Gardens

The Mansion was no fit place for the likes of a Giant. A feared warrior who had felled many a man on the battlefields in the wilds of Scotland. Least, that was what one would think as they saw the sad excuse of a man with shoulders hunched over returning to his part of the Mansion. The Gardens. Oh, it was green and peaceful. Wild animals that were caught up in the dreaded force field were to share the lands with the ginger haired giant.

“I don’t belong here.” Douglas lamented as he trudged along. A branch got caught in his path and whipped around him so fast that it sent a family of squirrels flying faces first into the dirt. All you could see was their wee tails all..fuzzy and standing up amongst the green of the grass and moss.

Taking off his favored pig skin bladder, he brought it up to his lips and tried to squeeze what little drops of scotch remained, but sadly it was as dry as the desert. Douglas tossed the wine bladder to the ground and then found himself a fallen log on which to sit. Few things brought him any comfort in this hellish place. Scotch, and a good yarn. Now after being tricked by the waif like girl in the cellar, and robbed of what few coin he had to buy more, the Giant was feeling a touch sorry for himself.

Oh, he had tried to break through the invisible barrier on the edge of the forest and each time the Giant was thrown back only to land in a heap. It was frustrating to say the least.

“If only I could remember…oh aye….if only.” He like many were lost. Lost to their past…and with not much of a future to look forward too. Looking down at his hand, he rubbed the gold ring he wore on his left hand. Was it significant? Did it mean something in a past life? It was just another mystery. The only thing he knew…was that he was good with an axe. A weapon in the right hands, but to a Groundsman, it was just another tool in the shed.

Douglas placed his hands on his knees and leaned forward letting out a sigh. He wanted to fight…he wanted to do something that would change the lives of people in the Mansion. He longed…for home.

“Come back here, you little..!” Quinn called out, running after Mason. While at first she’d been loud, eventually she’d faded to complete silence.. even though she was gaining speed. Something about this. Something about this chase triggered something. She couldn’t quite place what, instead deciding that she would get Mason later as she spotted her giant friend looking rather down. “Duggie!” She screamed, just a few feet from the giant as she had flown silently at full speed.. that had been his only warning.

Barreling into him at unhuman-x miles per hour, the two were knocked down onto the ground and rolled with large thumps. “Hey, look alive, would you?” A grin as they stopped their roll, the 7-foot tall woman straddling him as though this was something they did everyday.. which, really, they did. A grin accompanied this, though she watched Mason as he slowly returned to them. “You know, Doug, that thing that happens every once in awhile?”

By this, she referred to the feelings of her memories returning, often giving her great headaches and terrible pain. Him being her longtime friend, he knew almost everything about her as she did about him. “I think it’s happening.” Though the whole time he she held a grin plastered on her face as pain began to spread behind her eyes and to her ears.. A couple of minutes or so and she might be on the ground, out for the count. Which, had happened before.

The Gardens

Though others may have been enjoying the quiet surrounds of the gardens, Douglas was like a big lump on a log. Well, he was in all truth. Shoulders sagging and muttering to himself with his heavy accent. Few would understand what it was like to be such a large brutish looking creature surrounded by…short attractive types. Douglas had the kind of face that only a mother could love.

Douglas would have continued to sit and mope upon that log, but turns out that he was the target for his one and only friend, who was rocketing towards him at such speed, that the impact was going to be spectacular.

“What the….?” Famous last words as he was hit with such force by Quinn that it literally knocked the wind right out of him. Over and over they rolled, collecting all manner of leaf litter, twigs and the odd furry creature till finally coming to a stop with Quinn straddling the Giant…as she did.

“Hey, look alive, would you?” Quinn had already picked that Douglas was on a downer. The Giant lay there as he pulled a disgruntled looking rabbit out from under his kilt, tossing it over his shoulder. The Giant then tried to show something that resembled a smile, but with the lack of a few teeth it looked a bit odd.

“If this is living, lassy…I rather be dead.” The Giant said off the cuff, before showing interest in Quinn’s query about that thing…that happens once in a while.

“Ya shagged a vampire? No…no, I jest. What ‘appened, lass?” Douglas now showing a more genuine expression. He knew about the headaches that came when she got flashes of memory, something that Douglas didn’t get.

“I think it’s happening.”

This usually meant one of two things. She was going to scream from the blinding headache…or pass out cold. Either way, Douglas needed to be ready.

“Oh…aye. Right. “ he found it odd however that she always grinned as the pain accelerated. Kinda like she enjoyed it. Either way, Douglas prepared himself for what was coming.

“5…..4…3…2…1.”

Douglas closed one eye, squinting it tight and held his breath watching her.

Mason ran through the forest dodging branches and jumping over hedges as he ran through the forest. Being a little nosy he plugged his headphones in as he wondered what her taste in music might be. Carrying his luggage it was quite tiring as he still didn’t have a shirt on at the time. Feeling the night breeze he continued running as he saw two figures in the distance. Jogging towards them it appeared to be Quinn and someone he never saw before. Jogging up to them he introduced himself with a friendly smile. “Hey, I’m Mason.” Not one to jump to conclusions as he saw the precarious position, he blew past the obvious and continued to listen to what was going on. “What exactly did she mean by that?” Mason thought as he watched the series of events play out. A grin was on her face but it didn’t seem genuine, almost as if it was stuck in place. “Are you alright?” Mason asked just going out on a hunch. Something just didn’t feel right…

The first time this had happened, she’d screamed and held her head, crying in hysterics that she couldn’t see and was blinded. Douglas had been around for that very first one. Needless to say they’d been friends for quite a long time. Though usually the doctor couldn’t do much, only Ophelia could truly help her by taking away the overflow, but the medical wing provided a place to stay and kept the headaches at bay.

Gritting her teeth and locking her jaw, Quinn dug her nails into Douglas for a moment, before looking up at Mason, “I really do apologize.” And suddenly there was searing pain, a hand moving up into her hair and then to her temple, her breathing quick…

And then there was a burst of light. She was running, her paws thudding heavily under her as she watched the woman – well, demon in a human form run away. She knew that it wouldn’t escape her, it was pitiful to try.. and thus she snarled, throwing back her head and howling. The soul was red, it was time.. and with a single leap of all fours she closed the distance with ease, clamping down to the very soul of the demon as she screamed…

Quinn had fallen forwards to the side, almost cuddling into Douglas when she’d fallen to the ground as he’d moved to catch her. Her eyes moved rapidly under their lids, her jaw locked as she breathed a bit quickly while the memory came to her.. When it ceased her eyes stopped moving and she became still, her breathing slowing as she fell into a physical state of sleep.

The Gardens

Given the warning by Quinn made things a little easier for the Giant who had been privy to Quinn’s “happenings” before. This time however they had company. Mason showed up just as things were about to go out of control and the Giant called out to him.

“Block ya ears..laddie.”

Sure enough, Quinn let out a blood curdling scream while Douglas winced in pain from the clawing that the girl inflicted on him as the pain in her head intensified. The girl fell slightly forward as she came down from the affects of the release of memory and Douglas was quick to catch her. Propping himself up, he changed his hold on her so that he would be cradling Quinn as he pushed himself up to standing.

With a good grip, the Giant said. “This is a doozy. Right, off to the medical bay. Only place where she can come out of this safely.”

Douglas wasn’t sure if Mason knew where that was, or even if he had been given a tour of the grounds. He knew Quinn though. Douglas’s kilt swayed back and forth as he lumbered off towards the Mansion. The giant’s concern for Quinn was greater than his own woes, or even that of his search for the coin thief. That could all wait. Glancing over his shoulder at Mason, he quirked a brow.

“You always carry your luggage with ya, Mason?” The Giant asked, wondering just how new this creature was. He had picked up on the name of the fellow when he arrived on the scene. For once the Giant was being polite.

Mason wasn’t sure exactly what was going on as she was in terrible pain. Analyzing the situation Mason couldn’t even come up with an idea on what to do. Hearing the quick advice given to him by the giant he quickly covered his ears. Even through the cusps of his hands he could still hear her wail as she seemed to be in desperate pain and he was helpless in the situation. It slightly infuriated him even though they just met she was still someone that needed help. Listening to the giant he nodded gathering his composure as he tagged along to see exactly was going on. Seeing the giant noticed his work clothes he changed out of in his bag. Flashing a smile as he let out a small chuckle he said “Well no, I went to the gym straight after work. Just a change of clothes.” Looking at the coma induced Quinn he looked back up at the giant with a condescending smirk on his face seeing as it seemed Quinn should get to the medical bay as fast as possible”Just how fast can you run Mr.Giant?”

The Gardens.

“Just how fast can you run Mr.Giant?”

“The name’s Duggie, not Mister Giant!” The Giant roared as he picked up his pace in his race to get Quinn to the medical bay. As his sandal covered feet thundered across the grassy plain, he added with a few huffs and puffs. “Faster than a frog can fart in the dark. Now, get a move on”

None of that probably made any sense to Mason, but the Giant was on a mission. His green and navy kilt was rising and falling as he lept over fallen logs and bounded over rock ornaments. It was quite a sight to see a Giant run, depending on if you were looking up or at a height you couldn’t see under his kilt. Hard to believe a ginger haired giant had hair down there.

Quinn’s body bounced in the Giant’s arms, though he had a pretty good hold of her – she would still appear to be like a rag doll. Her lanky legs flailing about. The Giant had seen her go through this before and it was never pretty. He hoped that the Doctor was in this time, in case her visions would bring about some sort of terrible reaction. It was the Giant’s greatest fear.

He crashed through the doors on the ground floor and sped down the hall, before pounding up the spiral staircase to the floor where the medical bay was.

The Grounds – Forested Area

The trees fell silent as scores of wild birds flew away in fear. The rumbling of earth could mean only one thing. The Giant was now out in the gardens and heading for the wood. His search for the thief thus far had brought up nothing, except a good meal from the Kitsune in the kitchen. At least for now the Giant’s belly was full, but his mind had only one thought and that was to find the girl who took his gold, and wounded his pride.

Douglas leaned against a tree, which bent slightly due to the Giant’s considerable bulk. He scratched his backside through his kilt and snorted angrily. What kind of woman would even have a drinking game with a Giant and think she could win? There were now a lot of questions as to just how she did it. Was she able to drink without any effect, and if so…why drink in the first place?

Thinking back, the girl that was in the cellar at the time acted rather peculiar. How could she have missed the other girl, who must have hung around for a while after the Giant had passed out from the drink. Were all the women in this mansion plotting against him?

One thing was for certain. No one ever escaped the grounds, which meant that it was merely a matter of time before the Giant would catch up with the girl that stole from him. Pushing himself off the tree, which showered down a bough full of leaves, he continued his search.

I opened it!, her sudden outburst caused the demon to flinch and shoot her an awkward glance while he subtly leaned a little bit away from her. Opened it? Opened what, exactly? A door? A door to her memories, maybe? ”…Do you think it will?” He asked, ”Kill you, I mean… What if it does?” Roman peeked at her hands, watching them change their shapes on their own, without her seeming to notice. Creepy indeed. ”What if…. That’s the punishment for trying to retrieve our memories. Death.” He scoffed a bit, well aware that she was thinking out loud and wasn’t paying attention to much.
He was curious about his memories aswell, of course. So far he has only figured out small pieces of himself and he figured it all out on his own. His powers, what he is.. He’s constantly wondering what a thing like him could be doing in another life. A shapeshifting demon… What a concept. He could not have been a good person…Monster. Whatever.
”[i]Hi.[/b]” He mumbled, when she finally came out of her thoughts and remembered he sat there. ”It’s like we all have permanent amnesia..” Roman looked around himself a bit as he spoke, squinting a bit at seeing a flock of birds flee out of the trees, then a rumble.. Was the giant out here already? Had he tracked her down at last? Impossible…He scoffed, slowly getting to his feet. But before he straightened himself up completely, he bent down a bit, one hand on his knee while the other pointed at her. ”Save those thoughts…You shouldn’t talk too much about it, the caretaker will hear you.”
It wasn’t like he cared too much about getting in trouble. However he did care about staying alive, and the caretaker had a scary rumor about her after all. ”We have company now.. The giant is out here somewhere.”

Amaria blinked at Roman then began to get up herself as he spoke of the giant. “You don’t say?” She replied sarcastically to his mention of their new company. “As if the ground shaking wasn’t enough to let me know.” She glanced up at the sky as the flock of birds fled. “We could have continued sitting. If anything, standing now makes us more suspicious.” A pause. “It’s not as if he’ll recognize me, you know. He hasn’t seen this form. And, if worse comes to worse, I can pretend I don’t even speak English.”

She smirked. “Est-ce que tu parle le francais?” (Do you speak French?) Yes, she’d referred to him in the ‘tu’ form rather than ‘vous,’ choosing to address him as a friend might to another. ‘Vous’ signified politeness and speaking to one that you didn’t quite know… not that she expected him to know that. Amaria couldn’t quite place why she knew French, but she did know that she knew it almost as well as English.

“All I know is,” Amaria randomly picked up their previous topic, “I will get my memories back. I don’t know how, but I will somehow. I need to know who I was.” She turned towards the sound of thundering footsteps then, seeming to quickly drop the discussion. She went to her tree again, climbing up it to a branch above so that she was just a bit above Roman in height as she laid down on the branch.

Ah, so she was making them appear as a couple of people merely hanging out. Nothing suspicious in that, right? “I hope you’ve brushed up on French.” She mumbled, listening as the lumbering footsteps of the giant became louder. Of course, she was grinning slyly, though her facial expression turned into a laugh of delight.

This was a game to her, nothing quite more than that. She remained unworried, her form foreign to the foe upon them.

Oh how she got joy from this. Sanity was not her forte.

Grounds – Forested Area

It was due to the Giant’s height that he was able to see that the trees did not just contain wildlife or leaves, but a pair conversing. How…bloody odd. What on earth would people be doing lounging around in trees? Lumbering forward to get a better view it saddened him to see that the female one was not the one he sought. This search for the thief had bore no fruit so far and he was starting to grow weary of it. Sad thing was, she robbed him of his gold, she poured out the best scotch he could possibly ever get and all he was left to show for it was a stinking white frilly pirate shirt.

Approaching the tree, the Giant called out;

“You seen a thieving little git….about yay high….and…jingling with coins that she stole from me?’

He didn’t have a right clue to what she actually looked like, so he was going off what he remembered, which really wasn’t very much.

The Giant stood there waiting for an answer, though he doubted that either could tell him anything. Probably been sniffing the leaves and getting high….or something.

