 Vaas Plain Castle (2)
Part two

Derek pushed the half finished plate away from him. The apple had a bite taken out of it, the bread had been half torn and the wine he had wanted had gone basically untouched. Standing, Derek called in his squire. Tom Dayne was a boy of only 13, his father was a knight and had been trying to get his son into court for as long as Derek could remember. Derek finally gave into his whims and allowed the boy to come to court as his squire, expecting to dislike him. However, Tom was a nice Lad, with huge brown eyes and a bright smile that showed of his teeth. The boy came rushing in, black hair sticking up in every direction “Yer’ Grace” he bowed low and went in search of Dereks clothes. Derek watched him in amusement as he ambled about, gathering shirts and breeches. Derek pulled the breeches on himself, lacing them up at the front as Tom handed his shirt over “Yer’ grace…Princess Violet is here…I mean, downstairs, waiting…”. Derek froze, his shirt half way over his head. “When did she arrive?” he asked, popping his head through the hole in his shirt and tugged his arms through. “Not long ago Yer’ Grace” Tom said. Derek nodded and ran a hand through his hair “Alright…go, go to her now and tell her I’ll only be a moment” Derek nodded with a smile before giving his squire a clap on the arm. The boy nodded and rushed out and down the hall. Derek inhaled a sharp breath and reached for the waistcoat Tom had tossed onto his bed. Derek tugged it on, leaving it open at the front. His boots were next, black and made of hard boiled leather. Once ready, Derek buckled his sword ‘dawn star’ around his waist before leaving the room. Heading for the stairs and into the main hall, he spied Violet before she did him. Smiling like an idiot to himself, Derek cast his eyes across the dark mop of hair, her smile, her eyes…just how he remembered her. “My Lady” he called, ambling down the grand stair case “Forgive me for keeping you waiting” Derek hit the bottom of the stairs and bowed slightly at the waist, however he locked his eyes with hers. Blue on grey. Smiling arrogantly he rose to his full height.

Violet continued to wait for Derek. She paced and folded her arms across her chest, looking around the room as if expecting something new to pop out at her, though she’d been in this room many times before and most likely had it memorized by now. Looking up expectantly, she only saw Derek’s squire, whom she knew fairly well now. “Thank you, Tom,” she said in her sweet voice as he informed her that Derek would be down soon. She spoke his name in the most casual way that it didn’t seem unusual at all. Another thing that made her unique. Violet still saw herself as being above the helpers of the castles, but she enjoyed doing things her way, so she spoke to the servants and help as if they were friends. Only for a few more moments did she need to wait. She heard his voice, before she saw him and it made her smile, just for a moment, but she kept a bored expression as she looked up at him as he walked down the staircase. Well it was meant to be bored, but it turned out to be more of a slightly amused look, with eyebrows raised, and lips just barely curled on one side, giving it away that she was trying not to smile. His entire body seemed to scream “power” as he walked towards her. She always did have a weakness for powerful men. Her chest rose and fell as she breathed deeply to keep herself from smiling at him just yet. When he bowed and stood back up, she moved closer so that he was towering over her and she had to look up to continue their eye contact. Only then did she allow her smile to break through. His was too dazzling for her to give him any other expression. “Well, I’ve never been able to hold a grudge against you, so I suppose I’ll just have to forgive you after all,” she said, her voice light and teasing. “I believe I was told I have a sword fighting lesson with Prince Casterly today. Do you think he remembered me or will I have to drag him to the field?” she asked, her expression still amused, but her smile lit up her entire face.

Derek grinned as she spoke. He hooked his thumbs into the front of his breeches and cast a pair of blue eyes across her form “I believe you’re right” he said, smirking in response. “I fear he had forgotten actually…but that is to be expected when his thoughts are currently being other wise occupied” Derek chuckled and gave her a slight wink “On his wife to be, of course.”. Derek chuckled and took her hand gently. He placed a soft kiss to the back of it, before casting his gaze up toward her eyes “Come my lady” he grinned and raised up again, taking her hand gently in his. He tucked his wife to be in by his side and took of toward the training grounds. The huge raised stadium was the pride of the castle, many a knight having done his time here and having had left a champion. “My lady needs to changed i think” Derek said, bemused as he glanced over her dress. “or you could fight me in a skirt, which i wouldn’t object too” Derek grinned. Heading out into the training area he dismissed the few other people in it to the outskirts to give himself and Violet somewhere to train. He drew ‘Dawnstar’ from his sheath and tossed it from hand to hand, testing the swords weight. As ever, it felt perfect. Derek smirked and held the sword at an angle as he found Violet again “Well?, shall i fight you or my shadow first” he smirked and gave her another wink, obviously enjoying being cocky about his sword fighting.

