Between the Light and the Darkness
CharlotteCarrendar: The man in the gray robe, introduced himself as one, Rotal Snart. Interesting. A name like that would be one to bring mirth to the faces of children. But Raven as no ordinary child, and likely Rotal knew this to be true. His demenor changed drastically, from when he first arrived in the room. Rotal, would watch Raven finish the contents of the vial, and she would hand it back to him, as the black stopped leaking. Like a dam had been erected, or the black had truly gone to sleep. Eyes slowly draining, to reveal the green eyes famous in the family namesake. A breath escapes, and then is caught once more. Raven was daring to remove her mask in his company, especially with Rider standing close. The man’s reaction could have been negative, but she took that chance, in order to protect Rider. Rider, was terribly confused, and let Rotal have a piece of her mind, while Raven wiped under her nostrils. The mother of all questions, was one to be asked, and Rotal knew the answer well. ?” (Rotal)”It is something most beings won’t even understand or comprehend…Now child wouldn’t you like to know what is inside of you and probably your mother over there” Of course she wanted to know, but she knew one thing, it was a part of who she was. But understanding yourself, even if you know what you are made up of, still can be daunting. Unafraid, she replies to Rotal. “I am Raven, and I want to know, what my Mother could not tell me. What is inside of me, that alters who I am?” <3>
DarksiedtheLegend: -Rotal would smile before saying to both Raven and Rider-(Rotal)”What I am about to tell you is a generation secret passed to the select few and even then it is a secret passed by word of mouth…While I feel obligated to tell you…Raven, I must warn you that if this secret gets around…Others will come to silence those who have heard so right now you both must promise to not repeat what has been said here and you must bury it deep into your minds so that even the most gifted psychics and mind flayers can never take it away from you but I’ll teach that technique later….” –Rotal waited for Rider and Raven to make such a promise then he started his story of what was inside Raven and probably Rider besides he doesn’t know if they are really related-(Rotal)”Whats inside both of you is a generation secret of the most strangest beings to ever live and to even grasp how it was made one would only need to long in the past to find it…Long ago when the supposed forces of light and darkness fought, this strange group of beings joined the side of light but when the side of light won…The forces of light despised these strange beings just because they were different and started the eradication of these beings. The beings then began to look for a safe haven but found it in the form of the forces of darkness who embraced them and offered them salvation…or so they thought little did they know their salvation would also be their curse….But just as the light had used these strange beings so did the darkness when the strange beings could give no more would they too be tossed out of their salvation. The strange beings were hunted by both the forces of light and darkness until one of them decided enough is enough and started fighting back in ways that more or less seemed unexplainable for the time… -Rotal seemed to have paused for a moment as if he was recalling those dark dark days-
CharlotteCarrendar: – Rotal’s face showed a smile, one that was to precede the telling of the greatest secret of all. Not in the days of Lore, the nights of Charlotte, the lost life of Taru, the youngest…Raven, was about to hear what the other generations longed to know. This was no simple explanation, no this was the gift of knowledge, of what was a curse, and a legacy. So it makes perfect sense, that in this era, the one to learn the truth, would be the youngest. This was a secret, not written in books, or told by scribes. This was passed down by word of mouth. Raven and Rider, were asked to swear that they must bury this deep down inside, so that it can never be used against them, by the flayers, or those of ill intent. There is a method to keeping it trapped within the sub-conscious, but Raven would have to wait, to see how that worked. Raven was ready to make the pledge, to swear on her life, that she would not tell the secret of the black within her. What followed, was a tale of long ago. Creatures, that were of darkness, and those that were of light. A strange group joined in to help the light, but their sacrifice would be used against them, for simply being different. Raven could not believe what she was hearing. A type of cleansing, genocide just for being different, and their help not appreciated by those of light. Light was suppose to be good, or was that topsy turvy. Darkness too played the game, use and then abuse, till both dark and light gave chase. Could they have been neutral? No, they would not have helped one over the other. Who were these beings, and how does that story, relate to the black? Thinking…thinking…Suddenly, Raven looked up and asked. “Is this black a curse to those that were of light and dark? Is it revenge for the injustice?” <3>