He didn’t feel like sitting anymore. His legs grew restless now and then and he’d wander around a bit, kick a few pebbles… It’s easy to say he gets bored fast. ”Dude, we’re the exact opposite of suspicious.” Roman grumbled with a snort, ”you literally have a whole new face on, new body, new everything. Plus he has never seen me before, has he? I’m an excellent actor and a liar, you’re as safe as the bank, love.” Grinning mischievously, he threw her a playful look, but right afterwards it quickly vanished when she began to speak French. He stared blankly for a few seconds, listening to her… Slowly, he sneered, his nose wrinkled as she squinted at her. ”Sorry mate. French isn’t my area. I know German though, for some reason.” Chuckling a bit half-heartedly, he’d eventually sit back down by the tree- after she had climbed up that is. ”Monkey..” He scoffed under his breath, fiddling around with a couple bracelets hanging loosely around his wrist. ”Woman, getting your memories back ain’t going to be easy… But i’m sure you already know that. Maybe i’ll help, ain’t got nothin else to do around here anyway.” Roman muttered, pursing his lips a bit and then sending the woman in the tree a brief thumbs up when she referred back to the French. Of course, he had not brushed up on the language at all. As a demon he should be able to simply pick up the language and automatically know every word.. But he isn’t quite sure how to just to that yet, hopefully he’ll figure it out as soon as possible. The giant reached them eventually, standing up not too far away. Roman eyed him with one eyebrow arched and, for a moment, a sudden sting of temptation struck him. A classic betrayal, it would taste good to his sinful self but…No, he didn’t say anything about Amaria’s little secret and shrugged instead, sending off a slight smirk. ”Sorry mate, you’ll have to be a bit more specific…” He said, gesturing loosely with his hand towards him. ”Any idea how she looks…?”

Amaria stared at Roman as Douglas appeared.. for a moment, perhaps a split-second, she thought he’d betray her. It was on his face, the words just on the tip of the tongue.. as he spoke a silent breath of relief released from her that, frankly, she’d not realized was being held. “You know, hair color, eyes.. something? I’d really love to help you out here, but you’re a bit too vague.” Accents. Now she took on a Dublin Irish one, different from her original old London speak that he’d first heard. Her lips pursed as she stared at Douglas, almost seeming to be looking through him. Quite unnerving, really.

Especially how she hung off of the tree branch, gazing at him as a monkey might, peering through strands of the pitch blackness that was this form’s hair. “Though not sure why you’d be looking for a thief in the forest? That’s kind of impractical, innit?” For now she hoped to freak him out with the thoughts that she may be insane, her eyes continuing to stare at him unblinkingly. She was almost tempted to use her glamour, to make him turn around and stop looking for her.. oh, but this was quite fun… dangerous, but fun. Especially when she could see his reaction at his returned coin purse. Not like she had much to spend money on here, anyway — there was no purpose.

Grounds – Forested Area

Staring at the girl as though she had something odd between her eyes, the Giant let out a loud grunt and threw up both arms in frustration. He didn’t have the girl’s hair colour or eye colour for that matter. The Giant had very little to go on, and when you add to the fact that he was now searching a part of the grounds that she wouldn’t be seen dead in, he started to doubt himself. What would a thief be doing in the grounds? Pissing on a small hedge? Not bloody likely. No…from memory the girl liked a drink. She liked it a lot. And she was able to hold her own in the drinking game. If there was any place that the girl might end up again, it would be the cellar. But…she would also know that the Giant would be looking for her.

The girl that stared at him from the bough of the tree was also a bit unsettling. The way she continued to stare at him, without blinking. Another freaking loony. Was this whole Mansion filled with mad hatters and sneaky wenches? It appeared to be the case.

Lifting up what was the white frilly shirt, the Giant dropped it from his hand and then stomped on it till it was well covered in mud.

“THAT is what I think of frilly shirts!” he stormed, as he gave a few good jumps on it for good measure.

Duggie realized he had lost his pride, and his gold. The giant had been through enough. He glared at the pair in the tree and then with a raised brow growled.

“What you two lookin’ at?”

Turning on his heel, he stormed off into the distance. He was the grounds keeper after all and had a job to do. Thankfully for Amaria she got away with blue murder….for now.

Kitchen

As Niko approached the kitchens with his new companion in tow, the tension in the air was quite palpable. In fact it was making his hair stand on end just a bit. Luckily for him he didn’t really feel like he had a lot to worry about, the kitchens were his domain and his giant companion was intimidating on his own. He sideways glanced at the baker girl with curiosity as he stepped on into the kitchen, whatever trouble she had gotten herself into with the angry butler were her own problems. Niko could be fickle and selfish like that, sometimes he wanted to stir the pot and other times he wanted nothing to do with other people’s troubles. “This way my friend, ignore the caveman and the damsel, unless you want drama” Niko smirked, waving to Bridgette as he skipped into the kitchen.

Entering the kitchen with his hands on his hips, he narrowed his eyes as he looked around. Even though the kitchen was technically a common area, Niko was very protective of the kitchen and hated when people didn’t bother putting things away or in the wrong spot. When they did it was hell trying to coordinate dinner with the other chefs for the household. Once he decided that his area was in order, he was content to get on with business. Closing his eyes, he began to take in the cacophony of smells, enjoying each one as he gradually filtered through them trying to find the one from the shirt. He stood there a long while in silence before sighing and shrugging his shoulders. He couldn’t pick up a strong scent here so that probably meant she hadn’t been here recently, least of all not in the last several hours.

“I don’t think she’s been in here recently…..” he said with a pout. He figured it was going to be easy to find her, everyone had to eat so her scent should have been there. However it wasn’t strong enough to tell where she came or went from, so it wasn’t use mentioning. “I could use a snack, you hungry?” he perked up, throwing open the doors to the cabinets as he scanned the contents for ideas. Pancakes? Cookies? Grilled cheese? It was hard to decide with so many possibilities!

Playing the Giant – Douglas

The doorways that lead to different rooms were only so high. More than adequate for your average size human, but when you are a giant, they are a little bit on the short side. Following his new companion in the search for the gold thief, the Giant happened upon the small group that included the Vampire butler, the french baker and the other couple, that all appeared to be in a stand off of sorts. The fox had a point that it was probably a good idea to ignore the fuss, since the Giant had more pressing matters, like ringing the thief’s neck. Rather than acknowledge the gathering, he merely sneered at them and turned to walk through the kitchen door way…which he hit…with his head.

“Damned confounded…ill made piece of CRAP!” Yes, he meant the door frame, which had a rather nasty dent in it. The Giant lowered his frame slightly and ducked under the door frame; making his way into the Mansion’s kitchen. The work place of the Fox and the heart of the Mansion.

As one would expect, the kitchen was in pristine condition, thanks to one of the other chefs having cleaned up after the Vampire had made a mess. The floors, bench tops and other surfaces were all spotless. There was the heavenly scent of the french rolls and pastries that the French baker had made earlier, and it didn’t take long for the Giant to find them. In fact, he was about to pop one of the delicious morsels into his mouth, when the Fox declared that the girl the Giant searched for, had not been in the Kitchen’s recently. That meant one thing. She was obviously not a member of the kitchen staff, and thus, she could be ticked off that list of workers.

“Meh!” Duggie blurted as his search in the kitchen would come to nothing. The good part was, that the Giant was a bit peckish. In fact, he could eat a stag, and have room for desert. The fox was offering to cook up something, which really was very nice of him. It was his job after all. The Giant stroked his ginger and silver beard, and then gave a nod.

The hunt could continue, right after he had a good feed.

Sitting himself down on what would be the meat cutting board, the Giant asked;

“Got any baby back ribs?”

Relief. It was a cool and enjoyable emotion that feverishly tore it’s way through the Carpathian when the little maid didn’t just run off at the speed of light. He DID want to apologize. He KNEW he was being a horse’s ass. But at the same time he wasn’t about to just let Sir Lancelot, the name he’d given the guy with the massive hair, ride in and take away his…girl? No. His…
The words failed him as the male seemed to back down and agreed to part ways from there on. Zero’s shoulders seemed to relax but his eyes were still aflame with protection, overly so, and readiness to pounce into action and start throwing punches. Just then, just when he thought that there would be a break and the two would scoot on their way, the little fairy woman met his gaze and decided it wise to step closer.
It was a moment of miscalculation on both ends. The closer she got the more Zero got on edge, like the hair standing up on a spooked cat, and the more tense he became the harder it was to control the urge to snap around and begin breaking things. This overbearing anger he’d lived with for centuries, he didn’t know any better.
The butler shifted slightly, ignoring the new arrivals who tromped right to the kitchen – they were quite wise -, and turned his head to watch the fairy, Alexander now down the hall to his right, the two girls at his left. Then the fairy woman touched Bridgette’s wrist and a warning sounded, a single throaty snarl that broke the silence of the tension riddled hallway.
It seemed like ages but finally the two were on their way, seemingly, and the Carpathian’s gaze lessened and faded back to a golden tint and then the awkwardness set in. He didn’t look at the baker, not wanting to process what had just happened, and decided to kneel down, picking up the loose papers one at a time and seemingly interested in their order, making sure it was numerical.
He didn’t speak.
It was evolving, the raging monster within him was. He’d do whatever this girl said, but she didn’t realize that yet, thankfully. He’d protect her…Which would come off as unwanted help. This he knew. He knew he’d just be lounging in the shadows. It was the only thing he wanted. The closeness. And the only way he knew how to express it was to be brash.
A huff.
Making a mental note to work on his attitude, he kept cleaning up the papers. Finally asking the question that was tearing away at him internally.
“Did I actually hurt you?”

“Ember..!”

Alexander’s tone took that of a slight panicked one as Ember pulled away from him and headed past the vampire towards the other woman. He noticed the tension in the other man rise as he glared daggers at Ember. As she got closer to the baker, she took hold of her wrist, which made the vampire jump and release a snarl.

“Do not dare..”

Alexander shot him a warning through gritted teeth. As Ember spoke to the woman and returned to him, he released a sigh of relief. Taking hold of her hand, he held tightly on to it, afraid she might try to do something rash once more. He began to pull her in the kitchen and away from the other two, just as two other people walked in…well..calling them people was probably not the right term since one seemed to have cat like ears and a tail attacked while one was naturally huge. Leading to him hitting the wall above the doorway as he tried to walk in. Hurriedly he pulled Ember to the back of the kitchen where all the plates, silverware and vases were. Once there, releasing his tight grip on her hand and letting out a breath of relief.

As he calmed down his racing heart, he turned to Ember now with an almost upset look in his eyes, his brows furrowed.

“That was so dangerous and uncalled for!”

He began as he turned to face her. The anger quickly fading through as he took hold of her shoulders and looked her over.

“Did he hurt you by any chance while you passed him? Tell me quickly if i have missed anything he might have done to you. Such a man that treats women with such disrespect cannot be forgiven!”

As he realized that the other two individuals were also in the kitchen having a snack while conversing, Alexander quickly lowered his voice. Releasing his grip on Ember as he covered his mouth, lowering his gaze and turning his head away a bit with a soft apology at his behavior.

Ember was trying to keep calm as Alexander took her in the kitchen. She was still lightly trembling but seemed in a daze. When he spoke she jumped slightly not expecting him to say anything, much less in a loud voice. She looked at him and noticed the upset look on his face. Was he mad at her? Disappointed? She wasnt sure but she didnt like it. Her eyes became watery as she was close to tears. She was still recovering from all the tension and fear and now he was upset with her.

“I had to make sure she was alright. I couldnt just leave her without checking.” She told him. Even her voice was trembling and it cracked. She could see the anger fade away as he grabbed her shoulders.

“He didnt hurt me. He may have wanted to but he didnt.” She said to him. As he let her go she seemed to slide down to where she was sitting on the floor. His grip had kept her up longer than her legs were willing to. On the floor she hugged her knees and put her forehead on them as her tears finally spilt over and ran down her face.

She trembled still with fear and now with her sobs. Something about that mad had terrified her. And it wasnt just how he was but how it felt she had met someone like him. Possessive, abusive, cruel. She couldnt remember who she had met like that. It was in her missing memories. But the feeling that she once knew someone like that, that she had been on the receiving end of the person’s cruelties terrified her.

She had heard Alexander apologize for his behavior but she was crying too hard to speak to him. Too scared of what her past held. But she wanted to know what it help. What happened to her?

Kitchen

“Ribs? As a snack? You’ll ruin your dinner” Niko scolded with a wag of his finger. It was incredibly annoying to slave away in the kitchen making dinner for the entire household, and then someone decided to eat only a hour before so they’re not hungry and a plate goes to waste. Although on second thought with the size of the giant it was entirely possible ribs were just a snack for him, he looked like he could eat a whole cow as an appetizer.

“Fine, I’ll see what we’ve got” he huffed, opening the doors to the enormous refrigerator/meat locker to see what they had in storage. He remembered distinctly coming in to work with the smell of braised ribs the other day, so if there were any left they’d probably be hidden away in here. And if they were all gone, the giant would just have to settle, because Niko did not feel like waiting around several hours to slow cook ribs to perfection.

“Oh lucky you, there’s leftovers” Niko called out, huffing and puffing as he carried a whole half rack covered in foil to the counter. There was no name on the wrappings so that meant fair game in a kitchen like this. He hummed to himself as he ventured over to preheat the oven and from there went to the closet to retrieve his apron, washed and rinsed his hands in the sink, and then set about unwrapping and plating the ribs. Since they’d been in the freezer they needed to thaw for a bit, so that gave Niko time to make new sauce. He pulled whiskey from the cabinet, some ketchup, dark brown sugar and a cup of vinegar from the fridge and mixed them in a bowl. Tasting it with his finger, he returned to the fridge for lemon juice and the cabinet for Worcestershire sauce and added those to the bowl as well. Satisfied with the taste he poured the sauce into a saucepan and began to heat it on the stove. As he cooked Niko seemed to be in his own little world, blocking out anyone and anything else that might interrupt him. His eyes glazed over like he was reminiscing about memories, despite the fact no one remembered anything before the mansion. Once the oven was done heating, he took the ribs out and painted them up with his fresh sauce, he set them down on the counter with a huff of effort.

“Eat up” Niko sighed happily, resting his elbows on the counter and his chin in his hands. He’d get around to cleaning up while the giant ate, but for now he just wanted to bask in the aroma of food. Nothing else made him happier, aside from eating that is.

Alexander was taken by surprise when Ember began shaking, her eyes filled with tears before she keeled down and cried while hugging her knees tightly to her chest. At this point, Alexander looked a bit panicked. What had he done? What did he say?! Should he apologize to her once more? Kneeling down in front of her, he looked to her with sincere worry.

He whispered her name before reaching a hesitant hand towards her and gently pressing it against the top of her head. She was very shaken, and for what reason, he did not understand. He didnt know if he was at fault but…at this point he felt responsible. They were hidden behind the shelving of the silverware and plates, out of the view of the other two in the kitchen.

Bitting down on his bottom lip, he finally could not hold back any longer as he took hold of her shoulders and pulled her against his frame in a tight embrace. The need to hold her tightly and comfort her took over.

