CharlotteCarrendar: -The trees sprites, bound up and caught in the this hurricane of energy would be blasted into nothing more than falling leaves, scattering as the wind died down, some settling into Charlotte’s hair. Well that was one way to hush the trees, but Charlotte was amazed with how Laguna used his psionic energy to propel him up and over the Wood demon in a daring display of skill and acrobatics. Landing squarely, he spoke now with authority, a voice that commanded respect. “Perhaps you should use more than just your eyes” This had the Wood Demon dropping his own leaves, the colour of his face was now the darkest green. (Woody)”Death…to…you.!”- A sudden crack, the tall mighty oak beside where Laguna stood, started to uproot from the ground, as if stepping out of its grave, earth flying in all directiions. (Woody)”T…IMBER!”- the tree began to fall, headed right for Charlotte and Laguna.
LagunaEverae: – He heard the demon’s words. This particular one’s failing was to simply be unaware of who Laguna was and in particular, the command of this particular forest. HIS forest. True enough, Laguna had authority in any wood due to his previous good work in the past. But in the forest where he grew up, that he knew better than any other, it was slightly different. He beamed into his eyes as he watched it enraged, only mentally saying to himself as it stated the words (Woody) “Death to you” (Laguna) “As you wish my forest brother” was his final retort and he pulsed into the air above once more, now for the first time drawing the enormous blade that had adorned his muscular back. And enormous was the word too; it was almost as long as Laguna, and the young man was known to be quite the tall specimen himself. He came into contact with the falling tree, grabbing it as they both fell towards the forest floor, Laguna now gritting his teeth and roared out “nnnnnnnnnnnngggghhhhaaaaaaa!” as a pulse of kinetic energy emanated from his core and filtered outwards, carrying the massive tree out of harm’s way as it clunked and banged against its sill brethren. Laguna landed, and wasted no time; Holding his blade aloft and began to spin. Endless spinning. He was a blur. Then he was more than just a blur, he didn’t even appear there, just a whirlwind of energy and air. The faint outline of the blade made its way on a downward path towards the forest floor, now littered with bark. It came into contact and slowed it’s pace down immediately as it crackled its way through a medium sized tree that had fallen in the madness of the battle. It cracked and split. Laguna’s face was momentarily seen, once again, still on the eyes of the demon. The speed of the sword and the sheer kinetic force had forged it into a seething hot tool, and merged with the dry bark caught itself alight as Laguna twisted his wrist and stated matter of factly “ Find peace in the embrace of the goddess” before pulsing it towards the demon, a tree of fire –
CharlotteCarrendar: -The spinning of the blade radiated such heat the magnitude would cause the bark to catch alight and thus turn this tree to one of fire. Fire…the demon of fire the enemy of the Wood demon, would be laughing, cackling at this sight. The Wood demon panicked. (Woody)”No…no…NOoooOooooO!”- as the flames roared up its weathered bark and the glow of orange and red flames, licking across his surface illuminated the spdier demoness, who had been watching this most unsual battle. Within seconds he was engulfed, a blazing inferno, turning to white hot. Suddenly, the Wood demon explodes, sending a shower of hot ash, that landed upon the crisp white snow, staining it and marking its beauty. The battle done, Laguna the victor, and only fair, for it was his forest. None should be so bold to attempt to take him on in such a challenge. As the ash fell it scattered across the spider demoness who rose up. Again, she was indebted. He was today her champion. She slowly reached into her pocket and pulled out a small box, and then offered it to Laguna. “Open it please?”- if he were to he would find inside a fob watch, an heirloom. “Please accept this…as a token of my gratitude.”
LagunaEverae: – He stood, statuesque as his temporary foe had come to its end. The words he spoke when he knew an opponent’s life was to end was a poignant one; For he had no desire to do such a thing, hence the reason for his two warnings. He sighed outwards, his shoulders rising and falling as he stood plainly still, his back to Charlotte, his eyes for the first time falling slightly towards the floor almost in respect of the dead. He heard the other come closer, a fidget of clothes that alluded to her pulling out a small box, before speaking to his back (Charlotte) “Open it please.” It began, but the great man was barely even listening. Once again he was forced to take life from another. He uttered a silent reply, almost a whisper compared to his usual tone. “Keep it. I have no need for prizes, nor should I accept such an item as a gift of life. It is compassion, not reason, that is stronger than death” the latter part of the sentence said as he stepped forward into the forest, before turning to her, a solemn expression on his charred bark ridden face “There are no lines in nature, only areas of colour, one against another.” –

Snow – Part Two.
