-The moon shone through silver clouds, that floated effortlessly across a blackened sky, the halo created by the sun’s reflection on the moon, allowed enough light to filter down, basking all in its glow. The soft sounds of snoring came from high above in the tree itself, mixing in with that of the other woodland creatures, the overall effect, a symphony of sounds. The odd leaf would find its way through the break in Charlotte’s web, and flitter down to fall upon Laguna, just as he were to take the half eaten carcass to be disposed of. The spider maiden had commented before, that she never dreams. Perhaps she meant this for she simply did not get enough sleep. This night however, a belly full of the blood of the doe, the bedding so high up in the oak, had her swaying gently, rocking her to sleep with ease, that she did dream. A battle ground, thousands of men all wearing Nemauen uniforms, fighting against…against…Ariko. Charlotte tossed her body to the right as more leaves would fall from her makeshift bedding. An eye peering out of the red glow….a mutilated body walking towards her, only to crackle, break and collapse in on itself. The scene would fade to black, before another scene took its place. A field of flowers, stretching out for miles. Charlotte standing on a small hill, wearing a simple cotton dress, that barely touched her knee. Her hand touching the flower buds, that bowed and swayed to the uplifting breeze. Her name was called, distinctly male, and she smiled, turning her head to look back over her shoulder. Then there was the whistling sound….of a bullet….Charlotte sat up in her webbing, eyes open…a look of terror on her face, but still asleep. Asleep with eyes wide open.

– Laguna made his way down a small embankment, the moisture in the air guiding him towards a nearby lake reserve where he would be able to discard of the carcass properly. He intended to cut it into strips; scattering them so that others creatures of the night may also feast. In his eyes, the doe was a gift and none of it was going to go to waste. It was quite ironic however that he didn’t have any of the meat himself, and even more ironic that he never intended to, it was just a play on words to get Charlotte to eat. It mattered not now, she was slumbering soundly. Or at least he believed she was. He kept an ear to her as he strode down the slope, a fairly slow pace as he was in no rush to sleep and the carcass was hardly heavy to one such as him. He continued. Then stopped, dead in his tricks, his brow a little furrowed, thinking. His thoughts were his own, but he clearly identified a tension with her, in the air, the aura around her. He had no idea what it was, for Laguna did not have the ability to see into the thoughts and dreams of others. Or at least, he didn’t know that he did. This feeling passed however and he made it to a nearby stream, excellent for masking the smell so that it was not overpowering to all creatures. He cut the carcass finely into strips within a minute or so, dousing every part in water to cloud the smell. He didn’t want half the forest coming to where they slept. He threw every part in different direction. This was not a question of mere feet, Laguna had quite the throw on him, and making sure it was far enough a distance. Upon finishing, he placed the bones in the river, for it would find a further use there. And with that he made his way back, with every step feeling Charlotte and her nightmare. Upon reaching the bottom of the tree, he peered up to her, leaping into the tree with such a precision and grace that not a sound was produced from him doing so. He looked down at her face. She was clearly having a bad episode. “Funny” he thought to himself. “I thought she didn’t dream….” He was not about to disturb the innermost thoughts of another however, he regarded that part of creatures sacred and to invade such a thing would be wrong in his own mind. He moved to leap down to his resting spot, delayed by the opening of her eyes. He narrowed his vision, closing his eyes as if concentrating as he looked into them…further….further….He bolted upright with shock. The hues of her eyes told the story, as if on the reverse of a camera lens, backwards and transparent. Was it that he could see it, or was it that she was doing this magic herself? He didn’t want to find out. He cast his glance away from hers, leaping down and sitting himself on the ground, propped up against the tree branch. He folded his arms and closed his eyes; one thought running through his head…”Who is Ariko…?” –

-Eyes are the windows of our soul, they reflect all we see, and to stare into them, you can often find yourself, drawn into them. Some are lovers, some are friends, others are strangers. All gazing into the eyes of the bebilith could see, the tale being played, a dream, a dream she normally did not have. Was it a premonitions  Was it a look at her end? Her eyes remained open, but her mind was trapped in the dream. Her webbing bed quivered beneath her, as she herself trembled. No sounds escaped her lips, no cry out in shock, or pain. Soon her eyelids fell, and her body simply slipped back into her webbing hammock, as the dream was at its end. She would wake of course, but not yet. The worst was over, and one can only imagine what was waiting for her after the whistling of the bullet. An hour or two would pass, the moon crossing the inky black sky, precious clouds hiding many a star, and soon the eyes of the bebilith, brilliance in jade, flashed open, and with her night vision, she was now able to see all around her quite clearly. Stretching and making a light hissing sound, she rose from her bedding and clamoured down the tree. (Charlotte)”Wakey Wakey.” -she said, and it seemed the spider maiden, did not remember the dream.

LagunaEverae: – Laguna, now a little more settled as he propped himself up against the tree, crouched down with his knees high and his shoulders low, began to place himself in a state of mind, a limbo. A place where he could hear and even feel all around him, but his inner self slightly disconnecting itself from the real world, allowing that part of his brain to sleep, the part that needed it at least. It was quite a nifty trick to learn, to say the least. He didn’t focus on her dream, nor dwell on the fact that he could see through the glaze of her opened eyes, the nightmare that was occurring. He simply refused to believe that he had another ability that once again, he had not asked for. On this occasion however, he appeared to be right, it wasn’t anything to do with him and the spider maiden was relaying it to him through her jade eyes. Laguna would stay exactly where he was for an hour or for 56 minutes and 12 seconds if you were to ask him before he rose to a stand, opting to go a walk to clear his head. The sun was already beginning to rise by this point and he decided to make use of an old looking tree that was nearby. Breakfast would be better cooked over an open flame to say the least. He spied the tree, walking up to it and assessed it as usual, his sea blue orbs flickering quickly from side to side. He then took his blade from upon his back and propped it sideways against the tree, taking off the upper parts of his clothing for the slight workout that was to come. When he had finished, he was completed naked on the upper torso side of things, the only parts on him the spiked arm bracelet of sorts that he had on and the necklace that dangled around his neck, its silver glistening in the morning sun. He began to chop into the bark, not rushing himself-CharlotteCarrendar: – ~Chop …Chop….Chop…Chop~ came the sound, metal blade, striking the tree trunk….over and over, Laguna’s body, his upper torso, glistening in persperation, running down his back and shoulders. She brought her hand up to her chest, her heart beat rapidly. She blinked, and then closing her eyes, she inhaled his musky scent, so very male. Her full lips parted and with a releasing of air from her lungs, and with long slender digits, smoothing out the suit, before uttering – ~ahem~ “I will got wash my hands, and face, in the stream just nearby to be ready for breakfast and then we can be on our way again.” If he heard her, he would have captured the light smile she offered him. The dream was not recalled, but Laguna, he knew. Trapsing down to the water’s edge, cool and bubbling happily across rock and stones, the darting of tiny fish, their scales reflecting the slithers of light that stream through the canopy overhead. Cupping her hands together, Charlotte kneels on the grassy bank, and she scoops up the fresh clear waters, and brings it to her lips, drinking and feeling it run down her throat, relieving her of the dryness from when she slept. Another mouthful and then she splashes the water across her face, cleansing it of dirt, repeating this till her skin is clear once more. Her reflection wavers, from the ripples of water, as droplets fall from her fingers and cheeks. Licking the last drops from her lips, she places both hands down on the grass either side of her and pushes herself up to standing, twisting her body, and placing out her right foot, heading back to Laguna, ready for the next part of their day. Breakfast.-

LagunaEverae: – He bored into the wood, chopping away at a suitable level, neither breaking into a stride nor a sweat, this was an enjoyable pace. Amongst the crisp sounds of the blade etching into the wood with a crack and tear, he heard the dainty footsteps of the other from his other ear. Just a light scratching of underfoot, the sound of crushed grass and the like. He came to a stop, launching the blade over his head to hold it at right angles as his muscular body contorted and bulged with the simplest of movements. He wiped his brow with his still gloved hand and politely smiled, nodding his head before returning to the task at hand. A few more strikes and the small to medium sized tree would collapse. As Charlotte was long gone from the area by the time it fell, the clichéd call of “Timber” was deemed unnecessary. Partly also contributing to the fact was that Laguna would catch the falling log and merely place it on the ground, once again taking his blade to it, albeit this time they were short sharp strikes to break the wood into little pieces for firewood. An effortless task for him, by the time the other had returned he would have everything that was needed and was almost finished building a small nest of wood for the flame to burn upon. The blade came crashing down into the last piece of wood, Laguna opting to leave it there as he stood to his full, magnificent height to greet the other. “ Good morning” was the simple and genuine greeting that trilled from his lips as he dried his shoulders and neck with his clothes before putting them back on once more. “I thought you might like a spot of food, anything in particular?” he asked as his mind raced to himself, the thoughts of processing. “Squirrels.Three.47 meters to the west. Wild Boar. Trickier. 54 meters, using trees for cover. Deer. Moved on. Too far. Fish. Stream. Personal choice. Listen” –

-Charlotte stretched, raising her shoulders and let out a yawn, returning from the creek, where she had washed her face and gotten a drink. Laguna offered her a good morning, along with making preparations for what would be a camp fire in order to cook her breakfast. “I thought you might like a spot of food, anything in particular?” Laguna asked, having dressed himself once more, no longer bare chested as he was cutting wood. Charlotte tilted her head, thinking for just a moment, not really sure what was on offer this far out from Lorewall. Not exactly near Subways. “Well, I truly don’t mind, I mean, you know the woods here better than I. And, I am not entirely sure what is native to this part of the world. She reached up with her right hand, scratching her cheek, and you could see she was having a hard time coming up with an answer. “I…happened to see some fish in the creek where I just took a drink. Maybe that would make a nice breakfast.” she offered.

-He watched and assessed her body language, her tone; her hesitance at certain foods to help him in helping her decide in what is was she was to have for breakfast. From her reply, she did not seem particularly fussed on anything. Indifferent. This was not good enough, he wanted a different type of reaction altogether. One of enthusiasm, of will. The scratching of her cheek. Indecision. Confusion, even. The tapping of her single digit on her lips as she tried to satisfy him with an answer that would never come. He decided to help, it was clear that food and the forest was not something that she was accustomed to. Just as he did begin to speak, she offered a small piece (Charlotte) “I….happened to see some fish in the creek….” Was the beginning, to which he smiled and replied? “They are particularly bony and small in this area. Hardly a meal unless pushed” His mind was busy processing options and opportunities, till one instantly became apparent to him. “What about pheasant?” He asked, his orbs flickering and shifting from side to side to see the reaction in her eyes. “There is a nice sized one behind me, some 25 meters. Female. Plenty of meat to be had” –

CharlotteCarrendar:- “Pheasant?….they have those here?….I thought they died out. Must have thought of something else. But if they are meaty, then that would be lovely.”- Charlotte answered, a nod and she was sure now of what she wanted. “Are they fast birds?…Not really familiar with them. Vultures on the other hand, Oh I have seen those, filthy things, opportunists. Have to hang around for something to up and die, not go in attacking whilst its still kicking.” So, she was rabbiting on, the toe of her left boot twisting in the dirt as she explained her take on the local wildlife. But then she had to ask, a question, one that had been dogging her from since the time they met. “How is it you know exact distances of the things you hunt, or hunt you?”

