Hocus Pocus Book and Magic store – Downtown Haven.

Hocus Pocus Book and Magic store.
image

Out on the street, Charmaine parked her red coloured VW beetle just outside the Magic shop that she had owned for the last ten years.  A darling store, that had everything that the modern day witch or warlock could possibly need.  From potions, to books, crystals and charms that made wonderful gifts, or something a bit more sinister if you asked the right questions.  Dressed in a colourful tie died skirt and matching shirt, Charmaine got out of the car and greeted some of the early bird customers that were waiting just outside the doors.  Word of the new shipment of books from Europe had reached many ears via her monthly online newsletter, and so there was at least five ladies all lined up waiting patiently.  Amelia smiled to see that they had a good amount of customers well before the doors were to even open.  This would help the young witch keep her mind off the thoughts of what was going on back at Shane’s mansion.  Amelia was dressed as you would expect, in her black school girl style dress with white blouse, knee high black socks and snappy heeled black leather shoes.  Her hair was tied into two pony tails, with white ribbons, and this exposed the spider web tattoo that was on her neck.  Charmaine fumbled with her massive key chain, and then got the door open, much to the joy of the waiting ladies.  All wandered in, as Amelia raced out back to turn on all the lights, and then start up the cash register.  This sure beat working at the crime lab for the local police station.  She was always on a deadline, and the pressure to be constantly productive took its toll on her.  Here, in the shop she was dealing only with happy clients, or some that had been hitting the bowl.

image

The ladies all filed through and Charmaine advised the clients that she would have the newest shipment unpacked within the next half hour.  There was no real rush, but you could sense that a few were eager to get their hands on the latest spell and enchantment books.

There were three boxes that needed opening, one was even a special crate that had come from the middle east.  While the customers spread out around the store, Amelia helped Charmaine open each one, using the supplied inventory list to help check off and do the pricing tickets for.  As Amelia opened the first box, one book caught her eye.  It was about ancient Egypt, and the supernatural of that era.  She reached into the box and pulled the golden tome out, and after checking it off the list, she actually set this book aside.  There was something about the inscription on the cover that seemed oddly familiar, but she couldn’t place what it was.

More and more books were brought out, and Amelia worked quickly to ensure they were accounted for, marked and put out on the new display table.  The ladies were quick to go through the books, and you could hear the delighted squeals from them, as many of the new books were highly sort after.

The register was going off as Charmaine was ringing through each of the sales to the early bird customers.  Handing each customer one of the special store bags made from hemp that contained their purchases.  It was a dizzying first hour of trade, as more customers filed through the doors, keen to see the latest shipment.  New haven’s magical society was very popular and the ladies all pretty much knew each other.  It was a tight knit community and great respect was held for Charmaine, who…was considered to be a bit eccentric compared to most Haven residents.

When the rush hour had peeked, Charmaine asked if Amelia would like a cup of tea and a moment to enjoy the book she had put aside.

“You are a lifesaver, Char.”  Amelia said, taking up the book and finding a chair near the back so she could investigate the book further.  While Charmaine was out the back putting on the jug, Amelia opened the front cover of the book only to then scream at what she saw.

It was a lithograph of Carmen and…a King by the looks of it.  The same couple that had been in her vision when she had embraced Carmen at the house.  This was the last thing she expected to see.  Charmaine came running out of the back room, wondering what had made Amelia scream.  “What is it?” Charmaine asked, her eyes wide as she saw the pale look on Amelia’s face.  Amelia turned the book around so Charmaine herself could see.

“Who does that look like?”  Amelia asked, knowing full well what Charmaine was going to say.  Charmaine placed on her small spectacles and peered at the picture of the royal Egyptian couple on the thrones.  Charmaine was almost taken aback by what she saw.  “That looks like….Carmen.  Gosh, the similarities are incredible.  But what would she be doing in an Egyptian book on the supernatural?”

Amelia had not had the time to explain everything to Charmaine, but there was no time like the present.

“When…they came home last night, I went to hug Carmen.  I had this…flash…a vision of this same couple in the book, and they sacrificed a vampire to the Sun.  Charmaine…is it a coincidence that I saw this after holding Carmen, and now I am seeing this same image in this book?  Is it me?”  There was definitely more to this, than a simple vision.  Charmaine took the book and started to go through it.  The more she read, the more startling the information was.

“According to this, the woman in that picture was a Queen….a Vampire Queen.”

Amelia knew…that she needed to show Shane the book, as soon as he woke that evening.

Haven Place

The city was slowly coming awake as its citizens prepared for their day. Storefronts were hotbeds of activity as displays were set up, doors were propped open in the unseasonable warm weather. Smells from the local bakery permeated the air as customers and clerks went hither and yon.

The sleek red Corvette pulled into a parking slot outside of a clothing store and Neema peeled her svelte form from within. She slipped on a pair of sunglasses to hide her eyes as she closed the door. She looked around, taking in the people and the buildings with an air of disdain, snorting contemptuously at their humdrum existence. She took the time to stroll along the street, taking in nothing and everything at once.

She went inside a breakfast diner that had caught her eye and claimed a table in the back corner. A sleepy waitress walked up to her table with a yawn.

“Morning. What can I get ya?”

“Coffee, black. And a daily periodical if you have one.” The waitress frowned slightly and gave Neema an odd look.

“You mean…a newspaper?”

“Is that what you call them here? Interesting.” Neema mused. The waitress gave her another odd look before walking away.

She returned a few moments later with the requested items.

“That’s $2.00 for the coffee.” the waitress stated. Neema recognized that she was required to pay for the service and dug into the pocket of the pants she was wearing and fishing out three $1 bills.

“Keep the change.”

The waitress rolled her eyes, muttering something about “cheap bitches” as she walked away. Neema ignored her as she began to read the paper. She needed to get her bearings before she continued her search.

As she was reading the society section, a particular article caught her eye. The more she read, the more evil her smirk became.

“I found you, you evil, conniving little bitch.” she grinned. She slapped the paper down on the table and quickly left. The waitress went over to clean the table and noticed where the newspaper had been left open. She had to wonder why her cheap customer was interested in the auction from the night before.

image

After some judicial use of her returning powers, Neema finally located Isabella’s home. It wasn’t as locked down as Shane’s place, but it still took her some time to find a way in, doing so by breaking a basement window and crawling in. She wanted to be there when Isabella woke for the night. And then…they were going to have a woman-to-woman talk.

Neema stretched out on the couch in the living room and closed her eyes. She wanted to be well rested for the ensuing conversation. She fell asleep with a smirk on her face.

——

When Isabella woke for the night, Neema was waiting in the darkened living room. The woman had to have sensed that someone else was in her home and Neema did not wait any longer to make her presence felt. Her dark aura flared drastically, the air heavy with the weight of it.

“Hello…Isabella.” Neema smirked in the darkness just before she flipped on the lamp on the table.

Isabella’s Mansion.

CharlotteCarrendar.

Awakening from her daylight slumber, the shutters on the mansion started to open to allow the moon’s rays to filter through into the expansive bedroom suite of Isabella.  It was easy to say that Isabella had not rested at all well, what with the murder of her foot soldier Luther, and the horrible threats from Vlad’s dog – Emilia.  Clutching the key necklet that she still wore around her neck, Isabella slid out of bed and then yawned as she padded across her room and picked up a sheer black robe to cover what was a simple teddy beneath.  Jason was of course still sleeping, and for the time being she felt it best he stayed there.  For some curious reason Isabella had a weird feeling about this night.  She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she felt that maybe if she went down to where she had hung her latest purchase of the $10 million dollar painting, that it might ease her mind.

Going down the stairs, each of the lights started to come on as if by the magic of her very presense.  The rest of her coven were all sleeping in the basement, which was what she preffered.  Isabella for the most part was a solitary person even though she had kept Luther very close to her.  Without him to aid her on the outside, she was going to have to raise one of her other followers up from the ranks.  But she didn’t trust easily, so that was going to take time.  Time she could ill afford.

Heading into the main drawing room, there was a click of a lamp light that the Vampire had not activated with her mind.  It was done by another.

“Hello …Isabella.”  That voice….that…unmistakable voice.  With the edge to the accent like one from the middle east.  Isabella spun in the direction from where the voice had come from and saw to her shock and dismay, that there was a woman lazing on one of her love couches.  And not just any woman.

“Neema?”  Isabella asked, almost as a gasp was trapped in her throat.  The hell was she doing in her house…..or in the country for that matter.  Isabella had left that mad woman’s clutches so long ago that Neema should be nothing but a mummy in some far off museum.  Even though Neema was using Carmen’s body as her host, the two women were identical.

image

Growling under her breath, the Vampire mistress shook with fear and anger.  “What are you doing in my house?”  Little did she know…what Neema had come for.  Her eyes darted about the room to see if Neema had brought her own followers, but saw none.  Did Neema know about Vlad?  That was one of many questions.

Isabella’s Mansion – Living Room

LadyBelz: “Hmm…quite a nice place you have here, Izzie.” Neema smirked, crossing her legs. “I especially like the artwork of yourself and Vladmir. Spent a bit of money on it, did you?” she arched an eyebrow, glancing at the painting in question. There was silence between the two women before Neema’s expression became downright nasty. “Did you really think you could get away with betraying me, betraying my coven? I spent thousands of years, entombed, hearing my own screams as I slowly died from the thirst, my spirit, my very essence awaiting the day I could return to body and take my revenge on those who betrayed me.” Faster then a human could blink, Neema was directly in Isabella’s face, looking her over with her dark gaze. She reached up to brush a loose strand of hair back behind Isabella’s ear, a caress that was sensual as well as a warning. “I won’t kill you…yet…for your betrayal. You have information I want and your answers will determine if you live…or die.” Neema stepped back away from Isabella and returned to the couch. “Where is my key?”

image

CharlotteCarrendar: Isabella was wearing the very key that Neema sought. She was rooted to the ground when the woman came at her with such speed and power. Isabella could hardly believe that the woman was there in the flesh. Neema was meant to be nothing more than food for the scarabs. But as she listened to what Isabella’s betrayal had done to the woman, she knew that now her own unlife was at serious risk. The painting – oh that would have angered Neema all the more as Isabella enjoyed her coupling with the great Vladimir. Isabella was one of many that the Count enjoyed over the thousand or so years that he continued to walk the earth, while the whereabouts of his beloved Neema became nothing more than a terrible mystery. Isabella shivered coolly at Neema’s touch. The woman had a way about her that could barely be described as anything more than sinister. “Everything I have…I gained myself, without help from the likes of Vlad…or you. You….are just some spirit in an unwilling host. I’m sure that is not going to last much longer. So…taunt me all you want. I am never telling you of the key.” Isabella said with an air of defiance.

image

LadyBelz: Neema watched her with dark eyes, malice glittering in their very depths. She was impressed, slightly that Isabella would argue back with her. She had wanted to judge the woman’s intent and now she had her measure.

She chuckled darkly. “That wasn’t really a request, my darling Servant.” Neema hissed the last word as an insult, reminding Isabella that she had once belonged to Neema and she wasn’t going to let her forget it. “You will tell me what I wish to know…or I will destroy your entire coven…including your little playmate I can smell that is laying in your bed right at this moment.”

Neema was a smart woman. She knew Isabella was a vain and insecure person, keeping secrets was an art form for her. But Neema had sensed her own blood, kept in the tip of the very key she sought and had seen the fine silver chain around Isabella’s neck. She was testing Isabella, judging her truthfulness and finding her severely lacking. It was only a matter of time.

“Second question while I let you think over the first some more. Vladmir is here in this town. Where is he?”

CharlotteCarrendar: Isabella hissed violently as she bared her fangs at Neema. “You shall bring no harm to what is mine. They are of my blood and serve me. I am the Mistress in this house!” she screeched as she flew into a terrible rage at the thought of her darling Jason, or her other blood dolls and vampires falling prey to the woman. Her chest rose and fell sharply, and this was when the glint of silver of the chain would be seen, as though winking out from beneath her black sheer robe. Rounding on the woman, Isabella seethed. “You think you will have Vladmir fall for you again. You might want to rethink that. Oh..he is here alright. In this very town. All you have to do is follow the stench of his blood hounds – his Generals if you want to know where he is holed up at.” Isabella was still smarting over the fact that Emilia, his right hand had murdered Luther in such a horrific fashion. Also…wanting the damned key. To Isabella, no one was truly safe from Vladmir. She may have the portrait of her intimate times with the Count, but she like many knew of how much he changed after losing Neema. And to add salt to the venomous bite of Isabella’s words, she added. “I stopped being your servant the day I sealed your tomb.” <3>

LadyBelz: Neema sat upon the couch, calm and cool and let Isabella have her little rant. So…Vladmir had his hounds with him. She vaguely remembered Emelia. The little tart thought herself to be in love with her Vladmir. But there was only one woman for him and Neema was going back to him. “Hmm. I should have known. You always did strive to be better then others, rising above your station. Do they know you were once my slave? My little…plaything to trot out to the soldiers under my command?” Neema smirked, getting to her feet once more. She stalked toward Isabella, like a panther stalking her prey, walking around her in a small circle. She stopped behind the woman, smirking at the top of her head as Neema was about a foot taller. She placed her chin on Isabella’s shoulder. “I should take you as my slave again…make you perform like a monkey before me.” she whispered darkly. “But I will not dirty myself with such filth.” Neema walked around until she stood before Isabella. She reached out and grabbed the chain, exposing the key to her eyes. With a quick hard yank, she broke the chain, and dropped the key into the palm of her hand. She gave Isabella a sideways glance. “I will be returning for you. You cannot hide from me, so don’t even try.” Neema leaned in and planted a kiss upon a stunned Isabella’s lips. “Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

With a dark laugh, Neema turned and sauntered casually from the house. She had a Master Vampire to find.

image

CharlotteCarrendar: The tug of the silver chain around her neck caused to make the chain break and it fell freely into Neema’s hand. The one piece of history that would keep Isabella safe was now in the hands of her greatest enemy. Isabella scowled and grit her teeth as Neema moved to touch her, and then planted a sickening kiss on her lips. Warning that she would return for her once she had fulfilled her mission. Obviously she wanted to seek out Vladmir. That would either go one of two ways. Vlad may not even realize it is the same Neema, perhaps think it is bait to a trap, or…he would embrace his former flame. Either way, Isabella did not plan on simply waiting on Neema’s return. As soon as Neema had walked past and out of the house, with the key now in her possession, Isabella let out a blood curdling scream of rage, that broke many a window in that room. She had to get away…and fast.

As Shane was talking to Amelia and the twins were speaking with Mary, Neema took the opportunity to do some snooping around. She carefully searched through the bedroom for any clues. She had been angered upon her awakening to discover that thousands of years had passed and that she had not been entombed with her most prized possession. Seeing Carmen had given her cause to take possession of the woman so that she could not only regain a body, but to hunt down the one who had stolen her personal property and make them regret the day they were born.

A spirit on a mission, Neema was going to get what was hers, no matter the cost.

She stood in the middle of the bedroom, her face a mask of rage as her search had turned up nothing. She quickly rifled through Carmen’s memories and saw the most recent one of her talking to Shane about a box. Neema looked at the scene carefully. It was not the room she was standing in.

She opened the door to the bedroom and peeked into the hall. Not a sound could be heard, which suited her purposes just fine. She stepped into the hall on silent feet, quietly closing the door behind her. There were many rooms on the upper floors of the mansion and she put her hands on her hips, annoyed that she had to look through so many rooms.

“Who needs a house with so many rooms anyway?” she grumbled to herself. With a sigh, she started opening (or trying to in the case of locked ones) the doors to see what was behind them. Most of the rooms were bedrooms set aside for various “family” members, if the amount of personal belongings in them were any sign. She didn’t have a clue as to how to get into the locked rooms and bypassed those for the moment. There was no indication that the room she was seeking was on the upper floors.

image

Moving toward the stairs, Neema peered over the banister. She could hear muffled voices but she had no idea as to which direction they were coming from. Griping the banister, she carefully made her way down, cringing when one of the stairs made a slight creak that sounded loud to her ears. She paused and listened to see if anyone else had heard the noise. When no confrontation was forthcoming, she continued down.

Reaching the bottom landing, she took a listen and realized the muffled voices were coming from the direction of the family room. She made a point to not go near that area and turned instead in the other direction. Shadows on the wall indicated there was someone in the kitchen. She made a face. She needed to go by there to get to Shane’s office.

“Ibn el Ahba!*” She hissed. How many people were in this damn house? (*translation: “Son of a prostitute!”)

She moved close to the wall and peeked around. It was David and Misty. She couldn’t tell if they were making a late morning snack before they rested for the day or if they were discovering new uses for food as sexual aids. Neema shuddered and decided they were too preoccupied with each other to notice her walking by. But she was quick about it, using Carmen’s own speed to her advantage.

Once past the kitchen, she found herself in front of the door of Shane’s office. She pressed her ear to the door, a just in case measure. Hearing nothing, she quietly knocked.

Still nothing.

She rotated the knob and the door opened with a quiet click.

image

“Hello?” she whispered, peeking around the edge. The office was silent. She went inside, closing the door behind her. It was a very large and spacious office, all oak and mahogany woods. There was a thing on the desk that she’d never even seen before. It looked like some kind of slim box with a black covering (computer monitor) attached by some kind of rope to another flat box with some type of writing on it (keyboard). She gave a small frown at the items, wondering what they were used for.

Ignoring that for the moment, she went behind the desk and sat in the (quite comfortable) chair. She started in the middle drawer, finding all sorts of writing utensils. Going through the drawers on the right side, there was nothing but paperwork in them. The left side drawers revealed more of the same.