“Sh…its ok, i wont let anything hurt you i promise.” He whispered to her soothingly as he gently pulled her in his lap while sitting against the nearest wall. His arms wrapped tightly around her small frame to subdue her shaking.

Ember didnt react to him at all until he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her against him. She let go of her knees to keep from going off balance. Still upset though she gripped onto him and ended up with her face in his collar. She grunted lightly as she was moved, almost like a rag doll, and was placed in his lap.

Him holding her seemed to help her calm down. She didnt feel so alone. And he wasnt hurting her. Though being held and comforted felt very new to her. It took her a few minutes to stop crying and trembling. She coughed as she tried to catch her breath. Her head hurt as well. She relaxed the death grip she had on Alexander but didnt fully let go. “Im sorry.” She said quietly.

She lifted her head and looked at him. Her eyes were puffy and red from the crying. “Im sorry. I didnt mean to upset you. Or worry you. But I couldnt go without making sure she was alright.” She looked down. “That man… The way he acted triggered something. Before I came here and lost my memories I must have known someone like him. Been a victim of whoever it was. I dont understand it but it terrifies me.” She explained. She felt he deserved an explanation for her breakdown. “Thank you for not leaving me to cry alone.”

She took a deep breath still recovering. She became aware of his arms around her. A light blush formed as she looked at him. “Um… Where are the flowers? Th…They need to be placed in water. They’ve gone too long without it already.” She told him trying to go back to normalcy.

The Kitchen – Just outside

Playing Bridgette

The French baker had not ever been the centre of attention before in her time at the Mansion. To feel the girl approach her even in the face of the angered Zero, she naturally shied away when asked if she would ask for help if needed. A slow nod was her only response, for she could hear Zero growling in the back ground, and the last thing she wanted was for him to lay a hand on the other girl. The other gentleman drew the girl back to him, and together they moved on from the scene, leaving Bridgette and Zero alone once more. Another pair had been past and gone straight into the kitchen, but thankfully they knew better than to get involved in the disagreement.

Bridgette released something of a sigh of relief when at last silence had returned. The Vampire Butler’s eyes returned to their ember hue and the knelt down and started to pick up the last of the fallen books pages, one by one. He made sure they were in numerical order and tapped them on the floor as they were finally back in a sense of order. The French baker didn’t leave his side. For some reason, Bridgette felt they had unfinished words to say to the other.

”Hmmph. Did I actually hurt you?”

The French baker did not answer straight away. She glanced down at her swollen wrist and then said. ”Oui.” She wasn’t about to lie to him. ”I…vill get zome ice on it.” Bridgette was about to turn and go into the kitchen, when she stopped a moment and then asked quietly. ”Vhat….did I do to youz?” She was now curious as to why he had acted the way he had. The heat of the moment had passed, and Zero had gone on and on that she had cursed him, done something to him that hurt him. But what was it?

Bridgette felt she needed to know.

The Kitchen

Playing the Giant – Douglas

The Giant pulled open a drawer that was close by to where he was sitting, and withdrew a long metal skewer. Slamming the drawer shut, he started to used it like a toothpick, to clean away at the spaces between his enormous teeth, while waiting to see if the fox could find him some baby back ribs. ~Pick pick pick~ went the metal instrument, the Giant’s head tilting back and forth as he grunted unceremoniously. He could just spy the fox’s tail weaving upward from behind one of the long stream line middle kitchen benches as he searched for ribs. The Giant had to admit, that this little fur ball was actually dutiful and also quite useful thus far. Offering to sniff out the girl using the frilly white shirt, and now actually preparing him a meal to starve off his growing hunger.

”Ahhh, there’s a good laddie.” The Giant sung out, on seeing the whole half rack covered in foil and being placed up on the kitchen bench by the little fox. He’s come up trumps. The sound of the gas being turned on for the ovens meant that this meal was going to be one to enjoy, even if it took a bit of time to heat up. Duggie had decided that the search for the girl could wait a bit – his stomach being far more important at the moment.

Tossing the metal skewer away haphazardly behind him, he drew up his empty flagon of scotch and let out a sigh. ”What kind of lassie wastes a good drop of scotch…I ask you.” He gave the deflated looking bladder a shake, before putting it back on over his shoulder. The Giant’s temper seemed to be cooling. Maybe it was due to the delicious smells that were coming from the strange concoction that the fox was mixing together in the bowl. He clearly knew his way around the kitchen. This interested the Giant, who had only a few loves in this world – one of them being food.

”Ere…’ow long you been a cookie?” The giant asked, as he watched the little fox go about his work. Course the greatest moment came when the fox brought out the ribs from the oven, and then with a brush painted over the glaze on the cooking meat. It was enough to have Duggie practically salivating. With his big hands, he tore off one of the ribs and began to feast upon it. Slobbering and gnawing at the bone like he had not eaten for a good week or more.

”Now this…this is what I call…a meal for a King. Ahaha!” The juices were slowly running down his chin as he chewed heartily. ”You’re a keeper…wee foxy.” That was a compliment if ever he had said one.

Re: Kitchen
August 12, 2014 10:21AM
The Carpathian’s golden hues moved swiftly as he collected the papers, a nice couple stacks going as he was separating them by chapter, for some odd reason he felt like he had to. When Bridgette replied he visibly twitched. He knew enough French to know that meant yes. And he felt the familiar fire, the anger, boiling up inside of him. But this time he had nobody to lash out to. He had done this to himself. He was mad at only himself.
He inhaled sharply and collected the last paper, placing it on top and then putting the chapters together. It looked alright, but there was a trace of red where the blood had to be either gently cleaned out or the paper needed to be discarded. He stood up and held the remains of the cook book in his hands as she spoke about ice and then turned to leave.
Zero assumed that would be it but then she asked him what she had done and he, for the first time, believed she didn’t know. How could he explain this? He set the pile of papers down on the window sill to their right in the hallway. Words failed him. Without the vocabulary it was hard to explain…Color was foreign.
The butler walked to the wallpaper and pointed to a black spot in the intricate vintage looking design. “This..” He said and then shifted his finger to the accompanying gray. “And this…” And then looked around, catching sight of the wall trim that was white, dusty, but white. “…And that. Those..three..and variations.” He sounded like a lunatic. “That was all I could see. Everything was this and this and that.” He pointed to each color in the same order respectively. “There was no…” and then his hand shifted and pointed out the window where the brilliantly blue sky could be seen. “Or…No…” And then it was the green lamp shade of one of the many lights in the hallway. Then to the softer green carpet on the floor. Then to the red on the book. “Then I saw you…And it happened at once. And now I can see everything.”
Well he gave it his best shot.
“I thought it was a curse..But…I am not sure what happened.” He rubbed his head reliving the moment and exhaled. “I…” Zero paused and then straightened his vest almost nervously. “I was scared, with everything being so…bright. And I attacked you, because I blamed you. I’m sorry. It’s all I know how to do. While it was happening I knew I didn’t want to hurt you.”

The Kitchen

Playing Bridgette

For a shy and reclusive girl like Bridgette, it was a great change to see her actually trying to hold a conversation with a man that had only moments earlier threatened her. But curiosity in the man had now been engaged due to his rapid mood changes. He was a kaleidoscope of different emotions that oddly enough she seemed to trigger. What was this connection between her and his moods? She simply had to know.

The Vampire had gone about gathering up the last of the pages of the damaged cook book, in some sense of order, and yet now the girl was staring at him, wanting to know how it was that she had caused him pain. The book was forgotten for now.

As he set down the book on the window ledge and then started to point out various patterns on the wallpaper, to explain how he had only been able to see in black, white and grey; Bridgette came to think that perhaps he had been color blind. How else could he only see the world robbed of the magnificence of color? Her eyes followed each sample he pointed to, and she hung on each phrase as they passed from his lips.

It was when he started to point out the change, how there was no blue of the sky or green of the lamp before he had met her, that she started to see his dilemma. From a colorless world, all of a sudden the shock of the brilliance of color would indeed caused him distress….pain perhaps. But it was the fact that it was on meeting her, that this incredulous change occurred. To the Vampire, it would have seemed like a kind of magic, a curse even. He admitted that it had scared him greatly, and thus he reacted as he had, thinking she had caused this.

Bridgette approached him slowly. Each step perfectly placed. The butler had been more than honest with her right now, and she felt she owed him the best explanation she could give.

She actually reached out and touched his chest with her small right hand. Her fingers lightly pressed to his vest.

“It waz not me….It waz your heart.” She believed that his heart had started to beat again. Whatever she did was not some spell, or enchantment. “You are…zeeing color…because…you velt something in your heart.”

Kitchen

Niko shrugged in response to the gisnt’s question, he couldn’t recall having ever cooked anything before this mansion. “Ever since I woke up here I suppose. I just….already know somehow. I don’t use recipes most of the time, I know by taste or smell if it’s right or wrong” he explained, crunching up and folding the foil into a square on a whim. He tossed it over his shoulder aiming for the trash can but missed. Shrugging again he went over and put it away properly and then headed for the sink to lather up and wash his hands.

For some reason what the giant had said about a meal for a King made Niko angry, the hair on his tail began to bristle and he found himself gnashing his teeth together. The idea of serving a king infuriated him for reasons unknown….hah! Niko serving a king! Absolutely preposterous! That coupled with the way he misnamed his race made him spin about and stare down the giant. “I am NO servant and you are NOT a king! I am a kitsune not some foolish little forest vermin, and I’d soon see proper respect or that meat will turn to ashes in your mouth!” he threatened with a real fire in his eyes. The air crackled a bit when the static electricity began to buildup in his tail, which could only mean the production of fox fire for a kitsune. His features also seemed to stretch and elongate, taking on a more feral and menacing look. It was a subtle change however, almost like a trick of the light, where you had to look twice just to be sure anything had changed at all. The work of his illusions for sure, already painting doubt in the minds of any in his audience.

Niko wasn’t sure why the giants words were setting him off like that, but it just felt so insulting! He was the one who deserved people waiting on him hand and foot, not some pompous human who got their power from decades and centuries of inbreeding! He deserved worship and praise and…..what? Where had those ideas come from? It puzzled and confused the kitsune enough that he seemed to settle back into himself. “I…..will not apologize” Niko finally said, going back about cleaning up the ingredients and cookware he had displaced. “I have a temper and a short fuse, and apparently you’ve found one way to light that fuse. I am NOT a servant, I do NOT serve royalty or anyone else! I am at the neck and call of none but my own desires. I cook in this mansion because I want to and because I enjoy it, and you only get to eat because I am not wasteful, understood?” he declared with a certain air of finality, somewhat like a parent laying down the law for a child. He was nearly done wiping down the counters now and he still held a right frown and tenseness in his body. Whatever he had been and done before this mansion was clearly clashing with the idea of serving others, but Niko had no clue why.

“Can we get back to looking for the thief now?” he asked with his back turned to the giant, washing his hands once more.

As she calmed down, Alexander also released a sigh of relief. Gazing down at her, she offered her a gentle smile before taking her chin between his thumb and index finger. He brought his fingers up her cheeks afterwards to wipe away any traces of tears that might have been left.

“Feeling better?”

He asked in a soft voice, the hand on her upper arm gently rubbing it to keep her calm. However, she asked about the flowers then, and his eyes instantly went wide. Turning his head away he pressed a fisted hand against his forehead and cursed under his breath. He had left them back in the hallway. The bastard vampire better have not stomped them to death….Lifting her up and gently putting her back on the floor, Alexander quickly stood back to his feet.

“I will go get them, you can tart preparing the vases. I’ll be back soon.”

Was she feeling better? Ember wasnt completely sure if she did or not. She was calm but now her head hurt and she wanted to lay down. She took a breath and nodded anyway. “Yes.” She told him. At least she wasnt crying anymore.

She watched his reaction about the flowers. Figuring they had been left behind she hoped the guy hadnt done anything to him. She made a small noise as he lifted her up and moved her to the floor. Was she really that light that he could move her like a rag doll? She watched him stand and nodded. “Alright then.”

She stood up and sighed a bit. She noticed the other two in the kitchen. She ignored them and got some vases and started filling them about halfway with water waiting for Alexander to come back.

The Giant sat with half the rib hanging out of his mouth, when the little furry creature went absolutely ballistic over a comment that the Giant had made, which had been done as a compliment, but totally taken the wrong way. Niko had just finished saying how he could not recall anything before winding up in the mansion, which was something that the Giant and he both shared. But on the compliment about the meal being one that was fit for a King, the kitsune went apeshit.

Even the hair on his tail went all fuzzy like, bristling as the tiny creature raged on the Giant. Now you have to remember there is a great size difference between the two and to see something so small give the Giant a piece of his mind, it was quite a sight.

. “I am NO servant and you are NOT a king! I am a kitsune not some foolish little forest vermin, and I’d soon see proper respect or that meat will turn to ashes in your mouth!”

”Woah…woah little laddie. I think you got what I said all wrong….eh?’ The Giant put both hands up as though to try and calm the little fellow, but the kitsune was already starting to charge up – with eyes like fire and the crackling of energy radiating about his form. The situation and the Kitsune were both heating up and it needed to be dealt with. Even the features on the little fellow were growing and sharpening. The Giant had said a faux pas and hadn’t even realized it.

”Aye, I am no King…and I am sure you are no servant laddie. Will ya just calm ya clacks?” He almost begged the little fellow. He actually had a small soft spot for Niko as he viewed him as something of a new friend – a rarity within this crazy house. On and on the Kitsune sprouted, ramming home that he was no one’s servant, he cooked for the house because he wanted too, not because he was ordered to. It was like being at teachers night….really.

At the end of the emotional tirade, the Giant surrended. He waved the frilly shirt like it was a white flag. ”I give…Really am sorry, little one. It was a very good meal…just saying.” Getting up off the meat cutting board, which groaned after being relieved of the Giant’s bulk, the Giant wiped his mouth with the frilly shirt and then said.

”Right, back on the trail then, laddie.”

Of course Zero tensed when the little baker neared, somehow thinking that in the midst of their heart to heart she was going to slap him again or something, but when she placed her dainty hand on his chest he seemed taken aback, confused, and almost afraid to move, though his shoulders slowly relaxed once again.
Bridgette went about explaining how it was his heart and he, being the cold loner he was, couldn’t really see that…Or understand it really..He couldn’t fathom the concept of a muscle in his chest controlling sight. But the way she said it made him believe her, somewhere in the back of his head, and he didn’t argue the point, assuming he’d find out later what everything meant. All these troublesome emotions were flying around. He was like an angst riddled teenager.
Color must be the term to describe the shades that he wasn’t used to seeing, the butler concluded, not wanting to sound idiotic by asking. Color. The word repeated in his head as he thought about the new found world around him. Maybe this place wasn’t such a lifeless pit after all.
It was only then that he realized how calm he’d become as he looked down at the girl before him. He caught himself staring at her eyes, they were so beautiful, and looked away for half a second before looking back.
“I’m Zero.”
Through thick and thin never once had they had a chance to exchange names, though he didn’t really blame her for not shouting her name while they were exchanging glares and such. And honestly he couldn’t think of a reply to her words about heart. He didn’t want to reply. Maybe it was this impending fear that he was changing so swiftly..