DarksiedtheLegend: -As Rotal seemed to remember the past that his ancestors had to live but when Raven asked her questions-(Raven) “Is this black a curse to those that were of light and dark? Is it revenge for the injustice?” –Rotal seemed to look at Raven before saying what he perceived was the truth-(Rotal)”No dear Raven it wasn’t just a curse…It was a power none had imagined that it even existed…A power that forces change unlike anything ever seen before…It made these beings stronger, faster and on some cases smarter… It wasn’t supposed to be a weapon but they made it that way. After years of fighting someone among made a plan, a plan that continues till today…this being whose name was lost in history saw that all their attacks and raids amounted to nothing…Destroy that town…Another town rises over there…Defeat that army another army is trained to replace it…Kill the general, his subordinate takes his place…Kill a king the prince takes the throne…win a war and lose another.. move forward then forced back…He or she realized this war would be endless and even if they had dominate their enemies and became kings what would stop a revolt or better yet an uprising..In the end the fight will always continue…take a foot but lose it slowly in inches until there is nothing left for you. The most strongest armies fell due to time and their own people…the being realize that winning would just welcome more senseless fighting and they will never achieve their desired victory against the forces of light and darkness…it was then a resolve was made to just hide…Revenge just went stale for them, they might have killed all they could but they lost many on the way and it wasn’t worth it anymore and quite frankly they really had enough of killing besides the spoils of war were really spoiled but this resolve to hide meant they could survive so they hide from the world that shunned them but because they aligned themselves with the darkness they were cursed in a way at least. Night after night their fallen brethren would rise again and fight among each other in an almost senseless fashion but at least it was in secret but those who hid started to learn about the black liquid and study its effects. It wasn’t just a weapon but in a way enhances certain abilities within them and also was able to produce illusions and hallucinations… But unfortunately not all of them could control it, many perished in many different ways from just bleeding out to an internal combustion. Slowly they learned what it could do but that varies from one master to another for you see while one could greatly enhance their abilities they could not create illusions or hallucinations. The masters then branch out to different well sects that embodied elements in a way from natural elements like water and earth to balance elements like light and darkness to even extreme elements and for the life of me the types of master go on and on but you get the picture. It was then a new plan was made.” –Rotal seemed to drift back to his thoughts and memories-
CharlotteCarrendar: – Rotal was kind enough to explain the truth behind the black. Its design, and purpose. The black was not just a curse to those afflicted by it. It was a power, that forces change In the wrong hands, it could be used as a weapon against others. Raven’s head was spinning, and she quickly knelt on the floor, hearing of how the black in her would make her stronger, and faster. But with all benefits, came the harsh downsides, or reality. Of all the fighting, there would be one, that stood up against the battles of light and dark. His name was lost to the ages, but his spirit, was known to many. The weapon would be used, in the days of war. But with all wars, there is a cycle. For every action a reaction. Buildings burnt, then rebuilt. Defeat an army, up pops another one. Wars, fight and lose then fight again. Light and Dark would always be in opposition, just as the setting sun, allows the moon to be shown in its corner. Raven started to see what this all meant to her. The beings hid….and the most likely place they could hide would be… “The tunnels” -she blurted, and continued to listen to the tale, as it went on to the creatures that lived the night, rising and becoming whole, to fight their foes, even in death. So much history, so much had gone on before Raven’s life had even begun. Raven reached up and wiped some black that was under her nose. She stared at the black on her fingers, rubbing them together, making squish sounds. Finally, she looked up at Rotal and said. “Help me…help me contain the black inside me. <3?.
-The morning had been a busy one, for our intrepid adventurers. The Bar staff of the Death Club were going to be travelling in style, to Tokyo, via Eva Airways. A black taxi pulls up at the departure terminal with Nikolas being the first to exit, followed closely by the statuesque Maggie. Both were dressed casually, Nikolas in a sand coloured long jacket, white t-shirt, and black slacks. His hair was tousled and full of mousse, with the tips bleached blonde. He offered his hand to Maggie, who was wearing a caramel trench coat, with black stockings and matching pumps. Her hair was worn down, but in tight curls, that framed her face gently, but was teased by the chilly winds. The cab driver got out and assisted taking their bags out from the boot, and set them down on the sidewalk. Nikolas dug into his jacket pocket and took out his wallet, paying the cab driver and then turning on his heel back to Maggie, who was reading the departure signs. The terminal was extremely busy, for not two minutes after their cab had departed, then another one pulled up in its place. Course, this one would be carrying the rest of the party. The front passenger door opened, with Kraus getting out first, beaming as he spotted Maggie and Nikolas already there at the entrance of the terminal.