Sighing, Neema glanced around the office and saw another, smaller desk (Carmen’s). She moved over to it and began rifling through the drawers. More of the same – paperwork.

“Zayy iz-zift!*” (*translation: “Crap!”)

She stood in the middle of the office and noticed the wall of tomes (books). She moved to them and began looking through them for additional clues. She had no idea that the painting she was standing near to had secrets of its own.

Carmen remained silent, locking down her thoughts about the safe hidden behind the painting. She was enjoying Neema’s frustrated efforts to find what she was looking for, not even knowing about modern conveniences such as hidden safes. It was amusing. Leaving Neema to her search, Carmen sunk deeper into her own mind. She was coming close to re accessing her Fae powers. She just needed a few more days to gather the strength needed to launch an all-out assault.

Neema would not know what hit her when the time came. Her thoughts turned to her husband. She could only hope he was beginning to realize that something was seriously wrong with his wife.

Amelia’s Pool house.

CharlotteCarrendar.

Amelia watched Shane hurry outside and then rush across to the main house at speed.  Wrapping her arms around herself, Amelia approached the glass sliding door and stared up at the moon.  She knew that time was against them all.  Within the hour, Shane and the other vampire were going to have to retreat into the safety of the main house with all the shutters closed.  If his suspicions were correct, his investigation would have to wait.  Amelia on the otherhand had a job to go to.  She decided that she would call on Charmaine and her other witch friends over the course of the day.  Sighing, Amelia went off to bed to try and get a little sleep in before she had to go to work.  Being up all night every night with her vampire friends was running her ragged – burning the candle at both ends.  Amelia’s mind was heavy with worry however.  There was a real danger inside that house.  She was sure of it.

Inside the main house, Shane knew he was on borrowed time.  Many of his vampire family were heading to their rooms now, as the shutters were going to be activated and that the morning sun would soon be coming up over the horizon.  With only forty minutes left till the sun came up, he knew he would not be able to have enough time to interrogate Carmen’s newest captive, the girl from the museum.  The mystery of the box, and the strange behaviors of Carmen in her current state would need to be addressed in the waking hours of the following night.

David and Misty were coming out of the kitchen area, arm in arm about to head to their joint room.  The couple had gotten very close since David had moved back into his brother’s mansion.  He gave Shane a sly wink as he pulled Misty close to him.  David noted that Shane looked perplexed.  “Why aren’t you with that woman of yours, Bro?”  It was an obvious question, since he knew that they were normally inseparable.  Shane raked his fingers through his hair and tried to find an excuse.  “She needed to rest….so I went out to see Amelia.”  It was a half truth, since Shane didn’t want to spread his concerns about his wife just yet.  He needed more time to uncover the mystery.  Misty tilted her head and then blew a kiss at Shane as she and David started to descend the stairs to their daylight quarters.  “Night night Shane.”   Her fingers wiggling, as David swept her up off her feet and carried her down the rest of the way.  With the couple gone, it was just Shane on his own.  He contemplated going into the den and just checking the safe, but then Tala, the wolf padded up towards him and whined softly – nudging his hand with the top of his head.  Shane gave the wolf a soft pat and then wondered if the wolf was hungry.  “Come on, I’ll get you a snack before bed.”  Shane led Tala into the kitchen, which took him away from the door to the den.  Little did he know that Neema was searching his den for the very thing he was about to check on.

Inside the kitchen, Shane brought out a juicy red steak for Tala and tossed it onto the wolf’s feeding dish on the floor.  Tala didn’t wait, practically pouncing on it and then taking off to her spot in the house to enjoy the meat in piece.  Shane licked his fingers of the blood, then headed upstairs to his own room.  Normally he would sleep with Carmen….but something just didn’t feel right.  He simply didn’t trust her.

Shane’s Office

image

Neema heard the voices in the hall and froze where she was. Tiptoeing to the door, she pressed her ear to the wood to listen.

“Why aren’t you with that woman of yours, Bro?” came the voice of a male. Neema didn’t recall his name.

“She needed to rest….so I went out to see Amelia.” she heard Shane state. Ah, Amelia, is it? she thought to herself. Must be his bit on the side. Good. Now I won’t have to cater to his needs. she smirked. Carmen bit her tongue upon hearing that. There was no need to bring danger to Amelia.

“Night night Shane.” she heard a female voice state. After a few moments, it was quiet. She was about to take a chance to sneak out when she heard Shane speak again.

“Come on, I’ll get you a snack before bed.” Wondering to whom he was speaking, she quietly opened the door and peeked into the hall in time to see a white furred tail disappear into the kitchen. She clenched her teeth in anger. She knew there was no chance of her sneaking past Shane as he seemed to be aware of every movement within his vicinity. She was thinking of going out of a window when there was the bleep of an alarm and the shades of the house began to go down. She whirled around in shock as she watched the metallic room darkening shields descend over all the windows in the office. There went her chance to leave that way.

A noise in the hall caught her attention and she peeked out once again to see Shane headed upstairs. She waited a full 10 minutes before she left the office, closing the door behind her. The house was silent as a tomb. She moved to the front door, thinking to leave that way, but in addition to the shields over the windows, there was also one over the doors. She wanted to scream with frustration. She needed to get out of this house.

She moved around the downstairs area, searching all the doors and windows but there was no exit to be found. Moving back into the kitchen, there was a door she hadn’t noticed before and it wasn’t shielded like the others. She opened it and found herself in the open air garage. The morning sun was slowly coming up over the horizon and she could clearly see all the different cars under the canopy. She may have been new to this era, but she had Carmen’s memories to draw upon and knew how to maneuver in one these “horseless carriages”. With a grin, she slid into the blood red Corvette and started the engine, listening to the smooth rumble beneath the hood.

image

Putting the car in gear, she pulled out of the garage, down the drive and out the gate, unaware that her exit from the property may have been noticed and heard.

Across the street, Vlad’s driver had been watching the house through binoculars and had seen “Carmen’s” exit. It had shocked him somewhat since he knew from his Master that the woman was a vampire. How was she able to be out during daylight hours? He made some notes on a pad he kept on the dash and put the car in gear to follow. One thing was for certain…his Master would definitely be interested in this news…

Amelia’s Pool House.

CharlotteCarrendar.

It was just after 8 am and the sound of Charmaine’s VW beetle could be heard pulling into the driveway of Shane’s estate.  The main house was now locked up tighter than Fort Knox with the vampires within all sleeping peacefully.  Out round the back was the pool house, that Shane and Carmen had specially fitted out for Shane’s best friend, Amelia.  Bringing her bug to a stop, the crazy haired Charmaine got out of her car and slammed the door, before skipping round the back of the property till she came up to the tiled path that led to the pool house.  All the shades had been pulled down, as Amelia was trying to get as much sleep as she could before going to work.  Charmaine tapped on the glass door, then not hearing an answer, she slid the door open and padded inside.  Little did Charmaine know that Amelia had been up half the night with Shane, after the weird vibes that Carmen had given off.

Charmaine was used to making herself at home in the pool house, and immediately put on the TV, as she went into the kitchen to start making Amelia some breakfast.  First she filled the jug with water to boil for tea, before starting to go through the pantry and refrigerator eggs and bacon.  The sounds of the television woke Amelia, who came out bleary eyed to find the ditzy blonde witch already working in the kitchen.

“What time is it?”  Amelia asked with a yawn, scratching her head as she blinked at the TV.  Charmaine happily chuckled; “Just after 8.  I figured you had another all nighter and could use a lift to work after I cook you some breakfast.”

Amelia let out another yawn and then saluted Charmaine, before turning on her heel and going to go have a shower and get ready for the day, while Charmaine continued to cook breakfast.

On the television was a news broadcast about a break in at the museum, and the disappearance of the archaeological student.  Charmaine took in the news that was unfolding, as she was cutting up some parsley, unaware that the very people that did the break in, were Amelia’s hosts; Shane and Carmen.  Trouble was brewing it seemed, and this was just going to add to Amelia’s woes as she came to discover this for herself.

Coming out of the bathroom, and getting dressed Amelia was ready for the day, though she could have used a few more hours sleep.  She opened all the shutters that showed the pool area in all it’s glory, as well as the well fortified house of Shane.  Amelia has the worst possible feeling about Carmen, and little did she know that Neema – Carmen’s alter had done the bolt as the sun had come up.

Walking into the kitchen, she wrapped her arms around Charmaine, who was making Amelia a cup of tea.  She kissed the cheek of her friend as Charmaine was about to hand her the cup.

“Ready for your first day at my store?”  Charmaine asked.  Amelia had given notice at her job at the police station.  She wanted to start a fresh, and be as far away as she could be from her memories of Jason – the detective she had fallen in love with long ago.  Working for Charmaine, was a good chance to meet with other local witches, and also catch the newest books that came into the store from time to time.  “It will be a breath of fresh air, that is all I can say.”  Charmaine was pleased to hear this.  She wanted to see Amelia take on life in a better way.  Embrace her inner self.  With the breakfast plates ready, she served them up on the counter, and both girls started to tuck in.  There would be enough time for talking when they headed out to the car.

Charmaine winked at her best friend.  “You know, some days we get some pretty handsome warlocks coming in.  Who knows, one might cast a spell on you?”

Amelia laughed at the thought of it.  In the back of her mind, she always knew Jarvis was watching her.  Would she ever give him a chance?  Could he control his urges around her?  That remained to be seen.

“Come on…let’s get going.  I am dying to unpack the latest book shipment from Europe.”  Charmaine said, taking up the dirty plates and washing them in the sink, before grabbing her bag and escorting Amelia out the door.

Welcome to Manoir de Sang (roughly translates to “Mansion of Blood”), home of Vampire District Attorney Shane Williamson and his mate, Carmen, who runs the local branch of Internal Affairs for the state. The estate is massive, with an attached multi-car garage that houses Shane’s extensive and expensive car collection, large in-ground pool and a poolhouse that was converted into a set of apartments for Shane’s best friend and local witch, Amelia Reed. One would think that there was nothing odd about the house and grounds. But if one were to investigate, they would discover that beneath the home are massive caverns housing Shane’s vampire coven. Shane and Carmen protect all who seek sanctuary within their walls, Shane having done this for over a millenia before Carmen came into his life and shared his burden. Woe be the one who tries to harm this unusual family.

Shane and Carmen’s estate – Kitchen/ family room

Little did the Egyptian Queen holding control of Carmen’s body understand just how close Carmen was to all the people that inhabited the Williamson Estate. It was like a real family, and acted like one in the modern era. Shane of course was the head, but Carmen was the Queen so she usually had the final word when it came to how the house was run, as well as those that served under them.

Bianca was dishing up a meal in the dog bowl for Tala, when the back sliding door opened from the pool and Amelia wandered in. Now the Witch was just as much a part of the family, as the vampires were and given special privileges since she was residing in the pool house. She had missed a lot of the excitement of late, but she had spotted Carmen return home with Shane and thought she would come over to welcome her back.

image

Amelia approached Carmen for one of her usual hugs, which she did a lot. Amelia was just the kind of girl who shared affection easily. What happened next would leave Amelia reeling. As Amelia went to put her arms around Carmen, she suddenly got a flash of another woman, a top a throne all dressed in Egyptian finery. She was seated beside a man, who for the life of Amelia seemed so familiar it was scary. But it wasn’t Shane. The woman was laughing as a woman was being tied to a stake in the middle of a chamber. The chamber had a special dome like roof, and when the Queen raised the blood chalice, the dome roof top started to inch back, causing a small ray of sunlight to beat down on the woman tied to the post. It was cooking the girl alive. Was she another vampire? The man on the throne next to her was laughing and then taking up the Queen/Carmen’s hand and kissing it. They were both enjoying watching the woman turn to ash. Amelia instantly drew back and stared at Carmen with a horrified face. She looked at Jarvis, who had just come down the stairs and saw Amelia standing there, stunned.

image

“Amelia…what is it?”

Amelia cringed and then fled the house, running across to the pool house and slamming the door. No vampires could enter the pool house, except Shane…or Bianca.

Shane re entered the room only to see Amelia running out. He glanced at Mary, who was looking at Carmen oddly too, then he looked at Carmen.

“Is everything alright?” Clearly…it was far from that.

Shane and Carmen’s Bedroom
Neema took a deep breath before she turned to open the door. Shane’s facial expression was one of worry and concern. Seeing this, Carmen’s subconcious was suffused with love.

-Take that, bitch!- she thought savagely.

Neema growled at her before she prepared to put on the performance of a lifetime.

“I’m fine. Drinking that blood must have affected me a bit. I’m feeling a bit off. I’ll be right as rain by tomorrow.” She gave him a smile full of love while inside, she wanted to throw up.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body tight to his.

“We still have some time before daybreak.” she purred, scraping her nails along the sensitive skin of his neck. She slipped her mouth over his, lips caressing in a seductive dance.

It was enough to make her physically ill…but it had to be done.

Shane and Carmen’s Bedroom.

It was not normal for Shane to actually pull back from his love, especially when she was giving him a sizzling hot kiss.  Shane was often very much intune with his beloved, but there was something off in the way she was acting.  Blood did not normally affect her moods, and when she had fed on the archeologist, she seemed perfectly fine afterwards.  It was only the reactions that everyone else was having that had him concerned.  Shane let out something of a concerned growling noise, and then instead he raised his hand to her left cheek cupping it.  His sea coloured blue eyes locked on hers as though he was trying to speak to her mind.  The problem was he was not getting a response.  ~Can you hear me?~ He said to her mind.  Still nothing.  Taking her at her word, saying how she would be fine in the next eve, he did something out of character.

“Since the blood has made you ill, I suggest you get some rest.  Feel free to call up the twins if you wish….for that sort of affection.”

The blonde Vampire then drew his hand back, and headed to the door.  He gave her one last look, before leaving her to her own devices.  Shane was not stupid.  He had a suspicion that something wasn’t right, and would go back down stairs to talk to Mary, possibly Amelia since she had fled after touching Carmen.  With the door closed behind him, Carmen or Neema could rest.  But would she?

Inside Neema’s mind, Carmen was laughing her head off at Shane’s rebuff.

=What’s so damn funny?= Neema snarled at the woman.

-Shane knows on some level that you’re not me and I think that’s the funniest, fucking thing in the world!-

=I should kill you now and be done with you.=

-You can try, Little Bitch. You can certainly try, but if you do that, well…Shane will know…and there would be nowhere you can hide from his wrath.-

Neema raged because she knew Carmen was right. She could easily detected the bond between Carmen and her mate and that there was no way to break it without Shane knowing about it. She paced back and forth in the room, wondering what to do next. She couldn’t search the house with everyone still awake. Sunlight was less then 2 hours away. She would have to do her searching then.

There was a knock on the closed door and wondering who it could be, Neema moved closer.

“Who is it?” she demanded.

“It’s Ethan and Evan, Mistress. We are but your humble servants. We sensed your disquiet and were concerned.” came a male voice through the door. Neema yanked open the door and saw the twins standing there.

image

She frowned. “Why are you here?”

“We sensed your upset.” the one on the right said.

=Who are these fools?= she demanded, staring at the two of them.

-That’s for me to know and you to never find out.- Carmen snickered.

It took everything in her to not start going on a tear. Neema took a deep breath as she stared at the two men before her.

“I am fine. Just tired. Thank you for your concern.”

“Is there anything we can help you with?” the one on the left asked.

“No. I just need sleep. Thank you.” And with that, she closed the door in their faces. Evan looked at his brother, a frown marring his features. Ethan shook his head and directed his brother away from the closed door.

“Who was that?” Ethan wondered.

“I do not know, but that is not our Mistress. Something happened when they went to the museum.” Evan replied.

“We need to tell the Master.”

“Let’s go.” The two men went in search of their coven Master, worried about the state of affairs in the house.

Mary was in the lounge when the twins appeared.

“Have you seen the Master?” Ethan asked.

“Yes, he just went out to the poolhouse to speak to Amelia. Why?”

“There is something wrong with our Mistress. She is not her.” Evan stated. Mary jumped to her feet, startling them both.

“I KNEW IT!” she crowed. She grabbed them both by the arms and yanked them onto the couch. “Tell me everything.” She demanded…

Amelia’s Pool House.

image

Lighting a few candles in her lounge area, Amelia was getting ready to do some meditation to ease her troubled mind after the horrors she saw when she touched Carmen.  Something was not right in that house.  She even glanced over her shoulder to stare at the large manor, only to see a shadow that lurked outside her door.  The pool house was off limits but to only a handful of those that resided within Shane and Carmen’s house.  And that was pretty much Shane and Carmen.  Jarvis was simply not allowed, after he had shown time and again he could not seem to restrain himself around Amelia.  The poor fool could only love her from afar, until such times he could control his urges – his desire to make her like him.

Shane stood outside Amelia’s door, clearly troubled by what he had just experienced.  A coldness to his love that was never there before.  His inner voice trying to find hers and getting nothing but silence.  Something had happened at the Museum.  He was sure of it now.  In a way, he felt the only person that could possibly understand was Amelia.  Her reaction to flee the house now put weight to his concerns.  Shane tapped lightly on the door, only for it to open all by itself.  Charmed by the witch that dwelled within.

“You sensed it too?”  That was Amelia’s question as she turned away from her arrangement of candles and blew out the large striker match.

Shane entered, his hands behind his back and the door closed in behind him.  With a grim expression he nodded.  “I know my wife.  That…creature in our bedroom right now, is not her.”

Amelia set down the dead match, and crossed the floor to where Shane was standing.  She stared up at him with inquisitive eyes.  “What exactly did you do tonight, before you both came home?”  Amelia was sure that whatever they did, had something to do with this change in Carmen.  Shane took a seat on Amelia’s black leather couch and she followed over to sit beside him.  He leaned back, as he started to recant the night’s events.