The Hallways.

When you have an angered half drunk Giant roaming the halls in search of a thief and he happens to be carrying a frilly shirt, you would be smart to approach with caution if at all. The kilt wearing Giant was furious. He had set a new mission for himself. Find the girl that had tricked him into the drinking game, wasted all the precious Scotch in the cellars, and took his money purse. His size 16 feet pounded the floor, sending through a shock wave that made the very floor boards jump in their places. Duggie grit his teeth and was heard to be calling out obscenities, about small breasted little harlots.

The Giant turned the corner, and thundered down yet another hallway – peering through every open door he came to in order to catch Amaria and shake her down for his coin purse. That was the immediate plan, but of course as his anger grew he started to see himself doing much more horrible things. Such as hanging her from a tree in the garden, or…drowning her in one of the Mansion’s many pools. Thieves…in his mind had no place in the Mansion, especially female ones. The girl had made an enemy of the Giant, the moment she stole his coin purse. Oh, he still had the frilly shirt scrunched unceremoniously in his hand. He had plans for that too. But wearing it, was not one of them.

Douglas was going to find that girl….if it was the last thing he ever did.

The Hallways.
Niko had been minding his own business for once, tucked away in one of the side rooms reading a cookbook from the library on the floor. Lying on his stomach and idly flitting his tail back and forth, he had enjoyed relative peace and quiet for a few recipes before there was suddenly this huge rumbling in the halls. His chin that had been resting in his hands was suddenly displaced and he faceplanted into the floor, immediately sitting up and rubbing his nose in pain. The continued tremors vibrated the floor so roughly Niko’s balance was thrown off and he fell again on his side.

Niko jumped up to his feet and raced to the door, but before he could reach the handle, it was flung open by the other side. Niko’s eyes widened as he looked up at the imposing and towering figure on the other side, this man was impossibly tall! Was he an Oni? He only vaguely remembered Oni, but what stuck out most was their nasty temper and their strength.

“Friend, friend, why are you on a rampage?” he asked with a foxy smile, despite never having met this giant man before. He noticed the giant was holding a girly skirt in his hand, but for what reason? “Calm yourself and tell me what’s the matter? If it’s dresses you want, I’m sure we can find one in your size” he snickered to himself, keeping up his “innocent” smile all the same.

The Hallways.

Friend, friend, why are you on a rampage?” That would be the first thing that Duggie heard as he was making his search for the wicked little thief from the cellar. The imposing sight of the Giant clearly had not fazed the little fox like creature, who was smiling up at the Giant as though partially amused by what he was seeing. A red haired kilt wearing mountain of a man who happened to be clutching a frilly pirate looking shirt.

“Some evil bitch robbed meh of my bag of gold!'” the Giant roared, his veins again appearing on the sides of his thick neck. His ginger and silver coloured beard bristling as he jutted out his bottom lip. Well, the Giant told part of why he was upset, the mystery of the shirt was about to be told, but when the little foxy person asked him if he was after dresses, Duggie’s reddish eyebrows near shot up into his leather skull cap.

“Dresses? What kind of poncy git do you take me for? I’m a Scot…not a bleeding Jesse.” Now, you have to remember, seeing a Giant wearing a kilt, was quite a view, especially for the likes of Niko. He could see the fox creature was staring up with innocent eyes, but his snicker showed he was being cheeky to boot.

The foxy chef was walking on dangerous ground indeed, however, the Giant wondered for a moment. If the Foxy chef knew where to get a dress, maybe he could find where the girl had gotten the frilly shirt from and that way he could track down the evil wench who drank him under the table.

“Who in this hell hole of a House, makes these shirts?” Duggie asked of the Fox.

“Robbed of your bag of gold? How unfortunate indeed” Niko replied, his eyes lighting up at the mention of it. He didn’t blame whoever the evil bitch was for stealing it, but she probably could have done a better job of it. He also didn’t know what purpose she’d use it for either, unless she was a troublemaker at heart like himself.

“I don’t know what a Scot or a Jesse is, but you don’t have to get angry at me, I just thought because you were wearing a skirt too that…..Nevermind!” Niko’s voice gradually trailed off as he ended that train of thought. This man didn’t seem to like that he implied he wore dresses, so skirts would probably be a bad thing to mention too. But what if it was a manly skirt? Maybe that would change his mind? Who knows, gotta watch out for that temper….

“I don’t know anything about making clothes, I’m just a chef, I work in the kitchen. But if I had to guess it would be one of the maids. Now maybe you can tell me what the evil bitch looks like, maybe I’ll recognize her. And we can ask around and find the gold!”

The Hallways.

“IT’S A KILT!” The Giant roared quite offended to be told that he looked like he was wearing a skirt. What was it with this bunch of mad creatures that lived in this Mansion. Frilly shirts, dresses and skirts…on a warrior? A Scot? They all needed a good beating with a blunt object, that was what Duggie felt. It was hard for the Giant to restrain himself, as he grit his teeth and snarled at the little Foxy person.

Turns out the Fox was a chef, which made about as much sense as a Giant being a groundskeeper. Everyone in the mansion had to take a position when they had entered, and naturally being a Giant the great outdoors suited him a lot better than being a Butler…or a maid for that matter. The Giant’s head kept turning, left and then right as though he was trying to catch sight of that cheeky wench from the cellar. The Fox asked what the girl looked like and the Giant actually had to scratch his head to think.

“She…had…small tits. Flat as a board…and…she…had a bottle with her. Some poncy wine. I don’t really remember. She was….short. I think. Cheeky bitch!” If he had been trying to describe the girl to a police sketch artist he could have drawn just about any woman from the Mansion.

The Giant thought about where the Maids must hang out. Did the Mansion have a cleaning supplies room? He only knew of the big garden shed where he kept his tools. He racked his brain for a moment. Think…think. Did the Mansion have a sewing room?

The only way that they were going to find the girl was to hunt…every single room of the place. The Giant wanted first and foremost to throttle the girl…and get his gold back. THEN make her wear the shirt.

“Right!…..You…are coming with me!”

It wasn’t a request….

The Hallways.
Niko threw his hands up in defense when the giant man roared about his kilt, clearly that was a hot button issue that he was touching on. He had almost jumped right out of his clothes and bolted down the hall. It was quite frightening on the receiving end of the giant’s wrath, but he had more than a few tricks to get himself out of sticky situations like these to fall back on.

“Hmm, that really doesn’t stand out like anyone in particular….” Niko thought, the giant hadn’t even mentioned anything helpful besides gender. It was probably because he was so simpleminded, or at least that was the impression he was getting from the giant man. He seemed very committed at the least, which would make it difficult to get away now if he needed to.

“Aye aye, captain” Niko grinned, mock saluting the giant. It wasn’t like he really had a choice in saying no, if he ran he was sure the giant was gonna chase him. If he did escape, he did not particularly want to live always looking out for an angry giant either. “Gimme that for a second! Let me sniff it” he said impatiently, reaching up towards the impossibly far away shirt. He had a pretty darn good sense of smell as a kitsune, so maybe if he caught a scent on the shirt he could find the owner. “I have an excellent nose, just so you know” he shrugged, passing it off as modesty when he clearly didn’t mean it.

The Hallways.

When the Giant had been playing the drinking game with the girl in the cellar, there wasn’t a great deal of light, so really he didn’t get a very good look at her. He knew one thing though. The moment he did find her, she would be the first woman to flee. Even if he had to shake down every maid in the whole house, he was going to find her, one way or another. Little did the Giant realize in his angered state that he was giving Niko a bit of a fright. I mean, he was a very large and imposing Scot with a full head of ginger hair that was like a massive red wire Brillo pad that curled out in all directions. If you had met this same man on the battle field, you would surely run the other way, than want to go a few rounds with him with a sword. He could easily rip a man’s head clean off his shoulders, if he was mad enough.

The fox person was not all that good at being able to figure out who the girl may be from the Giant’s very…broad description. It could be anyone. But was Niko about to argue with the Giant, at the risk of being turned into a new hat? Probably not.

“Aye aye, captain” The cheeky Niko replied with a wicked grin as he gave the Giant a mock salute. Honest, if the Giant was in a right frame of mind, he would have pummeled the fox right into the floor. But instead when the fox asked to sniff the frilly shirt, the Giant could see that the little fur ball might be of great assistance. Duggie leaned forward and held the shirt so that the little fellow could get a good whiff. Niko was now the Giant’s own personal bloodhound. Between the pair of them…they were bound to find the girl, but the Mansion was large so it was going to take time.

“Let’s start….in the kitchen, laddy.” The Giant ordered, and turned on his heel and started down the hall for the first place he thought the girl might be.

“Probably because I am not a man.” Amaria raised a brow. She took the next glass, easily downing it and clearing her throat. Sure, the portions were small, but at the end of this they’d both have downed half a glass of strong vodka. That was enough for anyone, surely. The two would continue their exchanges for quite a bit, until only a few shots remained. By now Amaria had pulled a chair over, her head now much below his but to be frank she didn’t care much.

The shots did nothing to her, but she swayed unsteadily in her seat to purely humor him. “Ready to lose?” Her eyes narrowed, her lips moving less so as to purposefully slur her speech. As if he’d even notice. This little exchange had been more fun than she’d thought, though she had to admit she didn’t expect him to last this long. “Is it beginning to feel more like a man’s contest now?” Speak your thoughts.. She chanted to herself. She had to make this believable. A drunk person has no filter.

“Gotta tell you though, it was a good try. Seeing you in a frilly shirt will make my day.” Amaria continued, gazing at him. “Most men would be on the floor by now, maybe being an oaf whose agenda consists of drinking and being overall.. well, isn’t so bad.” She shakily placed her glass onto the table, leaning against it and seemingly struggling to keep her eyes open. The look on his face when they reached the end and she emerged as completely sober would be a priceless one.

The Giant now took the game seriously. He noted that the girl was starting to look unsteady on her feet and her eyes appeared dazed almost. She had gone from standing, to pulling up a chair. Maybe her legs were set to buckle beneath her – to fold up like the very table that they used. The Giant continued to match her, glass for glass. His expression soon changing from merriment to a more somber look. Oh yes, the drink was taking affect on him. He had drunk a fair amount of scotch already, and when you mix drinks like this….it can go bad fast.

“Ready to lose?’ The young lass taunted. Was she kidding herself? She appeared to be taking a heavy hit as she swayed as though on the helm of a ship.

“I’m looking forward to seeing them tits of yours.” The Giant chortled as he took the next shot glass. He downed this one fast and then let out an enormous belch that was sure to be heard around the very Mansion. He leaned over and with his unsavory breath he said. “Only a big jesse wears a silly frilly fop shirt.” He had no intention of wearing a damn frilly shirt anytime soon.

The girl was struggling now, her hand shakily on the glass as she leaned back. She admitted that most men would be on the floor and out for the count, but she then taunted in her own special way that he was an oaf with an agenda to drink and be….-cough- The Giant took up the last glass and then tossed it back, drinking it down and then he set it down with a sense of victory. He thought he had won, for there was no way she could drink another. The girl could barely keep her eyelids open.

“I…WIN!” He declared, folding his arms, before he himself started to rock unsteadily on the barrel. Was he feeling it? Was he about close to fall off the barrel?

“I’m going to puke.” Amaria wrinkled her nose as he leaned forwards and spoke. Nasty. “But I can’t wait to see you looking like a ‘jesse’.” She took another one of the shots – that was her last one. “Have you really won though?” She murmured, looking at him and raising a brow. Amaria smirked and watched him, amused. Not yet. The moment he lost would be the moment she revealed her sobriety. Amaria leaned forwards, placing her elbows on the table that was littered with empty shot glasses, pinching the bridge of her nose and rubbing her temples.

Her eyes fluttered closed again, her expression slackening quite convincingly for a moment until she straightened again, sniffling a bit tiredly. She opened her eyes fully, stamping on the floor a bit in an energetic matter, as though trying to keep herself away, but somewhat causing the barrel to sway a bit more. “Don’t fall~” She sang, pressing her palms flat against the table and tapping her fingers. “I’m sure you’d have liked the view,” She began, “But I’m sure my view of you will be even better.” A smirk.

Amaria stood then, her posture unmoved and completely sober as she reached forward…”Boo.” And pressed her finger to his forehead, poking him lightly and giving a small grin as he fell back. “So, I suppose I win, then?” Her speech was instantly cleared, her eyes wide and awake. It was now clearly obvious that she’d been faking the whole time, her hands clasped behind her back. “I’m probably going to have to burn off my finger now, but no matter. I can’t wait to see you in your new attire!” A grin of delight accompanied by a laugh came onto her face, her eyes bright and excited. Was he even awake? Did he understand her if he was? If he tried to get up, she was sure he’d fall back over. “You know, I heard that drinking too much alcohol can kill you.” She grabbed the vodka bottle that contained about 1/8 left of the liquid. She pressed it to her lips, drinking the remaining bit. “For good measure. I’m sure you know that it’s not polite to leave your bottle with some left in it?” Ah, this was fantastic. The look he’d given as she appeared unphased had truly made her night.

“Thank you, thank you.” She spoke to an imaginary invisible audience, placing one arm across her stomach and bowing over repeatedly, the other arm straight out as she held the bottle with that hand. “I do think I should be an actor, don’t you?” If he passed out, she was more than tempted to check for a wallet or any sort of coin. Hey, nothing said she couldn’t take a bit out under his misfortune, right?

“Whaaaa?” Yes, the Giant was shocked to see the girl suddenly go from looking like she was about to pass out from the shots, to suddenly be bright as a button, standing on her own and above all not at all drunk. That cheeky evil wench had done tricked the Giant into believing she was a simple slip of a girl, but the truth – that would have to come later. For you see, the Giant was barely holding on. He had already swayed unsteadily as he sat precariously on the barrel of ale. When she yelled “Boo!” and pressed her finger to his head, the poor hapless Giant fell backwards. He had met his match and landed with a god awful thud on the floor. But in a sense, the way he fell did more than just lay him out cold.

Oh she was sure her view of him would be better….and for a brief moment it was. That was until his kilt flew back and…well…exposed his family jewels. Ginger hair and all. Yes, his meat and two vege were on display for all the world, or those unfortunate in the cellar to see.

“Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!” he was out cold. No words other than the heavy snore of the Giant could be heard. Knocked out? Maybe. A mix of the drink and hitting his head on the floor would have done that.