LagunaEverae- “Indeed” he said in response to her query, noting the genuine thirst for knowledge that appeared to emanate from around her. Indeed, to Laguna, her brain activity was above normal at this time, another ‘gift’ he was able to see, as it were. “They are moderately common, choosing to forage around the dawn, where they are at the lowest risk of being hunted. Those in question are a 4 I believe, two mated pairs” he added, using his hands to usher his words along. “They can be quite fast I suppose. Maximum ground speed of 22 mph and a flying speed of probably more. Nothing that is not obtainable to me” he said matter of factly. Most of these questions would fly off his tongue with ease, the answers seemingly pre-empted in his head ready for use. Except for the last one, this was always a little more detailed in depth. “It is not that I do not have the ability to answer your question.” he quipped, as he rubbed his gloved hand along the bottom of his chiselled jaw. “But to me, the real question is ‘How do others NOT know…” his hand now extended out to nominate Charlotte as the ‘other’ in this analogy. “ I believe I process things in much the same way as others do. Yet due to the nature of others seemingly not having this ability, it must be the result of us pol….” He stopped himself before correcting rather nervously “of a species like trait”. “I move at normal pace for instance, yet to others it is deemed fast. A series of small gestures. Yet it seems I move too fast for your eyes to see….” He tailed off, thinking upon his own statement to himself for a moment- “It is a mix of lots of things. The wind, the temperature, the disturbance in the atmosphere. Sounds. Sound assists me a lot” he finished, seemingly hinting that his own sense of feel and hearing were in the same category as the former statement –

CharlotteCarrendar:- “22mph…gosh. Quick little buggers.” -Charlotte clearly impressed with the speed of a pheaseant. “And four, all out for a morning stroll, foraging for food, just like us.”- she smiled, and dug her hands in her pockets, swaying back and forth, heel to toe and back again. Laguna seemed to know a great deal about pheasant, so much so, that she was getting quite the lesson, her feral barrage of questions being answered with considerable ease. “Uh huh….uh huh….Oh…didn’t know that…uh huh.”-she answered, a bright smile forming upon crimson stained lips. Her final question however, did bring something of a jagged response, and she actually stopped fidgeting, this now becoming more than interesting, for it was akin to unmasking a great hero. He started off well, naturally, his hand rubbing his chin, and explaining that it was not that he didn’t have the ability to answer her question, but the fact he seemed gob smacked that she didn’t know. Charlotte was of reasonable intelligence, though her chosen field was something far removed from the likes of the forest. “ I believe I process things in much the same way as others do. Yet due to the nature of others seemingly not having this ability, it must be the result of us pol…*he did pause at this point, Charlotte’s face looked as though she anticipated what the word pol would finish to be, but was let down when he managed to save himself, correcting his course of action. “of a species like trait” -he finished. “Rigggght.” – Nope, that didn’t convince her, and she slipped her hands out of her pockets and folded her arms. Laguna went on to explain, that though he moved at normal pace, he could actually move much faster, But to conclude, he said simply, “It is a mix of a lot of things” Charlotte unfolded her arms and sighed softly. How come he wouldn’t truly open up to her. Was she that untrustworthy due to her heritage? Nah, it wasn’t that. Charlotte had not shown off her true self as yet, so it was fitting, that Laguna would only speak of his world in passing.

CharlotteCarrendar: – This would be the start of the journey that would take many days, for Lorewall was not simply a hop skip jump from Laguna’s forest, but in fact much further, though, Charlotte knew Nemaues like the back of her hand. What few failed realise, was that while on the surface for many it was a place of the sons of Adam, and those that did not share the creator, often where from the underworld, and abyssal planes. The snow covered fields, dotted with heavily laden snow cover, began to thin out, the sun rising, the snow began to melt, exposing tufts of green, lush underfoot, flowers, speckled, like fairies had painstakingly hand painted each one all the colours of the rainbow. Was a beautiful sight to behold, but Charlotte did not stop to make daisy chains or frolic in the grasses. She released Laguna’s hand, as she pressed on, finally coming to a large oak as the sun was setting. There were many boughs and branches, on which to sleep, and Charlotte placed her clawed hands upon the trunk, looking skyward for somewhere suitable. “Let us camp here. We can make good start time in the early hours before the sun rises across the eastern planes.”

LagunaEverae: – The journey would be no problem to a forest weathered and physically fit Laguna. His favourite thing to do was walk, travel. He had often been heard to say that “I travel not for purpose, but to go. To travel merely for travels sake. The great affair is to move” And so they set off, occasionally exchanging chit chat about the surrounding flora and fauna, but mostly quietly. He knew of where Lorewall was to be, but had deliberately not entered its lands. There were parts of this area that were quite busy and bustle, and Laguna had always previously kept himself clear of such places. He knew they were nearing when the previously lush and snow white landscape gradually came to turn into a colourful and vibrant green, complete with flowers and the like. However, it became prominent that they were not going to reach their destination on this day. Charlotte was to make the first move in this regard, opting to use a sturdy tree for safety. He heard her intention to camp and sleep using this bark, to which he merely nodded and smiled his usual dimpled smile, lingering the look for perhaps a moment before recalling he always hated the way he looked when he did so. “Please, rest. I will stay at the base and keep watch. I do not need to close my eyes to sleep particularly….” –

CharlotteCarrendar: – “You sleep with your eyes open?” – Charlotte’s jaw dropped, intrigued by this notion. “I know I like to close mine in slumber, but then again…some nights, I can stay awake till dawn, I think its usually when in full form.” By full form, she meant when she was a lumbering two tonne arachnid, not the prettiest creature in the world, but certainly one of the most unusual. Charlotte turned and leaned her back against the bark of the trunk and gently slid up and back, as though giving herself a scratch without using her hands. “Oh this feels so good.”- eyes closing, the gentle brush as the bark flaked away, scattering on the ground. Suddenly, she thought that he may think her odd,and she stepped away, flicking the back off her back, with her arms, before surveying the area. Her stomach growled long and low, a sign that she was in fact very hungry. “Not exactly a restaurant out this far…and heh, not going to eat you…so…hmm.” -she tapped her lip a couple of times, eyes darting right and left, wondering what to do for a meal. Sure enough she spots a large caterpillar, crawling up the side of another tree, and trotting over, Charlotte snatches it off, taking a bite of the head…well she thought it was the head, and started to chew. She held out the half eaten caterpillar and said with her mouthful. “Vanttzz somezz?”

– He tilted his head downwards and to the side as he peered down to her somewhat confused reply. “I am capable of sleeping with my eyes open yes. The eyes are only the window to the soul, if one was to meditate truly, one would find that they can enter a state of limbo, neither asleep nor awake, but repairing and resting tired muscles “ he replied, his voice so matter of fact as usual. He acknowledged her mention of her full form, having a good idea in his mind as to how she would look. “If it makes you more comfortable to be in full form, please go ahead.” He said, devoid of any notion that he would mind such an occurrence. He watched her slink against the tree; using the edgy loose bark as a tool for the purpose of itching. He did not mind this either truth be told and managed to stifle a smirky grin, clearly amused. He heard her stomach grumble, he didn’t need his exceptional hearing to identify this particular noise. He heard her pine for food and added. “There is plenty of food; one just needs to look…” he began to say, with the intention of finishing the sentence but as he did so the other seemed to become distracted by a tiny caterpillar, disembowelling it by the tail, (incorrectly) and chomping on like she hadn’t had a meal in days. He smiled, holding out one of his huge hands openly “I am fine thank you. I can find you some food if that is what you would like, if there any preference as to what at all?” –

CharlotteCarrendar: – He held out one of his large pan hands, politely declining her offer for the half eaten caterpillar. She shrugged and popped the remainder in her mouth, crunching noisily. Soon it was all but gone, and she rubbed her stomach. Laguna took her words of going to full form literally, and she shook her head. “I usually only do that when..*she pulled back on finger as to use it to demonstrate counting*, I am in danger, or..*pulls back a second finger*…mating season and I am looking to lay eggsacs. And to be honest, just done that….with no intention of having more any time soon.” Charlotte said with a light chuckle.”Now…bedding.”- Charlotte made a sudden run at the tree, and with a burst of speed, she climbed up to a place where there were two large branches, that if there was something used to act like a hammock between the two, that this would be the perfect bed for her. Using the glands in her wrist arteries, she commenced weaving a light weight but sturdy hammock, that was long enough, that Charlotte could lay in it easily On completion, she slided herself onto the hammock of webbing and with a large branch of leaves, she shook them, to form a makeshift pillow. “I can’t remember the last time I dreamed.” An honest statement coming from the spider maiden, who closed her eyes, to the tune of the owl and creatures of the forest, their voices raised, just enough, to lull her into sleep. Darkness filling her senses, her eyelids closed.

– Laguna’s style of food was most associated to meat, although he had been known to forage and eat mushrooms and edible plants. Much like the rest of him, it was finely tuned and honed to withstand days without food without any noticeable problem. The time now however seemed right to hunt. It was not exactly a problematic solution for him. He watched her engulf the rest of said caterpillar, noting her response in regards to her full form, to which he replied as he peered upwards into the tree itself. “ I see, funny how you did not shift form earlier then. For you were scared, or at least, that is what your 137 heartbeats per minute told me….” He didn’t seem to wish for a reply to this as he leapt upwards into the tree itself and then pelted over to an adjacent one, peering outwards to the east. One may have thought that he was once again attuned to the forest and keeping an eye out for danger, but not this time. The young man was hunting, and this was how he did it. He would find his food without moving. He narrowed his brow and closed one of his eyes as they focused into the distance. “There” he said to himself, the source of this word a doe, some way off in the distance, though if asked, Laguna would have been able to say 674 meters. Keeping his one eye firmly fixed on the creature, he drew a small knife from a holster in his thigh, flicking it so the sharp end was now facing him. He waved it in front of him, seemingly aiming, and then without a moment’s pause, flicked it out of his hand, the speed immeasurable. It travelled for some few seconds without any noticeable sound, apart from to his ears; the sound of impact. “Be right with you” he peered across to Charlotte, who was now settling her bedding for the night. He disappeared into the forest, returning roughly about 90 seconds later, complete with a doe carcass. He placed it down by the foot of the tree, peering upwards once more to Charlotte, before asking “Would you like some?” –

-The hammock constructed from her own silk strand webbing, and the large boughs of the tree, provided Charlotte with comfortable bedding, since she was so far from home. As her eyelids drooped, her mind clearing, the darkness claiming this spider maiden, Laguna decided to be a bit more chatty, and questioned her about not going full morph when she was in fact scared. He had counted her heartbeats…fancy that? How does one argue, with a creature that can get the statistics of her movements and her own heart beat rhythm. “Its a little more complicated than a simple morph, I mean…you have no idea the terrible pain that accompanies such an event.” Yes, to her she viewed the pain of shifting between humanoid and arachnid as in fact, a type of curse. “Sometimes in order to gain…you must experience pain.” -she raised her head up from the small pile of leaves that she used as a pillow. Both eyelids open and her emerald green hues were staring down at him in the darkness of night. “”There” -she heard him say. “Where?”- Charlotte called down, wondering just what he was seeing now. Propping herself up with one arm on a larger branch using her elbow to help her see further down the road. And off he was, like a bullet fired from a gun….so quick, so agile. What did he seek? The ones that wished him dead? No, turns out he was hungry too, with a loud thud, a doe, a female deer was dropped at the feet of the tree. She sniffed the air, the smell of the freshly caughtt doe. (Laguna)”Would you like some?”- Charlotte stretched, rolling her shoulders, than sat up. “A true feed…Now your talking that caterpillar, that barely keeps me in good health.” Charlotte leapt out of her web hammock, and land not far from the doe. Red blood, the delicious aroma. She knelt beside the fallen doe, running her claws up and down it’s spine, licking her lips.