“We went to the museum.  More or less for answers to the riddle of the box that we found at Vincent’s burnt out manor.  It was covered in Egyptian hieroglyphics….”    Amelia sat bolt upright on hearing what he said.  “Shane!  When I went to hug Carmen, I had a vision.  It was not of this time, it was not even in this country.  It was…in Egypt.”  Now, Shane’s brows furrowed.  “What did you see?”  He turned his body to face Amelia’s.  Her hindsight and visions were proving to be astonishing, to say the least.  Amelia took Shane’s hands in hers and then she opened up her mind, so that Shane himself could see exactly what Amelia had.   An Eygptian Goddess.  A woman of great beauty upon a throne of Gold and jewels.  She looked exactly like Carmen.  Amelia’s body trembled and her pupils moved rapidly under her closed lids.  The further that Shane pressed on to see the vision, the more it hurt the girl.  A sacrifice of….a vampire to the Sun.

Shane suddenly let go of Amelia’s hands as the vision disappeared.  The woman in the vision….could that be who had taken over Carmen’s mind….her body?

Suddenly Shane jumped to his feet.

“The box!”  He yelled out.  The creature in Carmen must be after the box.  The one that he found in Vincent’s safe.  “I need to wake up that blood doll we brought back from the museum.  That box….there is something inside that box….that everyone wants.”  Amelia had no idea about the box, but its mystery was to become the centre point to why Carmen changed.  Amelia reached for Shane’s hand.  “What about Carmen?”  She was sure that Carmen was possessed by whoever previously owned the box.  Shane rushed for the door.  He called out over his shoulder.  “I want you to figure out a way, to free her from that bitch in her head!”

As Shane left the pool house, Amelia went to call Charmaine.  She was going to need the help of her sister witches for this.

Isabella’s Mansion – Bedroom

As Isabella sat on Jason’s lap curling her fingers under his chin in a bid to show some affection she noted something out of the corner of her eye. A flash of silver and red, but as soon as it was gone she dismissed it as her imagination. She explained about Vlad…about the threat but little did she know that downstairs, her most trusted and loyal was taking his last breathes as a murderous Emilia went about doing her Master’s orders. Sending a message that when read was going to shock and scare Isabella to the core.

The vampire Mistress curled in closer to Jason with her head pressed to his chest. Trying to compose herself, when all of a sudden she felt as though her very heart was being ripped from her body. She lurched back, clutching her chest. Her mouth wide open as she was experiencing a reaction to that of what was happening to Luther downstairs. So close was their bond, that she could see his final moment right before her eyes. It was as though it was happening to her.

https://i0.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5g1dtivJw1r589g7.gif

The name “Luther” escaped her lips in almost a dry rattle as she slipped off Jason’s lap and crumpled to the floor. Gasping as though taking her last breath. It was only then that the cord that bound her to Luther snapped and her eyes reverted to near normal. Hissing in protest she pushed herself to her feet. Both her hands reaching up to her head as she let out a terrible scream. Running from the room, she dashed down the hall at speed, her robe fluttering behind her. Down the stair well, as the echo of a dying heart beat its last.

Turning the corner she came into the kitchen, and there he was. Driven into the wall by a butcher’s knife through the forehead, and a message scrawled in blood that was meant for Isabella herself. Tearful she approached the body of Luther. A shaking hand reaching out to touch his horrified face. Blood tears fell from her eyes as she released a sob that was etched in sorrow and grief. A large hole was in his chest cavity showing where his heart had been ripped out.

It was clear….Vlad had found her.

Isabella’s Mansion – Bedroom

Jason cradled Isabella in his strong caring arms before her form slipped from his arms and to the ground. He could only watch helplessly as she went through what seemed to be her last moments before she took off down the hall leaving a bewildered Jason behind. Upon hearing her sob Jason would tear down the hall at speed before skidding to a stop as his blood ran cold. Oh yes Vlad had found them but that was no worry for the former Marine and cop now vampire. Even though Vlad was by far older then him Jason held no fear for the man or the people under his employ. He would walk slowly towards Isabella before turning her into his chest and rubbing her back soothingly. As he did so his eyes would narrow to slits as they dilated while his form rippled for the barest of moments before stopping. Jason was beyond livid he was rightfully enraged in his eyes as nobody deserved to die the way Luther had. Jason would mutter softly before pulling away from Isabella slowly to look her in the eyes. “Hell will pale in comparison to what I will do them as vengeance for Luther my love…”

New Haven Bar – Rough Nights

One thing that Rheksas was very good at was his high level of contacts in various state departments, and also some shady investigators who were used on missing person cases. Often it was to cover tracks and get rid of the evidence, but this time, Rheksas was on the hunt for the woman in the photograph that the Count had provided. Seated in the back part of the Rough nights bar, he stared at his watch again, before checking the door, when a disheveled looking man in a dark wool coat came in the door. He was wearing ill fitted clothes that looked like he got them from the Thrift store, and when he approached Rheksas the over powering smell of urine and cigarette smoke was enough to make Rheksas want to gag. Detective Whines was booted off the force some ten years ago after he had been caught with his pants down literally servicing the acting Police Commisioner’s daughter. The last ten years he made a dime here and there doing investigations, and when he got the call from the mysterious Rheksas, all he could think of was the dollar signs.

https://i1.wp.com/bilgianaliz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/dedektif.jpg

“Nice place for a meet up, General. So, what can I do you for?” the detective asked, as Rheksas pointed for him to take a seat and wait for further instructions. Once he was sure no one else was paying attention to the pair, he took out the folded photograph and slid it picture side down for the Detective to look at.

“My employer seeks information on this woman.”

As soon as Detective Whines saw the picture he cracked up laughing. “Well fuck me. If its not the broad that had me booted from the force. Why…if I could get my hands on her…” Clearly he had unresolved issues with Carmen, and this only made Rheksas concerned. “You will not lay a finger on that woman. All we want to know is who she is and how to find her.”

The detective flicked the picture back to Rheksas and leaned back in the booth, twirling a toothpick between his teeth. He was about to make Rheksas’s night.

“She is Carmen Williamson, formerly Carmen Marquez . Word on the street is she married the DA. Shane Williamson and lives in his estate up on the hill. She was framed for murder at some point, but the DA got her off. If you ask me the whole thing stinks to high heaven. She was also promoted to the State officer for Internal police investigations. Got some new digs for an office, for reasons that allude me. She’s a looker, I’ll grant you that, but a fucking Iron maiden who would crush your balls no sooner than look at you.”

Rheksas started to grin. She sounded like the kind of woman the Count would find….interesting. “So, where would I find this…office?” Rheksas asked, and the Detective pulled out his cell and started to google the information.

“Here we go…1108 Sandstone Drive. Pink building. Ew.”

Rheksas took down the information and then went to leave the table. The Detective coughed and held out his hand, expecting payment. The General turned and smiled at him before reaching across to slap his face. “You will get paid soon as this lead is valid. Till then, you can wait.”

The Detective grumbled and tossed his cell across the booth. he didn’t know what was worse? Working for Vampires or someone like Carmen.

Vlad’s Manor

~Can she be trusted?~

The black saloon sped into the gravel driveway of the Estate and came to stop only after doing a drift slide – clouds of pebbles and gravel cascading behind the vehicle. The engine growled one last time, as Emilia sat behind the wheel still listening to the rock classic “Let the bodies hit the floor” that pumped through the speakers of the car. She finally cut the lights and the engine, opening the driver’s side door, and her long black blood covered boot stepped out onto the gravel.

Something changed in Emilia this night. A fire burned behind her irises that was not there before. In all the thousands of years of service she had never been one to disobey orders from her Lord. But this night, as she held the pumping heart of Luther in her hand, and licked his blood from her fingers after scrawling the message for the slut Isabella, her patience with all those around her was now at it’s end.

The pawn had just elevated herself to the status of Knight.

Emilia slammed the car door, and pivoted on her right boot to head towards the entrance of Vlad’s manor, where no doubt the Count would be waiting for his report. Emilia had sprayed marks of blood all over her black leather jacket and she reeked of death. A fresh kill. Her face was like stone, with red rings around her eyes. She walked with a pronounced swagger, her guns glistening beneath the flaps of her coat. Figure hugging black leather pants with tears in them only showed her victim struggled. She got her job done, and sent home a message to Isabella that was sure to have her already packing her bags.

Outside the Manor, Rheksas’s truck pulled up and the hulking Vampire general spotted the saloon. So, Emilia beat him back. He had to admit, he was impressed. “Damn girl.”

He used vampiric speed to enter the house so he could catch up with the General and both would present their findings to the Count, but when he spotted Emilia from behind, he got an eerie sense…that all was not well. A prickling sensation in the back of the neck. His foot falls caused her to stop, and she glanced over her shoulder. The look in her eyes….pure evil.

A Page in TimeChapter Nine

When in Sparta

Writers
CharlotteCarrendar
IceTe3a

IceTe3a: He was staring at Nadia as she couldn’t figure out what they were looking at, his hues glance quickly back to the reflection as the two people were now staring at them with a smile, it was eerie to look at himself like that.. was this fate? What exactly was going on, he looked at Nadia as she reached for the liquid, he pushed her hand back and shook his head “Don’t, let me touch it just in case. Don’t want you getting hurt now” he smiled lightly as he let go of her hand and ruffled the back of his hair “here goes nothing I suppose?” he gulped down a mouth full of saliva as he reached out slowly he noticed the other him was doing exactly the same, his fingers were dangling inches away from the liquid as he looked at Nadia with a slightly worried look, time to man up he thought to himself as he leaned forward the tips of his fingers sink into the liquid “huh.. it’s cold..” he said as he tried to pull his fingers back with no success “they’re stuck..” he gripped his wrist with his other hand and tried to pull his hand free “It won’t come loose!” suddenly he could feel his hand being pulled into the liquid slowly he was being dragged into the liquid his arm was engulfed into the liquid within moments “Nadia!” he said as he quickly disappeared into the liquid out of sight, as he did the reflection of him in the liquid disappeared from view as well. It was black.. he couldn’t see anything it felt like ages suddenly he was thrown out as he passed through the liquid to the other side in ancient Greece he flew straight past the other female “Shiit!” he said as he landed hard head first on the stone floor *Bang!* the hit to his head knocked him out for awhile as he laid on the floor on his stomach out cold. His clothing had changed he was wearing the same thing his reflection had on, A red traditional Spartan cape with the leather browned pants, he even had the same scarring that his reflection did. The reflection female watched him as he fell through and was knocked unconscious on the floor she than turned back to look at Nadia with a smile. All of this was viewable by Nadia as she was on the other side still left behind by him as he told her he’d touch it first. Dante didn’t know it yet, but he had been transported back in time to Ancient Greece where he took over the life of his past life back in Ancient Greece, who he was and what he was back then remained to be seen.

CharlotteCarrendar:- Nadia placed her hand up to her right cheek, and the woman in the reflection did the same thing – only she was smiling slyly as she did it. A twinkle in her eyes almost as you could see her coy reaction to Nadia realizing that they were one and the same. Nadia made goose lips like in a selfie and the girl in the reflection did it too. Only, she winked after Nadia had done it. This was like a sick game as the other Nadia was enjoying watching the modern self become horribly confused. When Nadia had reached out to touch her other self, Dante pulled her hand away as though he didn’t want to see her get into harm. “But but..” she protested. Her words fell on deaf ears however, for Dante decided if anyone was going to try it was going to be him. “Be careful.” Nadia urged; watching with closely and holding her breath as though he was about to go underwater. The tension was rising and exploded as soon as Dante realized that he was stuck. “they’re stuck..” he cried, pulling on his wrist with his free hand. Nadia gasped as she went in behind him and grabbed onto his waist to try and pull him back. The force however of his other side was pulling him in, and the next thing she knew he had vanished or been consumed by the liquid wall. “DANTE!” she screamed. She found herself now alone in the temple and facing her other self, who at this point was laughing. “Give him back!” Nadia growled at her other self, who simply shook her head and gestured with her finger for Nadia to follow. Thinking for a moment, she quickly looked behind her and then ran back out to get the journal. Her father’s journal. She snatched it up off the ground and was about to grab her back pack, when suddenly out of a hole in the wall, Jason appeared. “YOU!” he cried out, seeing the woman he had been hunting all this time. Nadia threw the backpack at him, and with only the journal in her hands, she raced back inside the temple, where the image in the picture was smiling. She was nodding as if to tell Nadia to hurry. Not really thinking, she ran straight into the watery landscape, where she felt the cold sensation as her body seemed to turn into liquid before being thrown out on the other side. Nadia landed with a loud thud on the ground – her mirror image was gone, however she was now dressed like her image had been. Even her hair was different, all curly and bound up with a golden hair ribbon. She was now wearing a long white robe that was tied on her right shoulder with a golden seal, and her feet had on sandal like lace up shoes. Gasping she looked back at the watery image and slowly saw it dissipate as Jason was seen running around the temple looking for Nadia. Finally it was gone, and they were both now in another time….another place. Ancient Greece. “Oh…heck.” she said, till she realized she was still holding her father’s journal. Not all was lost. <3>

IceTe3a: **Groans** rolling on his back, he rubs his head slowly “Fuck me dead, what a trip” he said out aloud as he groaned again, it took him awhile as he opened his eyes he could feel a warm wind blowing through and softly caressing his face it felt like a mid summers breeze as he looked around he noticed this wasn’t the temple, sitting up he looked, he was in a bedroom a large bed spun with white silk and pillows an armor and weapon rack to one side and a clothing rack full of females clothing on the other, like a his and hers bedroom he could smell the scent that could only be smelt in Greece by the smell of fresh flowers flowing through the air “Ugh how’d I end up on mainland, where am I…” he said as he came to stand up he noticed the other female standing there and looked her over it was Nadia.. but.. different, it was that reflection version of her “Right, where am I, who are you and what have you done with me!” he demanded as he towered over the female as he came closer, his muscles flexing into place as he hadn’t noticed he was only wearing his red cape and his traditional Greek shorts all else was bare skin and somewhat scarred as his toned muscles were there for the world to see. Noticing she was holding the Journal that could mean only one thing.. “Nadia?!” he said as he picked her up and hugged her close to him before setting her down. Turning around to get his bearings he looked out the door that lead straight to the outside, “Huh this door leads straight outside weird for a bedroom to have a door like this but not so much in ancient times, lets the air flow through” he smiled as he walked past her and checked the other rooms coming back shortly he arched a brow “We’re in an ancient Greek house a rather large one to be exact..” he chuckled slightly as he walked back to her and sat down right behind her he leaned against the walls. “Last I remember.. I touched that liquid and fell through.. I saw a pair of hot legs.. and then I woke up” he chuckled as he reached out his fingers gripped her robe as he gently pulled her down to sit on his lap and lean against him, she as much as him would need someone they knew close to them right now to get over the initial shock of it all. “So.. you’re best guess? And the journal what did it say?” he rubs his forehead as he leans his stubble covered chin against her soft shoulder and sighed in relief.

CharlotteCarrendar:- The dazzling light shone through the open door way and christened Nadia’s face, while the gentle warm breezes teased her curls, as she rose to standing. All around her was furniture and clothes from a time far removed from the modern era. Slowly, Nadia turned around so her mind could take in everything she was seeing. A rack of women’s clothes, stores of armor and weaponry. A large canopy bed and seating that was fashioned with woven fabrics. It was rich, opulent. Clearly whoever did live here were well to do and high up in society. Still clutching her father’s journal, she looked down at her own attire – a nervous hand running along the cloth, touching it to get a sense for the delicate fabric. She even picked up a lock of her own curls, and marvelled at the luxurious feel. Even her own scent had changed as though she had bathed her skin in exotic fragrant oils. Her skin was sun kissed and smooth. Her hands were without calluses or cuts like they had been from the dive back in her own time. Everything about her was different. She was just getting over the changes, when she heard the rumble from the man beside her. Oh this was the man that she had seen in the image on the wall. He looked so much like Dante, and when he opened his mouth, he sounded like him too. “Fuck me dead, what a trip” He said with a groan. He spoke English and he swore like the modern day Dante. Only thing was when he saw her, he thought she was not his Nadia. He came at her, looming over Nadia like a giant, and an angered one at that. Demanding to know who she was, until he spotted the journal and pieced together that she was in fact HIS Nadia. Enveloping her in a tight hug of reassurance she mumbled that she too had found herself being swallowed by the liquid picture. Only when he had pulled her down onto his lap and nursed her as he struggled with the enormity of the situation did he then ask about the journal. Carefully she flipped it open and she saw the very temple that they had entered, along with a mirror. “I…think we passed through the doorway to this world.” No kidding. Glancing up at Dante she then said. “If my Father knew about this, he must have been here before.” Chewing her lip, she looked around for other signs of life. “What if he is here…somewhere?” This would mean venturing out, but in this world, they were not themselves. First things first. “We need to find out…who we are.” <3>

IceTe3a: He smiled as he felt her back press up against her chest, her weight pressing down on his body was a strange reassurance that he had been getting used to through the times they have been together, he watched as she flicked through the journal and said they had passed through a portal back into time, this reassured his already guessed theory “I agree we are back in ancient Greece, this house, the weaponry and your clothing all state this” he said the last part with a smirk as he whistled at her “Your looking good Nadia” she looked exactly like herself just dressed in different clothing and her hair styled differently. Nadia stated that her father might be in this world somewhere and that they would have to try and find him but first they would have to figure out who they were. He nodded in agreement “Look, we not only need to figure out who we are in this time, but act like them too otherwise we’ll be caught out in the act. Last thing we need is trouble” he smiled as he grabbed her waist slowly and pushed her to a stand, he came up to stand behind her as his body pressed hers he gave her one last reassuring hug as he walked to the middle of the room and picked up the sword and shield with ease, he started swinging the sword around in between his fingers doing different tricks “Heh, I think I was a Spartan in these times” as he placed the sword in its sheath on his waist and the shield slung around to rest on his back, reaching down he grabbed his traditional Spartan helmet and placed it on for a moment taking to a Spartan warriors pose to try and pull it off. Taking the helmet back off he placed it on the Armor rack sitting in its right place he arched a brow as he walked over to the other side of the bed and looked at the female clothing “Huh.. I was with someone in this life” it took him a moment as he clicked .. His reflection was staring at Nadia’s reflection as she had her arms wrapped around his arm as slow as he was to come to this realization he knew Nadia being smarter would have already figured that one out. As he slowly looked over at her he rubbed the back of his head slightly his cheeks slightly starting to go red “Ahhh…” he said as he crossed his arms again “erm..” he didn’t want to be blunt about it but he wanted to see if she had come to the same thing, Giles had already known that Dante fancied Nadia, it was obvious to Giles and Dante knew that Giles knew his feelings for her were growing slightly, but it wasn’t that obvious was it? “So erm.. you don’t think Ancient Greek me and you.. I mean, erm” he coughed slightly as he glanced back at her “Looks like we were living together and stuff” he chuckled slightly as he rubbed his head once more.