So, while she thanked her imaginary audience, and was savoring her win against Duggie, the Giant was in the land of nod. No doubt she would come back down to the cellar, clasping that frilly over sized shirt that he would have to wear as he was the loser in this bet. It would be a great embarrassment, and one the Giant would probably never ever live down.

Amaria 1…The Giant 0.

Re: Cellar

Amaria’s victory was short-lived as his kilt came up, her eyes widening before snapping shut. “Oh, god that is nasty.” She walked towards him with a look of disgust and forced her eyes open, using her shoe to kick and nudge the fabric down just enough to cover him. “Have you never heard of underwear?” She grunted, squatting down next to him and opening his jackets. She warily searched his pockets, finding his flagon and pouring the liquid out next to him. “I don’t think you should drink for a bit.” A grin. Good luck to him to find the same quality of whiskey again.

Amaria placed the bottle back, patting his pockets until she heard a slight jingle of coins. She searched, eventually finding them and tucking them into her own pockets. “Price of the drink, of course!” She knew he couldn’t hear her, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t talk out loud to herself and him. “Bet you’re never going to underestimate the power of a woman with a pretty face now, hmm?” She slowly stood, looking around and then stretching her arms over her head. She ran up the stairs of the cellar and disappeared for a long while, maybe an hour or two. When she came back down he appeared to be coming to, but was still groggy and laying down. However, she held a feather duster in the other hand and her clothing was different, much looser.

In her hands she gripped the shirt, a satisfied look on her face as she threw it at him, then walked to the corner of the cellar. Her skin started bubbling as she began to.. change into another woman.. Amaria’s skin darkened slightly from its previous pale, her hair lightening a bit and beginning to shoot into her skull as it shortened. Her features changed as did her body, her legs growing longer as she became taller, and a bit more curvy. She was lucky that throughout her lifetime she’d studied language and accents, otherwise she was sure he’d recognize her voice. Amaria began to absentmindedly dust the bottles, acting as though she had yet to see the giant on the floor.. or the cat that watched her with peaked interest.

Cellar

~Dream sequence~

A deserted Island. The waves are rolling in gently and the Giant is asleep, his face buried in the sand. He feels the sea water against his hand and slowly he groans as he lifts his head – spitting out a mouthful of sand. The sun is blazing and overhead a seagull caws and seems to laugh. The Giant’s head is pounding from what could only be a hit to the head. He reaches around and rubs the back of his head to find a bloody big lump. The crash of the waves alerts the Giant that he has some how wound up on a deserted island. Coughing, he rises from the sand and staggers about unsteadily.

“Where the fook….?’ He stammers looking about only to see a maiden pouring out jugs and bottles of what looks to be rum into a blazing fire. For some reason, the Giant cries out. “Stop that!…You’re wasting the RUM!” The girl either can’t hear him and or is deaf. As the Giant lumbers up the beach, the girl turns around and its the same girl from the drinking game.

“Nice shirt….”

The Giant stumbles and then looks down to see…he is dressed like a pirate…frilly shirt and all.

“ARRRRGH!” The Giant screams in horror, to see he is wearing a horrid…girly…frilly…shirt. He rips off the pirate hat and struggles to take off the frilly shirt. “You…you bitch. You bleeding WENCH!” He stammers and screams till the pounding in his head gets worse….and worse. He sinks to his knees and starts to sob. “I’m a big Jessie!”

~End dream sequence~

Rousing slowly, the Giant’s hand slaps about in what is the split contents of his flagon. His prized stash of scotch has been split all over the floor. His head is throbbing, like there is not tomorrow. Groaning, he starts to sit up, only to feel a flimsy piece of cloth on him. He sits up and then his blurred eyes see the true horror of his failure to win the bet.

“THAT BITCH!” He roars. Yes, the girl was gone, and the frilly shirt left for him as was the terms of the bet. Pushing himself off the floor, he snarls as he holds up the girly shirt. “I ain’t wearing this!”

He then hears the sweeping of a feather duster as all sounds seem to be amplified. He was about to rip into the lass, only…it was not the same girl.

“Oi! You seen a weasel girl with itty bitty titties, that done left me with an empty flagon and a frilly SHIRT?!” His nostrils were flaring, and his right hand curled into a fist, the shirt now draping on the stone floor.

Amaria looked over at Douglas with wide eyes. “Ahh..” It was the same sound of ‘uhhh’ as a thinking person would make, but clearly with an accent. My tits were not small, you bastard! The thought screamed itself in her head, though she didn’t dare voice it. “I do no know who you speak ofe. Dere are many women here dat fits dat dezcription.” A slight chuckle left her lips, despite his manner that showed he was clearly not in the joking mood.

Of course, Amaria had to appear surprised. Her eyes widened slightly at him as stood at full height, her grip fumbling on the feather duster. “Ahh, wat iz it dat you are wanting?” Yes, act like you don’t understand. Another thought as she spoke inwardly. “I.. ah.. think your shirt iz vary intaresting.” This was her own personal jab towards him, and she had to hide a smirk. It was a struggle to keep the clueless look on her face, her eyes quite large even on their own. This form was more attractive, sure, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t less devious.. as far as he knew. God, this was possibly the best encounter she’d had at the mansion so far.. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all. If she spoke a word that gave way little accent, it was still hard to recognize the voice due to the fact she’d raised her pitch a bit.

Amaria was absolutely enjoying his reaction. She couldn’t wait for when he realized his money was gone, but she still had no intention to let her identity be told. Soon she’d send him off on a wild goosechase, sure. But for now, she’d humor herself. Being a strongly built woman and in heels this time, she stood quite a bit taller than previously. Granted, not as tall as he, but a fair height.

Cellar

Grumbling at the situation, the Giant held up the ridiculous puffy frilly shirt and made an icky face. Like putting it on would destroy his masculinity. There was one other in the cellar with him now. A woman who looked nothing like the girl he had lost the bet too. She claimed to not know about the woman he spoke of and that really she matched the description of many, when discussing small breasted women. Tossing the shirt down on the table that was filled with empty shot glasses, the Giant shook his head at the maid’s claim the shirt was very interesting. “On you maybe. Hmmph. Should be a law against this type of shirt.” He really…REALLY didn’t want to have to wear it. He was about to turn and walk out, when he noticed a certain jangle sound was no longer coming from his person. Duggie stopped dead in his tracks, and then felt around to wear he normally kept his coin purse. You guessed it, it was gone.

“I’ve been robbed!” The Giant yelled, now realizing that not only was this girl a swindler and hustler – she was a bloody thief. Duggie looked around the floor at his feet, only seeing the stain of the scotch she had poured from his flagon. Oh, this was bad….worse than bad.

This…was a declaration of War.

You could see the veins sticking out on his neck – all purple and reddish. His bulging eyes stared at the empty shelves that held the scotch bottles and he knew…he was going to be out for some time to come. It was one thing to make a bet, but another to steal from a drunken man. Horrible…evil plans started to formulate in his mind as he snatched up the frilly pirate like shirt.

He started to march up the stairs, off in search of the maid that had cheated him so badly. His voice echoing down the stair well.

“FE FI FO FUM…..I’M GOING TO RAM THIS SHIRT UP YOUR BUM!”

As the door slammed shut and the heavy footsteps of the giant faded, Amaria broke down in laughter. She slid to the floor, laughing as hard as she could. At this point, tears had begun to form in her eyes. “Oh god, that’s fantastic.” She sighed, wiping at her eye and then pulling out his coin pouch. She counted, giving a somewhat satisfied look. Not too shabby, wonder where you’ve gotten it, though. She didn’t dare shift back into her usual form, keeping her appearance as it was and looking around. “And off to spend this money, I shall go!”

Amaria stood, then pursed her lips to the side. “Actually.. perhaps a bath first… I stink of Giant..” Was she really insane to talk to herself? No, she supposed not. It was all the same, whether she kept quiet or spoke aloud. And hey – the last place anyone would look for her would probably be in the baths. Amaria walked out of the cellar then, a bit of a skip in her step accompanied by chuckles.

(Thread Change to the Baths. Rev – I think it’d be interesting for Roman and her to meet there since he knows about this and what she is, but she doesn’t know he does.)

Amaria sat on the floor of the dark cellar. By now her eyes had long adjusted, feline in appearance and thus allowing her to see clearly. A hand gripped the neck of the wine bottle, bringing its mouth to her own. Amaria knew that this was not the way to experience wine, but the drinking calmed her. Not as though she’d ever actually get drunk. Her eyes glazed over the shelves upon shelves of drink, and she knew she could have it all without a single effect.. except, perhaps, to use the restroom. A light smirk at her own thoughts appeared on her face, though it quickly faded as she put down the bottle. One leg lay flat against the floor, the other leg bent at the knee. She held her knee that was raised loosely with both hands, her back straight against the wall behind her as she tilted her head back and stared at the ceiling.

God, if only she could remember anything. Anytime she tried to recall, a dull throb took over her head as though warning her to get back. Not only that – but she simply couldn’t remember anything, even when ignoring the pain. Her lips pressed together and became a thin line at the thought, her eyes looking at her hands. She held one out in front of her, gazing at it as the skin began to pulse and bubble, the bones elongating as her hand became meatier and less dainty than the one it had been, the skin darkening. She continued altering her hand, as it not only took the time away but amused her, as well as unlocked some of her past. She’d often stare in the mirror, changing into various people that she could not remember but her eyes had seen. This was the only way she could know that a past existed. This was all she had to hang on to. Thankfully she was alone for now, as a small and petite woman with a hand that looked sewn on and continued changing could be a bit terrifying to witness.

Cellar

A loud cracking sound and then the whine of old hinges signaled that the door to the cellar had been prized open. A grunt, then a groan…followed by a wet sounding fart was heard at the top of the stairs, as a large shadow appeared on the stairwell. A menacing sight to be sure.

~Creak…Creak…Creak~ The wooden stairs groaned under the weight of a being that was coming down, and holding onto a small lantern with large hairy digits. Douglas “Duggie” McGee – the giant, who was also a groundskeeper at the Mansion, was making a small trip down to the cellar to restock his flagon of scotch. During the course of the night, he had emptied it after enjoying a game of cards with an ugly garden gnome. Finding his flagon empty, Duggie decided that the best place to refill was in the dusty cellar.

Reaching the stone floor, Duggie’s sandals slapped against the solid floor. He set the small lantern on top of a pile of wine barrels, and then rubbed his gnarled hands together. He believed that he would be the only soul down in the cellar that day. Most of the staff would be going about their duties for certain, and with a wry grin that exposed his lack of front teeth, he started to go through the racks to find a good sized bottle of scotch.

As he searched, he hummed a tune from his homeland. The odd cough escaped his lips, when his hand passed over some dusty bottles. Did the maids never come down from their rooms to clean this place? A small mouse scuttled along a large case of red wines, as the Giant soon found his prize. A one hundred year old bottle of scotch. Taking it down from its shelf, he pulled off the cork stopper with his teeth and spat it across the room. He then upended the bottle to his waiting lips, and took a good swig, that would make any mild mannered man near cough to death.

“Ahhhh!…That be puttin’ the fire in mah bellie!” The giant roared, before letting out a loud belly laugh that would near shake the walls.

Turning around, Duggie then happened to notice a wee lass on the floor. She was having a drink too. Duggie was a bit taken aback to see the girl and then pointed at her with a raised brow.

“Bit early for a tipple, lassie.”

Amaria’s head snapped up towards the stairs as the door flew open, and for once she was glad she’d decided against oiling them. Otherwise, she would have never heard the other companion approaching.. of course, until he made himself obviously known. She wrinkled her nose, though the smell likely wouldn’t reach her. God, that’s absolutely wretched. Her hand instantly stopped changing, returning back to match the other. Perhaps, if she stayed very still, the giant of a man wouldn’t notice her. Amaria’s breath paused as there was the continuous clanking of glasses and bottles, the occasional sniffles and shuffles of sandals.

Of course, she wasn’t a fool and knew the plan to be a bit of a stretch as she glanced up to see him pointing at her, a snappy thought coming to her head. “Don’t you know it’s rude to point?” Though from what she had observed, something told her that he didn’t care much for manners. Instead, she stood, holding the bottle of Allie Sisell wine limply at her side. “I could say the same to you, couldn’t I?” How funny that he questioned her drinking habits when he’d just downed a bottle of scotch that would normally knock men out as though it was nothing. “Though, I think we both know it’s never too early for a drink.”

Again, not as though it’s even alcoholic to you… She thought, quite bitterly. How she wished she could be drunk enough to not remember this encounter.. though she didn’t remember far too much to begin with. She stood there quite awkwardly, staring up at him. She’d seen him around the grounds, of course, but she’d never actually gotten his name. “Who are you?” She asked him, lamely. Though it could have been worded better, she found that direct questions were always the best route. Amaria was sure this man had seen her as well, though perhaps under a different appearance. Her voice remained the same, however, in its sultry and low tone… despite her changing looks.

“Don’t you know it’s rude to point?

What a conversation starter. This little fire brand that the Giant had uncovered on his quest to wet his whistle was one for the books. She was quick off the mark with the snappy comebacks to boot. It actually surprised the Giant to hear such a wee lass speak with such a tone. His brown eyes gazed down to the bottle in her hand. Allie Sisell wine – a good year too. The giant tossed the empty bottle of scotch over his shoulder without thought or care, and you could hear it smash as it hit the stone floor. Shards of glass going in all directions. He was about to reach for a second bottle, when the cheeky wench asked the same of him. Why was he drinking so early?

“Happy hour is every hour for the likes of me.” He said with a deep baritone, before tapping his chest. “You are in the presence of one Douglas McGee…..and I eat lassies like you for breakfast. Ha!” He gripped the cork of the second bottle of scotch and this time was a little cheeky in where he spat the cork, making sure it flew right over her head.

~Pop! ….WHIZZ!~

As he started to fill his flagon, he watched the girl out of the corner of his eye. “I seen you before….I think. I was about to say…if you’re a maid, you’re doing a crappy job of it. Look at all the dust down here, aye?” He gestured at all the dusty bottles and barrels of wine.

“Noted.” Amaria mumbled at his comment about how happy hour was ‘every hour,’ as he so elegantly put it. “I’m sure you do. Though I might add that eating women is a bit strange of a diet… considered cannibalism in many places, too.” Amazing how she managed to keep her tone monotone but at the same time sarcastic. Was that even possible? She couldn’t help but to slightly duck when the cork flew over her head, though she quietly cursed herself at it. If she’d stayed still she would have voided him of the satisfaction of a reaction.