– He stared down at the now passed doe. This was not a creature he killed for fun; he did not do such things. In between killing it and retrieving it, he would have uttered the words in his head once more “Find peace in the embrace of the goddess” before the knife struck, perfectly as it would do, in its chest, puncturing its heart perfectly. As he peered down to it, he seemed to close his eyes and briefly meditate as if almost mourning its passing. It’s death was as instant as it could be and it lay there still warm, it’s eyes closed, no doubt by Laguna himself before he brought the carcass back. His silent prayer was interrupted by the landing of Charlotte, no doubt having changed her mind somewhat to the red meat feast before her now. He referenced her previous reply when he was already up the tree scouting this meal, merely stating “I understand. I am sorry for bringing it up” The tone, of his reply revealed nothing, but in his own mind Laguna knew exactly of what pain and hardship there was to be found by morphing. He actually knew more than most. He, as was the case 99% of the time, had merely not told his new acquaintance of his species and what they did. Ironically, a curse was exactly how Laguna viewed his ability to morph and such. He never asked for such a thing. Only 3 people in existence knew of what Laguna was, any others were now long gone. He had a good reason to not divulge this information to just anyone. It was hard enough for him to be seen as merely human as it was, he didn’t want to complicate things further. “Please, go ahead.” He stated, a slight smile forming for a moment as he turned to the left to watch the skies and sun setting. “12 minutes of light left…..”-

-Claws extending, eyes widening, smile growing, fangs elongated and descednding, and as soon as word given, she sliced back sections of the hide, exposing the pink flesh, the muscle beneath, which she would sink her teeth into, drawing out the life giving red fluid, which ran down her chin. Sweet sounds, suckling at the fallen doe, a life now given so that another may be nourished, its body still warm from the kill. Feeding, feeding…then falling back, not another mouthful, and the bebilith was satisfied with all she had just consumed. Charlotte commenced cleaning her chin and licking the blood from her claws, then fingers, before smiling at Laguna. “I can’t thank you enough, but now I return to my roost. The sun does set behind the hills and I know with a full belly, I shall join many creatures in slumber. Slowly she crawled up the tree trunk and slinked into the web hammock, curling up within the strands, content and relaxed. The final rays of sun would vanish, as the night sky came to be, illuminated by tens of thousands of stars. “Good night, Laguna.” -she said softly, as she drifted off to sleep.

– He watched her little ritual of preparing herself for the feast that was to come; a wide grin painted itself on her delicate face. She tucked into her meal with feistiness, indicating an appetite that had clearly not been satisfied in the last day or two. He didn’t watch her feed; nobody wants to be stared at when eating he thought to himself, he just watched the light fall and turn into the glittering darkness of the night forest, his sea blue orbs illuminated and twinkling in the moonlight. Satisfied; she thanked the young man; a simple nod of slight embarrassment was his acknowledgement of her thanks, albeit with an awkward eye contact before he looked to the stars once more. He listened to her climb up to her makeshift bed and settle in for the night, accumulating in a (charlotte) “Goodnight Laguna”. She was right; like many others at this time she would sleep and rest her head, perhaps safe in the knowledge that she would come to no harm if Laguna was to stay awake, which he surely would. She was not like the other. Back in his own thoughts, he was a tortured soul, built and bound by instinct to do what he did, rebelling against it but having no power to challenge what he was. Charlotte was long asleep before Laguna rose up and tended to the half-eaten carcass; he lifted it and straddled it across his shoulder, before looking back and upwards towards the slumbering spider, smiling to himself and saying “Goodnight Charlotte” before heading off to dispose of the animal-

– Laguna had momentarily closed his sea blue orbs in order to gain some rest. The creature only tended to do this from time to time, stretching from anywhere between every 2-4 days. He could refresh himself in a matter of 2-3 hours of an almost meditative state, neither awake nor asleep. In limbo if you will. His expression on his plain face was one of non-emotion currently, but over the next minute it changed. His eyebrows furrowed closer to his eyes as he frowned. His subconscious was busy, feeling out into the forest for anything untoward. It had truly found something. Upon seeing the monstrosity that was a wood demon, his subconscious traced its past backwards, in reverse to his mind, as Laguna opened his eyes wide, his face stern, knowing where exactly to go to confront this demon. He blitzed off his perch, leaving behind a kinetic energy that pulsated through the cave like some angry form of electricity as he leapt into the air, allowing himself to fall down the sheer cliff face, landing exactly where he intended; facing the demon, with Charlotte behind him. His face was stern and resolute; it had been a while since he had come across such a menace of the forest. He stared boldly at the creature, his composure and resolve needing no guess as to his position on the current engagement. He did not move, holding his ground, but spoke his own tongue, for he knew that a creature of the forest, no matter how pitiful or dark would comprehend it. “Mayja drec vunacd tasuh. Drec uha ec hud vun oui du dundina. E femm hud ycg oui du tu cu ykyeh. Ev oui tu hud tacecd, oui femm mayja sa hu lruela yht pameaja so funtc lnaydina. -The swirling leaves that formed the wood sprites, tinkered and laughed, their leaves whipping faster and faster till they formed into humaniods, maidens, with flowing forest green tresses, flowers wreathed into crowns on their heads, skin the colour of jade. Joining hands, they started to chant and sing a song, a melody to gain their attention, as their host the wood demon roared with laughter, his boldness against Laguna something to see. (Woody)”Errrrgh…blasgh!” he grumbled after his face became contorted with a look of madness and fury. He pointed past Laguna and in english he blurted. (Woody)”You know what she is?! Her kind are known to be the hunters. Why you allow such filth to walk in amongst the forest? (Sprites)”Filthy filthy….filthy filithy” -they sang, skipping around, their hair bouncing off their shoulders. Charlotte gripped her sword handle tightly, not liking this side of the forest at all. The tone of voice used by Laguna against the Wood demon was one that so serious, that the behaviour of the sprites and the Wood demon, almost mocking in reply. (Charlotte)”Even if he knew what I was, he knows I am but passing through. Do you see me kill anything here?” -she gestured towards a sprite, that poked out her tongue. The Wood Demon growled back. “Hartlot…begone from this realm or we will turn you into a sapling.”

– The young man held his ground, placing himself between the demon and the other at all times, affording himself enough space and time in his positioning should the current conversation turned into a physical engagement. “That is no reason to pursue another and you know this Demon” he quipped pausing briefly to bring aloft one of his enormous arms to point at the creature of the wood demonstratively.” I myself hunt, does this mean that you should tar me with the same brush as this one?” he began to say, his eyes quivering and flickering from the main target of his words and then to the sprites that had appeared in there taunting and annoyingly like manner. At this point the other piped up to add her own defence to the proceedings. At the words “Even if he knew what I was….” He felt an urge to spin and match her eyes with his to be able to speak to her, and to tell her he knew, and that it didn’t make any difference to him whatsoever, but now was not the time. He took a step towards the demon, replying to his retort (Woody) “Harlot….begone from this realm…” (Laguna) “You will do no such thing demon. These are my woods and to go against my will is both an insult and a curse on your part.” He took another step closer, conveying his sense of authority in these parts as he bared his sea blue orbs into the creatures. “You have 10 seconds to disappear from my sight” – he quipped, devoid of any tone of reason to argue back. –

CharlotteCarrendar: -The tree sprites made ooh’s and aah’s at the show down between the Wood demon and Laguna. Charlotte wanted to show her prowess with the sword, but they were after all just sprites, spirits of the trees, and cheeky ones at that. The main Wood Demon, was now enraged by the tone of Laguna, the time limit offered to dissappear would run out as the lumbering tree demon decided to take his chance, drawing his right bough back, long sharpened wood claws extended, he slashed it in an aim towards Laguna’s left side, where he intended to slice through his tanned flesh hide. (Woody)”Creature of flesh are no might for that of the Tree demon…AHAHAHAHAAHA!” Charlotte squealed in a high pitch sounding voice. (Charlotte)”Laguna…look out!” The tree sprites cheered, dancing and flying into the air, picked up as if they were weighing nothing more than a pile of leaves.LagunaEverae: – His eyes never moved from being cast on the demon’s, and they still did not falter when he drew his bough back, casting it towards his side at speed. And still he did not move. The sharpened bark fingers of the demon were milliseconds away from their intended target. And barely a moment before the impact did Laguna make his move. A boom of psionic energy pulsed from his core as he burst into speed, bouncing high into the air, clamping onto a tree before somersaulting off it onto the top of the creatures head, merely using it as a stepping stone before flicking his shape to fully 360 the demon, his back now turned to Laguna as he landed perfectly, the same fixed stare as before. The kinetic burst sent the sprites into a frenzy, as if they were caught in some inner forest hurricane as they spun temporarily out of control. And once again he stood, waiting, the only new part being to make a single statement “That may well be true demon. If I was a creature of flesh as you so adequately put it. Perhaps you should use more than just your eyes” he quipped at him, now in much more of a fighting stance, though once again he did not engage to attack the creature. He had been warned and would now face the consequences of his failure to comply. –

CharlotteCarrendar: -The trees sprites, bound up and caught in the this hurricane of energy would be blasted into nothing more than falling leaves, scattering as the wind died down, some settling into Charlotte’s hair. Well that was one way to hush the trees, but Charlotte was amazed with how Laguna used his psionic energy to propel him up and over the Wood demon in a daring display of skill and acrobatics. Landing squarely, he spoke now with authority, a voice that commanded respect. “Perhaps you should use more than just your eyes” This had the Wood Demon dropping his own leaves, the colour of his face was now the darkest green. (Woody)”Death…to…you.!”- A sudden crack, the tall mighty oak beside where Laguna stood, started to uproot from the ground, as if stepping out of its grave, earth flying in all directiions. (Woody)”T…IMBER!”- the tree began to fall, headed right for Charlotte and Laguna.

LagunaEverae: – He heard the demon’s words. This particular one’s failing was to simply be unaware of who Laguna was and in particular, the command of this particular forest. HIS forest. True enough, Laguna had authority in any wood due to his previous good work in the past. But in the forest where he grew up, that he knew better than any other, it was slightly different. He beamed into his eyes as he watched it enraged, only mentally saying to himself as it stated the words (Woody) “Death to you” (Laguna) “As you wish my forest brother” was his final retort and he pulsed into the air above once more, now for the first time drawing the enormous blade that had adorned his muscular back. And enormous was the word too; it was almost as long as Laguna, and the young man was known to be quite the tall specimen himself. He came into contact with the falling tree, grabbing it as they both fell towards the forest floor, Laguna now gritting his teeth and roared out “nnnnnnnnnnnngggghhhhaaaaaaa!” as a pulse of kinetic energy emanated from his core and filtered outwards, carrying the massive tree out of harm’s way as it clunked and banged against its sill brethren. Laguna landed, and wasted no time; Holding his blade aloft and began to spin. Endless spinning. He was a blur. Then he was more than just a blur, he didn’t even appear there, just a whirlwind of energy and air. The faint outline of the blade made its way on a downward path towards the forest floor, now littered with bark. It came into contact and slowed it’s pace down immediately as it crackled its way through a medium sized tree that had fallen in the madness of the battle. It cracked and split. Laguna’s face was momentarily seen, once again, still on the eyes of the demon. The speed of the sword and the sheer kinetic force had forged it into a seething hot tool, and merged with the dry bark caught itself alight as Laguna twisted his wrist and stated matter of factly “ Find peace in the embrace of the goddess” before pulsing it towards the demon, a tree of fire –

CharlotteCarrendar: -The spinning of the blade radiated such heat the magnitude would cause the bark to catch alight and thus turn this tree to one of fire. Fire…the demon of fire the enemy of the Wood demon, would be laughing, cackling at this sight. The Wood demon panicked. (Woody)”No…no…NOoooOooooO!”- as the flames roared up its weathered bark and the glow of orange and red flames, licking across his surface illuminated the spdier demoness, who had been watching this most unsual battle. Within seconds he was engulfed, a blazing inferno, turning to white hot. Suddenly, the Wood demon explodes, sending a shower of hot ash, that landed upon the crisp white snow, staining it and marking its beauty. The battle done, Laguna the victor, and only fair, for it was his forest. None should be so bold to attempt to take him on in such a challenge. As the ash fell it scattered across the spider demoness who rose up. Again, she was indebted. He was today her champion. She slowly reached into her pocket and pulled out a small box, and then offered it to Laguna. “Open it please?”- if he were to he would find inside a fob watch, an heirloom. “Please accept this…as a token of my gratitude.”