CharlotteCarrendar: – Dante let out a loud wolf whistle as he took in the new look Nadia in her Grecian clothes. It actually made her blush some that he found her attractive in this time. Her cheeks showed a growing redness as she cast her eyes down and twisted her toe into the stone floor. She gripped the edge of her robe and swung her shoulders from side to side, much like you would imagine a school girl finding out that her crush had a thing for her. “You don’t look half bad yourself.” She mused as she let her own eyes dance right over his very well built form. Muscular, and with a outfit on that showed an awful lot of leg. Nadia had to admit he wore it well. Closing the book, she set it down on one of the tables, before folding her arms and then watching as Dante took up one of the swords. He swung it around effortlessly – like it was a toy to him almost. The sword was rather large, and to see him wield it like that made her wonder just how strong he really was. But the best part was when he placed on the helm. He looked like one of the warriors out of 300, and this had Nadia giggle with amusement. “I had no idea the helmets were so ornate.” The brush of red across the top made him look even taller than he really was. “It’s like you are ready to march off into battle.” Dante was quick to point out that if they were going to find out who they were, they needed to act like Ancient Greeks. Now, that might be a lot harder to do than first thought. Nadia’s range of the Greek language was limited. She started to wonder if she should claim to have laryngitis. Thinking of how they could pull this off, another thought sprung to mind and this in part was due to Dante’s sudden realization that HE had someone in his life as a companion, and when it dawned on him who, he became incredibly nervous. So erm.. you don’t think Ancient Greek me and you.. I mean, erm” Nadia’s face was one like a fish out of water. Everything pointed to them being in a relationship. “I…I only see one bed.” She said, pointing this out and then looking nervous. “The couple in the mirror…looked very much in love with each other.” That was putting it mildly. Glancing around she had to agree now with Dante that in this world, they were a couple. “You know…we can pretend here. Like…you know. I could…sleep on the couch.” <3>

IceTe3a: He glances at the bed and back at her as he nods “right so we were.. are a couple and no, what if someone came it that be hard to explain, this will have to be the real thing” he nodded as he shrugged it off coming to walk over to her to reassure her he cups her cheeks softly and leans in, planting a kiss without warning as he kissed her passionately, the kiss lasted for only a moment before he pulled back “Wasn’t that bad was I?” he smiled as he took her by the hand and led her outside to see the new world they found themselves in, they find themselves outside as he pulls her in front of him and wraps his arms around her gently as she pressed against his body. He glanced around the open plains as they stretched on for ages, the sound of men and females training, as workers did their trades it was a typical ancient Greek town. Fully self sufficient and ready to battle this indeed was Sparta as he watched people walk by and say hello or gave a nod, he arched a brow as he realized they were actually saying Hello, but Ancient Greeks didn’t know English.. “Did you hear that guy say hello?” obviously the portal they came through must have allowed them to fully understand and speak Ancient Greek, just what was going here. Pulling her back inside he turns to face her “Ok this is real stuff, let’s look for clues in our house shall we?” he arched a brow as he walked around the room and hit the floor hard first place he started to look was under the bed before coming out and going into the next room, you could hear rustling of papers and stuff as he arched a brow “Who would need all this reading material” he sighs as he comes back into the room with his hands full of scrolls and a female armor suit, it was quite revealing “Not telling me something?” he smirked and arched a brow as he threw the female leather armor at her feet gently with a chuckle. “Looks like you knew how to stand your ground, perhaps you were… a more dominate female, head female?” he chuckled as he shrugs “Suits you, oh and there’s a bath back here like the one in that temple” he disappeared back into the bathroom that was filled with hot air and steam rising, the smell of beautiful oils were in the air, this room was meant for bathing and relaxing as he continued onto the next room which was obviously a kitchen and dining room. Full of hanging herbs and meats, with vegetables stored in places “Traditional Greek cooking, oh yes please!” he walked back to Nadia and smiled “This place is awesome!, we’re on top of the hill looking down at the main town. Looks like we were some bodies in this place, a few neighbouring houses but they’re not that close that they can hear us” he chuckled and shrugs “Maybe if we yelled at the top of our lungs they would” as he shrugged he asked the obvious question “Are we known as Nadia and Dante in here or something else?” he wondered if she had found anything out whilst he had been exploring, he looks around and sees another door in which he opens it up and finds a rather large room with animal skins all across the floor a fireplace, a table with a giant map of Greece on it and lounges “Obviously the strategic and study room” he smirks as he glances back to Nadia “Bet we’d spend a few nights in here” he chuckles and walks back to her.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The sound of the leather and metal of the female’s armour hit the floor at Nadia’s feet, and she was quick to scoop them all up into her arms, but curious about the idea that she was a fighter back in the ages of the Ancient Greeks. The very idea that she would fight men like Dante as a Spartan had her almost swallow her own tongue. Her fingers ran across the textured leather gauntlets, and she could tell that this was specially made to fit a specific person. Her. Turning on the ball of her right foot, she went over to a screened area and going behind it she decided to try the armour on. Slipping off her robe, she hung it over the top of the screen, but with the sheerness of the fabric Dante would be able to see her female form like a silhouette in behind it. One thing that Nadia was shocked about was that she had a six pack. Her stomach was like a washboard, and this shocked her. Even her arms and legs were slightly muscular. The fitting of the pants that were cutting right up her outer thighs, and then the brazier like top that left nothing to the imagination had her giggling again. No one in her college would have dared believe to see her looking like this. With leg guards and gauntlets, she finally stepped out and was clipping on the red cape behind her as she showed her new look off to Dante. “Tah dah. Okay I look the part, but can I actually fight?” She questioned, as she reached for a large sword and tried to pick it up. Sure enough, she was able to wield it with ease. Cutting through the air, the metal blade whistling in harmony with its owner. Nadia let out a laugh as she went into a series of fighter stances, then piroted and danced across the floor, slashing and swiping at an imaginary opponent. When she finally came to a stop, she uttered. “I make this look good.” Her smile was infectious, and she sheathed the blade, before going off to find Dante, who had reached a study chamber, that had maps and fur rugs littering the tables and floor. “So this is what a den looks like in Ancient Greece. Nice.” She added, only coming to see the piles of scrolls and parchments. It was like whoever livedt their knew a great deal about the town and the people. She picked up one and it was a list for a tournament being held within the village. “Did they do sparring in this era? Or just march off to war?” Nadia was genuinely curious as she handed Dante the parchment. <3>

IceTe3a: Watching her pick up the armor she walked behind a thin layer of paper just her shadow could be seen on it as she stripped down he arched a brow and gave another sexy whistle, “Dana na! na! nana!” he started to sing a cheesy stripper song as he let out a cheeky laugh, he walked over towards the study but not before he got a quick look at her without the shades covering her as he passed by and went back into the den. He was looking over the strategic map as he started to read a few of the notes “Looks like we’re the heads of this town, I think I might lead our towns army” he chuckled as he looked on the map where they were “Sparta.. We’re Spartans! “he chuckled as he remembered the movie that was so cheesy. He could hear her doing something in the next room as he took a peek he saw her practicing with the sword as he smiled lightly and snuck back into the den, cute he thought to himself as he looked out the window and smelled the food of the town, there must be a market place down there “Oh god that food smells good” he said as his stomach grumbled demanding him to eat Greek food. He watched as she came into the study wearing the full armor outfit he whistled “Damn, you make that look sexy, I don’t know which I’d rather you in that or the robe” he smirked as he looked around the den “Indeed this is a den” he chuckled as he took the paper from her and read it “Mhm, sparring was a daily occurrence for Ancient Greeks especially Spartans, they were born to battle, they train daily. They’re a warrior clan but there are scholars as well. Even the females were feared throughout Greece” he smirked as he chuckled and grabbed her by the hand leading her into the den he sat her down on one of the couches “Even though you have to fit the dominate female part, that doesn’t mean I want you getting into physical fights” he was being protective over her as always as he smiled down at her and gave her a reassuring hug “Now, what’s next? Shall we study some more, or go explore the city a bit” he smiled “We could go get some proper food into us, you can experience true Greek food, and we can both explore this new world slowly while we find your father! We just have to act our parts.” He smiled as he gave her a wink and pulled her up quickly so her palms would find their way to press against his chest along with her body.

CharlotteCarrendar:- Drawn up to standing quickly Nadia found her hands pressed flat to Dante’s chest. He gave off this noble air and at first she was awestruck of him behaving this way. Hell if this was a romance novel, she wouldn’t be putting it down for a week. His protectiveness shone through when he told her that he didn’t want to see her get into many fights if she could avoid it. Nadia had to admit that she was a bit nervous about the whole deal of being Spartans. “Okay, well you can do the fighting and….I will be your cheer squad.” Her face showing a bemused smile, but she still felt the warm tingle of her lips from when he had kissed her so passionately earlier. Could it be she was herself falling for him? Play acting being a couple was only going to cement this further. But first things first. Dante was hungry, as his stomach had protested just a few moments ago after they both smelt the lingering scent of someone’s cooking. Possibly from a market place nearby. That in mind, Nadia nodded and answered Dante in his quest to know what to do first. “Feed you. I am sure you are dying to try some Ancient Greek food. We just need to find where they keep their purses or…gold and then go shopping. I have a feeling Visa card won’t work down here.” That being a joke about how dining out in the modern day was sure to be a lot different to this era. Then Nadia looked down at her own attire and asked. “Think its cool for me to wander down main street dressed like this?” <3>

IceTe3a: He smiled and looked down at her as her fingers pressed up against his skin, he gives her a quick hug and then pulls away as she starts to state she’ll be his cheer squad he laughs and shakes his head “That’s right, I’ll protect you” he glances around the room as his stomach rumbles again “Ugh, I hope they have some goat cooking!” he shivers at the thought of proper Greek food as he hadn’t had any since he was with Nadia. She stated we’d need money to buy food as he chuckled “Don’t know that much about Greeks huh, They’re more than likely to feed us for free and decline our gold, Greeks are extremely friendly like that and when it comes to food, they’ll always feed anyone for free.” As he walks over to the bed and shoves his hand behind the pillows he pulls out his hand clutching a leather satchel full of golden drachma, tossing her the coin bag he smiles “You’re the female so you get the gold, that’s how it is. Remember 3 drachma can buy a full goat and 5 drachma is a lot. So it’s like 100$ for 5 drachma. 1 Drachma will get you all the food you could ever eat in one sitting and then some more” he nods as he walks over to her with a smile on his face, he links her arms around one of his as he guides her outside onto the hilltop that overlooked their city. Taking in a deep breath as the warm summer breeze blows gently against their skin, the mixed aroma’s of the foods and flowers tantalized the senses as his hues gave over the sun golden plains and blue skies. The town was bellow them as a dirt trail lead from their house, past the neighbours houses a few meters away and down to the town. “Come on!” he said excited as he pulled her along the dirt trail gently, they casually strolled down the dirt track as reached the start of the main town, the screams and shouts of men training and sparring could be heard only to have the blacksmiths bashing on his anvil drowning it out as they passed it. Potters, bakers, fishermen, clothing, furniture and more was all created and gathered from the townspeople, each town was more than self sufficient but each town had their own specialist as Sparta was renowned for having the best warriors in all of Greece. Finally what Dante was waiting for, as he came to where he smelled the food. Popping his head in with a cheeky grin he heard a older lady scream “Ahhh!! Dante, Nadia!! Come in come in!! what brings you down here, sit sit!!” a shorter and slightly larger older lady around the age of 50 comes rushing towards the two and cuddles them both as she invites them in. “Hahaha!” he grabs her by the cheeks and kisses her forehead as he would his own YiaYia (grandmother). She pats him on the back with a big smile as he leads Nadia in to sit down next to him “I could smell your cooking from up at my place, I couldn’t resist!” her face lights up with the biggest grin as she walks up to him and pinches his cheek “Oooo you’re a growing big boy, you know what’s best for you eh!” she smiled as she looks over at Nadia “Oh Nadia so beautiful, no wonder you stole this one’s heart. So feisty the two of you but you so skinny. You need to eat more, come sit I make you food” she rushes off to her kitchen which was in the same room “Grandma, don’t encourage her like that, I’m starving and she won’t feed me!” he played the sympathy card as she turned around “Aye wadda mater with you, you better treat her right or I’ma smack your head in, Vwap!” she smiled and wiggled her finger at him “Of course grandma!” he smiled and turned to Nadia giving her a kiss on the cheek, which was returned with a squeal from the old lady “Ooooo young love, so beautiful. Come come sit. I make you goat slovaki eh?.” She was quick on it too as she threw down two oversized plates with perfectly seasoned and cooked goat, Skorthalia, tzatziki, pita bread and a freshly cut lemon. Dante stared at it for just a second as he felt a smack across the back of his head “whats wrong eh? You no like my cooking? Eat eat!” the old lady had smacked him for not digging in fast enough. “No no, I love it! I was just distracted by the smell, It’s been so long since I’ve had your cooking. I missed it!” he said as he started hoofing down the meat shoving it into his mouth and half chewing it as he swallowed, dipping it into the skorthalia sometimes and sometimes the tzatziki, “Ohh your so kind to me, both of you. You know how to make a old lady happy!” she smiled as he glanced over to Nadia and looked from her to her food to point out she should eat.

CharlotteCarrendar: – With the gold satchel tied to her waist, Nadia was happily escorted from the house on the hill down the winding dirt path till finally reaching the village below. It was like something out of the set of a movie almost, but real. Everything was so colourful and vibrant. The very senses were being treated royally, and so many faces with people of all walks of life living in harmony. There was no modern technology, no cars, no buses, no people walking around like zombies glues to their phones. People here actually talked and interacting with each other on a level that Nadia was about to find out would be even more incredible, when their names were sung out by an older lady who rushed out of her home – arms wide open to embrace them both. Dante got right into the spirit and acknowledged her as though he had known her all his life. The woman’s face was illuminated by a huge smile as Dante expressed how it was her cooking that brought him down from their house on the hill. She even clapped her hand over her mouth to suppress her laughter when the older lady called him a growing boy. He was more than grown in her eyes. Nadia took her hand away when the woman told her that she had stolen Dante’s heart. Had she really? She glanced at Dante and smirked before nodding in agreement, having trouble keeping up with the fast pace talking. Was this what Greek families were like in general? She had not had much to do with her Father’s family so this was a bit of a shock to watch. Invited in and made to sit by Dante, Nadia took her place, only to have large plates crammed with food placed directly in front of her. It was a hill…no a mountain of food. She had not seen that much food on a single plate in her life. Looking around for cutlery, she then heard the whack as the woman struck Dante on the back of the head for not eating fast enough. Eek…was that the punishment? Nadia quickly mimicked Dante and picked up a piece of meat and dunked it into the skorthalia. Placing it into her mouth, she made a sound like she was having an orgasm. The food melted in her mouth, so delicious. “Oh God.” She exclaimed, reaching for another piece. She was in seventh heaven. Nadia was not going to have any trouble putting this meal away. <3>

IceTe3a: He watched Nadia’s expression as she tasted true Greek food for the first time, her face said it all as he smirked and looked at the old lady nodding over to Nadia “I think she might like it more than me” he said as he looked down at his plate he was pretty much done. The older lady laughed and waved him off as she started to go red in the face slightly “Ya ya, here eat eat” she filled his plate back up and smiled as she pulled out a glass of fresh water and placed a lemon in it for them both. “ Grandma, this is beautiful! I have to get you to cook me some fresh pasta sometime” she nodded her head in excitement as she rushed over and kissed his forehead “anytime anytime!!” she was excited they had come over to visit her, and even more excited that he was enjoying her meal. “what’s your secret eh?” he gave her a cheeky wink as she smiled and placed both hands over her heart “Love, lots of love in my cooking just like any Greek” he laughed and shook his head “Not any Greek can cook as good as you” he stated as his mouth was full of goat meat. The meat itself was so tender it fell apart at the touch, and had a almost sweet flavour to it as it melted in his mouth. After a while he finished off his plate and leaned back rubbing his stomach as she smiled. Pulling out a pipe and stuffing tobacco in it she lit it and gave it to him as he smelt it and thanked her, taking in a drag he blew it out with a sigh of relief as the tobacco was a lot sweeter in these times. He looked over to Nadia and smiled as she had just finished her plate, he looks over to the old lady who points to the rest of the food, typical Greeks over cooking leaving way to much left over “What you want me to do with the rest eh?” he smiles and nods out the door “Would you bring it up to our place and leave it in our cold storage for later?” she nodded and got up as she started pulling out more foods and cooking again “First I cook you more for later then I take to home okay, okay” he sat up and walked over to the old lady giving her a big hug and a kiss on the head she patted his arm as she was too busy with her cooking to care “You go now? Ok I busy cooking. I bring more food later.” She smiles and gives him a hug before going back to her cooking. He walks over to Nadia and grabs her by the hand gently and starts to lead her outside “You take care of her eh? Or ima smack you silly!” he laughs as he leaves the door “Cya later grandma!” walking back outside he lets out a big sigh of relief as he stretches “Now that’s food!” he said as he looked back down to Nadia and smiled “Shall we? Where to next?” he waited for her to take lead.