“Oh, yes, I’m a maid. That’s precisely why I lack any of the proper cleaning supplies and am drinking alcohol.” The sarcasm in her voice dripped this time, her brow raising. “Though I will be sure to put in a request later, since alcohol is the most important thing here. Not like living quarters, or anything.” Now that she thought about it, actually, the alcohol probably was more important to him than the living quarters. She waved her hand before he spoke, cutting him off. She’d closed her eyes, not seeing his facial expression. “Don’t reply to that, I’m sure an alcoholic such as yourself will likely disagree.”

Could she be an alcoholic? Was it possible to be one if you were immune to alcohol? She was so much smaller than him, as her form she took on now was from years ago, back when nutrition was scarce and thus height lacking. Granted, she could change her torso and legs, but that was pointless. What she lacked in her current physique she made up with an attitude that filled the room. “That being said, what are you? Job wise and species wise? I was guessing troll, but you’d be more attractive if you were a troll..” She grinned then, her deadpan expression faltering. “Ah.. no, but truly. What are you?” Down to business. Blunt. Obtaining information. This was nothing new to her.

The Giant let out a loud bellow of laughter at the maid’s remark that eating women was a strange diet. For you see, it was actually a bit of a double meaning to old Duggie. With a lopsided grin, he leaned on a stack of barrels, that groaned under his weight.

“Well, there is eating a woman….and then there is EATING a woman out. HA HA!” The drink had already started to go to his head. Not every giant was the kind that ground a man’s bones to make his bread, well not the one standing before Amaria, that was for sure. Having filled his flagon with scotch, he tossed the second bottle away, before tucking the leather flagon beneath his coat. A light pat and he then directed his attention squarely on the petite and rather boisterous woman before him. He had to admit, her scathing sarcastic wit was truly entertaining to the wandering Scot.

What came as even better news was that he was right on the money. She was a maid…and a bad one at that. Duggie rubbed his bearded chin, then picked out a morsel of pasta which must have been hidden in his beard for a good few days. He casually popped it into his mouth as he listened to how she should put in a request for proper cleaning supplies.“I could pluck a turkey and make you a duster in a blink. Heh…then you could do the simple thing of…waving it over dusty cobwebs, while still being able to suckle that their wine bottle.” If she thought that she could ever pierce his rough hide with her sarcasm, Amaria would need to think again. Water off a bloody duck’s back. The woman taunted that he must be an alcoholic for the way he was carrying on.

Duggie brought up his curled fist and then said – “Pot calling the old kettle black, aye?” He already got the feeling she liked the odd drop a bit too much too. A daring little head wobble, as he tapped his nose, the Giant then decided to entertain her questions with what he believed to be truth.

“Well, I’m not a bleeding elf, or one of those blood sucking bastards that walk around the halls with a rod shoved up their arses….measly gits. No…I’m a Giant. And…for your information, lassie; we aren’t meant to be beautiful. Not like some trumped up Princey boy. All frilly shirts and shit. “

He had a point.

Amaria raised a brow as he explained the meaning she had not caught onto before. “How tasteful.” She grumbled, looking at him and then shaking her head. “I’m not a damned maid!” She was tempted to throw the bottle at him full force. her shapeshifter half granted her its strength.. one of the perks… but alas, she didn’t. Her temper was quite short in some cases, and this giant was particularly good at pissing her off.

“Okay, kettle.” Amaria sat on an empty top shelf across from him, hopping up with ease as it wasn’t too tall to begin with. “Obvious you aren’t meant to be beautiful. I see that, and to be frank, I like frilly shirts.” Well.. they were in style when she was a teenager… granted she couldn’t remember being a teenager, but that was besides the point. “Plus, I’m fairly sure you wouldn’t fit in a frilly shirt. They’re for thin men, mostly… save the few that get them custom made, I’m sure.” She smirked then. “I promise to buy you a frilly shirt sometime. God, I would love to see that.”

She leaned forwards, her elbows against her knees. “You know what I’d love to see even more?” She began, her voice insinuating something sexual as her voice turned to that of a seductive one. “What I’d really love?” She smirked. “You, losing hopelessly in a drinking competition against me.” She sat back then, her voice becoming serious again. Then again, she did have an unfair advantage.. but he didn’t know it, and that’s why it was so fun. Amaria grinned as he seemingly considered the challenge. I mean, looking at it from an unknowing point of view, she was a barely 5’2”, petite, thin, woman. And he, well. He was not. He was a literal giant.

Sometimes he’d hang out here during day time, when the sun could be a big pain in the arse. And other times it was just entertaining to see the people drop by one by one. Sometimes he spotted a white haired vampire stroll down, pick up a nicely aged wine, then stroll back up again like the fancy piece of shit he is. Gosh he disliked that man with a passion. But today…The beauty and the beast made their entrance. He observed them while cautiously sneaking and making his way through the shelves. Usually he would prefer the form of a large black dog, but a smaller cat was much more meant for lurking around like this. At the sound of the giant’s last comment, he struggled not to snicker in a sly manner. He was right about the vampires. Nathaniel was number one, prime example. What a dick.
Continuing through the darkness, the demonic shapeshifter eventually hopped up on a barrel, proceeding from there on to climb ontop of a shelf. He was not out of sight to the giant whom was already so awfully tall, but he didn’t mind. He was, at the moment, just an innocent cat, right? Right. As if.

Hopping from shelf to shelf, he’d eventually reach the one nearby the two where he promptly sat down and gazed down at the two with eyes as black as night. They didn’t even reflect any light, they were nearly only two black holes. A drinking contest? he thought, leaning his little head forwards while squinting some, both ears perked curiously. Against a giant.., the cat held back a snicker. No, he was not aware of Amaria’s impressive ability to not get drunk, but he would be soon if he stood around for a bit longer. This reminded him of that old Scandinavian fairy tale, about that kid who had an eating contest against the giant. What a morbid ending it had. he child held a rucksack against his stomach which he filled with large spoons of food. Rather than getting full, he was simply filling up the rucksack. Meanwhile, the giant eventually had enough. He asked the child how come he could eat so much. The kid brought up a knife and said ‘when there is no more room in my stomach, I slice it open and let all the food fall out, then I sew it shut and start all over again!’. The giant accused him of cheating, but then he fell for the cheap lie and grabbed his own knife; eventually slicing open his own guts. The kid got away in one piece, having slain a giant in the process. Clever little shit. He truly hoped that was how this was going to end, would be entertaining with some bloodshed around here for once. Laying down, the cat began to absent-mindedly lick it’s paw. ”Perk” of being a shapeshifter, you accidentally inherit the traits of the forms you take. Wonderful, he’ll be spitting hairballs for days.

“ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT?!” The Giant roared as the girl was giving as good as she got. Saying how frilly shirts were for thin men mostly. “It’s relaxed….muscle.” Duggie declared, giving his ample size gut a good pat. Typical, a woman has to go and do a blow below the belt. He couldn’t give a toss about some frilly shirts, but he didn’t like to be told he was fat, even if she used a clever way to say it. “You can stick your frilly shirt right up you arse lassie, but something tells me its about as tight as that of a cat’s.”he said this as he happened to notice a strange black cat watching them

“No offence.” Duggie said out of the side of his mouth to the cat. The giant’s attention resumed back to the girl who was now going on as most women do, with this sexy like voice and moving her body like that of a cobra. Seriously, women, you can’t trust em. She wanted…no she would LOVE for the Giant to take part in a drinking competition. Amaria wanted more than anything to drink him under the table. To see him lose.

Now here was a girl that was little over 5’2″, asking a Giant who weighed…-cough- a lot, to go drink for drink, glass for glass. The Giant, was not stupid. He narrowed his gaze as he stared at the girl with now a heightened sense of suspicion.

“What do I get…..if I beat you, lassie? Hmm?”

Duggie glanced around the cellar at the many rows of bottles. The Giant then looked back at the girl. “I know…if you lose…you gotta flash me your tits.”

“Of course not, you must just be big-boned… As an added thought, though, thank you for the compliment. I’ve heard that having a tight ass is a good thing.” Amaria’s voice was deadpan as he then went on to explain the terms. How lewd of a request, but she expected no less. Granted there was no practical way she would lose, but to agree immediately would give away that something was dubious. However, her reply was almost instantaneous before she’d thought this tactic through. “Absolutely not.” As if she’d ever subject herself to that, but she had to admit refusing left him with thought that she could lose.. granted he didn’t see through the sneaky plan.

He looked awfully smug at himself for thinking up those terms, her eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms over her chest. “No. I refuse.” But of course, it wasn’t really her choice. Amaria glared. “Fine. But if you fail to look fast enough that’s not my problem, I’m not doing it twice. And if I win, you have to wear one of those frilly shirts for a day. No excuses, no hiding around. You have to go about your daily business.”

Amaria got up then, going to the back corner of the cellar and grabbing a foldable table. She undid it, then looked around for a cupboard. They had to have glasses here.. she spotted one, noting its height and scowling a bit. When she was sure Duggie wasn’t looking she changed her legs, growing in height. As far as the giant could figure she was human.. however, their not-so-feline friend could clearly see this. She easily took the glasses down, bundling them in her arms. She held maybe 12, placing them on the counter below and then grabbing more. She shrunk then, running back and forth to the table and placing the shot glasses. There were about 15 for each person. “Choose the alcohol. Make it strong.” She mumbled then. As if it even mattered. “Though I might just let the fact that I beat you be rewarding enough. I mean, hey, that’ll shame you for centuries.”

The Giant guffawed as the girl refused to his terms. What was one little flash of her tiny tah tahs to the likes of him? They were probably no bigger than a sunny side egg each, but he was a breast man and he did enjoy seeing a good pair of pink nips. He rolled his tongue around in his mouth while cocking his head ever so slightly to the right while the girl deliberated on what she was going to do. Finally, she agreed but the terms were that he had better get a good look cause if she did take off her shirt it was going to be one hell of a quickie.

“Ahaha. Done. I win, I see tits. You win, I look like a pirate for a day and wear the frilly shirt.” He did agree but only because he was so sure he would win.

Watching the girl get a small table that would be used as a place to sit the glasses, the Giant pulled up a large cider barrel and sat on it. He kept the girl in check, while she placed the glasses down on the table and asked what drink they would have and it had to be a strong one.

The Giant rubbed his beard and then smirked at the girl.

“Vodka.”

Simple as that, a drink that was sure to send one under the table quickly, but who? The Giant pushed up his sleeves and then turned over one of the glasses waiting for it to be filled.

“Lassies…first.” He urged.

“But of course.” Amaria flipped over another glass then took the bottle, pouring vodka into both of them. She stood rather than sat, as with him sitting he was the same height as she. Amaria raised a brow and then down the glass, making a quite believable coughing noise and making sure to screw up her face. Yes, it burned a bit, but nothing to her that would ever produce such a reaction. This was her show, and to him it looked like she wouldn’t last.

Amaria began to turn all the glasses over – evidently she wanted this to be done quickly. She poured vodka in each, figuring that if the giant did not finish his fill she surely would. “Your turn.” Her eyes flicked up to him, watching him grip the small shot glass in his large hand. It looked humorous, actually, much like an adult being told to have a tea party with a child. At this she stifled a snicker, the thought quite amusing. As he downed the glass she took no time waiting or bracing herself, she picked up the next shot glass and downed it with ease.

Again, a slight burn but nothing to phase her. Put on a show, put on a show.. the words repeated in her head as she cleared her throat, even going so far as to grip the table to make it seem as though it was needed support. As if. Amaria closed her eyes, breathing out and then looking up at his amused face. Oh, how much it pained her to avoid a smirk. He actually thought he was going to win this and get a view. Another amusing notion.

You have to remember that a shot glass to a giant, is like a thimble to a child. The amount of alcohol that it contains is but a sip really. The girl did the honors and poured each shot so they were evenly matched and of course, she stood rather than sat, since she could try and be eye to eye with the giant. Duggie watched the girl with piqued curiosity on how she was taking each shot, to match him drink for drink. He knew that the vodka should burn each time and he was judging her facial reactions to see how it affected her.

When she declared it was his turn, the Giant tapped his tiny glass to hers and then raised it to his lips, downing it with ease. Duggie let out a large “Ahhhh” sound as he then placed the empty shot glass down – top to the table, ready for the next one. The Giant held a bemused expression as he watched the girl take her second. Oh this lass was putting on quite the performance. He was sure she loved a drink and it would take a few to knock her out. The Giant? Well, he had all day and the gardens and grounds keeping could wait.

“Why does this feel like a child’s game and not a man’s contest? Hmm?

Oh the Giant was a suspicious old goat to be sure. He adjusted his sitting position so that his kilt widened – his sandaled feet moving outwards leaving nothing to the imagination if the girl happened to stare beneath his kilt. He picked up the next shot glass and held it as though a dainty thing, before downing another and slamming the little shot glass on the table.

“Did I tell ya lass…I got an iron gut. I could drink a keg and still remember ya name.” He teased.

IceTe3a: Standing there in the middle of the forest near a giant shack which was the home of Olav the giant, obviously he did not take kind to strangers and seemed like he disliked the young elf which was confirmed. Ice watches his daemon hues a fiery red were flicking between the two as they start abusing each other with words ‘ Words.. how useless, Now violence that’s how you get your point across’ he thought to himself this making him shake his head. A brow arched slightly as Olav stated the elf was indeed his enemy and not his friend. ‘How interesting..’ he thought to himself as he glanced Olav up and down looking at Olav he would have some serious brute strength but nothing Ice wouldn’t be able to handle that’s for sure. Then his ears burn ‘I want to see him kill something I DON’T care about’ this made Ice turn his head to Nip as it slightly tilted to the side with a arched brow She expected him to follow orders and kill this giant just because she said so? ‘Good fucken luck’ he thought to himself. Olav picked up his club and started swinging it around his head screaming a typical giant saying as he shook his head. ‘After you..’ Nip stated as Ice’s lip’s parted “You think I’m going to do as you say, you have another thing coming” as he took a side step making the path between Olav and Nip clear “Hope you’re quick child” he smirked. His hues glance over to Olav as he arches a brow ‘The enemy of my enemy is my weapon’ he thought with a devious smile “By chance the stupid child was able to bind me to her, I am no more friend to her than you are to fuzzy critters. Dispose of her for me, Help free me and I shall burn her kind to the ashes” explaining his situation to Olav as his daemonic red eyes burning with a fiery rage for all to see. Raising out his right hand with the intention of making a daemon’s deal with the giant known as Olav the inside of his palm started to glow a dark red aura as a glowing symbol appeared on his palm. A Daemon’s deal is sacred and cannot be broken or cheated by either party, but one must state exactly what they want out of the deal specifically for if it is not there in writing it is not a part of the deal. “So Olav, do we have a deal? You smash this child into jam, freeing me and I’ll destroy her entire race into nothing but lifeless bodies and ash.. a front row seat to hear their painful cries fill the skies” he smiled as he was using his silver tongue that most daemons had, a passive skill to make their deals and talking’s more acceptable from the other party, Oh he was smart and he knew the giant could not refuse such a easy deal. Ice got what he wanted and the giant got to see the world burn simplicity in its finest form, his open right palm glowing with his daemon symbol, this showed that it was actually a real daemon deal and not some bullshit story, the young elf known as Nip was going to cop it, once Ice was free and she was dead oh was he going to have some fun.