CharlotteCarrendar
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He furrowed his brow and narrowed his eyes a little, the dimpled smile still remaining for the time being as he watched her become entranced by the little creature. If she was to be observant enough, this would not be the only little creature that appeared to like the company of the towering man. Rabbits in corners or poking their little fluffy noses out of their burrows and birds overhead in the trees; their was wildlife all around him and the only reason that they were not nearer was because of the other. He watched her mouth the word and lightly nodded his head in approval as she did so. And as close as they seemed for a brief moment, with the removal of the spider from his hand to his shoulder, it passed and she once again appeared taken aback. ” Forgot where you was?” he asked in a questionable tone, but inside knowing that it was probably the case, the forest had a knack of doing that. He did also, but he never knew it. ” And who says you do not belong anywhere?, I am also a traveller, I find myself inclined to do so. The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page, do you not think?” he inquisitively asked –
CharlotteCarrendar:- She had forgotten, for the briefest of moments, the clocks stopped, the earth no longer was spinning, she was in her own world, a world where the spider was everything, and she saw herself in that tiny spider that treated him as though a familiar. She saw through the spider’s many eyes, and she felt the calm and belonging and she wanted to be that spider. But then it was over…she was back in her own body her own mind, and this is why she reacted so. “Out of body…it happens near death, but then when you gaze into the eyes of a kin, you see, everything differently.”- she licked her top lip, a light flick of her tongue, clearly not liking now being so exposed. How clever he was to do this to her, or did she allow this experience? “I know where I am now. And I have travelled though the books I have seen, that have been cast into the flames through war and plague.” She spoke of a world that Laguna would not know of and it seemed to be a riddle, but in order to learn more would be to question her further. She tilted her head forward, her hair forming a veil like curtain that covered her face for a moment. She didn’t know what to do, her nature told her one thing, her heart another….her hunger…her mind….”I’m cold…” -she said simply-
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – Her words intrigued him; it was perhaps the intellectual equivalent of an out of body experience with mainly just words, he thought to himself absent-mindedly as she spoke. There was a lot he could say on the subject. He replied “Talking with you is sort of the conversational equivalent of an out of body experience” as he looked upon her for a brief moment, before taking some loose stands of sleek black hair that had annoyingly furrowed their way forward whilst he peered down to her. He would correct them as he always would do by taking them and pinning them behind his ears as he would have done a thousand times before. He continued “I believe that perhaps everyday spirituality, we need to remember that we are spiritual beings spending some time in a body, regardless of what body that is” He looked to the left, which judging by her footprints in the snow up until now was the intended path she was to take. I am glad to hear you know where you are my lady. But do you know where you are going?” he asked-
CharlotteCarrendar:- Then the truth came out. She pursed her lips together and shook her head from side to side. “Truth is….I intended to plane shift and well, something occured right as I was in the middle of it and…I wound up here. It kindof explains why I am dressed so.”- she then did a sales girl like gesture with both hands to more or less say..~get a load of how wrong this outfit is~ She raised her arms and then let them fall exaperated, and then turned to the direction of her foot prints which were now filling with snow. “I will get my bearings and then…when strong enough…maybe a day maybe two I will be on my way and out of your hair.”- she hated to admit that she had made an error, a mistake, but at the time she was both distraught and in search of Mazmezz. She marched over to a tree stump and sat herself down as though she was actually waiting for a bus.
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He folded his arms as he listened. It was not as if he knew the answer, he was just quite observant and intellectual and could usually tell if one did not belong in this area. And he got this feeling with her. He listened to her reply, even laughing a little by way of exhaling through his nose rapidly when she did her sales-ey turn. “Indeed” was all he simply said as he watched her take to the nearby tree stump, tilting his head and smiling to himself as he knew a few pairs of mice were behind that waiting for him to be alone again. They scooted off without her knowing, he found it amusing. He began to walk towards her and gestured with his arm towards her “Perhaps I can be of some…..” he began to say before lifting his gaze from her to straight in front of him. His face turned to stone. His eyes began to flicker rapidly and one observant enough would even see his ears twitch from time to time. He began to speak again, his tone flat and un-nerving, like it was not a voice to question. “You cannot be here” he uttered, still refusing to take his eyes off whatever he saw in the distance. “It is not safe. Get up. Get up and walk behind me…stay there for a moment” he said, as if they were timed instructions based on what he could see or hear in the distance –
CharlotteCarrendar: – She heard him approach her, the crunch of his boots as they descended into the crisp and compacted snow, was unmistakable. She looked up, and reached up to tuck loose hair behind her ear, only to catch the first part of what he said, “Really…give me a day..”- but something stopped him from speaking and she had a double take as his expression changed completely. Then..he said “You cannot be here” – She suddenly became confused and wondered what made him change his mind so rapidly. “Well, I can just try and dig my way back home. I can’t plane shift yet I don’t have enough strength….and..what..” -she got up as he told her too and then she wanted to protest about having to fall in behind him and stay out of sight, but of sight of what exactly. She made a slight growl at this complete change in behaviour, and she padded around him and then peeked around, wondering what he could see, that she couldn’t. She whispered. “Its snowing so much I can’t see anything up ahead. Did the bunnies warn you about big foot?”