CharlotteCarrendar: – Stepping out of Dante’s grandmother’s house, Nadia felt so full that she actually belched loudly before covering her mouth. “Scuse me.” She said, blushing fiercely. Nadia patted her full stomach and then let out a huge sigh as she was overwhelmed by the meal she had just eaten. Dante wanted to know where to go next, and this was when Nadia pointed down the road to a place where you could see men training in the arts of swordsmanship, as well as wrestling. Excited by the sounds of shouting and noise she was really wanting to see the men fight up close. Reaching for Dante’s arm she said. “How about you work off that meal by showing me how you fight against the likes of the Greek solider, hmm?” She was actually daring him to get into a spar match for her amusement. Walking down through the town and coloured market stalls, with young children playing on the street and vendors shouting out about their wares, they drew closer to the fighting arenas. One in particular had men seated all the way around, chanting and cheering at the two that were in the middle. The clash of steel rang out loudly, and the men were dressed very similar to Dante. Coming to a stop near the entrance, many men looked up and saw the couple. A loud chant started, chorusing Dante’s name. Urging him to come in and take up a blade against one of his men. <3>

IceTe3a: She had pointed to the arena, which surprised him at first than she stated he should fight to work off the meal he just ate, he smirked and looked down at her “Are you calling me fat?” he chuckled as she basically dragged him along past the town and the market stalls, they were getting closer to the arena cheering and shouting could be heard as they walked in there were two men fighting with swords in the arena, a friendly sparing match but no blows held back as always. The crowd was going off then the two fighters stopped and looked up at him and Nadia, the crowd glanced over and started cheering then chanting his name edging him on to fight in the arena. Nadia basically pushed him forward as he stepped down and waved the crowd off “Alright you bunch of bloodthirsty beasts” this was met with a roaring laugh from the crowd of men as he left Nadia to stand on top of the stairs he looked back at her and blew her a kiss. His feet hitting the sand of the arena he thrusts his fist clenched up into the air “Spartans!” this was met with a rather loud “Haroh!” as they all stood up and beat their chest with a clenched fist before taking a seat down. “Who’s willing to fight me, hand to hand??” he smirked as one man came down, and put his hands into the air as the crowd cheered. Suddenly someone shouted from the crowd “Make it an interesting fight! You are the son of a god after all!!” the crowd cheered again but louder as two other men came walking down and stood next to the other one, he arched a brow and looked back at Nadia questioning what the other man said in his mind. He took his stance as he already knew very well how to fight in the ancient Greek style of Pankartion. “Come on then!” he shouted as he growled slightly, the first man the larger of the three pushed the other two back, wanting to claim victory for himself as he came directly at Dante. “Go Arthos! Hit him hard!!” Arthos came in fast with a right swing towards him, he grabbed his right hand with his left pushing it away as his muscles bulged out, his right fist follows through smacking Arthos in the jaw as blood came spitting out then it was on for young and old, Arthos landing a clean hit to the stomach, Dante landing a clean hit to the rib cage on the side. “Enough of this get in there you two!” the other two came in to take on Dante so all three would have better chances, he had to even out the odds as he grabbed Arthos’s next incoming blow and flipped him straight onto his back hard, following down with a deadly right blow that clipped his face breaking his nose and dislocating his jaw. Arthos the first to be knocked out as the crowd cheered, the last remaining two started to work Dante’s sides with a volley of punches as he stood there arms up taking the blows, funny thing the hits didn’t hurt as much as they should. It was almost like soft blows but he could see they weren’t holding back. A loud roar escaped his mouth as he swung his open palms on either side of their heads forcing their heads to collide smashing into each other as they stood there dazed. This is where Dante went to town on them, standing in between them he nailed the first one with two solid gut shots as he turned just in time to counter the second ones blow, throwing a upper cut it caught the guy under the chin and sent him flying off his feet back into the sand. The last guy gripped Dante from behind as he tried to squeeze him into submitting, Dante lent his head forward and sent it back with force, feeling the back of his head hit the guys face as he let go fast. Dante turned around jumped into the air as his legs gripped around the guys neck, twisting he locked the man’s neck in between his legs as they both fell to the ground. The guys hands scratching at Dante’s legs trying to get free soon his body went limp as he passed out. Letting go Dante came to a stand as the crowd cheered “SPARTANS” he cried out loudly as he was covered in the blood of his fallen comrades they all stood up even the ones that were defeated and started chanting “Haroh! Haroh! Haroh!” he walked up the stairs towards Nadia as people slapped him on the back, he looked like nothing had happened as he hadn’t even broken a sweat, the other 3 did looked injured but hardly looked fazed or even in pain as they continued to brawl around between the three of them. He made it up to Nadia and planted a kiss on her lips with forceful passion as the crowd watched on and cheered the second they kissed.

History: Born high in the standing of Lord, his parents would die mysteriously leaving Lord Horne to be raised by many nannies and tutors that were provided for by the family estate. A keen alchemist, who dabbled in the dark arts, soon made a fatal mistake, in a formula that he had been working on as a teenager, and soon his form was no longer able to be viewed by others. He became known as the Invisible man, and no longer could venture into society circles. Many thought he was dead as his estate fell into ruin.

Fueled by anger and hatred for all those that had served him, he came to do a deal with the devil himself and thus his taste for souls came to be. A murderous rampage would sweep across London, with only a card left in place of the bodies. A simple “X”

He learned ways in which to slow the aging process and bring it to a halt garnering the support and devotion of one Heiress. The Countess Sassoon, who would later discover that her deal with the Invisible man would cost her far more than she was ever willing to give up.

Tepes Mansion

https://i1.wp.com/img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/Blackcat666x/IMVU/River%20Marked/timthumb_zpscaa7eca5.jpg

Vlad stormed into the mansion, a man on a mission. It was silent through the house and he wondered for a moment where his compatriots were. He sent out his senses to search the house and found only one other person in residence. As the signature wasn’t familiar to him, he knew that it belonged to Danika…the person he wanted to see the most.

He took to the stairs, traversing the steps as if he were simply walking up a hill. It didn’t take him long to discover which room Emilia had designated for Danika’s use, he could smell her scent all over the door handle. He could have easily just barged into the room as it was his home he’d given her sanctuary in, but he was first and foremost a gentleman. He knocked twice.

“Who is it?” he could hear the woman ask.

“It is Vlad. May I come in?” There was silence on the other side of the door before the latch clicked. He pushed the door open and stepped into the room. Danika was laying upon the bed, reading a magazine, but she sat up when he stepped into view.

“Good evening, sir.” she nodded. He closed the door slowly behind him, the creak it emitted sounding ominous before turning to face her.

https://i1.wp.com/img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/Blackcat666x/IMVU/River%20Marked/5c2fbe98-dcd9-44a3-99b2-a5e62643fdf5_zps33c2b0d6.jpg

“Oh come now, Danika.” he chuckled, darkly. If Emilia had been present, she would have known that his chuckles never meant anything good. “You’ve been a guest in my home for nearly a week. Surely we’ve gone beyond such formalities?”

“Yes…I guess.”

“…” he arched an eyebrow.

“…Vlad.” she mumbled but he easily heard it and clapped his hands in delight.

“Wonderful. How are you settling in, by the way? Is the room to your liking?”

Danika looked around her surroundings.

https://i0.wp.com/img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/Blackcat666x/IMVU/River%20Marked/5f9100e8-2e6e-422d-b8d1-8f8bb2707606_zpsf7d7f7ee.jpg

“A bit…bright…for my taste but it’s growing on me. Thank you for its use.”

“And are you getting enough to eat?”

“Yes. Your manservant checks on me often.”

“Ah…Robert is very loyal to me. Much like my Generals, he has been with me for quite some time.” He moved deeper into the room, walking around with a casual air. But only anyone close to him would notice that his casuality was a disguise. He was here for answers to his questions and he would get them.

He turned to lean against the low bureau, striking a pose that made many a woman swoon; ankles and arms crossed, proudly displaying his masculine form and pouring on the sex appeal. Though Danika was a ruthless creature, she was also a woman and was similarly affected by his presence. He could smell the freshly drunk blood rushing through her veins as she caught his dark scent and her eyes flared with lust.

Perfect! he smirked to himself.

“So…tell me…how exactly did you end up locked in the basement. I really didn’t believe that story you gave me, to be honest.”

“Oh…well…I was being punished.” she admitted. The expression on his face indicated she should continue. “My former sire…caught me when I was eavesdropping on something important. I was supposed to be his most trusted…yet he didn’t trust anyone beyond himself and his dark daughter. The bastard.” she snarled. “He’s the one who locked me up to feed on rats and bugs.”

As she was speaking, Vlad was moving toward her until he sat beside her on the bed. She nearly jumped out of her skin when he ran his fingers along her arm. She gulped frantically when he leaned in to sniff at her neck.

https://i0.wp.com/img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/Blackcat666x/IMVU/River%20Marked/d346da88-3051-4789-9c26-57110cd15d78_zps028b1cf8.jpg

“What was your sire being all secretive about?” he whispered, his voice hypnotizing. He trailed his lips along her cheek and her breathing became ragged. “You can tell me. He can’t hurt you here.”

“I-I-I…” she stammered, her eyes falling closed in the wake of his seduction of her senses.

“Danika. Tell me, pet. You can tell me anything.” His voice had gone deeper and darker and his eyes changed to the red of his vampire. His fangs elongated, scraping across the skin of her neck and shoulder. A small amount of blood welled up and he brushed his tongue across it, tasting her and pulling her further into his web of deceit.

“It was the location…of the final resting place…of the Elders.” she moaned.

“For what purpose?” he hissed, licking along her jawline.

“Mmm…uh…to drink…the blood of an Elder…would grant its user the…mmm…power…to…walk in both…day and night…” she whispered.

That caught his attention and quick as a snake, his fangs were in her neck. She cried out at the shock of it and succumbed to his advances. Through her blood, he gained her memories of the event…

Memory:

Danika moved about the house in search of Vincent, wondering why he was hiding himself from her. Hadn’t she given her all to him? Why did he choose to be with his “daughter” and not her? It was disturbing. She heard voices coming from the den and turned in that direction. The door was slightly open and she could see the firelight casting shadows along the wall. She heard him speaking and was about to enter the room when another voice made her pause. He was with HER again.

“Are you sure of this, Father? If you were found out…” Bridgette murmured.

“Do not worry, my Treasure. No one shall find out. After all, it would not do to share such power with those more inferior to you and I.” Vincent chuckled. Danika glared at the wood of the door.

“Where is this place again?”

“A tomb in Egypt. This map…” there was the rustle of paper or parchment, Danika couldn’t tell which. “…is said to lead straight to it without tripping any traps that may be there.” There was a thunk of something heavy being closed. “There…safe and sound.”

“We have company, Father.” she hissed. The door was thrown open and Vincent loomed over her, anger etched in every line in his face.

“Bitch.” he hissed, grabbing her around the throat. She was thrown against the wall where she fell into unconsciousness…

When she next awoke, she was locked in a dark basement and after trying the door and discovering it was thick steel and locked from the outside, she yelled in frustrated anger. “VICTOR!” she roared…

Vlad pulled away from Danika with a final pull of her blood. He sat back with a grin, thinking over all that he had learned. He stared down at her corpse, watching as it slowly disintegrated away to dust.

“Hmm…I wonder where this safe place of Victor’s is.” he murmured to himself. He turned and strode from the room, making a mental note to have the room cleaned. He had work to do.

Shane’s office

The soft light of Shane’s desk was cast just slightly out of the office door, as he was working very late at night on some cases that he had been neglecting. Finding the solitude of his den being breached by the ever increasing number of vampires that were living or not, under his roof he found himself going back to his old office just for some peace of mind. Shane had gone through something of a transformation, from the ruthless man he was to one that was more…domesticated. He did much of it out of love for Carmen and yet in a sense he felt he had lost a bit of himself. Much of the anger he held was for someone that was no longer in their lives. Vincent. And of course who could forget Isabella. Shane had not broached the subject of his relationship with Isabella to Carmen, as he felt that it was bad manners to speak of old flames – and no one was older than Isabella. The damage she inflicted on his past life, his family to this day still haunted him, and yet he tried to go beyond that. He had Carmen, his brother and his sired ones. He had a coven, though it was more one that belonged to Carmen as she was the true and rightful Queen.

Across from his desk sat the chess set. The same one he used to sit at for hours, plotting the demise of those around him He even had Carmen on the board as his future Queen. But now that he looked at the board and all its pieces were back in the starting places, he realized something. There was still two Queens. One of black, one of White. Two Kings….but with Vincent gone there should be only one King. At least…that is what he thought. The image from the news station of the coffin like box on the platform with the word “Tepes” made his skin crawl. He kept trying to dismiss it, but something niggled the back of his mind. Like a creeping death approaching from unseen shadows. Taking a sip of his scotch, he looked back at his papers, and then the computer beeped shrilly. Shane tapped a few keys and then an image appeared on skype.

“Sir…you’re not going to believe this.”

It was Nelson, Shane’s own private investigator whom he hired to get the low down on suspects and people on trial. He was standing near his car at Vincent’s Estate. Shane’s brow knitted as he set down his scotch.

“A little late at night to be playing Nancy Drew, Nelson. What are you doing at Vincent’s manor?” His voice dropping a tone as he waited to hear what the detective had to say.

“Remember that ballroom, the one with the wall that had that painting untouched.”

“Yes of course, what about it?”

“We took the painting down, Sir….and uncovered a safe.”

This definitely piqued Shane’s attention. ~A safe?~ He thought.

“Untouched, Sir. Not damaged in any ways. I have organized an old buddy of mine to crack it open, I figured you might want to come down and see it yourself.”

“Damn right I do. I’ll be there in forty five minutes.”

https://i1.wp.com/37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnd86labPJ1qfe06vo1_500.gif

“Yes Sir.” The screen went back to the skype symbol as Shane logged out and then shut down his computer. So, that son of a bitch was hiding something after all. The painting. Of course. Keeping whatever it was safe right behind his throne, that had long since been burnt to ash. Shane got up from his desk and reached for his coat, which he slipped on and did up the buttons. He hadn’t been telling his beautiful wife about his investigations for fear it would simply stir up another hornet’s nest not long after the coven trashed the house. It was not like he was being secretive, but more like the old Shane was back to his old tricks.

~An hour later~

Pulling up in the driveway of the ruined manor, Nelson was waiting just outside the derelict entrance with a smaller built man in a long over coat and boots. He wore a woolen cap and carried what looked to be like an old medical bag from the forties. He was about 70 years old and his face was scarred from years in many institutions. The night air had a slight nip to it, and the safe cracker mumbled about wanting to get this done, so he could go home to the Missus and his fire place. Nelson was trying to settle him, but then straightened as Shane approached.

“Sir, this is Benny Todds, he is one of the best crackers in the business. Done some fantastic robberies in his time.” If that was supposed to add weight to his abilities, it simply amused Shane. He cracked a half smile and then gestured for the door. “Let’s just get this safe opened, and we can all go home.” Nelson nodded, and the trio went inside, where Nelson had set up flood lights in the damaged former ballroom. As Benny walked in he was shocked by the scale of the damage. “Must have been some party.” Shane, who walked with his gloved hands behind his simply said. “Oh you have no idea.”

The painting had been taken down and set to the side, which left the safe now exposed. Benny rubbed his chin before setting down his bag. “They don’t make beauties like this anymore.” Clearly the safe was of a ripe age, and would be difficult to crack. Shane glanced at his watch, as Benny set to get his tools of trade out of his bag. Huffing, he leaned against the safe, and tapped it with his knuckles. This made Shane glance at Nelson who simply shrugged. The old man must know what he was doing. Least that is what they both hoped. Chuckling, the old safe cracker started to sing a song, as he worked. He was enjoying this too much. The safe was of a make he had only ever heard about, and this was the first time he had the chance to break into one. He viewed it as a challenge, more than anything. Benny took out a stethoscope and placed it around his neck, before placing the ear plugs in his ear, and then resting the pad to the safe door, as he started to turn the knob. Again chuckling more, he then reached into his bag and took out a small drill.

“This one is going to run into overtime.”

Shane didn’t feel like being caught out before sunrise and hoped the man could be a bit more diligent.

“You can open it before sunrise?”

“Oh, I think I can.”

Shane rolled his eyes, then took out a handkerchief and patted his brow. Oddly, the waiting was making him perspire.

https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSZMHVGe1z53ZP22vT9TbSjLDsm4S5lEIkOZjWYoGG6-lcpS9FtbA

Benny started to drill a small hole into the safe door, which took some effort. He grunted as the metal shards flew out from the point of the drill’s impact zone – a nice sized hole forming. Taking out the drill he set that aside, and then placed in the hole a special wire tubing, that was connected to a tiny monitor. It was a camera, that allowed the safe cracker to see inside the workings of the locking mechanism. This safe was made well before the age of modern technology, so to have something invade its inner workings would make it easier for the safe cracker.