CharlotteCarrendar: – Pocketing the baby dragon, it seemed that Nip was not as wily when it came to her plans to use Ice to do his destructor gig on the likes of the giant Olav. Clearly, he wasn’t keen on being a tool. This made her scratch her cheek a moment as she knew she was going to have to think fast on her feet. The bald crow finally reached the clearing and whistled as he saw the massive giant swinging his club. “Now this is more like it.” The crow chortled, getting ready for some action. With careful footing, Ice took a side step to create a clear path between Olav and the Elf. The elf stared hard at the daemon, who declared quite loudly that if he was going to fight for her, she had another thing coming. “Hope you’re quick.” Again with the put downs. She puffed out her chest and raised the challenge. “I’m quicker than you think.” But all too soon, the daemon’s attentions were turned on the Giant, who was ready to play whack a mole with his oversized club. He started to declare that he was no friend of the elf either and that if they struck a deal after the Giant despatched the elf, he would have front row seats to watching her kind burn. Now, this was a familiar speel from what the Elf understood, and then she looked at Olaf, who was licking his lips and about to smash his club onto Nip’s head. “Wait….you can’t trust him. He is only upset cause he is bound to me and can’t hurt me. But I can do this.” And what she did was going to be a shock, as Ice held out his hand to shake a deal with the Giant, the small elf filled with the power of the daemon, kicked the Giant in the shin. This caused him to double over in pain, and then the elf snatched up the large club which for some reason seemed weightless, and donged the bent over Giant on the head. If this landed, she would spin on her right foot and make a run as fast as she could from the Giant’s home, and drag the hapless daemon with her. <3>

IceTe3a: Ice heard the crow as he looked up sure enough there was the stupid crow “Don’t you have anything better to do” he growled at the crow as his attention was brought back to the giant known as Olav who seemed keen to accept the deal Ice was offering, unfortunately Nip had other plans as he watched her kick Olav in the knee he doubled over in pain “Oh fuck me.. It wasn’t even a hard kick you slow fucker, Get up and kill her!” he yelled out to Olav as he watched Nip pick up the club with ease he knew by now she was tapping into his power forcefully or subconsciously he did not know as of yet as he felt his power being drained from him and transferred over to her, she only borrowed a small amount but Ice still did not like it. “No not the club” he sighed as he watched Nip swing the club towards the giants head, which hit true the giant let out a groan and collapsed onto the ground “Useless…” he said suddenly his chain yanked hard as he falls to the ground and starts to get dragged right behind Nips feet glancing up as he’s being dragged along the floor he notices she’s running away “Stop fucken running!!! Firstly you’re dragging me secondly you should have finished him” he growled as his head gets hit from rocks and leaves amongst other foliage his body was covered in the dirty stuff as he tried to get up but she was going too fast.

CharlotteCarrendar: A safe distance from the Giant’s home, Nip did stop. She was clutching her chest and panting. She couldn’t believe that she took on the Giant and won. Well, technical knockout. Course, the daemon hated being dragged along behind the elf girl, but at this point she was mad as hell at him. “You really are something, you know that. You would sell your own mother if you could.” Oh she was on to him now. His goal was to get released from the bind between them and kill her. He…really wanted to kill her more than anything, so using her enemies for target practise was now out of the question. She sank to her knees cradling the baby dragon. The crow was barely able to keep up, but he wasn’t about to leave this trio in a hurry. Nip looked fierce as she held up her left wrist with the chain attached. “I wonder if I can take it off without dying?” She rattled the chain and then shook it up and down rapidly.<3>

IceTe3a: Ice comes to a sliding stop his head hits the back of her leg as he growls “Glad that’s over” he said as he rolled onto his back and dusted himself off. Yawning slightly he closed his eyes just as he heard her go off at him about his mother and father he chuckled slightly “I Killed my Real parents when I was 16, although I made my first kill at the age of 5 I believe” he chuckled slightly as he shrugs “So many dead, I can’t remember” he yawned once more as she had gone quiet, the crow finally catching up “Kinda slow there, than again you are a old crow” he smirked as nip sounded like she had given up about telling him off she started wiggling the chain up and down trying to get it off as she said ‘I wonder if I can take it off without dying’ he chuckled slightly as the collar moved only slightly at this stage “It’s for good, stupid. The bond cannot be broken by you, Not even I have that power anymore” He wondered if the crow knew the truth that there were ways to ‘break’ the bond one of the easiest being trade the ownership of the bond to someone else. He opens his eyes as he glances over to the crow “What’s your side in this crow, what exactly do you want?” he asked trying to figure an edge out to perhaps keep the crow quiet about the rest of Ice’s secrets. “Besides, even if you could get it off and release us, I’d kill you with in that moment and then I’d burn this world to the ground along with the rest of your kind” he opened his eyes and glanced over to her with a simple smile across his face.

CharlotteCarrendar: – “Burn everything..and everyone? Nope, sorry but I can’t let you do that. You want to see the world burn, well not this planet bucko!” She was starting to find her strength, through his. She leaned over to give his forehead a good poke. “You’re stuck with me. There is no one in their right mind that would ever want to being chained to you.” Nip was really not liking this daemon at all. There was evil people sure, but he wanted to kill everything cause…he said so? It was then she had a resolve, to teach him right from wrong. The crow was still interested in the exchanges taking place between the daemon and the elf girl. The Daemon continued to threaten in the most vile way imaginable, but the truth of the situation was, he could not break the bond, and she certainly couldn’t. Noting the girl giving the daemon a poke in the forehead, he had to chuckle. “Wait till she finds out…” Course then the bird clapped its beak shut and just cocked it’s head from side to side, starting to squawk rather than speak English. If the girl found out about how to be free of the daemon, then there goes the entertainment. No, the crow wanted this show to continue. Even the Devil himself would be laughing. Nip straightened her dress and then made up her mind. “We are going to make camp here, and build a fire. I am sure there are enough berries and foods of the forest to sustain us. And a creek as well; for fresh water.” <3>

IceTe3a: He was glancing over at her as she rambled on how she would not let him burn down her entire world, he rolled his eyes “And, you’re going to stop me… how exactly?” he chuckled at the thought of her trying to stop him from doing what he did best. Then he feels her poke him in the head as he raises a brow slightly “refrain from touching me” he growls as he glanced back to the crow who started squawking instead of talking which was a good thing in Ice’s mind. “No one has the strength to control me child, let alone stay connected to me for too long.” He smirks as he comes to a stand and looks around “I may not be able to kill you, but I can kill everyone and everything else around, that’s a fact, and there is nothing you can do to stop this from happening” he laughs. Yawning slightly he still can’t believe how unlucky he was to get smacked by that dragon than wake up finding himself bonded to this.. this child elf why wasn’t she with her own kind? This made him think as he looked down at her, “So why aren’t you with your own kind? Been banished haven’t you” a devilish grin happens across his face as he arches a curious brow. Food, water? Pathetic things mortals need; A daemon needing to eat to live is a funny thought as he laughed slightly “I don’t need food and water to survive but fire… Oh I can do fire” he smirks as he takes in a deep breath he fills his lungs and breaths out with force as fire comes shooting out of his mouth much like a dragon it sets a good sized patch of grass in front of them a light if it wasn’t put out or maintained it would certainly light the rest of the field and start a forest fire. Happy with his simple task he falls down onto his back with a thud laying there he closes his eyes and shrugs “What do you most desire Nip?” he questioned her out of curiosity, as a slight glow shines from under his closed eyelids.

CharlotteCarrendar:- So, the daemon didn’t like being touched, eh? That was a tit bit worth remembering. Nip closed her hand into a fist and lowered it to her side, while in the background the crow was being really noisy…again. What was with the crow? Like the devil’s own representative to watch over the wicked daemon and his bound Elf. Either way she was finding him as annoying as the daemon did. Again, the daemon started with the taunting. Oh he would kill everyone and everything she ever cared for. There would be nothing she could do to stop it. Yadda yadda. Nip’s face fell slightly, but it was not for reasons that you would think. As he let out a burst of flame and light the ground, Nip gathered some logs and stacked them up like a fire pile, before gathering rocks to form a barrier. This would take some time to do, and all the while, Ice was mouthing off. He even asked why she wasn’t with her own kind. Ah yes. Why wasn’t she? Not bothering to look at him, she gave the reason and it was sure to stun. “I was cast out after I was caught stealing the Chief’s prized pig.” Now that was a funny answer. Sent out for stealing a pig? Once the fire was under control, she plonked down on the ground and raised her hands to warm herself by it. The tiny dragon poking it’s head out of her jacket. “You can burn what you like…but I have nothing I care for aside from a baby dragon in my pocket, and you already blew up her Mum.” <3>

IceTe3a: He watches her work to keep the fire at bay and bring it down to a useful size as he glances at the screeching crow he growls as he death stares at him “Either say something useful or shut the fuck up” as he glances back Nip was sitting in front of the fireplace warming herself as he rolled his eyes she started to tell him that she was indeed cast out for stealing the chiefs prized pig ‘Oh god.. what a bunch of uncivilized elves, they must be the stone age elf or some shit’ he thought to himself “Really a prized pig, Kind of uncivilized your kind is isn’t it? Here I thought that elves were the most advanced race of their time” as his hues flicker over to the baby dragon who had pokes its head out he smirks as he spat a small spark of fire directly past the baby dragons head, not able to hit it since it’s too close to her but he could fire near her just to scare the baby “Of course I did, she attacked me it’s the concept of battle child” he yawned slightly as he closed his eyes and shrugs “still haven’t told me what you most desire in this world” he had come to terms that he was now bound to her, what’s one less person he could not kill at this very second anyway he will just have to wait and kill her when the time comes “So what’s your plans” he smiles as his lips part a wolf howl coming out from deep within his body as it echoed throughout the plains wondering if there were wolves on this planet.

CharlotteCarrendar:- The baby dragon squeaked and drew it’s head back inside the Elf’s coat as the nasty daemon spat a blast of fire at it. The poor thing was going to have a terrible night if the daemon was going to keep doing such things to torment it. The yellows and oranges of the fire created an aura about the silver hair elf’s frame as she listened with pursed lips as the daemon continued to mock her and her kind. Calling them uncivilized of all things. “The Chief had a passion for pigs….lord knows why. I was dared to steal his favourite by a bunch of boys that said I would be no good as a hunter. I got caught, since the whole thing was a set up. I have a habit of taking things, so..this gave them the reason and right to toss me out.” It was all true of course, and she was in part ashamed of that fact. She shook her head as she felt the baby dragon quiver within her coat. “Must you do that?” Referring to his fiery spit. “Bad enough you killed its Mum. The daemon though wanted to know what the Elf’s desires were, as well as plans. He was grinning of course, then making the sound of a wolf through his own stomach. Great…wolves, that was all they needed. “Well, it would have been to be accepted again, but that is not likely what with you chained to me. I can see it now, I walk back into my village…with you.” She cast a long look at him then making a sour face. “And you would set about destroying everything and everyone…and that ruins that dream, now doesn’t it?’ She folded her arms and rested them on her knees. “My plans…are to stay alive long enough to figure out how to end you.” That last part was said as it was meant. One of them had to die….but which would it be? <3>

IceTe3a: He watched as the baby dragon squealed and ran back into the elf’s coat this made Ice chuckle and shake his head in joy “Oh the pleasures” he said softly as he glanced over with a arched brow “So you were lead into a trap, I can’t figure out if you’re really just a child or just really stupid. Either way don’t you want to get back at those who caused you this pain?” he said as he licked his lips slightly “And yes.. I must” he chuckled as he heard the cry of great wolves in the distance this made him smile, they were as evil as nature came born killers. “So you can’t go back because of me eh” If only she knew what she really could do that would make this situation even worse for Ice as he let out a sigh of relief arching a brow as he raised his head glancing towards her at her comment about figuring out how to end him his smile turned wider “Oh thousand’s have tried..” he smiled as he waved his hand the fire danced as a distorted image of him in countless battles fighting other people and creatures.. blood, destruction and chaos was shown through the images of the fire “None have succeeded and these were great warriors and beasts of legends.. a mere child elf destroy the king of hell? That will be the day” he let out a evil laugh as a slight growl came from behind, a rather large male black wolf came slowly walking out of the darkness as it paced straight up to Ice it rubbed its cheek against his palm as its eyes glared right at Nip, baring its white rather long fangs at her with a light growl it laid down right into Ice as he rested his head against it. “It’s simple there is good in the world, and then there is evil nothing can stop this, It is my job; what I was born for and I do what I do and I enjoy doing it” the fire explodes upwards and then settles down back to its normal self.

CharlotteCarrendar:- Nip’s eyes narrowed at the daemon’s continued taunts. He was like a rotten fingernail, picking at a scab over and over. He took pleasure in upsetting the baby dragon as he did in upsetting her. One thing she was going to have to do was learn how to toughen up against his cruel jibes. She turned her head away sharply, when he asked if she wanted revenge against those that tossed her out. “If I was to seek revenge then I would be no better than the ones that set me up. So..no, I don’t.” At least she was showing a bit of backbone, and speaking the truth of her situation. The baying of the wolves, the great wolves had Nip look to the surrounding mountains and feel the shiver of fear. Was he calling to them? Oh this was just adding to her woes. Course the daemon was still talking….he never seemed to stop. But the delight he took when she said she would end him made her feel physically sick. His face twisted with a gleeful expression of how he had thousands try to kill him and they were all champion fighters and warriors of note. Not some simple elf girl with a pocketed dragon. In his mind, she had no chance, not a one. He conjured the very flames to show the battles he had won and then as a large black male wolf padded out of the wood and laid its giant head on Ice’s lap did he finally let the fire subside. At first, Nip was fearful of his new shaggy pet. But then he reacted to it differently to any other living creature, like he had an affinity with the wolf. It growled at her, showing its disapproval before quietening. Nip swallowed as the daemon explained he was the epitome of evil and there was nothing on this earth that could stop him. Nip wiped her hand under her nose and then let it rest on her lap. It was clear he would make a mockery of anything she said, either brazen or not. Instead she kept her thoughts to herself. Plotting his demise would take time. Then suddenly she said. “Without good there is no balance in nature, as you said so yourself. Destroy all that is good, and what are you left with? You would die of boredom. That’s what. Maybe that is the reason for the bonding. The collar. To keep you….” suddenly it dawned on her. THAT’S IT. The collar. She then lowered her head and dragged her finger through the dirt humming quietly. <3>

IceTe3a: He gave the wolf a heavy pat on the back as it panted in joy at his touch he smiled as he watched Nip feel sick about what he was saying this made him chuckle slightly as he closed his eyes “What you say is true but what you actually have after I have destroyed everything is a clean slate for nature to restart and correct its mistakes, Besides I’m never bored. I can plane shift to other world’s as I please” he smirked and arched a brow “Nothing escapes my judgment” the wolf nuzzles his hand and starts to chew on it with his sharp teeth, Ice lays there and watches the wolf as its fangs slightly pierce his skin leaving a graze mark that slowly starts to heal itself over time. “All things die, those who are unlucky enough to fall under my gaze die, It is the way of life. If it was not, where is your higher power to stop me dead in my tracks?” he chuckles as he shakes his head about collar “No I earned this when I was young a very powerful group of dark mages sacrificed their lives to create this collar around my neck for their own wicked ways, seeking to control me and my power they wanted to rule the world whilst using me as their weapon it is not through any fault of my own” he laughs as he closes his eyes.