LagunaEverae: – He stood, statuesque as his temporary foe had come to its end. The words he spoke when he knew an opponent’s life was to end was a poignant one; For he had no desire to do such a thing, hence the reason for his two warnings. He sighed outwards, his shoulders rising and falling as he stood plainly still, his back to Charlotte, his eyes for the first time falling slightly towards the floor almost in respect of the dead. He heard the other come closer, a fidget of clothes that alluded to her pulling out a small box, before speaking to his back (Charlotte) “Open it please.” It began, but the great man was barely even listening. Once again he was forced to take life from another. He uttered a silent reply, almost a whisper compared to his usual tone. “Keep it. I have no need for prizes, nor should I accept such an item as a gift of life. It is compassion, not reason, that is stronger than death” the latter part of the sentence said as he stepped forward into the forest, before turning to her, a solemn expression on his charred bark ridden face “There are no lines in nature, only areas of colour, one against another.” –

CharlotteCarrendar: – He refused her gift, the token in the small box, and glancing down at it in her hand, she closed her fingers over it once more. Slowly placing her hand into the depth of her pocket, she was somewhat dissapointed that he kept refusing thanks and appreciation. Tokens or gestures, they were heartfelt. So, she tried not to show on her face, the well of sadness, and so masked it instead. “Very well then. I leave you in good tidings, I suppose.”- she slumped her shoulders, and wandered on past him, finally taking out a compass, and then looked up to the sky. Gathering her bearings, she decided to back track to Lorewall, the city of the nation that held all the secrets of the young spider demon. The horizon would bare the glow of a thousand lit buildings, rising up high till touching the very clouds. “Come on feet…its a shorter journey if one makes haste.” Charlotte padded down through the snow, her boots dissappearing with each step, a light shake of her head, to allow the settled snowflakes to fall to the ground, her hands pushed deep inside her pockets.

LagunaEverae: – He practically felt her disappointment, it oozed from her like a sad mist unseen and invisible to the nose, but not to him…”Goddamit” he said to himself, caged within his mind as usual. “Don’t do this Laguna….” His conscience would say to him. “You cannot protect those you know, you have to be alone. You HAVE TO”. He gripped his fits, crunching them shut with a crackle of his knuckles as he argued with himself. “Not this time. I can do this. I have enough. I AM enough.” He broke out of this mental state long enough to call out to the departing Charlotte. “Wait….” He began to say as he walked towards her, sheepishly almost, his eyes not making contact, too embarrassed to admit that he thought he couldn’t protect her if he was to go with her. “Look….” He began to say again, now struggling to find words; he briefly gritted his teeth, mad at himself. (“Just spit it out”) “I appreciate the gift; you shouldn’t waste it on me. Truth is….there is nothing I would rather do than….” His eyes flitted upwards to momentarily. “Spend time…be around…just be… “he stalled, struggling with words, he was trying to basically say “Be normal”. He continued “It’s just……not simple. I do not enjoy being this way. I have to be. Forced to”-

CharlotteCarrendar:- The young Spider demoness came to an abrupt halt, having just planted her right foot down, deep into the snow. She had to admit, she was somewhat surprised he caught her up, after the relentless knock backs of thanks and gratitude. “Wait” Yes, a single word was enough to make her turn her head, and soon he was right beside her. She glanced up with her crimson hues, one eyebrow raised, now seeing for herself that he was in fact conflicted. His jaw clenched firmly, practically speaking through gritted teeth. It was like watching him trying to break a force of habit, he had held for a long time. He did appreciate her gift, but knew not how to react, without seeming as though he was taking her from her something that he did not deserve. Truth is….there is nothing I would rather do than….” Charlotte had a look on her face of expectation now, clearly his words were like he was opening up to her. Honesty in its purest form, though each phrase seemed laboured.* “Spend time…be around…just be… Be normal” Normality? Now that was a new one, if ever Charlotte had heard it before. She couldn’t hold it back, the smile that showed on her face, light and humorous. Not taking the mickey out of him, especially in such a revelation. Charlotte reached up towards Laguna’s forearm, her hand to make a cup shape as she went to pat it softly. “It is okay to just be. Seems harder than anything, to be normal. I often wonder, what normal truly is. Take me for example, I appear to you in a manner which would be deemed by many as pleasant and inviting, one you think is normal, but in truth, I to wear a mask, my entire being, glamour for your eyes.” -she lowers her head, as though this is something of an admission. “I could be as my maker intended, and live out my life to the order, the way of my brethren. However, that is not what I chose. A different path, and one that is spread in front of me, its ending I cannot see, but the journey is one I enjoy.” She offers her hand, outstretched, if he wishes to follow her, to Lorewall, and a new adventure.

LagunaEverae:- Conflicted was not even a true reflection of the curse that Laguna had to stifle every day of his life since he was about 8 years old. In truth, he didn’t even know what the term ‘normal’ held for him; he just seemed to know that this existence was not it. He clearly had a heart and the emotions that were tied to having one, but was seemingly trained, honed, bred even, to not feel such things. To say he was a constant contradiction in both the physical and mental sense would be a slight understatement. He listened to her reply, watching her as she patted his muscular, but warm air, no doubt feeling a slightly odd feeling at touching the flesh of a polymorph. It took getting used to, to say the least. He found it so difficult to express an eternity of feeling this particular way, and it would take a lot longer for him to open up more. She had already managed to make him speak more than most would have done in weeks. He clearly felt that there was a connection that should not be cast off, discarded. “I understand” he simply said to her. “I do not know why I am like…..” he tailed off, using both of his hands to cast a shadow on himself, as if he was preparing to bow. “This….” He looked to the side of her, furrowing his brow, trying exceptionally hard to make a connection between the thoughts that were in his head and relaying them in words that can be understand. He looked to the heavens and briefly nodded to himself. He would try. He turned back to Charlotte, looking right into her to assess her reaction, her surprise. “I know 19 possible methods of attack from where we are standing now. I also know of 24 possible escape routes from this spot. I know you have a weak spot on the underside of your left knee. I know the safest spot from here is 47 feet – the cave we have just come from, and I know that at this altitude and temperature, that I can run flat out at a speed of 31 miles per hours for 22 minutes before my arms start to shake….” He looked downwards for a moment before returning his eyes upwards. “Now why would I know that…..Why would I know that and not know who I am….” He looked to her outstretched hand, a promise of a change and the possibility of him finding his cause once more. Despite how he felt, he knew he would take it. And so he did. And so they walked towards her home, one that he himself had never seen before. Lorewall.-

CharlotteCarrendar: – Charlotte intertwined her fingers in Laguna’s, her digits much smaller, slender, and fitted well. “Then let this be our journey forth, to discover exactly who you are. You have such knowledge on all the arts of defence, yet, how can you truly protect what you do not know?” -her voice filled with concern as they padded their way through the snow. Lorewall seemed so far off in the distance, but would grow closer by the hour, their pace would be steady, though the snow made it hard going. She kept up the chatter, it was something she was known for, as the sun passed over the sky. “Do you always feel that you need to be on guard? Do you ever just…relax?”- Charlotte asked, clearly now intrigued, in what made Laguna….Laguna. “I mean, I know I get this tiny feeling on the back of my neck, and sometimes…in my gut.”- she prattled on.

LagunaEverae: – He watched her slinky little fingers intertwine with him, his enormous mitts almost completely encapsulating hers as they strode in the direction of his hometown and perhaps, for Laguna, a promise of purpose, of direction. He answered directly to the first question “I do not know why I have such knowledge. I didn’t even know I could do such things. They just ‘happen’ and afterwards I am left confused. It seems to be my purpose to do these things. I do not seem to protect for any reason, least of all knowing the reason why…” They continued onward, Laguna remaining as per usual; quiet unless spoken to, constantly on edge, constantly assessing, scanning, protecting his own self and the other. It was ironic really that she ask about this. Laguna slowed his pace a little upon the question, a knowing look on his face that seem to hint that he had clearly been asked this question before, many times. And a slight confused expression once more seem to tell its own story- He still didn’t know how to answer it. “I tend to feel more relaxed when I am on, as you say, on my guard. There are a lot of occasions where I have attempted to ‘relax’ as others do. And every occasion I have regretted doing so. It is weakness. It is easier this way…”

CharlotteCarrendar: – A dream. An ocean of black, that rocked and rolled, but she was not wet, she was in another place altogether, the snowy treetops had vanished, but instead she found herself almost floating, but brilliant sparkles all around her. Last thing she remembered was the warm chest of Laguna, and the tweaking of his nipple somewhat playfully. And then she was enveloped in darkness. A lucid dream? No. It was no longer cold, no chilly winds biting at her flesh, she was calm, there was no sound, but that of her own heart beating. Am I dead? No, Where am I? Questions….Questions….went on and on, as she floated, till suddenly she felt the touch of grasses and hay. Her fingers pushed through the tufts, and then she finally came around, and what met her gaze was the interior to a cave. “I fell asleep” -she uttered, as she tried to prop herself up. Looking slightly groggy, the effects of the kinetic nipple’s energy. The cave was out of the wintery winds, and Charlotte had at least that to be thankful for.She quickly gained focus and sat up, then drew her legs under her, as she scratched the side of her cheek. The femme fatale was replaced by a creature who was not so ready to jump him for her meal at this point in time. She had completely lost her bearings, and now, she had to rely on him, to help her find her way back. “Can you tell me….who was firing the arrows?” – Charlotte asked. “Does one hunt even you, Laguna?”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He watched the twilight forest as his ears twitched and flickered to the sounds of wildlife, the wind, and the trees. Everything. Nothing escaped him, everything was seen and heard. Feeled. He heard her stir behind him, rising up to a sit. He remained where he was, arms folded, over watching the entrance to this little safe haven. It was quite a nice spot and he had previously fought for it to obtain its rights. Now he guarded another. Or did he? One might not have been sure around this time. He heard her slight utterance regardless of whether it was intended to be heard or not. He narrowed his eyes at the distance as he continued to watch whilst answering her. “Yes. You were knocked out due to a neurotic reaction to the psionic energy that is contained within me. With conditioning, one can train their mind to cope with such reactions; however your mind at the point of impact was solely open and disengaged from the rest of you. Hence the reason it had the effect it did”. Quite the explanation, and for those that knew him better, a common occurrence. Laguna was extremely knowledgeable about anything he turned his mind to, and he quite often explained things in an encyclopaedic manner. He didn’t turn to observe an answer, almost assuming it would be met with confusion. He waited until the next statement, at which point he lowered his head a little and silently sighing. This one usually almost always came up. “An army. You do not need to know more than this. It will danger you if you do.”, he quipped as he now turned to face her, a solemn expression on his face, before answering her final query “They are not hunting. To hunt something is the act of pursuing a living thing for the purpose of food or trade. Or merely for fun. They do not hunt me. They are trying to recruit me…”-

CharlotteCarrendar: – Strange man he was. Standing at the entrance, observing all his surroundings, without looking back at her, he explained just what she had experienced. Course, she wasn’t to pleased, that her harmless teasing would wind up with her being zapped with ki by his nipple. “Well, first for everything, I suppose.”- she placed both hands upon the grassy knell and then pushed herself up into standing, a quick flick of her wrists, her hands smoothing down her clothing, brushing off any straggly pieces of grass or hay. He was so…straight forward, diplomatic, blunt. She had not come across a man who seemed to lack, emotions. Perhaps he buried them deep inside. She began a slow walk towards him, only to have him turn back to face her finally. The answer to her question of the foe with the arrows that gave chase turned out to be a recruitment force of some nature. “So, they shoot at you, to wound you and thus, capture you to serve in their ranks?” She thought for a moment, and then asked. “Are these the kind of people that seek Gladiators for tournaments, or slave racketeers? *she glanced up at him, showing genuine concern. She was now appearing less of a temptress, speaking from her heart, as opposed to her more demonic nature.HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – Inquisitive one she was. Although he would have accepted no thanks for saving her skin a few hours earlier, he did find it a little strange that she would focus on such a thing. Why would it matter to her? As to his emotions, Laguna was always were slow to warm to others. There was various reasons for this that few managed to find out. He watched her dust herself down, his eye flicker slowing down to a lesser rate as he looked her over. Nothing surprised him, he had seen much. His eyes lowered once more as the subject was still in hand. In the motion of slightly looking down, many locks of his sleek black hair would fall forward, cascading onto his fringe messily. He would in turn correct them by pinning them behind his ears as he would have done a thousand times before. He answered. “That would seem to be the strategy, yes” he finished as he took a step towards her now, sideways on to her. He answered once more “They are type of creatures that seek equipment for their own selfish gain. I hate to disappoint them but I will continue to……” he tailed off as he turned from looking deep into the forest to face her, looking into her scarlet eyes before slightly smiling to himself, finishing in a slightly charming and sarcastic way “ respectfully decline” –