“Well as long as his thoughts were on his wife to be,” she said with a sly smile and allowed him to take her hand and kiss it. Violet stared into his beautiful blue eyes and followed him, moving in to his side as close and comfortably as she could. Not that she needed protecting, but she allowed herself to feel safe in his arms. She didn’t know what about him made her love him so much, but it was there and her day immediately got better when she was around him. It was good to be back at the training grounds as well. Her favorite thing to do with Derek was to hunt or train. He treated her as if he’d treat anyone else, knowing the importance of a princess learning to fight as much as knowing how to behave in public. This was another thing she appreciated about him. “I have no particular love for this dress. And who knows when I’ll have to fight! I need to be ready for it in a moment’s notice. I may not have time to change,” she pointed out, though she had fully intended on changing when she had gotten here. Now she was considering not. It was clearly not likely that she would need to fight at a moment’s notice, but she enjoyed not doing as he said. Violet made a very un-ladylike face at him and went over to get a sword, unphased by his arrogance. For now. The bow and arrow was definitely her weapon. She could take out anything if she had her bow with her and this was very helpful when she went hunting with her husband to be. He had obviously been trained as a young boy and she had had a later start, needing to learn social behavior before fighting, but she had managed to convince her parents to let her be taught while she was still young. She’d never been as interested in sword fighting until Derek had said he would teach her. She was definitely not as good with a sword as she was with a bow and nowhere near the expertise of Derek, but she was decent and continued to get better with every lesson. “If you would feel better about practicing on your shadow first, I would be willing to wait for you,” she said with a sly grin, matching his cocky tone, holding up her sword and looking surprisingly elegant in her long gown with her sword held in both hands.

https://i2.wp.com/24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6smvyEpzD1rwxf5ao1_500.gifKing Henry had absolutely no clue, that his words of praise for his God, and the joy he expressed in his healing and miracles, was turning his wife’s stomach. He also did not have the foresight to see that she was plotting to do him in, and take the lands and Kingdom for herself. Had he known this….oh how different he would be. Not that she knew truly what would become of an Angel that was to be betrayed by his most adored, beside his son and God. Her sweet voice spoke of how he was truly an Angel, and yes…yes he was. He was perfection, never seeing the bad or ill in anyone, but that’s not to say he didn’t feel dread, when the shadows approached. Oh how well she hid her dark nature from him, she was truly on her game, after all these years, without a single slip up. But how much longer could she maintain this facade, and what would it take, for her to break from her mission to unseat him? The King had offered to be at her service this day, and she smiled at him, with those glorious eyes watching him intently.”I really didn’t had anything planned, love. After my morning cup of tea, I was just going to the garden, so I could relax a bit.”

The King suddenly had a fabulous idea.

“Well then, a walk in the garden sounds delightful, and just to make it even more so, I shall accompany you, and bring with me, my favorite book of hymns, and shall sing to you, my Dove.”

Yes…he was going to follow her, step for step, and sing the joy of his God to her and all that listened.

What an Angel.

Metia tilted her head to the side, when her husband seemed to have an idea, she was just waiting for him to say it, till he said the word book of hymns, oh for gods sake, she was really going to hear that bullshit again? Damn, was he that innocent? Didn’t he saw when she got enough of it? Well, of course not, she was always with that expression that no matter what her husband done, she would always appreciate it and love him. So it was normal, that he thought whatever he done to her or with her, would only pleasure her.
“Such lovely idea from you, my King. Then come with me.”
She said as she stretched out her arm, and moved her hand, like she was calling him to get closer to her. She indeed looked beautiful in white and with that hair long. But then again, she always thought she looked better in dark colors and hair tied up, not like this, but its for her husband wishes. When he got closer to her, she took a simple hold of his hand, and took a step to the front, closing the gap between them, as she planted a kiss upon his cheek. With this done, Metia let go off his hand, and turned around, as she began to walk towards the outside of the castle, so she could go to the beautiful gardens from the castle. Her both hands would be placed in front of her dress, as she walked with firm steps, and a confident expression her face.GardensReaching the gardens, Metia’s light eyes scanned around the are they were within, as she was trying to find the perfect spot, for them to sit down, without getting her dress dirty, since it was white, she had to be way more careful with this dress than with any other dress she used. Another reason why she hated wearing white.
Her eyes finally found a perfect bench, behind the fountain that was placed in the middle of the garden, the bench was actually against the fountain, making people enjoy more the sound of the water falling. Picking up the sides of her dress, Metia walked up to the bench, and when she got there, she slowly sat down, fixing her dress a bit, before look up at her husband, with a lovely smile, waiting for him to sit down and start with his hymns. The early he started, the early this would end, right? Well, she hoped.