Now with the camera in place, he went back to listening as he turned the nozzle, and sure enough the clicks engaged with the locks inside. One by one, each was falling into place as the safe cracker hummed to himself. It took another thirty minutes, till there was that sudden shunting sound as the last pin fell into place.

Benny pulled back his camera equipment, as well as the stethoscope and then turned the handle. The door…came open.

He stood back and started to pack away his things, while Shane was given the rights to be the first to look inside the safe. At first, there were boxes of jewels, necklaces, bonds and piles of money. But buried beneath it all, was something totally unexpected.

Shane pulled out a rolled parchment scroll that had Egyptian lettering and symbols on it, along with a box made from stained wood with blood colored symbols. The safe cracker held his hand out to the Private investigator for payment, which Nelson obliged, giving him a wad of about $5000 dollars. Benny was chuff to see that kind of money and pocketed it into his coat. He tipped his hat to Shane and the Detective, before ambling back out to his beaten up old car, no doubt pleased to have gotten the safe open, and now able to go home to his wife and enjoy a nice cup of tea – and plan a vacation.

https://i0.wp.com/www.leijonstedt.com/wp-photos/20080312-033448-4.jpg

Nelson looked at the find, and then wondered why there would be Egyptian artifacts in a Vampire’s manor.

“Well, that’s some pretty odd treasure if I do say so myself.”

“Pity I don’t read Egyptian hieroglyphics.” Shane said with a frown. Whatever it was, he had just uncovered yet another mystery…and one he planned to find out more about.

[center]Josephine wished to spend more alone time with Johan in hopes that he would choose a life with her when they were approached by a stranger. Turning to look at the woman in black curiously, she fell silent as she wondered what she could want. Johan was an attractive man, no doubt. Would it be harder to keep him than she thought? Listening to the woman’s words, the dancer had no idea what was being offered to them. Johan explained that he had no money…but Josephine came from money. She had plenty of her own as well as the option of asking her father for more. But what did this woman want with them? Stepping closer to Johan, she offered a smile as she nodded once “Perhaps we ought to go somewhere and speak privately?”

https://i2.wp.com/i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p545/kaleidoscope3heart/Candice%20Accola/tumblr_lyto26NvQw1qid0xqo1_500.gif

Flicking her eyes to Johan, she then leaned in and whispered “Do you understand what it is she is asking? Can’t we just run away together?”

(changed Malise’s fc to Olivia Wilde cause she has the exotic look I’m going for)

Malise frowned slightly as a contract was thrust in front of her. But she did agree to appease the jubilant man. Scrawling her name across the bottom, she then looked up and raised an eyebrow “My name is Malise Barishnikov, as you can see on your little piece of paper. I’d like to have a moment to myself, if you don’t mind.” Now that she belonged to the Opera House, she expected a room of her own to find comfort in.

Glancing around for Josephine, she let out a long sigh. The dancer must have found her lover and was now having her happily ever after. But what was in store for the siren now? Stepping along the stage, she drank in the sights of her new home. Had she made the right decision? But it didn’t matter anymore. She had sold herself to the life she once feared. Glancing towards the conductor, she smiled slightly “My room, please?”

The woman behind the veil, seemed so intent on making this strange deal with the pair, that Johan actually took a step back. He reached for Josephine’s hand, and then with eyes that showed indecisiveness he replied to the Countess.

“As much as I am honored that you would think to offer us such a generous gift, I am afraid that I must decline. I have only just found my love again.” Here he paused, and brought Josephine’s hand up to his lips, kissing it softly – his eyes only for her. “I want to speak with her and discuss our future. If you could excuse us both.”

That said, he led Josephine away from the Countess, who stood silently. One could not see the flash of anger that swept across her veiled features, and just as well.

Taken behind one of the long curtains that were to the left of the stage, Johan pushed Josephine up against the stage wall, and kissed her neck lovingly. How he had missed her delicate scent, and the suppleness of her flesh. Bringing his face out to the light, he asked.

“I did not trust that woman, and I didn’t want to put you on the spot, my love.” Gently he raised a hand to her right cheek and caressed it.

“But what are we to do? Where are we to go if we run away together? How will I support you?”

It was an honest series of questions.

The Dressing Room

One of the stage hands – a dwarf named Bertie, ambled out and tipped his hat to Malise whilst wordless gesturing for her to follow him down to where the dressing rooms were. He was dressed rather simply. Woollen pants, shirt and bracers, with a tiny andy cap on his head. Bertie walked with a slight limp, turning back only to wave to her to follow him down.

Deep within the bowels of the Opera house was a long corridor with all the dressing rooms and design rooms, rooms for the dress makers and for props. Coming to the end of the corridor, there was one room, that had to be opened with a special key, that hung on a chain around Bertie’s neck. He took it off and over his hat, then placed the old key in the lock. The door creaked open, and the dwarf stepped back and ushered for Malise to enter.

https://i1.wp.com/25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_liddydwj7e1qarrqqo1_400.jpg

If she was to enter the young Siren would be in for a shock. The room had not been used for so long, that there were cobwebs and other nasty things hanging from the ceiling. Oddly enough however, the candles were lit and on the dresser was a scroll that had tied around it a red bow and a single red rose.

There was a note tied to the parchment, that said.

“Welcome to my home.”

Who could have left it, and what was written on the scroll?

Josephine watched silently as Johan brought her hand to his lips. She instantly felt eased by his touch and the wariness she felt towards the lady in black seemed to melt away. Letting out a calm sigh, she smiled encouragingly to her lover, showing she would back him up no matter what he decided. However, it seemed like he was keen on having a moment alone with her.

Allowing him to lead her away, she was then pleasantly surprised when he pressed her against the stage wall to kiss her neck. Closing her eyes, she favored the feel of him and let out a soft sigh “Mmmh…” Her mind became cloudy and muddled by his touch and she had to take a deep breath to collect herself. They had much to talk about, after all…despite the fact that she’d rather touch him than speak with him.

As Johan expressed his concerns, she nodded her head thoughtfully and murmured “Mmh…she was rather forward, wasn’t she? Though I can’t possibly imagine what she would want with the likes of us. We are complete strangers to her…and with enough problems of our own.”

https://i1.wp.com/static.tumblr.com/pnr68ws/NOqlxthnu/tumblr_lxro79tn2s1qk3mkvo1_500.gif

Reaching up to touch her hand to his on her face, she let out yet another sigh as her eyes searched his face. What he was asking was fair, and the questions really did need answers.

Was she willing to leave her father and comfortable life behind to dance here? She would be close to Johan…but could very well lose her father. Was it all worth it? But as Josephine looked into Johan’s eyes, she found it hard to believe she had to make such a choice. She wanted the happiness her mother had given to her father. Would Reginald understand?

“No…we will not run away. We can make a life for ourselves here. Me…you…and this opera house.” Josephine smiled up at Johan, all innocence and hope shining through her eyes.

Dressing Room

Malise turned towards the dwarf and quirked an eyebrow, a look of curiosity flashing from her bold blue eyes. She did not look down on the dwarf as though his status was beneath her own. Instead, she looked at him with keen interest as she took in his clothing. Wrapping her black shawl tighter around her shoulders, she bowed her head politely towards him before following him to her dressing rooms.

As they walked past various rooms, the siren looked long enough to take a quick look without prying. There was no need to poke her head around and cause waves in her new surroundings. However, she was a bit surprised when they were at the end of the corridor. The dwarf needed a special key to get into her room and this sparked even more interest. She watched silently as he pulled the key from his neck and let her inside.

However, when Malise stepped inside…she stopped short and took in her surroundings. Seeing all the cobwebs and bleak disarray, she let out an amused smile and shook her head briefly.

https://i2.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lh08eqlTEj1qbr7ey.gif

“Well…this place has a charm all its own, doesn’t it?” Though she no doubt would be sneezing from all the dust for days, the mess did not alarm Malise in the slightest. Her own room at the Bizarre Circus was nothing fancy and needed a complete make-over with her first month’s earnings before she was even remotely comfortable.

Turning towards a flicker of light, she then noticed the scroll on her new dresser. Walking over cautiously, she gazed upon the writing and squinted her eyes to read it better. After reading it, her blue eyes flicked to the rose. Picking it up slowly, she held it to her nose and smiled, breathing in its perfume scent. She did love roses…

With the rose still close to her face, she spun around slowly and regarded the dwarf “Pardon me…but did you see who left this?” After a moment or so, her eyes then lifted to the ceiling as her smile turned friendly “And could I perhaps have a broom?” She certainly had a lot to do in her room…

Re: .:RP:. The Opera House

Outside the Opera house.

Countess Sassoon swept out of the entrance of the Opera house, enraged by the antics of Johan and Josephine. How dare they refuse such a noble gesture from a lady such as herself to help the up and coming dancer and his sweet girl. Waiting for her on the street, was a dark carriage that was at least a hundred years old if not older. Drawn by a team of four horses. Black in colour. The driver was a masked man, that was waiting to open the door for the Countess. He snapped his heels together and bowed, as she entered the buggy, closing the door with a light click before going to take his place in the driver’s seat.

Inside the buggy, the Countess began to remove her veil, and what one would see was a woman of absolute beauty. Perfection. As though created by the very angels themselves. She didn’t look a day over twenty one, yet her clothing bore the distinct era of one much older. The Countess was not alone in the buggy, for sitting directly opposite, was a man whose entire face and hands were bandaged. He wore dark tinted spectacles, and on his head was a large black hat. His coat was a long one that went full length to the floor, with dark tanned riding boots that matched his pants. In his hand, a cane with a jeweled top. He was clearly a man of wealth and power. He grumbled darkly at the Countess.

“Where…is the boy?”

The Countess let out a sigh as she banged her gloved hand on the side of the carriage, to alert the driver to go. With pursed lips she then inhaled sharply through her nostrils. Having to explain her failings was going to be unpleasant.

“I almost had him, but that damn girl got in the way and he slipped through my fingers.” A light snarl in her voice as she took out her purse, and started to powder her face lightly. The man that sat opposite her slapped the compact out of her hands, and gripped her her wrist menacingly.

“Have I not given you what you dreamed? Are you not the toast of society, while I must remain hidden behind these bandages? DID YOU FORGET OUR AGREEMENT?!” The bandaged man bore down on her, as the Countess cried out.

“Ouch…you’re hurting me.” She squealed, trying to shake free from his grip. He released her but pushed her at the same time. The carriage had now pulled away, to head to the Countess’s estate as the man leaned back and stamped his cane on the floor.

“You…WILL get them into the house, by any means necessary. And when you do…I will skin him alive myself.”

The Countess shivered at the cold words of the Master. “Give me time. That is all I ask.” The woman now begging to be given more time to carry out the deed. The Master snorted angrily as they passed the seedy part of town on the way to the Estate.

“A week…if you fail, you know the punishment.”

Backstage

Johan could only gaze at his beloved with adoration for allowing him the chance to find his feet and be the dancer for the Opera house trope. But that didn’t give them a place to live, all it was was employment, and what of Josephine’s dreams? Surely she had those too. He gripped her hands in his and brought them to his lips.

“We need to find an apartment, something small. I want you to continue with your ballet just as you had planned. There has to be a way we can both have what our hearts dream.”

His eyes were so full of hope and promise, and he believed in her and their love.

“Shall we go and start searching today?”

Dressing Room

The dwarf kindly returned to Malice with a broom in hand and a small shovel. He peeked his head in and gave a sniff, before sneezing loudly. So much dust and cobwebs. But the room had a great deal of potential. This room was once the dressing room of a star that graced the boards of the Opera house some fifty years before. As to why the candles were lit and there was a rose tied to a piece of parchment, the dwarf could not fathom.

http://disneyparkhistory.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/dwarf-2.gif

“The room was locked for the longest time, Miss. Perhaps…it is the Ghoul of the Opera house that has graced this room with his presence.”

If Malice opened the scroll, she would see that it was in fact a song, that had been written by a man who only signed the music sheet with an “X” Another mystery indeed. Not only were the notes all written, but the lyrics as well. It was a love song, penned by one that had the gift to put his emotions into the words, the notes so soulful and sad.

Would she dare to sing it?

Genevieve Bianchi’s Bedroom

https://i0.wp.com/www.luxurit.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Country-style-elegant-french-bedroom-500x362.jpg

Genevieve rolled over in bed, yawning lazily as she stretched out in her silk sheets. She had the most wonderful dream…a mysterious stranger was twirling her around the ballroom and was whispering the most naughty things in her ear. Keeping her eyes closed, she smiled a most sinfully delicious smile as she recalled the feeling of his lips brushing against her ear while whispering sweet nothing to her. It wasn’t often she had enjoyed such a…thorough dream…but it was equally frustrating. She had been unable to see the mysterious man’s face but his smooth British accent and suave demeanor was enough to keep her captive. As if knowing his mistress was preoccupied with her thoughts, King Rupert jumped onto her chest. Genny let out a gasp before looking down to see her pet capuchin monkey cuddling into her white lace nightie. Shaking her head affectionately, she reached down and brushed her fingers over his head “I know…I know. It was only just a dream, my dear friend. Come, let us see what father is up to on this glorious morning.”

Swinging her legs over the side of her luxurious bed, Genny stretched her arms over her head before standing up. With her bare feet touching the cool floor boards, she shivered once before padding over to her armoire. After finding a fashionably bold dress, she called for a maid to help her dress. Soon enough, Genevieve Bianchi stood before her vanity getting her thick dark curls pulled and prodded while smoothing pale hands down a red dress. It was quite showy, but as an artist, Genny cared only for colors and style more than a sense of propriety.

https://charlottecarrendar.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/49dfa-011806rossum.jpg

Soon enough, she was dressed up like a doll (just the way the maids liked it) and was turning towards the door. “Come along, King Rupert.” Her loyal friend climbed over her furniture until he was safely on her shoulder and nestled into her thick hair. Closing the door behind her, Genny made her way to her father’s office.

Dr. Bianchi’s Office

Learning at a young age never to disturb her father when he was working, Genevieve waited in his office rather than bursting into the treatment room. He was infamous for his…unconventional treatments and it was far too early for her taste to walk in on such a scene. Strolling back and forth in front of his book shelves, she merely waited patiently to see him come bustling out. Johnathon was a busy man and she was in no hurry to bother him. In fact. ever since she ceased traveling around the world, she found herself rather idle. Bored. Without purpose. What Genny longed for was adventure…

Dr. Bianchi’s Office.

Maid Milly was busy helping Cookie gather herself together after the successful trialing of the steam powered hysteria treatment device. No doubt Johnathon would need to be patenting this contraption before others find out about it and try to steal his thunder. Walking back in from the treatment room, the Doctor had his spectacles resting upon the top of his head, as he continued to make notes over his observations.

“Rapid acceleration in heart beat, heavy moaning, vaginal lubrication to ease on friction, patient’s muscles tensing prior to climax…..and completely satisfied whilst in a limp state directly afterwards. Fascinating.”

Setting down his notepad, he watched Maid Milly walk the dizzy looking Cookie through his office. The Doctor could not help himself but comment. “You have done a great service to the women of London, and possibly the world with your participation, Cookie.”

Cookie smiled weakly and muttered something about wanting another go, as Maid Milly chuckled and led her out the door – right past Genevieve who was busy looking over some of her father’s books.

Looking up from his desk, Doctor Bianchi finally caught on that she was in fact there.

“Sweet Genny. Up with the sparrows I see. Care for some tea?” The Good Doctor offered, as another maid brought in the tea trolley service, complete with warm rolls. The Doctor gestured for his daughter to take a seat, as he started to make her a cup of tea.

“One lump of two?”

Genevieve turned slowly when she heard movement coming from her father’s treatment room. Seeing Cookie and Milly exiting, she smiled slightly and bowed her head “Good Morning, ladies.” Hearing what Cookie had muttered, her smile only grew as she shook her head slightly. It seemed her father was up to his usual tricks early in the morning.

https://i2.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7qjboZ6Px1qhx1yto1_500.gif

Turning towards her father at his desk, she kept her smile in place as she returned the book she had been skimming to its place on the shelf. Gliding over to a chair in front of his desk, she took a seat gracefully and folded her hands in her lap. Tilting her head slightly at the papers on his desk, she murmured “It seems to be the pattern, these days. I can sleep when I am dead, after all.” Flicking her brown eyes up to Johnathan’s, she asked curiously “I am surprised to not see Mr. Blaine here this morning. You two have seemed so busy as of late, especially with that Vivienne woman.” Genny spoke of Viviene also with curiosity, as she herself had a thing for reading her articles. But to see her around her father and the detective so much was rather curious.

Smoothing her skirts down, she nodded once “One. I’m already quite sweet enough, thank you.” She rolled her eyes at her own tasteless jokes and fell silent. It wasn’t like her to pester her father with so many questions and they had the sort of relationship where talking was sometimes useless. That’s what she liked about her father. She could simply be around him without having to fill the space with meaningless conversation. They were both practical.

Re: .:RP:. The Bianchi Manor

Dr. Bianchi’s Office

Genevieve was a child that was bored easily by the mundane lifestyle offered to girls of her caliber. Expected to do the social circles of needle point and endless tea parties that offered mindless chatter from spinsters that had cobwebs in their nether regions. It was suffice to say that Genevieve craved something more, and her usual morning offerings showed that she had yet to find what she was looking for.

In a somewhat witty decline to the offer of sugar cubes to her tea, the Good Doctor places a tea cup on the table nearest her as she had found refuge in one of his many tomes. Johnathon hadn’t missed what Gene had mentioned of being surprised that Mr Blaine had not yet been by this morning. Course, he had taken the lovely Vivienne back to her paper, so Johnathon expected that the Detective would not be back for some time. A sip of his tea and he placed the dainty china cup down on the saucer with a cheerful clink.