CharlotteCarrendar: – Charlotte frowned slightly, hearing of how these creatures sought Laguna for their own evil ends, to harness him as though he were a beast of burden, and use his talents to no end. But Laguna spoke with a refined air, charming, yet there was that level of sarcasm in his voice, when he ended his explanation to dissapointing his would be slavers. He was to respectfully decline, and continue to do so, even as they spirited up into the tree, to get away from the volley of arrows fired at them. Laguna stepped closer to Charlotte, to drive him, in a direct fashion, watching her and not the forest, as he opened up on his situation. The manner in which he tried to pin back wayward locks, that fell like a veil over his eyes, it looked so casual, perhaps he had done this a thousand times before, when his hair got so long. She found a new admiration for the man known as Laguna, the way he held himself in the light of coming under attack, and he saved her too. He didn’t have to do such, and for what it was worth, she may not have deserved help.”I guess I should really thank you, for saving my ass back there”- she said, a hint of a smile of her lips. Truth was, she was not used at all to being swept up into a man’s arms, and taken up high into a tree and to safety. “So…thank you, Laguna.”-

March 03, 2012 05:32AM
– He watched her reaction, one of concern and curiosity as he stood facing her, arms folded nearly behind his back. His very posture did seem to warrant that of a guard of protector, and it was what he was tailored to do. He had guarded many during his time in the army, and even after his ‘release’, had sought out to help others before deeming himself more than a person who looks after others. He had spent the last few years looking after himself, turning his eyes to see things he had never before. In his mind, not many would understand the concept of having a talent or ability that he never asked for, to be viewed as a danger when all he really wanted to be, was be normal. The very reason he had saved her is because, as usual, his instincts took over, the instinct to protect, to fight, and to serve. It was something that he did not have the compassion to change. Upon hearing her gratitude, he lightly smiled his unique dimpled smile, which had a hint of embarrassment to it, as well as non-belief. “You need not thank me my lady. I do not crave gratitude from others and I certainly do not wish for payment. The concept of money does not mean anything to me and I do not wish to start now. I did not save you. You had the ability to save yourself, I merely….” He paused as he lightly exhaled through his nose to convey amusement “Moved you along at a pace that was quicker than you were used to. A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer. I just do what I can. Because I can”-

-No need to thank? But surely that was the done thing, when a woman is swept off her feet. His explanation that he just, helped her move along at a faster pace than she would have been able, certainly brought a chuckle from her. “Oh…I am pretty nimble you know. Normally I am used to eight legs, instead of the..*she would slap her shapely thigh*…legs of a mortal. Have to be convincing sometimes to catch my pray. I mean, I can hardly walk into a tavern, let alone fit in the door, in my normal…*she cut off what she was about to say, having almost gave away what she was*….pair of pants.”- she made the lie right at the end, and even rolled her eyes at her own fail of words. He would probably pick up on this gaffe, and she was quick to continue, to try and throw him off. “Heroes are no braver than an ordinary man you say?” -she tapped her chin with a long claw. “Thats a new one. You’re modest too. You know, I have heard all sorts of bravado from the male mortals, yes…beating their chests, and saying how damn terrific they are…unstoppable…insatiable. Oh, but usually when they get what they want, they are soon on their merry way.” -She gestured with her hand, rolling it at the wrist, almost dismissively as she spoke, to express the way she viewed mortal men. “See, thats where it gets interesting. I don’t normally let them go. HA!” -she joked, losing herself in the moment. Charlotte peeked her head out of the cave, bobbing her head, as she couldn’t see any of the offending archers, that were after them earlier on. “Well, seems that the coast is clear. So, I guess I should be on my way. Busy busy Spider.” -she then marched out of the cave into the open.-

– Laguna felt allured to her, she was a little different to most of the creatures he came across. He just felt something in him that didn’t allow him to become close. To become more than a stranger who one would pass every now and then. A thorn in his side. The reason was simple. He was….treasured. Sought after. Anyone who became even remotely close to him would be in danger. This was clearly evident in the case of the other, and came a lot sooner than it did to anyone else he had met. For this he was sorry. For this reason, he would never accept thanks. It was his fault. He lightly smiled as he heard her speak, adding “I am sure that is the case. I have no doubt of that. But escapism is less to do with skill and muscles than it does of the skill of the mind”. He acknowledged the gaff but deliberately brought no attention towards it. Of course he knew, but in all honesty, did it matter? No, not when he compared his own species towards the other. One of rarity and folklore. “Modesty has nothing to do with it. It is my error that you were placed in such a situation in the first place. The fact that I took you out of harm’s way does not cancel out my fault in this. For this I apologise” he quipped, his eyes falling to the floor momentarily. He was clearly a troubled creature at times, at a loss to explain to others what exactly he was or where to even begin to help them comprehend. He continued “A Narcissist believes himself as that of a God, heartless and vacant of love for others, emotion-less and indifferent. They are a plague, and a waste of life. They enjoy being feared as hate is a complement of fear. They are intoxicated by it. I feel sorry for them.” He finished as he she inevitably made her way towards the exit. He smiled a knowing smile that this would obviously come. He wished to make her stay but truly did not believe in one reason as to why she would. “As you wish” he said as he moved to the lip of the cave with her. “Judging by the direction you was travelling in when I met you, west would most likely be best…..” he said tailing off as he made his way back inside-

-The apology did not go by unnoticed, Charlotte, looked back, caught sight of his downward gaze, and with his final directive to her, that West was the way to go, she looked out to the horizon. Home, this journey thus far had been eventful, the near miss of the arrows, the playful banter between the two, that could have been viewed as harmless flirting, even though they both were from the other sides of righteousness and evil. Charlotte gathered her thoughts, her head still swimming with the last few phrases, especially “A Narcissist believes himself as that of a God, heartless and vacant of love for others, emotion-less and indifferent. They are a plague, and a waste of life. They enjoy being feared as hate is a complement of fear. They are intoxicated by it.” Did she enjoy being feared? She certainly didn’t like being hated, but who in this world does. The narcissist obviously. As she scaled her way down the rocky cliff face, she could not help but see Laguna’s face in her mind. No, no..she was not like that. He saved her and allowed her to continue on her way, and for this she should accept this selfless act for what it was. A small spider crawled out of her hair and perched on her shoulder, chittering away softly. “Men..”- sigh

– He turned his head slightly to the right to watch her leave the lip of the cave, taking his advice and moving onwards. He looked forward again staring blankly at one of the dull call waves, the occasional drawing etched into its stone, possibly by Laguna himself. He didn’t enjoy being feared. He didn’t enjoy being valued. The very concept of being hunted for abilities he didn’t even ask for had tormented him for almost his entire life, ever since he was about 8 years old. He longed to be rid of it, longed to just be normal and lead a normal life. Stupid man….It will never happen. And so he continued to stare at the wall, thinking to himself. “Let her go. You did your bit and helped. Don’t involve her in the circus of your warped existence Laguna….” And so he moved further into the cave, sitting himself down, placing his elbows on his knees, his hands placed as if in prayer, albeit with just his index fingers pointing towards the sky, the other fingers closed like a fist. The ‘point’ of his thumbs placing themselves under his chin as he briefly leant on them idly. He lingered here for the moment, beginning to stare at the floor at the prospect of another night hiding in his cave. He heard the other as she made her way down the sheer cliff and gently exhaled through his nose sharply, as if the comment amused him. “Men….” He uttered to himself before looking out towards the cave. “ If only…”-

-The forest now grew very dark, the wind howling through the trees, but these trees held a dark secret. For between the leaves and branches, eyes were peering out at the young Bebilith as she walked slowly through the undergrowth, getting her bearings, as she made her way west as instructed. Rustling, then the sharp crack of a large branch as a creature thudded to the earth, just missing Charlotte by a few metres. Charlotte leapt back, her claws extending out, dripping in neuro toxin and with the flash of blood red on her emerald hues, she snarled viciously at being alarmed. The creature rose up, its body the colour of the boughs of the very trees that surrounded them. A wood demon. Normally the enemy of the fire demon, it decided to take on the bebilith, simply for the fact she was walking through what it believed to be its domain. “Swez ez fas uail lyodt, Xyxedesw xespw…Uai qedd befk swos qy ka fas zsofk bal uail nefk wyly!” (translation; This is not your realm, Bebilith bitch…You will find that we do not stand for your kind here!) The Wood demon’s body was covered in an almost impenetrable armour, its long arms had shaped claws, easy for slicing into the flesh of their foe. Charlotte narrowed her gaze, watching the Wood demon closely, the trees surrounding her began to drop their leaves, which swirled to form sprites, that whispered wicked words, to tease and annoy the Bebilith. Charlotte spun around, as she seemed to be surrounded, the hair on the back of her neck standing on edge.as she drew out her long sword, and spun it round, twirling her wrist, to gain a good grip on the handle. Its metal shone, reflecting the moon light, that just made its rays through the canopy.

CharlotteCarrendar: – The spider on his outstretched hand trusted him, and as he revealed his name, she finally smiled, something that was genuine about the Mistress of the Web. “I am not used to being so straightforward, and besides, I kind of enjoyed our verbal exchange, for the most part….Laguna.”- she finally said his name, now reaching out tenderly to stroke the thorax of the spider in his care. “So beautiful this one is.”-she was smitten of course with the spider, a natural reaction for her, and lost for a moment as her fingertips caressed its back. “I am known as Charlotte. Though most call me Char.”- she said softly, all manner of the wicked demoness seemed to be stripped back and beneath it was to be revealed someone who was in stark contrast to the bold temptress. She finally drew her hand back and then lowered her arms to her sides. The snow began to fall again, lightly sprinkling through her locks and upon her shoulders. She did not seem to be affected by the cold, which may have been considered unusual. “Are you caretaker for this land, or just one that dwells within?”

– He smiled back to her now, as the most defined and beautiful dimples etched themselves into the creases of his cheeks; another walking contradiction to how the rest of him appeared. For here we had a creature that was clearly created or designed to do damage. It did not seem right somehow that during this craft it would be acknowledge that he would have dimples like some 12 year old girl, but there it was. He tilted the spider towards her as she stroked its thorax, hearing the vibration of approval from the arachnid. He replied to her in kind “ She certainly is” he quipped, indicating not only the gender of the creature, but also implying that he know a little more about it than it was merely a spider. “She has a most particular mark on her underside, a little white dot, quite like a tear drop. Very quaint” he said as he watched her lower her arms, his sea blue orbs still occasionally flickering from side to side as if processing her. “Very well” he begun as he straightened his arm, allowing the spider to run along it to the lip of his shoulder, it seemingly quite content to reside there for the moment. “ Charlotte it is” he uttered with a slight smile, indicating his sense of humour. The snow started gently falling, as if on cue for the two of them in this seemingly tranquil and utterly beautiful landscape. Rather peculiarly all the snow that fell onto his skin didn’t seem to melt right away, despite the fact that he wasn’t a pale looking creature. “You flatter me my lady, for this forest looks as much after me as I do it. I owe it a lot”-

“She has a most particular mark on her underside, a little white dot, quite like a teardrop. I owe it a lot”-CharlotteCarrendar:- The small spider captured Charlotte’s imagination and attention, a sound curiousity that came from a deep love of all arachnids. Touching this spider brought Charlotte some sort of inner peace, something that Laguna would clearly be able to see, for her finger strokes were precise, but not in any way to hurt. The mention of the teardrop mark underneath the spider’s abdomen would have Charlotte tilt her head and lower, so she could perhaps steal a glance. “Beautiful..” she breathed the word, and in this setting it seemed the alignments began to shift, for what was actually an evil being. But even evil has a light and darkside, if one was too believe in such things. As the spider ran back up his shoulder to perch, the spell was broken, and Charlotte blinked her eyes twice, as the normal colour returned, the pupils etched with a violent jade streak set in crimson. She lowered her arm to her side, and then took a step back. His body beautiful and she knew now what he was. “For a moment, I …*she shook her head*…you are obviously one with this setting…I don’t belong here, but am merely passing through.” She looked down and then up, regaining her senses.