GardensKing Henry had taken his favorite book of hymns from the library after his adored Queen agreed that it would be a lovely idead if he sang for her whilst they sat and enjoyed the tranquility of the gardens. Adorned in white, with gold brocade and silver trims, the King’s form became illuminated as he ventured after his wife out into the spectacular gardens. The clouds actually parted, though a sign from God, and shone its rays of light down, christening Henry’s head and crown. He was favored by God, a servant devout, and so his reign appeared to be charmed almost. His long white coat swept along the grass, and he smiled at the sights and scents that invigorated his senses. Life; was all around, and with seeing his beautiful wife looking so fair and radiant in this setting, he felt that this was the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.https://i1.wp.com/31.media.tumblr.com/9216b136c730080e1a4008e4186f6836/tumblr_mkjc28dhoT1s72913o1_500.gif

Reaching the bench where his beloved sat herself down slowly, he showed off his pearly whites, and turned elegantly seating himself beside her. The very birds twittered in the trees, and butterflies flew around, with their rainbow like wings, fanning such pretty colours. A doe even emerged from behind a small shrub, and two white rabbits hopped out nibbling clover, while the King took out his tattered book of hymns.

“I just know you are going to enjoy my hymn to our Lord….ahem…cough cough…”

King Henry then launched into a powerful song, his arm reaching out, and he even knew most of the lyrics off by heart. With his perfect pitch, being an Angel, he even had some of the house staff come out from the Castle, and share in this magical experience.

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.
When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God’s love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

When he finished, many of the staff clapped and some were even moved to tears at his beautiful rendition of the Hymn, the love of God is great.

Gardenshttps://i0.wp.com/i44.tinypic.com/96ezo9.gifMetia watched the King sitting down on the bench besides her, as he said that she would enjoy this. Oh yeah, she would enjoy it so much.
“I bet I will, my love.”
She replayed him with a soft tone of her voice, as she just waited for him to start. He had a beautiful voice, but she’d rather listen him saying other stuff and not this. This was rather boring for her, annoying, disgusting, it bothered her a lot, and if he wasn’t her husband, she would have already made him shut up long time ago. Her expression still remained like she was enjoying what she was listening to. She was always staring down at the water from the fountain, her finger tips, slowly touching the water, as she made random trails, she was basically keeping herself busy with the water, so the hymns of her husband wouldn’t annoy her that much.
As soon as he was done, she noticed loud claps behind her, which made her jump slightly from her seat, she wasn’t really paying attention to who was around her, so she didn’t noticed other people from the castle stepped in, wanting to hear their King. Who would enjoy hear such thing? Ugh, this people was way too pure for her, well, their King is an Angel. Her parents really couldn’t get her other husband? But no, they had t o pick the most pure creature an Angel. At least the King Brax was a vampire not as pure as her husband, and he was wicked, she enjoyed that, yet a mistake happen. She got pregnant of him, lied to her husband it was his, and when the baby born, the maids told her husband the baby couldn’t survive. Metia remembered her husband wanting to see the look of the baby before bury him, but Metia never allowed such thing, and as an excuse she said she felt like she failed and she didn’t wanted her husband to see her “Failure”. Since she was crying pots back then, he respected her and never saw the baby. But then, he wanted another child, because he wanted to replace what they lost, forcing her to get pregnant, luckily for her, this time it was indeed from him, and they had a beautiful daughter, Selene.
“That was wonderful, my King. Always such lovely voice.”
She finally said with a bright smile, as she began to clap, gently and softly, like a lady should do.

“Milord…M’lday, please forgive this intrusion.” He said, making a low bow, and not dare raising his eyes to Metia. The King finally tore his eyes away from Metia and then looked on to his faithful servant.”Speak, do not be shy. I was enjoying the morning with my love. What is it you need?” The King asked, still sitting by his radiant wife.”The Bishop has arrived and seeks audience with you, M’lord, he says it is most urgent.” Jimeon said, again trying not to look at the Queen if he could help it. King Henry knitted his brow, then turned to his wife, and said. “My love, I am needed elsewhere. I promise to return soon…and sing some more.” He said with a smile. “I know how much it warms your heart.” And with that, he rose off the bench, and joined up with Jimeon, heading inside to meet with the Bishop. As they walked, Jimeon shot a look back over his shoulder at the Queen and his eyes were the pit of black.
