planes and the newest social technology which Virgo was still trying to embrace.  It was one thing to look the part in a modern world, but a whole nother thing to understand the changes.  He had long ago accepted his son’s choice to be with a man, and this had led to many happy years for the family.  Why, his son in law as he liked to call him, Sam Malone had designed the wonderful mansion that they called home.  A credit to his talent and skill.

“Dominique is heading back here?  Wonderful.  Soon as she touches down, we have to have her come stay.  Gerald, make sure her old room is ready for her.  I want everything just perfect.”

As Dominique was the next head of the family, Virgo always wanted her to know where her true home was. He reached under the table and ran his hand across his wife’s thigh, smirking as he did so, and a light throaty growl could be heard.  He was always touchy feely when it came to Elvira.  He knew he teased her terribly when he had come in from the pool, but that was something he just couldn’t help.  He was just like that around her.  Hell, if he could, he would have gone starkers.

Only a text message from Athena?  Virgo took out his cell and checked.  Sadly, the girl only seemed to text her mother.  He stabbed at the device a few times, then grunted.  “Can never understand these things.”  Virgo tossed the cell on the table with a dull thud, before looking back at his wife.  He could tell she was unsettled.  He thought for a moment.

“Did you want to come to the office with me today?  Get out of the house?  I could suggest we go and…make more babies if that would give you something to do.”

Did he really just suggest that?  Gerald coughed.  “Remember how sick Elvira got last time she had the twins?”

Virgo suddenly remembered and then frowned.  He had totally forgotten about that.  He then thought some more.  Beaming, he asked her;  “How about we get involved with the local horse club?  I love seeing you ride…”  Again with the innuendo.

Sam and Damion’s Residence – Marulo Estate.

image

Sam Malone was now heralded as a man of vision when it came to the types of buildings and houses that he created with his astute mind for detail and passion for the enviroment.  Having created the sprawling Marulo house, he went on to make one for his lover and mate Damion, but one that would fit in perfectly with the charm and serenity of the New Hampshire area.  Set within the same grounds as Damion’s parents abode, this charming lake side condo had everything a man could ever dream of.  With a spacious floor plan, mutiple levels and walls of glass that allowed the outside to come in, it was a jewel in the estate.  No expense was spared in it’s creation, and Sam made sure to put his own special touch on the design, but allowed Damion free reign on the interior design and furnishings.  Needless to say the result was simply magnificent.

The modern day Sam Malone, had adjusted to the changes that time brought since the heady days of the roaring twenties, when he first met his lover, Damion Marulo.  Their love and courtship was sorely tested by the fact that his father; Virgo had a great deal of trouble accepting the pairing.  He had hoped that Damion would be the next great Alpha to lead the family pack.  That role would fall instead to his sister, Dominique; who was travelling the world in the modern day.  A singer with extroidnary talent, she also had the strong will and determination to one day lead the clan to greatness as her father Virgo had done.

This day had Sam in the kitchen, going over some emails on his notepad while he waited for his coffee to brew.  Dressed impeccably in a smart business suit, he had to go into town to visit with a new client, who had come all the way from upstate New York to put forward ideas for a new housing developement.  The subtle scent of the coffee brewing would be sure to wake his lover Damion from his slumber.

Finishing his emails, he decided to wander down the hall and see if Damion was awake.  He opened the door to their master suite and stepped in with a warm smile.

“Dominique is heading back here? Wonderful. Soon as she touches down, we have to have her come stay. Gerald, make sure her old room is ready for her. I want everything just perfect.”

Elvira felt her husband’s hand caressing her thigh, a light teasing growl rumbling past his lips as he did so. She smirked slightly, feeling her skin heat up a few degrees beneath his hand.

“Don’t start something you can’t finish, darling.” she grinned.

As she had mentioned Athena’s text, he yanked out his phone, pressing random buttons. Annoyed, he tossed it across the table, much to Elvira’s amusement. She patted his arm. “Even the best of us cannot understand technology, my love.” she smiled.

“Did you want to come to the office with me today? Get out of the house? I could suggest we go and…make more babies if that would give you something to do.”

“Remember how sick Elvira got last time she had the twins?” Gerald reminded him. Elvira had to agree. Being sick at the levels she had been when pregnant both times was not something she enjoyed. She loved her children, she hated being sick. And she didn’t think she was ready to breed again. The timing was all wrong.

“Virgo, I know how much you’d like a large family, but I’m not ready just yet.” she told him, hoping he wouldn’t be too disappointed.