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He furrowed his brow and narrowed his eyes a little, the dimpled smile still remaining for the time being as he watched her become entranced by the little creature. If she was to be observant enough, this would not be the only little creature that appeared to like the company of the towering man. Rabbits in corners or poking their little fluffy noses out of their burrows and birds overhead in the trees; their was wildlife all around him and the only reason that they were not nearer was because of the other. He watched her mouth the word and lightly nodded his head in approval as she did so. And as close as they seemed for a brief moment, with the removal of the spider from his hand to his shoulder, it passed and she once again appeared taken aback. ” Forgot where you was?” he asked in a questionable tone, but inside knowing that it was probably the case, the forest had a knack of doing that. He did also, but he never knew it. ” And who says you do not belong anywhere?, I am also a traveller, I find myself inclined to do so. The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page, do you not think?” he inquisitively asked –

CharlotteCarrendar:- She had forgotten, for the briefest of moments, the clocks stopped, the earth no longer was spinning, she was in her own world, a world where the spider was everything, and she saw herself in that tiny spider that treated him as though a familiar. She saw through the spider’s many eyes, and she felt the calm and belonging and she wanted to be that spider. But then it was over…she was back in her own body her own mind, and this is why she reacted so. “Out of body…it happens near death, but then when you gaze into the eyes of a kin, you see, everything differently.”- she licked her top lip, a light flick of her tongue, clearly not liking now being so exposed. How clever he was to do this to her, or did she allow this experience? “I know where I am now. And I have travelled though the books I have seen, that have been cast into the flames through war and plague.” She spoke of a world that Laguna would not know of and it seemed to be a riddle, but in order to learn more would be to question her further. She tilted her head forward, her hair forming a veil like curtain that covered her face for a moment. She didn’t know what to do, her nature told her one thing, her heart another….her hunger…her mind….”I’m cold…” -she said simply-

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – Her words intrigued him; it was perhaps the intellectual equivalent of an out of body experience with mainly just words, he thought to himself absent-mindedly as she spoke. There was a lot he could say on the subject. He replied “Talking with you is sort of the conversational equivalent of an out of body experience” as he looked upon her for a brief moment, before taking some loose stands of sleek black hair that had annoyingly furrowed their way forward whilst he peered down to her. He would correct them as he always would do by taking them and pinning them behind his ears as he would have done a thousand times before. He continued “I believe that perhaps everyday spirituality, we need to remember that we are spiritual beings spending some time in a body, regardless of what body that is” He looked to the left, which judging by her footprints in the snow up until now was the intended path she was to take. “I am glad to hear you know where you are my lady. But do you know where you are going?” he asked-

CharlotteCarrendar:- Then the truth came out. She pursed her lips together and shook her head from side to side. “Truth is….I intended to plane shift and well, something occured right as I was in the middle of it and…I wound up here. It kindof explains why I am dressed so.”- she then did a sales girl like gesture with both hands to more or less say..~get a load of how wrong this outfit is~ She raised her arms and then let them fall exaperated, and then turned to the direction of her foot prints which were now filling with snow. “I will get my bearings and then…when strong enough…maybe a day maybe two I will be on my way and out of your hair.”- she hated to admit that she had made an error, a mistake, but at the time she was both distraught and in search of Mazmezz. She marched over to a tree stump and sat herself down as though she was actually waiting for a bus.

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He folded his arms as he listened. It was not as if he knew the answer, he was just quite observant and intellectual and could usually tell if one did not belong in this area. And he got this feeling with her. He listened to her reply, even laughing a little by way of exhaling through his nose rapidly when she did her sales-ey turn. “Indeed” was all he simply said as he watched her take to the nearby tree stump, tilting his head and smiling to himself as he knew a few pairs of mice were behind that waiting for him to be alone again. They scooted off without her knowing, he found it amusing. He began to walk towards her and gestured with his arm towards her “Perhaps I can be of some…..” he began to say before lifting his gaze from her to straight in front of him. His face turned to stone. His eyes began to flicker rapidly and one observant enough would even see his ears twitch from time to time. He began to speak again, his tone flat and un-nerving, like it was not a voice to question. “You cannot be here” he uttered, still refusing to take his eyes off whatever he saw in the distance. “It is not safe. Get up. Get up and walk behind me…stay there for a moment” he said, as if they were timed instructions based on what he could see or hear in the distance –

CharlotteCarrendar: – She heard him approach her, the crunch of his boots as they descended into the crisp and compacted snow, was unmistakable. She looked up, and reached up to tuck loose hair behind her ear, only to catch the first part of what he said, “Really…give me a day..”- but something stopped him from speaking and she had a double take as his expression changed completely. Then..he said “You cannot be here” – She suddenly became confused and wondered what made him change his mind so rapidly. “Well, I can just try and dig my way back home. I can’t plane shift yet I don’t have enough strength….and..what..” -she got up as he told her too and then she wanted to protest about having to fall in behind him and stay out of sight, but of sight of what exactly. She made a slight growl at this complete change in behaviour, and she padded around him and then peeked around, wondering what he could see, that she couldn’t. She whispered. “Its snowing so much I can’t see anything up ahead. Did the bunnies warn you about big foot?”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He heard what she said, but his eyes remained completely fixed and focused on the activity in the distance. He didn’t have long to say what he had to. He began “You must make a choice, OK. There is something in the distance that is going to be precisely where we are in exactly 43 seconds from now. It is not coming for you, but for me, but it will not distinguish that you mean no harm if you are in its path. If you are going to leave then, go right now in the direction opposite. Or you can let me help. I can get us both out of this predicament but you will need to do as I say and exactly when I say it. Choose. Quickly.” He said all statement in bullet point form almost and without pause or hesitation in his voice. It was affirmative. It was going to happen and he had brought someone else into it accidentally. This was exactly the reason he sometimes kept away from people…-

CharlotteCarrendar: – “Forty three seconds?” well that alone would eat up precious seconds as she tried to get around her head what was coming, though she truly did not know. “I can’t get aways from something in forty three seconds, thats madness. I would rather stay and fight, thank you very much.”- The seconds were fast dissappearing and she was still rabbiting on. “I will stay and fight with you, and yes, I will do as you say, but thats my choice. No one tells me to leg it in forty three seconds.”- She then pops her head around his side, and her eyes widen at what is coming. “I think…I am out of time…”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He listened intently to her reply, wishing to comment on the fact that this particular enemy you didn’t fight, or at least she wouldn’t fight. He simply replied “Very well” to her, her reply having given him enough permission to act on her behalf. He narrowed his eyes for about 3 seconds before flinching to the right, moving her with him as he head twitched and flicked like a bird of prey assessing a situation. He inhaled deeply….A whistling noise too faint for a human to hear quickly became slightly louder. His eyes dilated as they fixed itself on its target; a lone arrow marked for him. He exhaled as he burst into life, outstretching his arm and opening his palm to catch it as he did with the snowball earlier, albeit using a lot more skill than previously. Having caught said arrow, he brought it up to his face to inspect it. He seemed to look at how much of the arrow managed to slip through his hand before he caught it; it was about half and half. And then for the first time he looked at her, saying in his head “Hm. Upgrades” before saying to her “Go. NOW” –

CharlotteCarrendar:- The unmistakable whistling through the air and then, he caught an arrow, not in the knee, with his hand. Wait. An arrow, and he knew the exact time that it would be fired and come into range. No, this made no sense at all. Where the hell did she wind up? Her eyes darted around from left to right and then poking her head around, it was too late, he was turning to look at her. “Hm. Upgrades” before saying to her “Go. NOW” “Now?!” She backed up and then she tripped over a rock that was covered in snow, sending her falling to the ground. She scrambled, trying to get up, her ass in the air, as she looked for somewhere, to go to. “Where?” -she said in a voice that pleaded almost. She pushed herself bolt upright and then she started to run, back the other way she had come and dived over a snowy bank near an old oak, a load of snow falling from the tree’s bough and landing on her “Oommph”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai –Now the young man sprung into life. If there was any doubt of his talents, it was surely on display now, he spun around, ducking arrows by twisting and contorting his body into various shapes, as if he knew exactly where to spin or duck or feint before he even did so, resulting in making his evasions look like a choreographed dance routine or much the same as an elaborate capoeira routine, it was sublime and beautiful to watch. He dodged some arrows and caught some others, occasionally letting the enormous blade upon his back take a few hits, a few arrows were certainly not going to damage the Adamantium it was forged from. In the brief few moments he had, he looked to the other as she fell over herself rather hopelessly. It was a bit of a mystery as to why he helped creatures and people he didn’t even know, but to Laguna, it was a remarkably simple prospect: He had the ability to help, and therefore, he would. He boomed towards her, taking her form in a single arm as he dashed off from the torrent of arrows at breakneck speed. He had her held in a rather typical way, over a shoulder as he bounced and feigned his way through the forest –

Re: (RP) “Snow.”
February 20, 2012 05:45AM
CharlotteCarrendar: – Completely blanketed in the icey snow fall from the overhanging branch, Charlotte spluttered and tried to get out from beneath the winter y mass that had landed upon her. Totally missing the marvellous twists and turns, the dance of the man who was dodging arrows left and right, even having his blade take a few hits. The ~ping ping ping~ sound as the arrows would bounce off the Adamantium blade was indication enough that this attack was far from over. Her head came up out of the snow and before she could whistle dixie, she had been swept up by Laguna in one swift movement, and something akin to a fireman’s fold, he darted off with her bouncing about on his shoulder, most unceremoniously, her hair drifting down his back in a silky black torrent. “I’ve…heard…of…picking…a…girl…up…before….but…this…IS…ridiculous!”- she said with a raised voice, Destination now would be unknown for Charlotte, and the arrows continued to be fired by their assailant. Question was. just who was firing at them?

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He continued to zip between the trees, using them strategically as cover; it was blatantly obvious that this particular venture was something he had done previously and possibly many times before. He held the other firmly; there was no chance of him losing his grasp. As he bounced between the arrows he did manage a reply to the somewhat surprised retort of the other “Well, you did allow me to help you, all you have to do is say ….” At which point he paused as he leapt into the air landing on the lowest tree branch, before spying a particular accurate arrow, to which he would not be able to dodge with her in his arms. Without a moment’s pause he physically threw her into the air, dodging said arrow before vaulting over to her and catching her clean before he became a pattern on the snow below. He finished his sentence with a slight gasp, far less of a pant that one should be doing for the speed he was travelling at “…..stop, and I’ll let you deal with this yourself” he quipped as he began to ascend upwards through the trees; he clearly knew that they would be unable to follow him-

CharlotteCarrendar: – Charlotte was flung up into the air, the arrow passing between Laguna and her backside. “Eeeeeek!” -she squealed as the vooosh sound of the arrow had her wondering if her ass was the target to this deadly attack. Laguna caught her again swiftly and with ease, much to Charlotte’s surprise, and he kept on talking, thats right, he was doing some amazing moves, planting each foot with precision, and darting from tree to tree, Charlotte bouncing on his shoulder, and yet he did not let her fall. Yes, she had allowed him to pick her up and take off with her to avoid the arrow onslaught, and then as he finished the sentence with barely losing a breath, that she could handle this herself, she just nodded, and saw them leave the ground, his imprint the only tell tale sign he was even there. Up, higher and higher they went, from bough to branch. Snow falling and the ice cold running down her back. It was freezing, but no matter, they were getting away from whoever was firing the arrows at them. Who was this man of the woods, with the skill of a jungle cat, sensitive to all around him? The scent of his body was rising up to greet her, and it was enticing to say the least, however, when your under attack, the last thing you want to do is start plans in your mind of the next few meetings. “How high are we going to go? We are heading to the top. If you fall, its a very long drop. *she winced*…don’t drop me now!”- Opening her eyes, she tried to scan for the assailants, but, she could not see anyone. Did they cloak themselves with magical auras, or were they of another world entirely. Laguna must know who they are. The questions was, would he tell her, when they reached safety?