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He heard what she said, but his eyes remained completely fixed and focused on the activity in the distance. He didn’t have long to say what he had to. He began “You must make a choice, OK. There is something in the distance that is going to be precisely where we are in exactly 43 seconds from now. It is not coming for you, but for me, but it will not distinguish that you mean no harm if you are in its path. If you are going to leave then, go right now in the direction opposite. Or you can let me help. I can get us both out of this predicament but you will need to do as I say and exactly when I say it. Choose. Quickly.” He said all statement in bullet point form almost and without pause or hesitation in his voice. It was affirmative. It was going to happen and he had brought someone else into it accidentally. This was exactly the reason he sometimes kept away from people…-
CharlotteCarrendar: – “Forty three seconds?” well that alone would eat up precious seconds as she tried to get around her head what was coming, though she truly did not know. “I can’t get aways from something in forty three seconds, thats madness. I would rather stay and fight, thank you very much.”- The seconds were fast dissappearing and she was still rabbiting on. “I will stay and fight with you, and yes, I will do as you say, but thats my choice. No one tells me to leg it in forty three seconds.”- She then pops her head around his side, and her eyes widen at what is coming. “I think…I am out of time…”
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He listened intently to her reply, wishing to comment on the fact that this particular enemy you didn’t fight, or at least she wouldn’t fight. He simply replied “Very well” to her, her reply having given him enough permission to act on her behalf. He narrowed his eyes for about 3 seconds before flinching to the right, moving her with him as he head twitched and flicked like a bird of prey assessing a situation. He inhaled deeply….A whistling noise too faint for a human to hear quickly became slightly louder. His eyes dilated as they fixed itself on its target; a lone arrow marked for him. He exhaled as he burst into life, outstretching his arm and opening his palm to catch it as he did with the snowball earlier, albeit using a lot more skill than previously. Having caught said arrow, he brought it up to his face to inspect it. He seemed to look at how much of the arrow managed to slip through his hand before he caught it; it was about half and half. And then for the first time he looked at her, saying in his head “Hm. Upgrades” before saying to her “Go. NOW” –
CharlotteCarrendar:- The unmistakable whistling through the air and then, he caught an arrow, not in the knee, with his hand. Wait. An arrow, and he knew the exact time that it would be fired and come into range. No, this made no sense at all. Where the hell did she wind up? Her eyes darted around from left to right and then poking her head around, it was too late, he was turning to look at her. “Hm. Upgrades” before saying to her “Go. NOW” “Now?!” She backed up and then she tripped over a rock that was covered in snow, sending her falling to the ground. She scrambled, trying to get up, her ass in the air, as she looked for somewhere, to go to. “Where?” -she said in a voice that pleaded almost. She pushed herself bolt upright and then she started to run, back the other way she had come and dived over a snowy bank near an old oak, a load of snow falling from the tree’s bough and landing on her “Oommph”
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – It was indeed a particularly odd thing to do and although Laguna was a peaceful creature, he did have a personality and quite rightly objected to being basically tweaked. She went limp in his enormous arms; him feeling regretful of doing such a thing now. No matter, it would make things a little easier perhaps now. He looked down to her; she certainly looked quite pretty in this state. Relaxed, soft and dream-like. He breathed out quickly through his nose; a mixture of a laugh and a sigh, before turning to face the previously occupied land of arrows. He had the ability to wake her of course, by reversing the action, but thought better of it for now. He knew a place they would be safe, and with the approaching sunset, thought it most prudent to make his way to it. He set off once more, bouncing between the trees, albeit at a more slower pace now. He could do such a thing almost on auto pilot, much the same way as Albatrosses fall asleep whilst on the wing because of how accustomed they are to it. His mind was busy processing thoughts about the meeting, as well as absent mindedly concentrating on where the next leap went and how the landing was finished. After a brief respite of just over an hour, they both came to the destination. A dreamy…..cave. He mentally shrugged his shoulders, never minding the great outdoors before going inside, placing the woman down amongst some bed of grass and hay, before turning to face the entrance. He folded his arms and began his scan-like motions once more –

HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – The young man was to be found high in the trees; a typical place to find him to those that knew him, of which there were still few. The newly appointed emperor, despite having been granted an empire recently, still found comfort in the nearby forests that were now declared as his lands alongside his partner. He was sat, high up, with a long leg dangling over a tree as he merely watched the world go by, loving the tranquil quiet and peace of the moment. He was surrounded by nearby flora and fauna, a common occurence with him. Despite his obviously looming size, the animals tend to knew something that others did not; that he was in fact a peaceful creature and to be around him was to be safe. After a brief few moments of peace, his ears twitched; a slight noise to the west. It had been a while since anything new had entered the forest and it intrigued him. He pinpointed the source of the sound but not the creature of entity that was making the noise, it was out of his eyeline. It was a species like trait for him to be able to hear with such precision; he sometimes even called it an annoyance that he was built him such a way. For the time being he kept himself where he was, neither disguising nor revealing his presence –
CharlotteCarrendar: – Far below, where the Emperor may not have seen a figure does move, her skin that of the colour of snow, unnatural in such a natural setting, her hair, that of the winter white, eyes that shine out from blackened halos, deepest crimson. But how is it so, that a maiden of such unusual appeal, should be in this setting? What brings her here? Her hand does just touch an ancient tree, her claws raking the bark away so it falls, shredding, littering the ground in her wake. A shadow did follow the maiden, one that if you were to look was not that of the bipedal form…but it was of a great beast….the bebilth spider. Her true form. Glamour, that was all it was that kept her in the image that did draw the mortal males into her web of malice. She turned her head slowly, looking to her left, for something was watching…but what?