“Yes, busy is truly a word to describe our last few meetings. Tis why I was up all night working on my newest invention.”

Across his desk lay scattered the designs of his steam powered hysteria treatment device, and all of these would require being patented. He started to roll each of the parchments up and got ready to stuff them into a mailing container for easy storage. He knew the patent office would be open by eleven, and had high hopes of getting his invention certified and protected. The initial testing and his notes were able to be used as the trialing phase, thus helping with marketing the device after he had let it loose on his clients. Little did he realize that he had created a machine that would revolutionize the way in which specialists treated their female clients, and also create a bonanza of a windfall once it went into mass production. Not that the Doctor cared for that, he was more than happy to no longer have to physically relieve Mrs Peabody.

Popping the cap on the cylinder, the Good Doctor reflected on his newest friend, Miss Vivienne Westwood. He didn’t mind her company, but she certainly got up Reginald’s nose.

“I find dear, that Vivienne is much like you in many respects. Keen for adventure.”

He was right about that, and with the buzzing at the front door, it seemed that a new adventure was just around the corner.

Maid Milly hurried from the kitchen, where Cookie was fanning herself. At the door, she opened it and of course it was the Detective and Miss Westlake, back…again.

“Johnathon in?” The Detective asked, as Milly gestured towards his office.

“Yes, Sir. I believe he is sharing tea with Miss Genevieve.”

Nodding politely, he entered the doorway, with the amused looking Miss Westlake following after.

“Morning Milly.” Vivienne chimed as she went into the Doctor’s office with the Detective.

Johnathon glanced up to see the pair back again.

“Miss me that much, Reg?” Johnathon asked with a smug expression.

The Detective tipped his hat to Genny, and then spoke with all seriousness to the Doctor.

https://i2.wp.com/media2.giphy.com/media/1j8j3ELR8K7Mk/200_s.gif

“We have a new case that needs your urgent attention. Murder on the marshes. There is talk of….of…”

Vivienne interjected. “Night walkers.”

Johnathon’s face was one of surprise and curiosity.

“Night walkers?”

“Either that….or we have a real murder mystery to solve. The yard want us to head out to the Addams estate in Loxley. All expenses paid.”

This was not exactly good timing, as Johnathon wanted to patent his device. Releasing a sigh, he knew that he was needed on the case, and it did sound rather interesting. Setting down his canister of designs, he moved to the door to get his hat and coat, along with his cane. The Doctor then asked Genny.

“Fancy a trip to Loxley? I hear that the hunt out there is one not to be missed.”

Would she accept the invitation to join her father on a mystery?

Dr. Bianchi’s Office

As Genevieve reached for her cup of tea, she smiled slightly at the mention of her father’s invention. It was nice to hear he wouldn’t have to service Mrs. Peabody himself, but it didn’t comfort her at all to know her sighs and shouts of joy would be heard within the Bianchi Manor still. There were just some sounds you couldn’t block from your mind or ears as much as you wanted to. Swilring the spoon around her teacup, she shuddered a bit to think of how Mrs. Peabody must speak of her father.

Silence soon fell upon them both once more as her father began to set about mailing a patent. She watched him move about easily as she enjoyed the tea he offered her. Such was how her mornings usually passed. If she was not painting, taking in London’s scenes, or enjoying the fresh air, she was watching her father work when he was not with a patient. Genny enjoyed the silent company and often wondered what the manor must have been like when she was gone. Was Johnathon even able to get anything done with Levi around? Perhaps. He had always been chasing after Samantha’s skirts after all.

When Vivienne was mentioned, Genevieve set her tea down and smiled knowingly. She had caught up with the journalist’s latest reports and Ms. Bianchi had to admit that she was quite fascinated by her work. No wonder she spent a lot of time with her father and Detective Blaine…there was certainly plenty to keep them busy in London these days. Nodding thoughtfully, she commented “She does very much seem keen for adventures if her writing is any sort of give away. I am actually quite shocked Detective Blaine lets her in on his investigations…though her accounts do seem accurate from an outside perspective. Otherwise you wouldn’t allow her to stick around, am I correct, father?”

https://i1.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwmsvn4EhM1r4rggl.gif

Genevieve was waiting for an answer when who should arrive but the Devil himself and his loyal concubine. Genny giggled quietly at her private mental illustrations before bowing her head in greetings towards Blaine and Vivienne. “Good morning, Detective Blaine. Miss Westwood.” She was about to question Vivienne about her latest work but soon fell silent when the pair delved into the news about the night walkers. This caused her to raise an eyebrow and listened even more closely as her dark eyes flicked to her father.

As usual, she was silent during the whole conversation, though she was making her own mental notes. When her father turned to invite her along, her eyes widened a bit in mild surprise. He was inviting her along? Adventure indeed…Standing up from her seat, she smiled slowly as King Rupert stirred from his sleep. Rubbing his cute monkey eyes, he tilted his head at the new arrivals before clapping. Stepping towards the door, Genny only responded with “Well…I best get to packing, shouldn’t I?’Bowing her head once more to the group, she then disappeared out the door and headed to her room to gather clothing and her paints.

Dr. Bianchi’s Office

The Detective was somewhat surprised that the Doctor would be keen to invite his daughter along on this investigation. After all it was a dangerous case, with the talk of Night walkers being responsible for the suspicious deaths of people on the Addams estate in Loxley. Vivienne was practically giddy with excitement, and this too had Reginald bothered. He narrowed his gaze as she spoke with a delightful chime to Genevieve as the young Bianchi went off to pack.

“So lovely to have another woman along on this adventure.”

Reginald rolled his eyes at the thought of calling this investigation an adventure, but to the young journalist, it had all the hall marks of a great scoop and was sure to be one that the paper was going to be putting on the front page. She could almost see the headline now. Basking in the glory, when her Editor congratulates her on a job well done. Something that she yearned for, as he seemed about as encouraging as Reginald the Detective was.

Reginald rounded on Vivienne and stared her down. “I stand by what I said before. I don’t approve of you coming along on our investigations.” His tone was condescending, and it was clear that they were not going to get on at all. Doctor Bianchi popped his head back into his office and looked at both before saying.

“I have the coach ready outside. What’s keeping you both?”

Did he suspect a whiff of romance between the pair. Vivienne brightened and picked up her chin, smiling broadly at the Doctor.“Oh, I’m ready, just getting grilled as usual.” The Doctor thought a moment, and then said to Reginald. “We only have one carriage to take us out to Loxely, let’s try to keep it civil. For my daughter’s sake. I am sure she doesn’t want to hear the two of you going at it the whole way.”

https://charlottecarrendar.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ee24a-sherlock-holmes-a-game-of-shadows-robert-downey-jr-and-jude-law.jpg

It was rare that the Doctor ever pulled the Detective up, but in this case, he wanted to enjoy the trip out with his daughter, whom he rarely sees. The Detective agreed, but he did give Vivienne a stern look before putting his hat back on and heading out of the office. Indeed, a coach was waiting outside, and the Doctor had his bags packed by Milly. Milly had also taken the time to pack a bag ready for Miss Westlake, as she had stayed at the Bianchi Manor many times.

The driver was helping with the bags, as the Doctor stood on the front landing, pulling on his gloves. His medical bag was on the ground at his feet. He had to admit, he was curious about this murder investigation, and was hoping to disprove the existence of Night Walkers. But then again…they may well exist. After all, who would believe there were demons and angels in London?

The Ronin & The Serpent

Part Three

“The War Horse”

https://i1.wp.com/media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/94/29/ca/9429ca43a2007c1d7ce4e96d8ebca34f.jpg

IceTe3a: – Ronin stood there waiting for the serpent to accept his challenge, he could not understand why she was not charging towards him, and perhaps the pain she was in was too great. Suddenly It hit him, literally a arrow fired from behind him had torn straight through the back of his left knee, sticking out through the front He grunts as he feels the raw pain of the fresh wound, quickly he grabs three shuriken tossing them towards the rogue bowman before falling down onto his right knee, glancing over towards where the serpent was he noticed her running away on his horse into the distance leaving him with but one message “To a place where men do not go back on their word” was all he heard as she rode off out of sight. “Damn” was all he said as he snapped the tip of the arrow, then pulled the rest of the arrow through his leg tossing it on the ground, blood gushing down his leg he ripped off a piece of cloth binding the wound after rubbing dirt into it to clog the bleeding. The poison was taking its affect to his body and senses; never would he have let that happen if he was in full form. He needed to get to this snake charmer and get the anti-dote off of him to cure the poison. Coming to a stand he grunts as he shifts his weight to the better knee, making his way up towards Rikkens place, he would have to tell the surviving guards what was in order next and what to do with Rikkens place, he would have to find the warlords lands, and retrieve the daughter he would not allow a second female to be stolen even if he just met the young lady. She may think she is in love with the warlord’s son, but could she truly love someone who killed so many innocent bystanders amongst her father and friends? He did not believe she would, she would be shocked about what happened and was taken against her will.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Wedding that never was. Carnage. Blooded bodies, crying children, weeping widows. It was a scene that would break the heart of many a hardened man. The guards that belonged to the Dragon had taken flight after massacring a good number of civilians. The monks were mostly operatives of the warlord in disguise. Many had fled, either on foot or rode out on stolen horses, leaving a shattered people behind. Banners of the Dragon were now crumpled in the dirt, and the wailing of the servants of Rikken could be heard well beyond the city walls. Those that had survived were helping the injured, and in the midst of this all the wine merchant was standing with his boa staff. His hood pulled back, and his face ashen with what he had witnessed. He walked the same path of that of the procession, looking for clues along the way that might help him uncover more about those that committed the crimes against an unsuspecting people. “Hmmph!” That was all he could think to utter on seeing the burnt remains of Rikken upon the stairs of his home. He had paid for his sins and his lies, and his daughter was now in the hands of the son of the Warlord. But where was the Ronin? And why he failed? <3>

IceTe3a: – Going through the past events in his mind like reading a book, studying exactly what had happened as he continues to walk the path back up to Rikkens, he could see it in his view but at this pace he would take awhile to arrive. Nothing could have been done differently to stop that situation, the guards were ill prepared for the attack against skilled warriors, It was a shame it had to go down this path. With each step on his left leg slightly lifted but still dragging across the ground, the dirt stiring in the mist of the air leaving a trail of blood splats on the ground he grunted slightly, as the cloth wrapped around the fresh wound started to get bloodied and stained but the dirt he had placed in the wound beforehand had helped clog the bleeding, this did not help the poison though, he was feeling the effects of it as his body was growing weaker. The serpent, A female warrior extremely skilled in her arts, he underestimated her; never to make the same mistake again, what was her story and what reasons did she have for doing this besides being a good soldier and taking orders. Although he noticed she would not confront him head on as she only attacked as a distraction to attempt to escape the situation. Perhaps only following orders, or perhaps something else he could not be sure what to think exactly, he needed to meditate on this.. bells rang in his head meditation, slowing down his heart rate and breathing would slow down the travel of the poison, although in his current state there was no hope of being able to fully do this, but he had to do it anyway, any extra time would help dearly in this situation. Closing his eyes he continues to walk forward his left leg dragging against the dirt covered road kicking up dust, he clears everything from his mind and breaths shallow breaths, it was working slightly, he could feel his heart rate slowly decrease although the poison was working against him it would not help in the long run but it may just give him the time he needs in order to get the antidote. What should have taken mere minutes ended up in a 8 minute slow and painful walk, finally reaching the gates of Rikkens place, he could smell the metallic smell of blood in the air, He would have to deal with the poison first and then bring order to this chaos. “ I need the snake charmer NOW” Ronin bellowed over the crying and moans of the people who survived the onslaught as he stepped through the gates into the start of the garden area where the event had taken place, Ronin was not one to shout but desperate times call for desperate measures. Finally making it in the midst of the battlefield, his pants ripped and bloodstained, his bare chest covered in his blood amongst others as he stood tall his eyes glancing around at the bloodied field as he slightly swayed from side to side, small sweat balls gathered on his brow from the poison, he was starting to feel the effects as he gained a fever, the poison was acting fast.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The sound of the Ronin’s voice brought the attention of many that were laying or sitting on the ground nearby, and one other. The Wine merchant who had been at the stairs of Rikken’s house, he turned and then saw the state of the Ronin. He had taken an arrow to the knee, by the looks of it, and also was looking set to pass out. A blooded stain on his arm indicated he had been struck by another weapon. The Serpent. She had gotten her fangs into the Ronin after all. Deadly..to a fault. The Wine Merchant lifted his boa staff and ran towards the Ronin as he looked about to fall and caught him on the fly. “I need a surgeon….and that Snake Charmer!” The Snake charmer, who had been sitting up against the wall, with his basket of snakes raised his head slightly. Wearing a large hat to shield his face, one could not see the smirk that lay beneath. He was wearing a red robe with golden stitching and matching sandals. Part of the circus troupe, he was not one of the Warlord’s men but merely paid to place the snake on the son of the Dragon – a known enemy of the Warlord’s house. “She bit you too, eh?” The Snake charmer said, pushing himself to standing and dusting off his coat. The Wine merchant was in no mood for attitude. He was holding the fallen Ronin and tore out the dart. Holding it up, you could see the tip was discoloured from the blood stain on his skin. “What did she use?” The Wine Merchant said, knowing time was of the essence. Sidling up to the pair, the snake charmer brought out a small vile from beneath his jacket and handed it to the Wine Merchant. “The antidote. It will cost him though. Fifty silver coins.” Making a bargain with a dying man was poor form, by any sense of the word. The Wine merchant seized the vial and spat back – “I will pay you, after this works.” Thinking it may just be alcohol and not the antidote at all. The Snake charmer shrugged, and watched the Wine merchant administer the vial to Ronin’s lips. “Drink it, Son.” The Wine Merchant urged, as now a small gathering of children watched, before a doctor made his way through the throng. “How bad is he?” The Doctor asked, looking to strip away the blooded strip of cloth from the Ronin’s knee. The sight beneath was horrific. “He needs a transfusion.” But of course not until the antidote kicked in. All watched the Ronin, to see if the antidote was working. <3>

IceTe3a: – He grunts as his will gives up, getting to dizzy he starts to fall only to be caught by the wine merchant from earlier, who was he exactly, he was no ordinary merchant but Ronin did not have the energy to question the man. He listened to the conversation that was being held in front of him, the snake charmer showed himself asking for payment for the antidote if there was one thing you could trust in it’s the greed of mankind, the snake charmer proving this point. Ronin was in and out of consciousness only catching parts of the conversation, opening his eyes again he comes to find the wine merchant shoving a small vial on his lips telling him to drink, he opens his lips slightly, his cracked lips welcoming the thought of any sort of liquid to smooth out his dry mouth, gulping down the antidote with pain he coughs out aloud, taking a deep breath he sighs with relief having to believe the snake charmer would be honest about the antidote, only time would tell. His eyes fall onto the doctor who was now stripping the self made bandage Ronin had put on his fresh wound, the blood trickled down his leg slowly as he heard the doctor talk about how serious the wound is. “I.. ripped out the arrow… serpent..” his energy was weak but he managed to jumble out some words slowly, as his breathing came to a normal steady pace. He knew the doctor would want to take care of the wound but he had to get the guards up to date and start to prepare to give chance to the serpent “I must give chase” as he went to take a step forward attempting to get loose of the wine merchants grip in defiance.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Wine merchant however would not let the Ronin just try and get away with a damaged knee and suffering from dehydration. His honor and pride at stake, this was clearly driving him forward, but the Wine Merchant would have none of that. “You give chase now, and die in the desert. One does not simply go after the Serpent in your state. Look what she has already done to you.” He spoke with a tone of authority and not that of a simple merchant. It was true; the wine merchant was not at all what he appeared to be. Snapping his fingers, he gave orders for two guards to help assist the Ronin to the Doctor’s home, so that he could be given water, and proper treatment, before setting off on his quest. “A wise man does not rush head first into danger. Patience!” he urged, as the guards both did as were told. There had been enough death for one day. The doctor led the way to his simple abode, where there was a small bed in back. The two guards helped ease the Ronin down, as the Wine Merchant came to sit on a rickety chair, that was beside the bed. “I want his leg properly cleaned, and sewn. Check for breaks in the bone.” The Wine merchant said, as the Doctor got his supplies in order, and washing his hands so they were sterile before starting. Resting his boa staff against the wall of the house, he looked down at the Ronin and said. “You’ve had a busy day. Let us talk more…about this..Serpant.” <3>