February 24, 2012 01:32AM
HiEmpLagunaDakarai:- Onwards and upwards they climbed; this particular forest seemed to have trees that rose to the heavens, but he continued to zig zag upwards as the arrows that were aimed at them seemed to dimmer with every passing foot of height. He was clearly onto something. The snow sleeked off the branches where they had been previously undisturbed by virtually everything. As he boomed upwards, he brought her down from his shoulder, now carrying him in two arms, holding her close to him. Although he personally did not feel the cold as others would do, he would have known that up at this height it would be less than comfortable for someone not accustomed to it. As she took in his own scent, she would have realised just how warm his own flesh was. His scent was a rather peculiar thing and, unbeknownst to her, was actually tailoring itself to be alluring to her alone. For her, it was an unmistakably warm and enchanting. He smelled of the earth, the fresh dewy air of a shoreline, with an edge of pine and mountain laurel. His scent, charged with ions would make her feel wonderful if she allowed it to. He heard her speak to him and despite the skill and ability he was using still had the conditioning to reply. “It is not a question of how high we need to go, it is a question of calling a bluff. Faith is believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. It has more to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand” he finished as he peered down to her all huddled into him, before carrying on.” In order to succeed, the will to succeed where others have failed should be greater than the fear of failure itself. To strive and do what others will not. They will not follow me where I am prepared to go. This is how I know” he plainly stated, leaving a slight gap before again looking down to her with a smirk and saying. “And no, I won’t drop you” , before leaping to one of the last available branches, swivelling both of them towards the bark of the tree for extra protection. The arrows he could see below were becoming less and less and nowhere near meeting their targets. They would in turn soon leave to seek an opportunity another time. Success.-

CharlotteCarrendar: – The change of his hold on her, was to go from over his shoulder, akin to a fireman’s lift to that of cradling her body close to his, for the snow that fell from surrounding branches and boughs, did land on her, causing her to shiver and her teeth chatter. So high up, the tempreture dropped, the arrows from those unknown that had launched the attack, had not been able to make their marks, mainly due to the fact they were so far off the ground, it was hard to get an accurate target on their person. She kept looking down, but then found herself drawn. His scent, it was alluring, earthy, warm, captivating  She couldn’t help the feelings, the wonderful blessing of being so close to his bare chest. She found herself nuzzling him, holding him as he promised her he would not drop her. Where had he been all her life, to take her up to the very tree tops to save her from behind shot at with an arrow or two. The bluff as he put it, paid off, with the danger almost over. But then a new danger raised its head, howling to be noticed. Charlotte, drinking in his scent, focusing on his chest, and she toyed with his right nipple, teasing and pinching it. Dangerous? Sure and that high up, its quite a long drop.CharlotteCarrendar

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – His sea blue orbs were transfixed in the distance at the source of this onslaught, his face transfixed and un-wavering as he peered around the bark of the tree, making sure that they had temporarily lost them. This practice had worked before, but he was mindful of the fact that one of these times they would probably wise up or even worse, adapt. His eyes, when seen close up would flicker from side to side in a scanning motion once more. Whilst this was occurring, the other was warming to him quite literally, accidentally. Laguna never meant to be like this; in fact, he exceptionally rarely harboured feelings of love or lust. He wasn’t designed to feel such things. Such emotions allow for error or cloud judgement. Not to say he couldn’t; it just took an awful long time for him to even start to feel them. And now really was not the time. He felt the soft flesh of his nipple being played with. He sighed to himself, closing his eyes as he did so, thinking to himself “Really?” before tuning in to his inner core, focusing his mind on the nipple in question, making it exceptionally kinetic and pulsed with energy. With a dull hum it emanated from it, a wave of motion which had been known to temporarily stun or disorient others, most of the time knocking them dizzy or even out cold. Her reaction would depend on how transfixed and open she had allowed her mind to become. If it was truly opened and unguarded, she would fall into a brief sleep -CharlotteCarrendar: – Like Charlotte was being cradled, as the bare chested warrior He man of the forest took her high into the mighty tree tops of his frozen forest, Charlotte had become preoccupied, in a sense, deciding to tweak and tease one of his nipples. Funny…silly ….Charlotte. That is not how you win over a man surely. But little did she know, that Laguna found her play something of a nuisance. I mean, yes, it would have been distracting, and a tad annoying. The wily beblith was feeling the cold, it was definately illuminating the toxic green spider webbing veins that mapped out her skin. “So chilly…your nipples are getting hard.”- Famous last words, anyone? Turns out, that it was definately going to end badly for the minx like spider maiden. “Really?”- course, she could not hear this, and kept on tweaking, till she suddenly found herself becoming drowsy as the nipple in question was charged and pulsed with kinetic energy that would have her more or less stunned from the wave of motion that it released. “Sleepy…..I….zzzzzz” -she went completely limp in his arms, her onyx locks falling over her face, shielding her from his gaze. Oh Miss Spider, what a tangled web we have woven for ourselves.

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – It was indeed a particularly odd thing to do and although Laguna was a peaceful creature, he did have a personality and quite rightly objected to being basically tweaked. She went limp in his enormous arms; him feeling regretful of doing such a thing now. No matter, it would make things a little easier perhaps now. He looked down to her; she certainly looked quite pretty in this state. Relaxed, soft and dream-like. He breathed out quickly through his nose; a mixture of a laugh and a sigh, before turning to face the previously occupied land of arrows. He had the ability to wake her of course, by reversing the action, but thought better of it for now. He knew a place they would be safe, and with the approaching sunset, thought it most prudent to make his way to it. He set off once more, bouncing between the trees, albeit at a more slower pace now. He could do such a thing almost on auto pilot, much the same way as Albatrosses fall asleep whilst on the wing because of how accustomed they are to it. His mind was busy processing thoughts about the meeting, as well as absent mindedly concentrating on where the next leap went and how the landing was finished. After a brief respite of just over an hour, they both came to the destination. A dreamy…..cave. He mentally shrugged his shoulders, never minding the great outdoors before going inside, placing the woman down amongst some bed of grass and hay, before turning to face the entrance. He folded his arms and began his scan-like motions once more –

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – The young man was to be found high in the trees; a typical place to find him to those that knew him, of which there were still few. The newly appointed emperor, despite having been granted an empire recently, still found comfort in the nearby forests that were now declared as his lands alongside his partner. He was sat, high up, with a long leg dangling over a tree as he merely watched the world go by, loving the tranquil quiet and peace of the moment. He was surrounded by nearby flora and fauna, a common occurence with him. Despite his obviously looming size, the animals tend to knew something that others did not; that he was in fact a peaceful creature and to be around him was to be safe. After a brief few moments of peace, his ears twitched; a slight noise to the west. It had been a while since anything new had entered the forest and it intrigued him. He pinpointed the source of the sound but not the creature of entity that was making the noise, it was out of his eyeline. It was a species like trait for him to be able to hear with such precision; he sometimes even called it an annoyance that he was built him such a way. For the time being he kept himself where he was, neither disguising nor revealing his presence –

CharlotteCarrendar: – Far below, where the Emperor may not have seen a figure does move, her skin that of the colour of snow, unnatural in such a natural setting, her hair, that of the winter white, eyes that shine out from blackened halos, deepest crimson. But how is it so, that a maiden of such unusual appeal, should be in this setting? What brings her here? Her hand does just touch an ancient tree, her claws raking the bark away so it falls, shredding, littering the ground in her wake. A shadow did follow the maiden, one that if you were to look was not that of the bipedal form…but it was of a great beast….the bebilth spider. Her true form. Glamour, that was all it was that kept her in the image that did draw the mortal males into her web of malice. She turned her head slowly, looking to her left, for something was watching…but what?

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He narrowed his sea blue orbs. Hue’s that were so alluring that he was named after them. To look upon them was to look into a lagoon, hence the namesake given to him by his now long departed mother. They widened as the other touched a nearby tree and dilated when she rakes her claws through them, tipping the contents onto the freshly fallen snow below. Such a thing he would not normally be able to focus in on so distinctly, but this forest was indeed a part of him; he had spent most of his life in or around it and could feel it as others could not. The networks of the trees, the roots….he knew. He stood statuesque; it had bene an age since something of this nature had entered this area. He knew it was not to be trifled with. He sensed pain, a darkness that he had not encountered for some time. It was now that he did slightly disguise his presence, albeit by merely pinning himself closer to the tree branch he was nearest, once again anticipating a reaction. He was a creature of great patience; his species were infamous for it, for delaying an action until the last possible moment –

CharlotteCarrendar:- Lowering her arm slowly, her clawed hand meets with her thigh, her waist twisting as she glances around, narrowing her gaze with her boots sinking into the snow. Parted lips release her warm breath, her breasts rising and falling sharply. The mere crack of a twig, the sound of a hoot from an owl, the forest very much alive in this part, and Charlotte was the one that did not belong. (Charlotte)”Come out…show yourself. I will not bite.”- her voice had a velvety richness to it, as the words rolled off her tongue. She tilted her head, ever so gently as she straightened her body. (Charlotte)”I am just a woman, far from home.” She takes three steps, but looks left and right, the Emperor high above, not in her line of sight.

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He stood, perfectly still and emotionless at this time. His brain was that of high intelligence, far surpassing most species; it was a complex network of neurons, electricity, which all in all meant that he could process information far quicker than anything mortal at least. And it was busy processing all the availible options to him: To make himself known, to hide further, to attack, to retreat, to laugh, to toy with her, to be honest, to lie, millions of complex equations that filtered through his mind within a few seconds. He made up his mind; he did not believe her. He did not know why , but he trusted the way he felt. It was unusual for him to behave this way but he was not sure of something. He would make himself known, but it was not be casual. Without warning he let himself fall backwards off the tree branch, falling headfirst towarcds the ground below. He did not wave his arms about nor show any expression on his face as he fell the some 70 feet towards the ground, leaving it achingly long before he took action. Just as he neared the impending forest floor, he kicked out at the side of the tree bark, using the brief leverage to flip himself the right way, somersaulting 360 degress into the air before cushioning himself for the landing by slightly bending his knees. And so he landed on the floor. He could have done this without making nary a noise, but his arrival was intended, purposeful and to provoke an reaction or at least an acknowledgment-

CharlotteCarrendar: – A breath stolen, for she drew it in and held it tight to her chest. The shadow that passed from the tops of the trees to very near the ground, the crunch as the boots would hit the side of the tree and the air swirling around his form. Oh this was big…that was for certain. Her eyes darted to follow, and sure enough the powereded cloud of white would reveal a male form that by all expectations would leave many a woman in lust. She finally released her breath and like a cougar her head moved from left to right, as though checking out this…..prey. Or was she the prey and he the hunter? Her instinct at first would be to attack, but no, he had not warranted such a response. Intrigue, curiousity. She sniffed the air for his scent, as a slow smile appeared upon snow kissed lips. She then went into a crouch as though to mimic his landing, her hands burying into the snow, and like a spider almost, she began to set her trap. (Charlotte)”Are you a son of Adam? For I have not seen one of his offspring with such….skill.”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai:- His eyes fixed themselves on its target; the crouching form of the other. It seemed that neither of them had the overwhelming urge to attack; though neither of them could also deny the feeling of curiosity and cautiousness of the current situation. It was true that he was large, upon rising from his slightly crouched position to a full stand; it was blatantly obvious as such. He stood not only tall, but wide, a true giant if he was to be regarded as merely a human. If one was to attempt to get a tape measure around him, he would stand at well over 7ft tall, and there was not a single inch of him that didn’t appear to be carved from some pinkish-grey rock, his muscle bulged and contorted with the simplest of movements such as breathing. And yet, beneath this looming exterior, there was calmness to him, a grace even. It seemed a constant contradiction for a being such as him to be so graceful and agile. This was to be the way of things all his life. For now he stood tall, a blank and emotionless expression on his face. It was clear that he did not fear the creature, and if one were to look more closely, it seemed as if fear as an emotion was long absent from his emotional repertoire. Just an expression of thought. Of process. His orbs flickered back and forth at a fast rate as he took in parts of her that he hadn’t had the opportunity to until now. It was clear it wasn’t just a case of looking at her; this was a scan-like approach, inside and out. After a brief few seconds had passed, he opened his mouth to speak. And then another massive contradiction set itself in place. His voice was…..well, not what many would have expected from one of his size and stature. It would only take a second to deduce that he was intelligent from the very tone of his voice; it was eloquent, polite and if one was to be dramatic- regal. “Did you use your eyes to state such a fact my lady?” he paused for a second, even inkling a slight half smile as he tilted his head down and to the side to peer down to her. He continued “The eyes of others our prisons; their thoughts our cages. I digress; It is not for me to tell you of what I am. The real question is “What do you believe me to be?” he quipped as he finished –

CharlotteCarrendar; “Eyes are but…the windows of the soul, are they not?”- she said with assertion, a slow smile building upon her crimson lips. But then she blew out from her mouth, as if exhaling a sigh, almost bordering on tense sexuality. Was it his size, his rock hard abs, that bulging muscle. Oh if the gods had marble and a chisel, they would surely have carved him in as an adonis. She had not seen one like this before, but his appeal certainly wet her palate. (Charlotte)”I know you would make for one very tasty meal. But of course, what kind of woman would I be, who wished to dine on the flesh of such a specimen. No…you intrigue me.” – The spider demoness rose slowly, pushing off with her hands, and then wiping her hands together, the colour of her skin on her fingers turning red from the cold. She placed her hands beneath her bosom and gave it a slight lift, and then smoothed out her gown her fingers extending out, till she raised her arms out, only to then fold them in front of her, and watch him with something of a bemused expression. (Charlotte)”Demigod…yes, you are couldn’t be a god. For that would make you..*she would wave her hand around to the trees and landscape*…creator of all I see.”- She was now bold, cheeky, and made her way with precise steps, her boots punching into the snow. “Am I right?”