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He narrowed his sea blue orbs. Hue’s that were so alluring that he was named after them. To look upon them was to look into a lagoon, hence the namesake given to him by his now long departed mother. They widened as the other touched a nearby tree and dilated when she rakes her claws through them, tipping the contents onto the freshly fallen snow below. Such a thing he would not normally be able to focus in on so distinctly, but this forest was indeed a part of him; he had spent most of his life in or around it and could feel it as others could not. The networks of the trees, the roots….he knew. He stood statuesque; it had bene an age since something of this nature had entered this area. He knew it was not to be trifled with. He sensed pain, a darkness that he had not encountered for some time. It was now that he did slightly disguise his presence, albeit by merely pinning himself closer to the tree branch he was nearest, once again anticipating a reaction. He was a creature of great patience; his species were infamous for it, for delaying an action until the last possible moment –
CharlotteCarrendar:- Lowering her arm slowly, her clawed hand meets with her thigh, her waist twisting as she glances around, narrowing her gaze with her boots sinking into the snow. Parted lips release her warm breath, her breasts rising and falling sharply. The mere crack of a twig, the sound of a hoot from an owl, the forest very much alive in this part, and Charlotte was the one that did not belong. (Charlotte)”Come out…show yourself. I will not bite.”- her voice had a velvety richness to it, as the words rolled off her tongue. She tilted her head, ever so gently as she straightened her body. (Charlotte)”I am just a woman, far from home.” She takes three steps, but looks left and right, the Emperor high above, not in her line of sight.
HiEmpLagunaDakarai: – He stood, perfectly still and emotionless at this time. His brain was that of high intelligence, far surpassing most species; it was a complex network of neurons, electricity, which all in all meant that he could process information far quicker than anything mortal at least. And it was busy processing all the availible options to him: To make himself known, to hide further, to attack, to retreat, to laugh, to toy with her, to be honest, to lie, millions of complex equations that filtered through his mind within a few seconds. He made up his mind; he did not believe her. He did not know why , but he trusted the way he felt. It was unusual for him to behave this way but he was not sure of something. He would make himself known, but it was not be casual. Without warning he let himself fall backwards off the tree branch, falling headfirst towarcds the ground below. He did not wave his arms about nor show any expression on his face as he fell the some 70 feet towards the ground, leaving it achingly long before he took action. Just as he neared the impending forest floor, he kicked out at the side of the tree bark, using the brief leverage to flip himself the right way, somersaulting 360 degress into the air before cushioning himself for the landing by slightly bending his knees. And so he landed on the floor. He could have done this without making nary a noise, but his arrival was intended, purposeful and to provoke an reaction or at least an acknowledgment-
CharlotteCarrendar: – A breath stolen, for she drew it in and held it tight to her chest. The shadow that passed from the tops of the trees to very near the ground, the crunch as the boots would hit the side of the tree and the air swirling around his form. Oh this was big…that was for certain. Her eyes darted to follow, and sure enough the powereded cloud of white would reveal a male form that by all expectations would leave many a woman in lust. She finally released her breath and like a cougar her head moved from left to right, as though checking out this…..prey. Or was she the prey and he the hunter? Her instinct at first would be to attack, but no, he had not warranted such a response. Intrigue, curiousity. She sniffed the air for his scent, as a slow smile appeared upon snow kissed lips. She then went into a crouch as though to mimic his landing, her hands burying into the snow, and like a spider almost, she began to set her trap. (Charlotte)”Are you a son of Adam? For I have not seen one of his offspring with such….skill.”
(to be continued)