“You made it! Great, let me just help get the luggage. I think Inga brought everything bar the kitchen sink.” Nikolas patted Maggie’s shoulder and said- “Just going to give him a hand. Get us a trolley would you, Hun.” The Swiss hunk said with a wink, as Maggie saluted, and picked up their two small bags, and went off to find a bigger trolley. Inga would open the door, and step out, looking like Rhianna in her S&M clip, with a squeaky pink two piece suit made from leather and a matching hat and purse. Wearing large round glasses, she gave a wave to the departing Maggie, and then stepped up onto the sidewalk, waiting for the bags. Course, there were others in the cab. Next to get out was Sven, who was very well dressed in a black Armani suit, with white shirt and black tie. Snatching up his man bag from the back seat, you could see him leaning back in the car, to help out Nanna Noonie, who was wearing of all things, a red Nike tracksuit and matching Andy cap, in white. “Here we go Nanna, easy does it?” Sven said, trying his hardest to be nice to the Matriarch Snoggleblom. He had gone to a lot of trouble to make sure that he didn’t have to sit next to her on the long flight to Tokyo. One long overseas trip with Nanna Noonie beside him was enough. Nikolas and Kraus stood at the back of the cab, taking out the great amount of luggage that Inga had decided to bring with her. Maggie came back from the trolley racks, only to find her mouth falling open from all the pink suitcases. Placing down her bags, she leaned on the trolley, and pointed out to Inga. “Have you got enough pairs of shoes, Inga, or are you taking a load of that Oil of Bull cum over to bribe the locals with?”- The Irish singer said with a bit of a smirk. Inga waved off the suggestion and said. “I couldn’t decide vhat to vear…zo I bring…everything.” Nanna Noonie only had one small suitcase, which she sat down on the trolley, and then smiled up at Maggie. “Ahhh Inga told me all about you…yah. Miss Maggie. I amz Nanna Noonie. Oh, you are a tall one.” This was true, especially since Nanna Noonie was only 5’3”. To her, everyone was tall. “Have you ever been to the Land of the Rising Zun?” Noonie asked Maggie, as the boys brought over the luggage, and a airline official, brought out more trolleys. Maggie shrugged her shoulders and had something of a quirky smile. “This is a first for me, Nanna Noonie. I am just amazed to be coming along, don’t know why ya Granddaughter would ask me to go to Japan.” Inga trotted over and smiled brightly at the lanky Irish gal. “Vell, the Death Club is closed….and I thought, let’s makes it a Holiday. I mean, dhis is vor free.” No one could argue with that, and then Maggie asked Inga. “Where is Dixie?” Yes, that was a very good question. Inga sighed, as Kraus came and put his arm around her. Kraus frowned, on hearing the mention of Dixie, and Nikolas, who set down the last of the bags on the trolley, also wondered where the cheeky Australian was. “She is…uhm…we did ring her, but she sounded upset. Well, there is something going on with her at the moment. Maybe it’s man trouble, but she was quick to say no, and hung up on Inga.” Kraus explained. That had Nikolas and Maggie look at each other oddly. That didn’t sound like the Dixie everyone knew and loved. “I hope she is okay.” Nikolas offered, right as the overhead speaker announced. “Attention passengers, Flight HK 1264 to Tokyo, leaving in thirty minutes. All passengers please check in at the departure area. Suddenly, all were excited, and headed inside the terminal, Nanna Noonie coming along last.
Their bags were all checked in by efficient staff at the baggage check in stations, and Inga leaned over to her Nanna and whispered. “No ‘erbs this time…yah?” Inga knew all about Nanna Noonie’s Spanish disaster, where she fed Antonio some of her “special muffins” Noonie crossed her heart smiling, and the wrinkles in her face tightening. “Not this trip…heh.” Inga rolled her eyes, as the others got ready to go through the scanners. Noonie seemed to get friendly with one of the men holding the trays out for her to empty all of her bag into. He was wearing a dark blue uniform, and had a bald head, with a scar on his right cheek. Built like a brick shit house and twice as mean looking, Nanna Noonie was in heaven. “Everything in the tray, please.” Nanna Noonie took her time emptying out her bag, and then patting his arm, she asked. “Do I get frisked?” Inga heard this and shouted. “NANNA?!” The Security officer chuckled and shook his head. “Thank heavens, no.” A bit disappointed, Nanna Noonie went through the metal detector, and it didn’t go off. More bad luck. No cavity searches. The group headed up to the gate where the plane was and Nikolas could not believe it, seeing the plane on the tarmac. “It’s covered in Hello Kitty. They really made a jet with that on it?”
The airline hostesses, all wore teal suits with pink Hello Kitty Aprons, and one by one, they welcomed the group on board the Jet. Sven was first to go find his seat, which of course, he had booked in advance, and made sure he got a seat beside a young Japanese business man, who was on his flight home. Sven shook his hand vigorously and said. “You have no idea how happy I am to be sitting with you.” The business man nodded and then sat down, taking out his earphones, so he didn’t have to listen to the agent any more than he had too.