IceTe3a: – The wine merchant stopping Ronins attempt to give chase, there was nothing Ronin could do he was to weak to defy the orders of the merchant. Looking down at his wound, in his attempt at moving he had pushed some of the dirt out of his wound, as blood trickled down slowly from his wound onto his leg, a warm streamline going down to the floor. staying put as he heard the Merchant speak ‘ Look what she’s done with you’ he chuckles slightly “ You should see what I did to her” he said as he wondered exactly how she was faring with her fresh wound, she bit him but he bit back. Like a rag doll Ronin was dragged into the doctors home, it was a simple and small house, as he was laid down on top of a table he watched the doctor as he looked around, his wound bleeding slightly as some of the dirt had fallen out. “ The serpant, a female warrior, Skilled in the bow that is for sure. Although she would not fight me directly, I do believe she has skill in the sword. Her poison is to die for” he smiled slightly at the last part as he watched the doctor washing his hands, “Who are you exactly Wine merchant, and what is your part in all of this?” he finally came out with the questions that were eating at him in the back of his head.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Doctor set to task, whilst the two men – the Wine merchant and the Ronin spoke of the woman known simply as the Serpent. He was quick to flush out the wound of the dirt and grit that was used to clot the blood flow, and this would allow him to see clear into the wound for breaks to cartilage or bone. The Ronin was incredibly lucky with the strike of the arrow to not have damaged the bone, but the walk back had aggravated the muscle and cartilage. He worked diligently to get the knee prepped to be bound and packed so that there would be no infection. In the meantime, the Ronin was saying how he faired against the Serpent was nothing at what he did to her. He was proud of the fact that he bit back and hard. The Wine Merchant listened to the tale of the Ronin’s fight, but the Serpent managed to scurry away like a wounded animal leaving the Ronin to die with the poison of her fangs. He leaned back in his rickety chair a moment, and then took out his pipe and lit it as he thought long and hard about this woman warrior. Interesting to note, she did not stay to the fight’s end. Either she didn’t want to kill him, or she had orders to return to the lands of the Warlord. Her mission was distraction, nothing more. The Ronin had asked, who the merchant was. There was a moment of silence, as even the Doctor was curious to know this. Who was a man that looked to be a simple farmer come merchant, yet acted like he was the last Shogun. “I thought I had left all that behind me, but it seems that where there is injustice, I must once again take up my sword.” He shook his head as he slowly removed his pipe, eyeing the young Ronin. “My name was… Tsunayoshi Furuya.” The Doctor stopped treating the Ronin and then gapped at the Wine merchant. “The War Horse.” He whispered incredulously. The Wine merchant sat still, not acknowledging his true name given to him by Generals of the Emperor’s army. He was a legend…now a ghost. <3>

IceTe3a: – Ronin grunted slightly as the doctor started to work on his leg, he made sure his leg would not move in defiance, years of conditioning allowed Ronin to lie still whilst the doctor continued to work on his leg. He heard the old wine merchant talk about the Serpent, Ronin could not help but wonder if he knew where they were going and if he knew anything more about the Serpent that Ronin didn’t already know. Finally the wine merchant let Ronin know his past and who he was, he figured as much, the old merchant was a retired warrior one of legend to be exact “ Tsunayoshi, It is an honor to be by your side, I thank you for your help today” he said in his usual low toned self. He knew the doctor was surprised by the thought of being in the same room as Tsunayoshi and this was no surprise as most thought he had disappeared into legends, “Doc how is my leg and how soon will it be until I can stand again” Unknown to Ronin but the Antidote seemed to have done its job as he had all but forgotten about the venom from the Serpent until he finally realized it was so “I will have to collect more of these antidote’s as I am to face her again in my path of this I am sure. Although I wonder of a long term solution would be possible, Doc Would I be able to build a tolerance to her Poison?” he questioned, this would take quite a lot of conditioning if it was indeed possible. “So what do you know of the Serpent, and where are these lands she runs to hide in, I need to get the daughter back safely to her household, She has lands and titles to look after now.” He said simply towards Tyunayoshi.

CharlotteCarrendar: – Getting over his shock of being in the same room as a legend such as Tsunayoshi, the Doctor did a double take when asked when the Ronin would be able to stand. Mulling this over, the Doctor said. “In three hours or so, then you use a wooden crutch. I suggest if you are to go after the Serpent, or the men of the Warlord, to do so by horse. Walking will take many days.” It appeared the Doctor knew more about this Warlord than most. Tsunayoshi gave the Doctor a curt nod of understanding, and said. “I shall pay for the boy’s expenses, and you shall not be out of pocket.” He then looked to the wounded Ronin. His tone lowered somewhat in respect of the old warrior. “Ronin, it is part of a warrior’s code to stand by those that seek to right the wrongs, and bring justice to the land. After you have rested, I will see to it we have horses and ready to head for the mountains of the Warlord. It is a treacherous and dangerous ride. Many places for the Warlord’s men to watch from sheltered positions. We must be cautious. Already they would be expecting retaliation for their brazen attack, however” At this he paused. “For the Warlord and his family, this has been a most successful strike. Many of the Dragon’s own killed people of this village. That in itself has brought those that were friends to now be enemies. Confusion will only give the Warlord more time to bolster his defences.” That said, he gave the Ronin’s bandaged knee a pat, then used his boa staff to help him to stand. “Rest…for now, I will return for you.” That said, he left the doctor’s house, as the Doctor brought food and water for the Ronin. “You be best to pay heed. That man has saved the lives of over 10,000 men….in one day.” <3>

IceTe3a: – He smiles slightly at the knowledge that Tyunayoshi would be there to help him out in this in devour , although he had stated how hard it would be, Ronin could not wait until he was on his way to face the Serpent once more, this time he would not under estimate her. “thank you again Tyunayoshi” he was very thankful for all the help, although the doctor informing him of having to use a crutch would not do “ I cannot fight whilst using a crutch will I be able to stand once I make it there if I stay on horseback?” he asked the old doctor, as Tyunayoshi paid his respects and left the two to be alone, with promise of his return. “What do you know of the Serpent and the Warlord? Any information would help” he knew the doctor knew more than he was letting on, accepting the food and drink he came to a lean as he started to eat the food with a fast pace as usual, slugging down the drink straight after “thanks for the food doc” placing the plate and cup back down he came to a lay and sighed slightly as he rested, preparing his mind for the journey ahead and the future battles that will take place,

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Doctor became ashen faced when asked about the Warlord. Clearly, he knew much more than he was letting on. Swallowing hard, as he took away the blooded instruments and tray, he set them down near where he planned his washing. With his back to the Ronin, the Doctor said simply. “The Warlord, never goes back on his word.” Now, how did he know this? Was this not the same thing the Serpent had said? Was their more to this phrase then met the eye? Taking up a blooded pieced of cloth, he held it tight in his hands, closing his eyes. “I was once called for, to assist in the birthing of the Warlord’s new son. The birth was difficult, the wife had gone into labour early and the child was breech. I did all I could, but the child…died. As did his wife.” The Doctor let out a sigh as he recalled the events after this. Sniffing, he released the rag from his hand. “The Warlord called me a sham, and said, that he would do to me, what I had done to him.” Looking back at the Ronin, he said with a trembling chin. “They….killed her…my wife, and my …son.” The Doctor’s eyes were brimming with tears. “Eye for an eye. The Warlord never goes back on his word.” Sitting down, he had trouble regaining his train of thought. “Oh..as for standing, you should be fine, after a day’s ride. Working up the thigh muscles.” The Doctor then coughed and wiped his hand under his nose, before falling silent once more. <3>

IceTe3a: – Ronin fell silent as the old doctor told his heart pulling story, the poor man was robbed of his family, just like Ronin. This Ronin could relate to, as he sighed slightly “The warlord and his son will pay for the crimes they have committed your family will be avenged Doc” He reassured that with a firm nod as he sat up and looked out the window, he came back to look at the doctor “And what of the serpent, what is her story exactly?” he needed to find as much detail about her as he possibly could, “Doc do you think you could come up with more antidotes for her poisons? Something tells me we will need them” he said in his low tone as he slowly gets into a position of meditation, he breaths deep and slow calming his body and promotion his body to heal. He never expected to be dragged into a war like this he was only a sellsword, someone hired for his skills in killing, although this path seemed to have chosen him for some reason, unknown to him for now the path set before him will eventually show its reasons for choosing him, this he was sure of. So many questions he needed to ask and wanted the answers for, but he left it at the few questions he had already asked and started to meditate wafting for the old doctors answers, he was reflecting on the past events once more whilst paying attention to the present and all that was happening around him.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Doctor, who had gone into some day time dream was playing out in his mind, the last time he was in the land of the Warlord. The many tents and soldiers all too willing to lay down their lives for the Warlord. A cunning and devious man, but also enigmatic. He had the gift of a silver tongue, the body of an ox and the will of a Lion. Few dared to disobey his word. He had but one son alive. No daughters to speak of, unless you counted….her. “The day they dragged my wife and son before me, this girl – a mere slip of a child with long flowing hair stood at the steps of the Warlord and watched as my wife and son were slain before her eyes. The child…she did not even flinch. No emotion. How could a child be so cold? I was later told that she had been taken as an infant from her own village long before. The Warlord stripped her of her humanity and turned her into what would become..the Serpent. She was incredibly gifted. A natural with snakes and other venomous creatures that crawled and slithered all over her without biting. Also, she could bend her body, like that of a snake, and coil up in a ball. I saw it for myself, as she was to entertain the Warlord, when he was bored with the jugglers and musicians. Now, she is a grown woman, and you have seen and felt her bite.” The Doctor concluded that the snake charmer would know more about the anti venom, and just what poisons the Serpent was known to use. “I would seek him out, before Tsunayoshi is ready to leave.” <3>

IceTe3a: – He nods as the doctor gives him the information he needs to know about the serpent, coming to a stand he had meditated enough to prepare his body to support his leg, he breaths out deeply as he glances down to the doctor, he places a medium sized coin purse on the table in front of the old doctor and bows graciously in respect “Thank you doctor, if there’s anything I can ever do to repay you, please come find me” he bows one last time as he takes his leave, he must find this snake charmer and buy the antidotes needed to fight against the serpent and any information that he may have on him. Last seen the snake charmer was back in Rikken’s place, so that’s where he started to head, he noticed people dragging dead bodies away, whilst others were helping the wounded to their houses, this town has seen some heavy shit in the past night, he could not help but put that burden on to himself as he made his way up to Rikken’s house he walked into the garden area locating one of the guards “ I want this place cleaned up, RIkken’s last wish was that his daughter inherit all his wealth, lands and titles with all the power that came with it. Ronin would not see another young female left alone in the world with no one to care for her, so he lied to set her up so she could have her own life back the way she wanted it, perhaps without the warlord’s son though. He watched as the guard wondered off to inform the other guards of their new duties and who they worked for as of now on. “Has anyone seen the snake charmer I need to speak with him” he said aloud so people could hear him, this was important so he had to find the charmer.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Snake Charmer appeared from behind a large column and bowed to see the Ronin had made it back from the Doctor’s both alive and treated for his wound to his knee. “Ah..it is the Ronin. You must have the spirit of a cat, for you have already lost a life and yet…here you are.” Said with a smile, he knew what the Ronin was after and also where he was heading next. “You wish to buy all my anti venom? Hmm? Smart man are you. Very smart. The Serpent would expect nothing less.” With a snake draped around his shoulder, he approached the Ronin and handed him a small shoulder bag, the contents of which was many vials, all marked as well as a snake bite kit. “You’re going to need this, Ronin.” Glancing around him, the Snake charmer said. “So you think you can get Rikken’s daughter back? Hmm? The old fool that spent the Warlord’s payment for his daughter is always assured of getting what he paid for. Unfortunately for Rikken, you were not able to protect the real prize. Rikken was dying, everyone knew. But the Dragon…oh, that was a clever move. You see, when the people of the Dragon learn that their King and Prince have been slain, they are going to raze this city till it is nothing more than ash. And I for one, am not going to wait to see that come to fruition.” Was it true what he was saying? That even if the Ronin could get the daughter back, would there be a home for her to go to? <3>

iceTe3a: – His eyes meet up with the snake charmer as he shows himself finally, already knowing exactly what Ronin was here for, he watched as the snake charmer came to a stop in front of him, handing him a satchel of antidote vials he takes a look inside and nods “How much is this going to cost me” his eyes glance back up towards the snake charmer “ And I wonder if your vast knowledge in poisons could lead you to telling me a more… stronger antidote?” he was leaning towards a toleration to her poisons or some sort of fix that would reverse the effects, even if it was taken before the venom was imbedded into his body. “Lastly what do you know of the serpent? What is her fighting styles, who is she and where did she learn all of this” he glances at the snake resting on the snake charmers shoulders admiring the beauty of such an intelligent creature, he admired all animals in life. People.. Not so much.. Children he plainly despised, that’s something he picked up over the years, Thinking of people, he would have to find out where Tsunayoshi went off to, perhaps the local pub for a drink which did not sound bad at this point in time.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The Snake charmer merely stroked his python as he listened to the Ronin’s questions about a stronger antidote to her poisons, possibly something that could fix his system or make the Ronin intolerant. The charmer thought the man was mad. “I made antidotes for many species of snakes, scorpions’ even sea snakes. Only one person has an antidote that cures all, and makes one immune. The Serpent, hmm, how do I put this? It is like, she is not even human. Mind you she looks it, but on the inside she has the spirit of the great Snake. Few are alive to tell of the rumors of what they did to her as a small child.” This actually had the Charmer become reflective, for he held a great deal of respect for serpents in general.” He gestured for the Ronin to follow the Charmer to a side room out of ear shot of the servants of the house of Rikken. “I don’t even know if I should be telling you this. You see, the child with no name had the body of a skilled contortionist. Amazed by this, the Warlord put her into a pit with many snakes and one…great snake, the size of which I have never seen before. I was there that day, and what happened is etched into my very memory. The Warlord thought that the girl would fight the snakes, but…” His eyes glazed over for a moment as even the serpent around his neck raised its head, listening to this tale. “The great snake coiled around the child, again and again, and you would think it was to constrict her and break her bones. But instead, it was not that at all. The snake placed its head to hers and as though something passed between them. It then released her and the child simply walked between the snakes, all letting her pass, without attacking, without fear. And that is how she got her name.” At this, the one known as Tsunayoshi, the old warrior appeared. The snake charmer backed away, and turned to leave the two men to speak. No talk of payment was said. <3>

IceTe3a: – Ronin listens to the snake charmers advice; with little resolve of course the only person in the world who had the antidote to make someone immune was the serpent herself. This day just got worse he needed to get a leg up on her, perhaps he would find a weakness somewhere he had yet seen her fight one on one so there was still hope. He followed the snake charmer as he wanted to speak where prying ears could not hear, he told of the story of a little girl being accepted by a giant snake of legends, how other snakes moved out of the way as if she had some kind of understanding with them, was she human at all? Is that why she had no issue with this grievous onslaught of innocence, it would explain a lot of questions that is for sure. The story the snake charmer told of the Serpent was interesting and almost sounded like rumor but the snake charmer swore by it as he stated he was there, “ I thank you for your help Snake charmer I am in debited to you once again” he gave the snake charmer a bow for respect and was going to continue to pry for more information when Tsunayoshi stepped in from the shadows, he glanced back to the snake charmer who was already walking away, leaving the two to be by themselves, but what of the payment for the antidotes? Perhaps he required none, But he would have to pay the snake charmer back someday; somehow. Turning to face Tsunayoshi he nodded in welcome “I am fine do not threat, I have gathered more antidotes for our journey, We will need them I think is safe to say.” As he glanced around slightly he rubbed his chin “What is our next move? Are we ready to give chase?” Ronin was impatient, even though he wanted to help the townspeople seek revenge and get his fight with the Serpent, he had his own goals in mind and still had to complete them both as they were both equally important. Whilst thinking of his sister he pulled out the photo of them and glanced at it for awhile in silence.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The old warrior contemplated what the Ronin asked, and then he put a question to the Ronin. “We are but two men, and you wish us to enter the lands of a powerful Warlord, with an army of over ten thousand. Think of that a moment. I am not as young as I once was, but I know this much. The land of the Dragon will learn of this tragedy against their nobles, and they will want to strike back. Question is, can they be redirected to attack those that killed their leader?” He paused a moment, and then said finally. “A tale of three peoples. A child bride, and a dangerous Warlord. If we are going to have any chance, to return the child of Rikken to her rightful place, we are going to need an army. And as you see, there is not one here.” <3>

IceTe3a: – Ronin understood where Tsunayoshi was coming from and he agreed in one hand but in another his mind was on another goal in his life “ I agree it is not wise to take on a entire army, but we are not going to take on an entire army are we? We are simply going there to retrieve a small girl and kill the warlord and his son, Whilst I deal with the Serpent. They will be too busy looking at the Dragons army, All I see is a distraction, for us to sneak in and assassinate who we must.” He paused for a moment and drew a deep breath “They would not care of two men who are put in the back of their minds, possibly not even known as a threat.” He turns to face Tsunayoshi “ I want to return the young lady, and kill those responsible lastly fight the serpent once more.” Pausing for a moment before continuing “I have a goal in life, My young sister was taken from my family my mother died after giving birth to her, my father died of a broken heart from the loss of his wife and daughter. I live on having that burden on my shoulders I made a promise to my father that I would find my sister and return her into my caring arms so you see I do not have the time nor the patience to raise an army and go to full scale war when there is a faster option” he glances down at the picture of his baby sister and him in the photo, with a short sigh her name escapes his lips.. “Ayame…” he showed Tsunayoshi the photo of them so he would understand before he placed it back into his pocket “So I hope you understand my path in life.”

CharlotteCarrendar: – The old warrior knew of what he spoke, but the young Ronin had other ideas. A dream to be reunited with a lost child, who may well now be a woman. His hopes to go in and assassinate the Warlord and his son, whilst rescuing the girl and dealing with the Serpent, was a huge undertaking. He could not do it alone. Exhaling and then striking his boa staff into the tiled floor of Rikken’s house, he placed a hand upon the Ronin’s shoulder, and nodded. “Then…we leave now for the lands of the Warlord. I have the horses ready.” :: Far from the town of Rikken, in a small tent of the Warlord Army, a woman lay on a stretcher while a doctor painstakingly removed the hira shiruken from her back. All was done without a sedative or pain relief. She silently gripped the edges of the stretcher, as her body shook and flinched as the hira shuriken were extracted. The Doctor was himself trembling as he worked to remove all from her bare and blooded back. “The Warlord will be pleased with the success of your mission, Serpent. He has the girl that he paid for, and you managed to end the rule of the Dragon. Much festivity awaits your return.” The Serpent did not respond, merely gritting her teeth as she played out in her mind a reel of her fight with the Ronin. They had battled, and she fled before ending his life. The next time they met, only one would be left standing. <3>