CharlotteCarrendar: Nip had learnt early on that the daemon could not easily be used as a tool to destroy others. That was a very powerful lesson. The happy panting of the wolf just made Nip turn her head away. Again…Ice was on a roll. It was like he could talk underwater, and then some. She was unaware that his destruction would bring about a clean slate and that life would just start over. That in her mind was not how the world worked, but then he went on to say that he could just jump from world to world and never be bored, never run out of targets for his attacks. It was a loop, a cycle that had been unbroken for time eternal, that was until he was shackled to a young silver elf. All things die. He said. All that fall under his gaze…die. “I’m not dead yet.” The elf said, continuing to draw in the sand. But what the daemon could not see, was that the elf was drawing a special mark in the sand, one that formed into a silver like diagram. Was she magic after all? Was his magic blending with hers? Was that even possible? <3>

IceTe3a: Lying on the back of the wolf his head resting in its thick fur as it kept biting at his palm playfully. He had been summoned to this world by a evil witch who wanted to see it burn none the less, she had the right idea in mind Ice had not been here as of yet so no one knew of him oh the joys of finding new things to play with. Smirking slightly as the wolf shifts its weight bringing its big paw down on top of ice’s hand it tried to push it to the ground with a playful growl, it didn’t take much effort for Ice to keep his hand up teasing his new found pet . “No no you’re not, Irony is a cruel bitch at the best of times isn’t she, trust me If I was free we would not be talking” he smirked as he yawned slightly the night was still young with the crisp cool air and the fire crackling this was not Ice’s idea of fun but it was resting his body allowing him to gain his energy back for the time being, he had no idea what was really going on around him at this point.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The silver haired elf glanced back at the daemon, who was now using the large wolf as something of a pillow to lay on. As usual he was smirking, like he had all the aces in the deck. No one could defeat him for he was simply too powerful a being. Would his own self belief be his undoing? The elf snapped her head back, and let her eyes fall on the mystical symbol she was drawing in the dirt. Small sparks were giving off from the diagram as she tried not to make it so noticeable to the daemon of what she was doing. ~Let him talk~ she thought to herself. Nip knew his favourite subject was of course, himself. “Have you ever loved anything….or had anything fall in love with you?” Now there was a question that could keep him going for a while, as her fingers continued to work the dirt. <3>

IceTe3a: His ears perk, love… love.. he loved something? This made him bellow out laughing “Oh right, Love that pathetic emotion you guys hang onto so dearly” he shook his head and smirked “Never had I felt any emotion least of all love for something” he settled back down with a smirk and sighed slightly “From time to time there are females who, enjoy my ways. Although this does not stop me from.. Doing what I do best” he licked his lips and shrugged off “ Why are you so like a child? Really, Are you ‘special’ or what?” he was actually curious to know this as most elves he met were more mature if not snobby than this child was, and some elves were just right down assholes and bitches, she did not fit “Oh, you’re a mutt!! You must be, that would explain why you’re so… Not elfy speaking of interbreeding species where are your parents? “ he said with a chuckle “Oh I bet they think the world of their little thief.”

CharlotteCarrendar: – It was at that moment, the glinting of the magical emblem on the ground started to shimmer as the clouds above parted and the moon’s rays struck down on the Elf and the symbol. She had heard enough of his taunts, heard enough of his calling her a bastard. She was more important than he realized…more important to the scheme of nature than he could possibly have known. Charging her spell, she closed her eyes only to open them again, with the glistening of the sheerest blue that matched the emblem. All around was bathed in a bright light that was not holy…no this was something so powerful that it would startle the wolf even. The dragon within her coat chirped in fear as the emblem on ground spread and then sunk into the earth. The ground started to rumble, as the girl elf went to stand and turn around. Through his own power blending with her own she was able to craft weapons, with the help of the moon and the earth. First she stuck her hand into the earth and withdrew a large shield that was marked with the image of a silver dragon, the second time, she pulled out a sword, that shone with a special marking emblazoned as though by fire. Holding both she glowered at the daemon, her own power melding with his. “Oh but I am special.” The shield was for her own protection and that of her dragon. With a look of rage she screamed at Ice. “EYE FOR AN EYE!” and slashed her sword down so it would cut the head off the large black wolf.

Snorting angrily, her hair aflame with the moon’s rays she kicked the wolf’s head away and then drove the blood soaked blade into the earth. <3>

IceTe3a: Arching a brow as the wolf gets startled “Ahh… So that’s what you were doing, he chuckled slightly as his hues flicker over to her. Her hand delve deep into the ground as it pulls out a mighty shield adorned with the crescent of a silver dragon true irony right there, her other hand reaching for the moon as a blade appears in her hand of beautiful workmanship these were no mere weaponry much like his own weaponry they were forged with magic for the reason to carve the fates of lives. He watches as she screams out ‘Eye for an eye’ her blade with force slicing through the air with such precision it cleared the giant wolfs head off clean as it dropped to the floor and rolled over to her foot she kicked it into the darkness the body of the wolf falls limp onto the ground as it starts trailing out blood. She thought this would affect him as he appears quickly in a standing form as if he was never laying, the wolfs body above his head the blood drizzles down covering his face as it looks like he was almost bathing in it, kinking his head backwards he draws his mouth open as the flow of the wolfs blood pours out of the lifeless body into his mouth *Gulp gulp gulp* blood pouring down the corners of his lips as it trailed down to his neck his eyes ever watching the young elf as he finishes off the rest of the blood and throws the dry husk of the dead wolf behind him into the darkness. “Oh but Nip.. you think I care for that creature? A mere servant of mine, one of many” he chuckles as he watches her sword tip fly straight down into the dirt he appears just in front of her as he kicks the tip of the blade up into the air so her arm and the blade was extended out towards him the tip almost pressing against his bare chest “You should know.. The reason why I cannot be killed.. Is because I have no life to be killed” little did she know that Ice’s life force was transferred into a large gem that lays bedded into a demonic necklace, if one were to destroy the necklace it would surely kill ice for good, but many seek this necklace to control him not to kill him. His devilish hues glancing straight into hers as he tilts his head and walks forward the tip of the blade pierces his skin and dives deep inside of him cracking bone and flesh as it does blood drizzles down the edge of the blade as he continues walking until the blade appears a good 4 inches out of his back he raises his hands extending them outwards to his sides “What now dear nip? What is your plan now” he smirks, a twig snaps from behind as a head of a wolf appears walking out from the shadows towards Ice and then another… and another.. an entire pack of 12 Dire wolves just lingering in the darkness right before the light meets the dark the Main wolf bares it’s teeth as it lets out a hellish howl “I think you upset them” he smirks as his blood starts to drizzle down onto her hand that was holding the blade. “ You show a little teeth to bluff with the king of hell himself? You’re going to have to try a lot harder to attempt to keep me in line child” an evil laugh cackled from his lips as the wolves slowly start to pace forward into the light. Ice grips the hilt of the blade just in front of the sword as to make sure she could not move it at all. “Do tell me there is more to your plan than just a small light show?”

CharlotteCarrendar: The wolf was nothing to Ice than a mere servant. Nothing in the world meant anything to him. They were either in his way or could be used to his advantage. The drinking from the beheaded body only reinforced his disregard for the ending of the Wolf’s life. He wasn’t even shocked by the power that the Elf did have, though you would have thought he might have been a tiny bit impressed. The Master of deception. Nip breathes in through her nostrils, as the Daemon makes his move, kicking her blade from where the tip rested in the earth so that her arm would be brought up and the tip of the blade would now be facing his chest. Nip prepared herself for the oncoming of an attack, but what he did and said….shocked her to the core. He wasn’t even alive. And he wasn’t dead. He was the unholy as he proved this by impaling himself on her blade, letting it drive right through him. The sickening squelch of bone, muscle and flesh was horrifying. Nip’s eyes showed the reflection of Ice’s eyes as he bright himself right into her with the blood now running down over her hand. The pair were now facing off, far closer than they had ever been before. The vile daemon and the moon elf. She grit her teeth and turned the blade just to hear his insides crack further. Not that it would hurt him, but in a way to show she was no longer afraid. But then the sound of many other wolves approaching could be heard. Her eyes flickered towards the sight as they crept out and snarled angrily at her for the act of beheading the lead. Nip’s head turns slowly back to stare at Ice as he gripped the hilt of the blade to make sure she couldn’t move. The wolves were his servants….but there was one thing. If they were his, then in part they were hers. Gripping her fingers around the shield handle, the moment a wolf came anywhere close she would use it to lash out to strike a wolf and knock it flying. “I’m not afraid of you!” she screamed at Ice as she tried to push the blade in deeper. <3>

IceTe3a: He chuckles as he watches her petrified face, up close and personal she finally realized just what and who he was, as the blade stuck out of his back the blood continued to drizzle. The wolves start a circling motion as around the pair slowly snapping at the air and growling, ever slowly coming closer as he arches a brow her face goes firm she obviously found some courage left over. ‘I’m not afraid of you!’ she screamed out trying to re assure herself. The pack of wolves vanish into thin air as he smirks he feels her press forward with her hand trying to drive the blade in deeper, in which he lets go of the blade in turn causing her to ram the blade in as deep as it will go, the edge of the hilt pressing up against his chest as her body presses against his she would be able to see the entirety of the blade sticking out from his back as he stood there “Are you sure about that?” he chuckled slightly as he stood there allowing her to examine the blade that was now penetrating his entire chest and back. His eyes flash a dark black color he was up to something, but what? He starts to whisper ever so lightly into her mind but his lips weren’t moving, she wasn’t afraid than he was going to show her what he has done, everyone he’s killed, all the castles, cities and entire planets he has laid waste to each blood dripping detail and the best part, she would see it through his eyes as if she was actually him, the chant prepping itself. The collar did not react as it was not a harmful spell as the collar only stopped Ice from harming her physical body. “What is true fear? Fear of the unknown perhaps?” whispers into her mind “ Thief.. Child..” this all repeated though out the stages “Think how proud your clan would be, having bound the very king of hell, having him under your controlling hand. But who controls who really? Is this all real? Or are we just back in the cave and I’ve been playing with your mind the entire time?” he was now playing mind games with her, his whispers into her mind ever so hinting her to guess what was real and what was fake, his eyes still glowing as the chant was almost complete and ready to allow her to see everything he has done in his eyes.

CharlotteCarrendar: – Hurting one’s physical body was one thing, but to attack the mind was something else entirely. He wanted to hurt her but in a way that the collar could not possibly stop. Whispering his words with unseen movement of his lips, the pairs eyes were locked and that is when the real struggle began. The images and voices heard as though she was the Daemon herself. She could see every death, every city that fell at his hand. He was ruthless and without care for life in any sense. Nip’s body trembled and quaked as within her jacket pocket the small baby dragon was clutching on tight to her Mistress. ~What is fear…what is true fear?~ The horrors were unimaginable and she was unable to close her eyes. She could not get him out of her head. She clutched the weapons forcefully as the blade was still deep within the daemon’s chest. Reality was fast slipping from her, like everything around was becoming warped and fuzzy, but then she heard it. The cry of the baby dragon, and then her heart beat accelerated. The symbol on the shield of the silver dragon illuminated brightly. In order to fight hell, she was going to have to dig deep inside herself to send it from her own mind. She snapped her eyes shut as her mind raced and flickered and then when she placed her own fingers over Ice’s after he told her not touch him her eyes burst open and she sent back her own images. A great silver dragon, on which she rode….it breathed a white fire flame and with all the majesty the pair released a powerful blast that would have Ice fall back from the sword that he had been holding onto. What he witnessed…was the future. <3>

IceTe3a: He was showing her his past, everything he had done her body was trembling onto his as he knew she was watching without the ability to do anything about it. He was sharing memories, blood all over her hands this was something she would not likely forget for awhile. He felt her trying to get out of it as he continued with more power try to show her more but she was putting up a good fight in resisting. Suddenly the baby dragon chirps as the next thing he knows he feels her hand covering his eyes as a white flash comes from her palm he finds himself standing somewhere remote what was this? She obviously had magic of her own this much was obvious. “Impressive..” he slipped passed his lips as he looked on the Roar of a mighty dragon echoed as he looked up a giant white dragon flying over head the beast was larger than an ordinary dragon as its heavy wings flapped. Standing on top of the dragon was a white haired female on closer expectation he realized it was none other than Nip, the dragons mouth opens as pure white fire flows freely from its mouth with a mighty roar it filled the sky lighting up the darkness. So.. she was his counterpart, how interesting to find her in this world, but her of all people? Obviously she had not been awakened yet, oblivious to who and what she was she held immense power within her. Suddenly he gets sent flying back into the air the blade rips from his chest leaving a decent amount of blood sent flying into the air as well. His body starts to heal the wounds and broken bones slowly as he comes back to reality his body mid flight as the chain pulls at his collar it sends him flying fast over towards Nip and straight under her as he started flying in the air and falling down onto the ground landing hard on his back “Ugh.. fuck me” he said softly

CharlotteCarrendar:- When Ice landed with a sickening sound on the ground at her feet, Nip slowly lowered the blood covered sword as though what she had just seen both from her perspective and his could never be unseen. She was panting and staggered back. She didn’t understand what had happened between them, as the death and killings she saw were so powerful and twisted, it marred her mind. He was the King of Hell….and she was just an elf. Right? The truth however was far more dangerous. Nip placed the sword in the fire and the flames licked off the blood of the daemon, before she retracted it and then rammed it into the earth with the shield leaned up against it. Nip was mentally and physically drained. She sank to her knees and then lay down on the grass, while the dragon curled up inside her pocket. For now….both elf child and her dragon would sleep. No more could the torturous words of the daemon harm her. She had seen Hell….and survived. Tommorow was another day….but for this night, the battle was over. But who won? <3>