February 07, 2012 06:46AM
– Inside he smiled to himself. This was his element; the clever use of words, cryptic and eloquent like. He would certainly not back down from such a discussion. On the outside, his expression remained resolute as to not give anything away. All he would do is reply to each of her questions in the order they were asked and immediately as she said them, as if the reply was pre-arranged in his head already, poised and triggered. “Or eyes so transparent they see what they perceive to be a soul at all…” he quipped as he raised his arms from his sides to fold them upon his considerably size chest, the simplest movement of doing so accentuating it. He continued “The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend”. He watched her reaction and her rather dramatic display; this one clearly did not mind having such an audience. He did not reply in kind however, his natural movement of folding his arms unintentionally alluring in his eyes. He gave her the courtesy and freedom to speak, intentionally not speaking until he deemed it his turn to reply, to which he replied in kind in a flat tone, devoid of any twang or diphthongs; his voice was devoid of sarcasm or confidence. “To state such a fact, you would have had to taste one such as I, do you not agree? And it seems we are back to once where we begun…” He took a step forward to state his intention of resolute; but at the same time it was an easing step that cancelled some of the building tension, before continuing. “You also presume to think you could capture me. I applaud your confidence. I would however, politely request that you do not attempt such a thing, for I cannot be held responsible for actions I take to defend myself, I am sure you agree. Forgive my bluntness, but you will not succeed”
There was an overwhelming sense of grace and assuredness to his tone. He did not believe what he was saying was correct- it was very matter-of-fact to him as if he was just stating bullet points. He listened to her once more, replying “A Demi-god you say? Well you surely flatter me to label me with such a term. Demi-god. A mythological being who is partly divine and partly human; an inferior deity” He now chose his time to smile, not a smirk or even one that would provoke a reaction; merely a slightly amused expression. A knowing expression. “I will speak plain. The chances of one such as yourself knowing who or what I am are minute. But If it eases you to think of me in such a way, then who am I to argue?” –

CharlotteCarrendar:- Unmistakable, the pride and confidence embodied within this being, but she knew for his words were carefully crafted so as to give her more to play with. His answers not truly revealing of himself, but actually having her question herself, and her own quick retorts. This pleased her to no end, And she felt herself drawn into his web of words. Aye, he was a skilled wordsmith, she granted him that. “But the mind’s eye, is a powerful tool and one that is all often left closed by those who are either conceited or weak.” – He gave her the courtesy of the freedom to continue this banter, if you could call it such, but in fact it was like she was making a dance before him, the sweet strain of her voice, in the midst of this setting, the movement of her body as she closed in on his personal space. She released a low chuckle, shaking her head so slowly, when he made his statement. “You also presume to think you could capture me. I applaud your confidence. I would however, politely request that you do not attempt such a thing, for I cannot be held responsible for actions I take to defend myself, I am sure you agree. Forgive my bluntness, but you will not succeed” Charlotte ran a claw along her full bottom lip as she came to stop just shy of him, and batted her eyelashes, almost teasing now. “I will not lie, I am a hunter, this is true, and I do use my feminine wiles in order to ‘capture” as you so gracefully put it, my next meal. But who is to say my needs have not been met? Do I look under- nourished to you? Shame, And as for my choice of words in regards for what I believe you to be, well….some would take it as a compliment. I could well have said you look like a hairless baboon, but that would be rude, wouldn’t it, and hardly the way to make new friends, in this…joyous setting.” -She would flash a brilliant smile, wondering if she had perhaps taunted him now a bit too far. “You’re obviously not going to spill the beans, and I tire of playing games of “what am I?” -She bent down, and scooped up a handful of snow, then between her two hands, she carefully crafted it into a well shaped ball, and without warning, she threw it towards his chest, and if it hit its mark, she would spin, firing off a web jet from her left hand and lift off the ground into one of the nearest trees. “I have a new game! Its called, “Catch the Spider”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai-He allowed his large and long arms rise, folding them and placing them upon his considerably sized chest; Such an action could easily be construed as an action of attention-seeking for the simplest movement of doing so once again contorted and bulged his muscles out quite attractively to those who were that way inclined. It was an absent-minded action and was not intended to convey such a reaction. He listened to her reply, and although it may not have shown on the outside, he was clearly enjoying this little battle of wits, this war of words. Laguna was not a flirtatious creature, but if he was to be, this would be how he would flirt. With words, not gestures. He once again allowed her to speak freely before replying without a moment’s hesitation. “That is true, yet the tribulation of reality is that no image is as compelling as the one which exists only in the mind’s eye. For one can still be blind and yet still ‘see’ “He watched her once more, allowing her the time to take in his intellectual words; he could be a little fast off the mark in more ways than one at times. As she neared his own personal space, he did not falter or flinch, but his sea blue orbs would flicker amongst her person as well as the surrounding area; forever scanning, checking and double checking; processing every eventuality, every opportunity. And yet he remained where he was. He replied once more “Are you speaking of your physical form I wonder, or of your mind being nourished…One’s own soul is nourished when one is benevolent; it is destroyed when one is virulent.” He tilted his head ever so lightly to the left as she deftly flashed her smile to him before half smiling himself; finding the situation ever so slightly entertaining at present. “You could call me as such, but you are right; to do such a thing would hardly be seen as mannerly. Though a retort would not be below me, I will not rise to as such”
As he finished speaking he observed her reaching down to gather the freshly fallen snow between her hands and mould it into a tight ball before launching it towards him at pace. As she did so his eyes dilated and fixed themselves onto the target that was rushing towards his targeted chest. Quicker than eye could register he brought up one of his gloved armoured hands and caught the ball clean in it, nary splitting a snowflake. How he did such a thing would be difficult to comprehend without the benefit of slowing down the action. It was simple enough however, he brought his hand to the same level of the ball and reached out towards it and as he did so, matched the speed that it was travelling to the speed of his own arm and hand reaching towards it. Having matched it perfectly it was merely a case of opening the said hand and capturing it as easy as if he picked up the snowball himself. He was a master of kinetic energy; having just a few days ago having performed the same trick on arrows that had been aimed and released against him. He held the snowball in his hand for now, watching her take to the nearest tree, taunting him, before replying as he peered upwards. “Though I am sure that this activity would be filled with joy and vigour, I must respectfully decline. I have more relevant things to do than apprehending arachnids”, to which he swivelled himself to face away from her, throwing the snowball backwards with un-nerving precision; it’s projected path upon the other’s chest ironically-

CharlotteCarrendar: – ~Whack!~ The snowball thrown with not so much a care in the world by Laguna would hit its mark, right in Charlotte’s chest, the snow splattering and falling down from her front, and it left a slight reddish imprint upon her skin. How his words and his actions differed. He was not amused by her antics and yet, pegged a snowball that would end up hitting her? To quote his words, as she brushed off the remaining snow. “You have more releveant things to do than apprehending arachnids?’ -she pouted, as though this actually stung at her pride. “Am I not good enough, or even considered relevant in the scheme of things? Typical…that is right, Spiders, you would rather crush one than admire the fact that they control the bug population. Hunters of such skill, crafty beyond belief.” Yes, she was one very proud arachnid, and did take offence that she was not relevant. She detatched from the webbing bolt she had fired from the tree, and then with skill she leapt down, landing with her knees bent, and then rising up, as the snow settled around her. “Hmmph. And I thought you were one of games…oh well. If I can’t play with you, I shall find some other to entertain me, in this…icebox.”- she turned and trudged off, sad that the game ended so soon.

– His ears would flicker as he heard the soft impact of crushed snow upon skin, sending hundreds of flakes in various undetermined locations about her person. He placed his bottom lip over his top one, a slightly sarcastic sad expression painting itself upon his porcelain skin. He knew the intended target would hit unless dodged or parried, but he was not expecting it to land home, he gave the spider enough credit to dodge such a feeble effort. She must have fully accepted the hit surely; he barely threw it with any speed. He listened to her once again repeat his words. He looked up to her, placing his hands upon his hips as he fought a slight smile being etched upon his face. Upon her finishing, he quipped “You like quoting other people’s words don’t you. Are you a spider or a parrot is perhaps the more ‘relevant’ question” it was an unusual reply from him, but he was quickly becoming more an adult in the last few years. He became serious for a moment. “You are more relevant than you know, my lady. I called the situation irrelevant and not yourself…” He closed his sea blue orbs and began to speak quietly to himself. “Lusa du sa, so cbetan vneahtc” is what he muttered to himself if one had the skill to hear, no sooner had he done so that clambering through the snow was a more medium sized spider, climbing up his leg and then perching himself on his hand as he outstretched it, showing the other. “You do not know what you ask of me….” Was all his cryptic statement relayed –

CharlotteCarrendar:- The sound of his voice and the words he used after she had more or less dismissed this game, had her stop in her tracks, lowering her head and then glancing back, for the sight that she found was one she was not expecting at all. A medium sized spider crawling up his leg and then perching on his hand that he had outstretched. This made her completely turn around, and become serious, the wicked smile replaced by simple pursed lips. “I may not know what to ask of you, cause I am at a loss. And how is it the spider does not bite you?” -she began to walk back the short distance between them, her eyes trailing from the spider on his hand back to his sea blue orbs. Upon getting within a few steps of him, she wanted to reach out and touch the spider he held, it was only natural for her. Was she allowing herself in too close to be attacked? Was this some palour trick? Her curiosity may well lead to her downfall. Unmasking the spider, the woman behind the web. She drew her hand back and then instinctively wrapped her arms around herself, as she asked. “Who are you?”

HiEmpLagunaDakarai- He knew such a thing would warrant her attention. Too many had the great creature completely misunderstood and he was trying his best to make himself truly ‘known’ these days. But one cannot change what one is. He tilted his hand, his palm now facing flat towards the crisp fallen snow; the spider moving in kind with the movement. “A creature will not harm another if the creature’s very safety is determined by said creature. It entrusts me with its care” he quipped his tone still flat but a little more serious than it had been. The spider lifted itself up at the scent of another of its kind, no matter how far removed perhaps. He ushered her closer to meet one of her kin, his body language and stance devoid of cautiousness. He did not detect that she was what he may have suspected, and if he would be wrong was more than capable in his own mind of dealing with the situation. She asked the simplest question since their meeting, to which he replied instantly and, for the first time with a smile. “Why did you not just ask. My name is Laguna…..”-