“How about we get involved with the local horse club? I love seeing you ride…”

She chuckled darkly and squeezed in closer to him, running her fingers slowly along his inner thigh.

“You just love seeing me in tight pants.” she whispered into his ear, her warm breath sending shivers down his spine.

Sally rolled her eyes at the two of them. After centuries and 4 children together, they were still a couple very much in love.

She shared a look with Gerald, the two of them quietly leaving the Marulos to their breakfast.

Sam and Damion’s Bedroom

Sam had been awake for much longer then Damion. Damion had worked late at the plant the night before, crawling into bed just after 2 am that morning. He was still asleep when Sam went to check on him.

Laying in bed, Damion was oblivious to his mate’s presence, still deeply asleep. The sunlight from the wide windows blanketed his skin in its bright hues, turning Damion’s skin nearly bronze. He wore no shirt, choosing to sleep in a pair of loose sleeping pants that rode low on his hips. He had an arm thrown over his eyes, instinctively blocking out the light of the new day as his body caught up on the sleep he had been missing.

His father had delegated more and more work to his only son, and Damion, in typical Marulo fashion, had brought the company from the bottom to the top, making it one the most successful companies in the world. But it was taking its toll on him and it was beginning to show. But Damion hated to disappoint his father and was glad that his sister had decided to help him.

As he swam up from sleep, feeling a bit warm beneath the rays of the morning sun, a muffled sound caught his attention, that of a door opening.

“Early bird gets the coffee.” a familiar voice murmured near his ear. With a sleepy smile, he came to full wakefulness, removing his arm from his eyes to stare groggily at his husband/mate. He wrapped an arm around Sam’s neck and pulled him in for a deep and loving kiss before drawing back with a small smile.

“Mmm. Good morning.” Damion murmured, his eyes sliding closed as his body wanted to go back to sleep. “What time is it?” he wondered, running his fingers through his hair.

Marulo Estate
Dining Room.

Out of the corner of Virgo’s eye he could see Gerald and Sally take their leave, so that the couple could speak more freely without being judged.  Virgo as always loved to be touching his wife, and his wandering hand had moved further up her thigh till it slipped to the space within them.  Teasing lightly with his fingers, he held a bemused expression when Elvira stated that he loved to see her in tight pants.  “Pants or not, it doesn’t matter to me.  Watching you ride always has given me a thrill.  Why, is that not how I first met you?  Riding like a wild woman across that open park?”  His voice had a lusty edge – a deep sounding tone that was unmistakable, especially to Elvira.  But as much as he wanted to tease her about the happy memories of another era, he knew that something was troubling her and had been for some time.  He himself was starting to feel like he was behind the times with his own company.  Damion in his mind was doing such a fine job as the new CEO, that Virgo was wondering if he too should start looking at a new venture to keep him busy.  With those dark hues, he stared into his wife’s eyes.

“I think we both need to explore our options on how to spend our days.  Gerald was right about you and being pregnant, as much as I enjoy making our young.  Heh.”

Virgo had not aged in centuries, but time was starting to make things difficult.  Not having the children on hand also meant that he was longing for something more.  Easing back in his chair, though his hand still firmly placed between her thighs, Virgo mused.

“Do you think I have pushed Damion a bit too far with the business?  I mean, its such a success, but I wonder if maybe its time I let go and allow the children to shine.”  Virgo obviously was feeling a little bit more like Elvira than he had come to realize.

A buzzing came from Virgo’s cell phone as it was just out of reach.  The caller name was….”Roxburg.”

Sam and Damion’s Bedroom.

Damion kissed his husband with such love and passion, that Sam couldn’t hold back but return it with his own ignited desire.  A minute or two of heavy petting, and Sam finally came up for air.  He could see that Damion was still tired after his late night and a tad groggy to boot.  Hence the need for coffee.  Asking Sam what time it was, Sam answered; “Just before 8am.  I am pretty sure your first meeting is at….9am.”  Sam it seemed knew Damion’s schedule better than he did.   Pulling back, he looked at the clock.  “Mhm…you have about an hour to get ready.  Want me to go make you some breakfast?”  Sam was usually the one to rise and get things ready for them in the morning, as he knew of his lover’s need for sleep.  He had been working hard to keep up with his father’s wishes, and Sam worried that Damion may suffer from burnout if he wasn’t careful.  Sam went into Damion’s closet and started to hunt for one of Damion’s better suits, leaving his lover to try and wake up some more.
